Was thrilled with Greaves and his 1st game with 97 covering Short, but disappointed with my 2 Bombers and Simpkin scoring all 80 or less.
Stuffed up and accidentally left the VC on Titch. So now left with a decision to go with either Neale or Gawn for C. Neale slightly off but playing the Suns but then Gawn has Pruess coming in causing doubts.

I should have 23 playing this week.
My three worst scores currently are Mozzie 24, Ridley 73 and R3 Draper 74. I do still have two rookies yet to play,in Scho berg and Rivers. Projected 1994 with no Max.
Trades made so far.. Nic Nat to ROB. 2 trades left.

So the plan was to get in Gawn for Grundy, and Captain him, if my V/C failed.

With Pruess named, do I stick with the plan ?

T/U Get in Gawn and Captain him.

Pruess is more a back up and won’t affect Max too much.

T/D Keep Grundy, save a trade and get in a better M8

Pruess will share the Ruck and keep Gawn under 125.

If I do pass on Max..

I’m thinking C on Neale or Whitfield V Crows.

  5. Brain fade. How to I calculate the possible point benefit of trading out Williams in the best 18 senario? I have the Perez 50 coming on and still 22 playing. My next 2 lowest are 74 and 73. Let assume the player traded in scores 100. Is it worth the trade ?

    1. Worp the Line, it is finals times. If you have trades, just do it. you can lose a league game by 1pt. Also GWS are generally not very transparent with their players management. I know it is only best 18 and it could only be 30 points gained, but how are your leagues H2H projections looking?
I will not trade only if:
      – I have no match up this round or
-if I don’t play for Overall, or
-if I am ahead on my match up projections, or
      – I haven’t reached full premo yet or have run out of trades.
Otherwise Nike: just do it. That’s why you saved your trades for. Thats me.

  6. Hi Worp,
You calculate the difference between the 18th scoring player and player you want to trade in. What happens is your previous donut becomes 100 and you 18th scoring player pushes to 19 so does not score.

e.g. 18th scoring player before trade was 80, new traded player scores 100, benefit is 100-80, so 20 points.

  7. Hey Pill,
I think any above 2000 will be above average, this week has been a dilemma as in do i trade a prem or injured player and risk being short for the rest of the finals , or do i hope my bench gets me through this week , if you have 2-4 trades left and have scored 2000+ your batting above- imo

  8. Clarification please: I understood that the rule for emergencies differed in ‘Best of 18’ rounds from the usual in that if multiple emergencies are selected on a line, the best of them applies, whereas normally it is the worst of those emergencies that play.
    TU: I’m correct
    TD: I’m an idiot
I knowingly left the emergency on Wicks, even though I had Rivers (82) also as emergency on the mid bench (to cover Jelly). In case Wicks outscored Rivers. However, the Gameday analysis is treating Wicks (33) as the replacement (& non-best-18). I’m hoping this is a fault with the Gameday coding & Rivers score will be included.

    1. The Emergencies are there to cover non 22 starters only and emergencies come on from lowest score first.

The best way to look at the end of the round, if you have a non starter on a line, the emergency will come on. Once that’s been settled everywhere, you get best 18 on field scores of those players (this is where the bye rule comes into play).

The game seems to be working as intended if Wicks isn’t being replaced by Rivers.

      1. I fully appreciate the Best-18 side of it i.e. What happens once the emergency is made the replacement to the non-playing on-field player. My question is about which emergency is used as that replacement.
There was a discussion on this site (I believe around the time that the revised 2020 byes were announced) that made clear that the normal ‘lowest emergency score’ did not apply in Best-18 rounds – rather it was ‘highest emergency score’. I’ve endeavoured to search the site but am so far unable to locate that discussion.

        1. You need two 0’s on field for both emergency scores to count. If you only have one donut then your lowest emergency score takes the field.

  9. Can anyone in the top 250 advise what their projected is? Interested to know how the big dogs are going in what looks like a tough round!
