Poll – Joelwood

Written by Schwarzwalder on January 4 2017

Despised by many, admired by most, there is simply no denying the Supercoach numbers of Joel Selwood’s career.

Over ten seasons, and despite recent injury problems/niggles, Selwood has missed just fourteen games to underline his durability.  Of those ten seasons, Selwood has averaged over 110+ on seven (!!) occasions, four of which were over 117+.  His 2015 season hit a road-block due to varying niggles but still managed a respectable 105 avg.  With the much-publicised trade of Patrick Dangerfield, Selwood may not hold the #1 MID mantle at Geelong but is still very much SC-relevant.  He hit back well in 2016, averaging 111 and only missing the ton in 6/22 games.

Turning 29 in May, Selwood still has plenty to offer as an elite MID.  The question needs to be asked though………..Is it worth starting Selwood at a cost of $606 600?  Perhaps it bothers you to start both Danger & Selwood?  Will his price inevitably drop early on?   Would love to hear your thoughts below……….

Is Joel Selwood worthy of a spot in your starting line-up?
