Carl asked us who the best replacements are for Macrae in the Polling Station and we’re curious to find out.ย Macrae is owned by nearly 20% of all Coaches at the moment but will be missing for 3-4 weeks with a hamstring injury.ย In other words, hard to hold onto unless you’re running really low on trades.
Assuming you already have the ‘popular’ choices in the midfield, who won’t appear in the poll: Tom Mitchell (62%), Nat Fyfe (56%), Dangerfield (37%), Cripps (38%) & Dusty Martin (55%).ย As always, imagine you don’t have any of the players on the poll.ย Who would you target first as a replacement for Macrae? (Players are listed with current price and level of ownership).

Already have Fyfe and Mundy so Neale seems to be out of the question, if they have a bad day in mids I would be a goner
Oliver is one I’m looking at and he is the safest
There is also Trealor who is decent but will he keep it up
and one I’m keen on is Duncan but I already have danger and menegola might be coming in soon
Low on trades (9 left) thinking its worth the hold. But if i was trading id say Oliver is undervalued as he played with the hand injury about 1 month ago.
wot no Josh Kelly?! ๐
If you only had 9 trades left before this round, what would you do with Macrae?
TU: HOLD (I can get 19 on the field this week anyway)
TD: TRADE (3-4wks means 6-7 minimum, before he’s back to his best)
many thanks SCTers
Kelly is a gun , no doubt , but 550k for a guy that’s been out with injury for so long seems a huge risk , even if he did score 150 , it was against the worst midfield in the comp , with all the GWS injuries he is gna have to carry a huge workload ..
Agree, take out his one big score and he is averaging 102 for the year, not worth the price you’d be playing unless he shows a bit more.
i meant in the poll (re Kelly) rather than that I am trading him in … i don’t have Danger either … yet
Any idea why Pendlebury so SC irrelevant this year? Pies are up and about but his scores are very mediocre.
Havenโt watched much of the pies this season, but what I have seen, he seems to be playing on the man or behind the ball.
Maybe Pies fans can shed a little more light for you?
I think we (Collingwood) are sharing the workload more evenly where in the past we relied mainly on Dependlebury. Might not be getting much sleep with a young child?
Im tossing up between bont and Treloar.
Have leaned to bont as more of a pod route but he is also now more likely to get tagged with macrae out
I’ve had bont since the start of the season, love his game, but worried bevo will throw him forward to protect him as soon as the dogs are mathematically out of it
Bont has carved me up a few times this season, can go massive
steering well clear.
maybe next year.
Kelly is the one. Will be posting Fyfe like scores for the rest of the season.
Thatโs twice youโve posted such comments Disco … what makes you so sure? Iโm still umming and arring .
Thanks Stu
ps how do you spell arring?
Uhing? Lol no idea. Same idea as I have on Kelly
me three. ๐
i’m having a beer to decongest the cognitive senses
Aaahing?
Definitely Oliver if you don’t have already him; beyond that it depends on whether you need someone who is playing this week. If you don’t, then Neale or Duncan could be good; if you do, then probably Treloar.
Bontempelli is another one who is flying under the radar this year, although he is under an injury cloud this week, and might cop more opposition attention with Macrae out.
Definitely Oliver if you donโt have already him?!
yoda Salamander you are
If Yoda I was being, said “Definitely Oliver, if already have him you do not” I would have. ๐
Its not a problem for me, but I’d go Bont…..raises extra cash, be 66, cheap, on fire, and quite a pod.
If I didn’t have him, I’d bring in Oliver. Even if I had him, I’d write to SC and see if I could bring him in a second time.
After that, probably Curnow for a POD, just ahead of Neale / Treloar.
