Progress Scores – Rd13

Written by Schwarzwalder on June 15 2018

Some big performances from the Power players.  Did you bring in a couple this week?  Did anyone take the VC punt on Yeo?  Is your 2nd Bye Round off to a flyer?

  1. 173/2

    Fyfe into Titch.

Mclean really let me down tonight. Not sure why he wasn’t playing on the ball more, especially after Macrae went down. The way the ball was entering the forward line, he was never gonna score well.

  2. Current score: no clue
    Amount of players: no clue
    Reason why: World cup 2018
If I find some spare time I might check my team but it was a lost cause after more carnage. 😉

  3. I love the the World Cup. I am hoping to catch at least 90 seconds of every match that clashes with an AFL game.

  4. 467 / 5 / macrae was VC

Bulldogs fan that lives in Adelaide and went to the game. Horrific stuff on the injury front pretty painful stuff to watch.

    Oh, and supercoach. F#@k!!!!

Reduced to 18 this week after bloody team announcements and Macrae and Mclean haven’t got me off to a flyer unfortunately

  5. 543/5

Only 17 on field this week thanks to Coffield, Heron and Murphy all being dropped.

Bont, Rocky, Hoff and Gray did well last night to make up the difference!

  6. 430/5/Macrae into Fyfe,
T Boak, L Hunter, J Macrae duds, Gray and Rocky studs, Boak 64 on debut was not the solid Port player I had to bring in ahead of Wines…

  7. On 386 with 4 played, Gray, Rocky, Mclean and Dollhouse. Got Fyfe as vc with Titch as captain.

Just 3 donuts this week, thankfully…

Looking at a shocker this week. Down to 15 starting with the selection carnage and Walters suspension. Threw the VC on Macrae so Titch will get the big C this week. Team is finished but this weeks score is going to hurt.

Think that all my luck has been used up this round bringing in Westhoff/Yeo/Rockliff who have been great, and am due for my VC and C to spud it up!

Yeo was awesome. Heeney and Ronke good. Flyin Ryan and NicNat below par, but can’t be too disappointed.

  11. In my haste I forgot to confirm trades and cost my 190 points plus more for next week. Yeo and Ryan for Mirra and Spargo would have been more than welcome 🙁
Might as well cop the losses now and look to next week

    1. Pete, you may lose 190 points but you end up having 2 more trades than most and as they say, trades are gold and we are only half way. Chin up

  12. 242/4/Fyfe into titch.

Ryan and Hurn in was a Mistake, should have brought Yeo in.

But hey, it was one tough match for the eagles and it’s a marathon.

  13. 815 / 8 / Fyfe into Titch

Sub 100s – McLean, Hurn, Ronke, Heeney
120+ – Gray, Rocky, The Bont, Yeo

Hurn was disappointing on debut but i don’t have traders regret. Speaking of traders regret or lack of it Rocky has been fantastic as a warm body on the field over the byes. The intention was Rocky at M9 but he’s quickly becoming a candidate for my M8 spot.

Should have 18 taking the field this weekend with the breakdown of 7 premos and 3 non premos (Austin, Holman and Henry) to come. If Fyfe or Titch go big with the captaincy honours, this round could go really well. Or………..

      1. What could go wrong??

        * Bolton and Voldemort decide that it’d be good for the game to see Cripps and Fyfe go head to head. In the first minute they both go for a hard ball, clash heads, both score 0 for the day and in an AFL first both players get suspended for 2 weeks cause they both caused a concussion.
        * Saints have a big day against the Suns meaning Webster’s half back role is diminished and Holman doesn’t get his hands on it in the guts.
        * Pyke decides they need to manage Crouch’s load coming off his injury and decide to rest him this week with their bye looming and Mitch has a down game. Sicily cops a fwd tag, acts like Sicily acts when he cops a fwd tag, gives away 8 FA and score -15.
        * Things only go downhill from there with Henry getting the job on Dusty in an open fwd 50 and he struggles with Dusty giving me the bird for thinking Dusty to Danger was a great trade last week. Dusty kicks 8.3 with 35 touches. With the Dusty show at one end Chris Scott tries to mimic Dimma’s coaching move and parks Danger in the goal square but without Danger in the centre the Cats struggle to get the ball fwd of centre and Danger only scores 50pts. Henry scores -20 with 5FA and 3 uncontested possessions for the day.

