  2. 161/2/N (Martin and Waite).
Also got a dilemma i could use an opinion on, which combo to choose out of GAJ/B. Waters or S. Mitchell/T.Kennelly? I’m looking at total output for each pair. Cheers.

    1. I’m the same as DM.

I’ve gone Ablett but also have the other three players in my side as well.

You’d probably score more points with Ablett/Waters all things considered.

      1. Waite (I took the risk after his 94 in Carlton’s last NAB Challenge match), Martin, and Gibbs. With Nason and Warnock on the bench. I’ll post my full team once the lockout takes effect later today.

        1. Yeah i did exactly the same with Waite! Glad i have him in. Always liked him and fingers crossed he plays all year and is injury free!

I have martin and gibbs as well. Along with Carrazzo! glad i left him in 🙂

Just wish i had left in Kruza – was a lock this whole time but then a last minute shuffle yesterday saw him out! oh well. Hope Hille and Seaby play well!

  3. 0/0 (Roberts, late replacement for Pods, only got 15, oh well).
Jeez, someone out there must be spewing having picked up Newman at a premium to only return 16. Ouch!

    1. Went with Roberts over Pods as well… Would have been OK if his kicks hit targets more times than not!

I’m hoping Hardwick sees to it that he gets another shot next weekend to atone 🙁

  4. What is everyone’s thinking with T Rockliff from Bris, noticed he was only named as an emergency… Leave him on the bench or replace with Hitchcook from PA?

        1. Same, I had Nason and Warnock on the Bench as well.
From a purely footy perspective (as opposed to DT), I was quite impressed by Nason – started out very nervous, but the lad kicked a goal – I bet he plays better next week.

    1. Go for Gumby, its worth the risk but just make saw Rocky doesn’t play even his is named as a emg. He might get a game.

  7. what is everyone thinking about robbie gray? 50/50 to play, but doesn’t sound like an ongoing injury (he might only miss one week).

trying to decide if i should trade him now or just survive a week without him.

  8. I got rid of Gray. Had him in as a lock but with the injury cloud decided to spend a little more and go with T.Lockyer. Hope i dont regret it!

I currently have C.Hitchcock as my 7th forward (as he is named as starting) with Rockliff and Podsiadly on the bench.

Everyone reckon this is a good last three to go with?? should all play, ie one will def play each week?

    1. im in the same boat mate they are my three filling the lower end of the forward line. Did have gumby in for rock only because he was named at CHF but people on here dont seem to rate him that much…injuries will do that to you

    1. Barlow
Pods has been named as an (E) this week so you’d probably have to say Gumby because at least he’ll play.

dropped Pods for Gumbleton myself cause his playing

      1. i have Higgins and swaped Gray for Johnson, but mainly for geelongs fixtures they are reasonably soft looking if he is fully fit and in good form…hoping goals and a bit of time in the midfield will see him go alright

  11. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/90959/default.aspx

    Note:

    – Robbie Tarrant on Emg for Roos.
    – Bastinac starting on the field for Roos.
    – Brodie Moles on Emg for Dogs.
    – Brad Johnson playing.
    – Fremantle haven’t announced Emgs. Morabito, Barlow, Silvagni all named on the ground though.
    – (surprise, surprise) Dangefield is playing.

That’s all I picked up on a skim-read that we didn’t already know officially.

    1. Just to further explain my score. I know, a bit too in-depth. Watson had Ling tagging him, got 74 so should improve, and Martin for the Tigers got a respectible 72, taking into consideration Richmond had no one break 100.

Will leave Gumby for 1 more week on the bench, and then trade for someone who is about to make some cash after round 3 completion.

      1. hey motts, how about an article to explain how the prices change.

last year the *magical* figure was around, from memory, 5120. I’ve heard that it’s gone up this year, thus making it harder to make cash.

      1. Thanks buddy. Saw Ablett’s DT score after the match before his SC score came out and thought he was going to have about a 160. Not unhappy with a 254 from my captain though. Especially when it took me all of a nanosecond to make my mind up who it was going to be.

        1. Get used to it Motts – word from the Cat’s ‘rooms after the match is that Bomber stated his indecision is affecting their performance. Pressure building!

  18. 515/4/Y…………..

Agree Stevo………GAJ looked a bit off….was often 10-15 metres from where ball was, just in wrong spot, and teammates ignored him ( correctly)……… and he also gave away a silly 50m.and a kick out on full…… and still goes 127…….. 254 for most of us I guess…….. with upside I reckon……

    1. I reckon as well, though the hawks play Collingwood, Geelong and Western Bulldogs in the next few weeks i think. I’ll most likely trade him in if needed after those games

You gotta be happy with 103 avg! Who have you got?

