Polls: Trade Or Hold

Written by The Salamander on May 20 2021

10 percent of coaches have to decide whether to hold the injured Jack Bowes for the next three weeks (one of which is his bye), or to trade him out.

What should coaches do about Bowes?

Meanwhile, Tom Powell has a breakeven of 106 this week. That means it’s decision time: trade him out now, or hold him until his bye.

What about Powell?

Finally, a slightly different type of trade or hold question: Jesse Hogan is $310,800, averaging 91, and on the bubble this week. Should we trade him in, or hold off?

Is Hogan worth the risk?

  1. Stringer was in a better position to pickup than Hogan On the bubble IMO.

Which as we know ended up being a burn for anyone that took the punt.

Stay away, will only end the same.

  2. Hogan has already missed a game since returning and looked injured in the last quarter. I think it was off screen because I didn’t see it but the commentators on Saturday were saying things like ‘he’s cooked he can’t run’ and ‘the Richmond players ran off him because they know he can’t compete’. Could all be nothing but worth a mention

  3. Think trading jack bowes depends on your cover. Personally I have Koschi as cover so Im happy to hold for 2 rounds amd a bye. Also lachie jones coming back soon.
If you dont have cover the trading is almost a must.

  5. If one is to go this week for an upgrade, which one?

    TU: Powell
    TD: Warner

I suppose it also depends if Powell is rested this week (on extended bench at the moment). If he is rested, he won’t drop in price, so I could then hold him and hope the week off does him good, then he can be used as a warm body over the R13 & R14 disaster rounds. Thoughts?

    1. I double down graded last week Lisa – so have a cash bank and am actually contemplating trading them both for “so called premos” … with an eye on the byes …

Of course, this depends on the outs and right now yet again another possibility of a donut in defence unless Murphy named again. Also depends on if JOnes is named again … in which case have to take him I think.

That said, I think given Powell’s BE and the fact he has the first bye, he will lose a lot of cash leading into the bye. He has done his job and earnt good money to let you step him to a premo … so for me, he goes first.