I end up scoring 200pts from my remaining 10 players and i slip even further down the rankings. Next week i have 15 outs due to suspension and injuries and give up on SuperCoach forever.

You’re right. what could go wrong 😉

  14. 880 / 8 / C Buddy
Macrae and McLean only low scores , however I seem to have buggered up V and VC,
originally had Buddy into Fyfe but a last minute switch to Macrae as VC failed then had a brainwave that Buddy would have a big night. Still got some premos to come so not to bad .

  15. 749/7/ R Gray

Impressed with the performance of debutants R Gray and C Wingard as well as E Yeo, I Heeney and B Ronke exceeding his breakeven. Only players below 80 currently is new recruit J Brander and T McLean.

11 players left to play (M Kreuzer, K Simpson, N Fyfe, C Ballard, N Holman, L Austin, J Billings, J Sicily, T Mitchell, T Doedee and P Dangerfield) and can hopefully score 1700+.

Barely makes the radar though as my youngest is in three events at the ISA World Championships in Barcelona this weekend. No sleep for me. 😉

I have Duncan, Danger and Dusty to all play, so should be hitting 1800 with 16 so i will take that happily. Giro did decent for a rookie with 66 but it hurts when Mclean cops an injury right at the start of the game so it restricts him to 52. Glad he played out the game. Doedee was lacklusterin his final game for The Spud Patch so he will lose some money but shouldnt be too much.
New recruit Sicily did well but all i can hope from him is that he plays the rest of the season without getting himself suspended.

Side note: Absolutely gutted about the World Cup result. An undeserved loss just like many of my Supercoach losses this year 😉

    1. Relax about the world cup. Lets be realistic. Australia didnt have a single shot on target apart from the penalty. (The best save was from a french defender turning the ball against his own goal). It was a case of France not being able to unlock our defence as we defended well and in numbers. Australia needs to actually try to win games and you do this by attacking . Hope to see that the next few games otherwise we are coming home. The last few competitive qualifying games all we did is draw and play boring defensive stuff. (Saudi Arabia finished above us remember?) . Bring on Cahill and Arzani: one know where the goals are, the other can create. Sad that we have to rely on a 35+ yo.

    1. A bye player means his team doesnt play!! So I dont understand “team has already played” but for the question, you can loophole any bye player anytime as they dont lock out.

  27. Have titch as Vc. But I am doing OK this round. Will danger push 180? Geelong really want to win. Surly he plays on the ball for one big one before his rest.

  28. Just been doing some price/BE analysis for next week of the players I have or am considering (so should be fairly common among the SCT community). I hope they’re pretty accurate (they’re normally close). They are listed as:
PLAYER- EST’D PRICE FOR ROUND 15 (have used current averages for Geelong and Richmond players who haven’t played yet) – PROJ’D BEs for next week – and finally their NEXT EST’d PRICE CHANGE (based on players scoring their current average score the next time that they play.

Hope it proves useful/interesting to some …

    1. good point. With Macrae now out, depending for how long, he might become a target for some. (Danger and) Kelly for me.

    2. I agree but he has started poorly . I had early faith that wasnt paid off . I had him until round 4 brought him in for $599K (along with 6 other Freo players) and he was averaging under 100 points so I let him go to raise the funds for better value mids that will make me money. Watched him play and there was nothing really different about his playing style so I decided the new scoring just wasnt working for him. His price is still at $520k , 108 average (was 103.9 average before the 159 pts Carlton game, so he is minus on his starting price) He still has some ground to make up on the other top mids but I have no doubt he will. He is going to cost me 2 trades so he better maintain the scoring and please none of the 44 pts he had in round 21 last year

  30. 1749/16played / Fyfe C

Just Higgins to come. 6 snags would be nice.

Used 3 trades just to field 17.

Simpson, Sicily and Giro all went alright though.

    Looking at winning 8/9 leagues.

With the Freo win its been a pretty good week.
