Polling Station Rd17

Written by Schwarzwalder on July 8 2019

Welcome back to the Polling Station, where YOU control the content at SCT!

That time of the week again, Coaches………. Is there a certain poll/thread that you’d like to see on SCT this week?  Something that you need help with?  An issue that you find interesting?  Something you believe would be helpful for Coaches over the last seven weeks?

Let us know in the comments and we’ll do our best to fit it into the schedule before the Fridan night lockout……….

  1. Last midfield spot

    Merrett, Bontempelli, Sloane, Yeo, Gaff

The way I see it they are all very even maybe Sloane & Bont the top 2 there but hard to seperate them

  2. Not really a poll but wondering on the best ever cash cows and how O’Brien sits in that list – biggest differential between starting price and peak price. I assume most of such a list would be mids but mainly just interested (and if there is anything at all to learn from it)…

    1. Barlow and OBrien would have to be top of the pops for that list I reckon, but would be a good list to see

    2. Zac Smith (made 285k cash) and J. Giles (375k) were pretty good, so a solo ruck is a good choice if it’s available.

GWS’ first season saw a few big cash generators (aside from Giles): Treloar (360k) and Greene (390k).

O’Brien (405k) and Barlow (460k) are a step above though.

Man, if Barlow hadn’t broken his leg, he could have been the top SC player of all time. He was averaging 118 in his rookie season before he got hurt and had 6/12 games over 130.

  3. whats your current rank and what your projected score is assuming all your best players were to play this week. it could be interesting to see where people’s teams are at now and whether current rank has a correlation with current team projected or if some people started slower but have caught up with those higher ranked?

  4. I would find it interesting to see who the ‘must have’ players before the start of the season faired towards the end of season. Were they successful, below par, duds etc etc……

  5. I’d like to see the question posed in the round sixteen review: Do we downgrade still or instead save trades for possible injuries?

  6. What to do…

    1. No Gawn again….get Preuss ??
    2. No Grundy…..get him v Nicnat ?? (my dilemma via rob)
    3. No Cripps…..trade and go for broke ?

Any two of the above….start planning for next year ??

  7. With regards to premiums.

How many started with Grundy/ Gawn as the two ruck options together with Lloyd/Whitfield in defence and Boak up forward?

Both rucks were virtually scoring 30 points per game more than the next best ruckman. Lloyd, Whitfield and Boak would have given you a flying start.

    1. List the top 3 defenders, top 4 mids, top 3 fwd and top 2 ruk and have a poll asking how many of those players were in your team at the start of the season.

  8. if you started the season with the players you have now @ their starting prices
what would your team have been worth
    mine 11,021,000
so effectively if my math is right ( which isn’t very often )
i could surmise that i’ve used 24 trades to get Boak & Mundy into my team 😉
a season to forget for sure

  9. Would love a simple one on if it’s time to cash in O’Brien to a non playing rookie? Or should we hold for Grundy/Gawn issues?

    1. If this is a concern for any coach, potentially downgrade ROB to Westhoff, pocket $137.6k and use that immediately on another spot in the side, or use for a later upgrade.

  10. How many players from ONE team , is too many in your side?

IE: this year.. GWS… Williams, Whitfield, Gogs, Toranto, Kelly ?!
WBD… Bont, McCrea, Dunkly, Daniels ?!

  11. Should the afl do something about Ben Brown goal kicking approach. He always takes most of his 30 secs to get rolling, then another 10-15 running in.
I pay my money to watch footy….not athletics!!!