      0

  20. I think Lance has the best average – if you divide his total by his players (+1 cause his captain has scored) you get 113 – nice work mate.

    Can anyone beat that?

Pretty happy so far, 1st time in supercoach. Made a f@#kup though, somehow didn’t realise McVeigh was suspended and had him in my starting 22! Luckily I had Shuey as my emergency! Still got Pavo, Bazza, Gian, Sandi, Pendlebry, Cooney and Barlow to come!

Farmer, Dal Santo and Trengove let me down, Still have faith in Dal & JT.
Still have Harbrow, Pendles, Swannie, Tippy, Higgins, Gia, Murphy, Medhurst and Walker in the shed.

  32. Hi there Motts (and everybody else),

At the moment my team is sitting on 1,516, from 22 scoring players. I mucked up though I had Buddy Franlklin on the ground, and left Rockliff as my emergency, oh well 🙁

I have the following players still to play:

Dane Swan / Adam Cooney / Aaron Sandilands / Shaun Higgins / Patrick Dangerfield / Jack Zeibel / Paul Medhurst.

Fingers crossed I scrape over 2,000 points this week, I would hate to get a score lower than the boys round 1 🙂

    0

    0
  33. The good news about the first 3 rounds is that you’re not playing anyone so its a good time to work out those kinks. I reckon you’re home and hosed for 2000 this week with that kind of talent to come.

Did you end up joining the all female league? There’s still 2 spots to fill.

    0

  34. 1551/15/y

reasonably happy. still have harvey, ball, tippett, pav, hall, dangerfield and ziebell to play. hoping for 2100+

  35. I’m doing ok 1717 / 17 / Y. I’m hoping for about 2100 which is pretty good for my first try at supercoach. Could anyone give me some advice? I was wondering if i should trade Malceski in for Gram, but was wondering if i should wait another week after round 2 to do so.

  36. 1530/13/Y

Think im doing alright so far. Hille and Nic Nat disappointing in the ruck… very happy that i have seaby as emergency (even though he should have been on the feild)

O’Brien, Petrenko, Higgins, Ball, Tippett, Gray, Hall, Medhurst, Hitchcock to play. 2200+ hopefully

Still 2 vacant spots to be filled if anyone is interested.

  38. Could anyone help me clear my mind about what happens if gray isn’t listed as playing? I have hitchcock as emergency and hopefully he comes in however the rules confuse me.

    It says:
“NOTE that in the 2010 competition, players who are actually named and in the starting 22 for any match, AND score a 0 for any reason, will NO LONGER be replaced by an emergency. Their 0 score will also have an affect on their value, being recorded as having played a game. ”

However if they were removed off the starting 22 what happens?

    0

    0
    1. nah mate that rule is different. gray will be replaced by the emergency you have set because he didn’t play at all

      0

      0
      1. That’s right. If a player actually plays, gets injured (or is benched all game) before he gains a point, then that player registers a 0. But because Gray is not even taking the field, his place is taken by the emergency.

        0

        0
          1. Last year round 5 against the Tigers, Boomer was “Chicken Winged” in a tackle busted his elbow, he had no stats at all. He was taken from the ground and didn’t play for the rest of the game. He SC score was 0.

            0

            0
  39. 1323/13/Y …. Some disappointments and looks like Jay-Z will be another. Got some big names to cone this afternoon including Swan, Higgins, Davis so might be able to get back up there.

  40. Anyone think I should burn trades to get the players that are going to go up?
Gram->Hunt/Malceski/Ladson [Which one is the best?]
    Gray->Medhurst?

    0

    0
  41. Pretty solid games from Hitchcock and Banner. I thought they both showed a fair bit of confidence and ability for first-gamers.

    0

    0
    1. I thought you and Motts would be smiling at that one. I, similarly, am relieved that J-Mac pulled his finger out with a whopping 4th quarter. Looks like Gia may have woken up too – hope he can keep it going.

      0

      0
  42. 1412/12/Y Having a pretty good start. Plenty of big names to come…Ball, Lockyer, Hall, Medhurst the Rat, Goodwin and Boyd plus a coupla nuphies in Ballantyne, barlow, Tippett and Hitchcock.

    0

    0
  43. 1913/19/Y ….. heading for about 2100 i guess. Happy with that as a start.

Banner getting a 90 on the bench … should have had him in instead of Trengrove.

    0

    0
  44. 1854/19/Y Backline very disappointing, hopefully they improve next week or else there could be some early delistings. Do you hear boyz pick up your game!

    0

    0
  45. 1702 / 17 / Y happy so far ( except i gotta think about what to do with my adcock dilema) but i still have goodwin, duffield, mundy, ballyntine and tippet to go

    0

    0
  46. 1842/20/Y Tippett and Goodwin to come. Would have hoped for a better start, but Hargrave/Gram/Dal Santo disappointed, and lets not even talk about Gumbleton. Last minute changes of Ablett out for Cross ended up not too bad, but as stated earlier the Gia for Medhurst trade hurt. Although having no Collingwood players in my team gives me a wonderful feeling inside that nearly makes up for the crappy score 🙂

So how are the people without Ablett feeling? Pretty sure he can’t hold his price, so when he get him, we get him cheaper, which must be a good thing.

    0

    0
  47. 2074/20/Y
Reasonably happy, have Tippy & Walker to come. Gia and Harbrow let me down, but I think there is scope for improvement in this team. Wish I’d picked Bastinac and Goose instead of Trengove and Farmer, but thats the game.
As for Gazza, I think he will improve and getting 126 on an off game is pretty good in my opinion. And even if he does devalue a bit, he will still be bloody expensive, so you will pay a price to get him. I’m happy to have him in my team.

    0

    0
  48. 2039/19/Y – tippett, barlow & ballantyne to come.

Giansiracusa and Hall let me down a bit today. Should have stuck with Higgins.
Good to see Hall keep his cool during the scuffle after catching Wellingham on the head.

  49. 2013/19/Y

Goody, Tippett and Barlow to come……. that could be 180 to 300.. who knows…..!!
Should get the 2100 easy enough to keep my spot in League of Extraordinary coaches though Motts……… made 1 bad bench call, and also had Buddy sitting on the pine…… so upside next week……… i hope………!!!! Would have took 2200 with Buddy on the benchh yesty though……..!!!!!!
Doing a great job with the site boys…….

    1. Price only changes after 3 scores. His original price was calculated based on an average of 86.1, therefore, that is his break-even. It gets harder to work out as fluctuations in value occur. Easy answer to this: ffgenie – it gives you everything you need to know and then some. There’s a blog about it on this site.

      1. Not too dusty, Spooner. We’re 115 of 29,301. Our average score was 2,203. Our highest score was 2,355 from kb. Our lowest was 1,862. We had 4 players with 2,300 or more which was great.

Got a long way to go though to make the Top 10 leagues. Number 10 had an average of bang on 2300. Going to need everyone to step up!

        0

        0
        1. Nice! You’ll have to take that 1,862’er to task though!

What a weekend. I watched every minute of footy and there were some solid games I reckon. Seeing Fremantle not just competitive but actually dominant against a good Crows outfit was a pleasant surprise. The Swans gave the Saints a good run as well. The first half of the Dogs/Pies match had final fever about it and was the best half of the weekend in my view. Man I love footy season.

  7. what is everyone thinking about robbie gray? 50/50 to play, but doesn’t sound like an ongoing injury (he might only miss one week).

    – Bastinac starting on the field for Roos.
    – Brodie Moles on Emg for Dogs.

  20. I think Lance has the best average – if you divide his total by his players (+1 cause his captain has scored) you get 113 – nice work mate.

    Can anyone beat that?

Pretty satisfied so far but have a couple of 1st gamers to go (plus some middies) so projected total of 2566 may be a little overly ambitious (but, I must admit, nice to look).

  33. The good news about the first 3 rounds is that you’re not playing anyone so its a good time to work out those kinks. I reckon you’re home and hosed for 2000 this week with that kind of talent to come.

Did you end up joining the all female league? There’s still 2 spots to fill.

  35. I’m doing ok 1717 / 17 / Y. I’m hoping for about 2100 which is pretty good for my first try at supercoach. Could anyone give me some advice? I was wondering if i should trade Malceski in for Gram, but was wondering if i should wait another week after round 2 to do so.

  42. 1412/12/Y Having a pretty good start. Plenty of big names to come…Ball, Lockyer, Hall, Medhurst the Rat, Goodwin and Boyd plus a coupla nuphies in Ballantyne, barlow, Tippett and Hitchcock.

  43. 1913/19/Y ….. heading for about 2100 i guess. Happy with that as a start.

Banner getting a 90 on the bench … should have had him in instead of Trengrove.

  44. 1854/19/Y Backline very disappointing, hopefully they improve next week or else there could be some early delistings. Do you hear boyz pick up your game!

  46. 1842/20/Y Tippett and Goodwin to come.

  48. 2039/19/Y – tippett, barlow & ballantyne to come.

Giansiracusa and Hall let me down a bit today. Should have stuck with Higgins.
