Punters Club – Pogue Mahone & Burls

Written by Motts on April 7 2016

Pogue is up this week and here’s what he likes:

Robbie Gray first goal kicker. $10 at $17. (Chase the points promo).

Who shot Thebarman & Libran. Race 7, Randwick. $10 boxed quinella.

Preferment. Race 9, Randwick. $10 win @ 5.50

The “reasonably good on paper which should get in and if one leg fails will return the stake” multi.
Port Adelaide
Gold Coast
Geelong
North Melbourne

$50 @ $1.74

With the Masters starting tonight, I’ve wheeled in someone I consider to be a bit of a golf specialist – Burls. He’s a handy golfer that plays off 8 so he knows his stuff. He’s never had a lot of success with the PC (OK, he’s never returned anything) but I feel that’s going to change with these 5 blokes going around Augusta this weekend:

The US Masters Outright Winner

  • Jason Day – $20 @ 7/1
  • Bubba Watson – $20 @ 11/1
  • Dustin Johnson – $20 @ 17/1
  • Henrik Stenson – $10 @ 26/1
  • Rafa Cabrera Bello – $10 @ 126/1

Who is Rafael Cabrera Bello? He’s a future star! Had 7 under in the final round of the Houston Open recently to finish 4th. He’s up from 54 to 36 in the latest golf rankings.

I’ll be up at 4am from Friday through Monday watching the Masters. I absolutely love it!

I’ve also whacked $10 EW on Jordan Spieth to win The Masters at 9 & 3 using Group Bet dough.

Good luck to us all!

    1. Pogue returned $87 on his AFL Multi and had $10 handed back to him on Robbie Gray through a Will Hill promotion so that’s a very creditable $97 banked. Nice job!

Despite giving it his absolute best, Burls still remains winless in the Punters Club.

Spieth isn’t done with in the Masters yet but after a quad bogey on the 12th things don’t look good. I’ve gone EW on him so the least we’ll pick up is $30.

      Up next week is Raj.

  1. I’m watching the golf Motts, the 12th has cost him. Birdie, Birdie to tie so you never know. Well done on your ranking mate, keep it going.

$10 @ 5.50

The “reasonably good on paper which should get in and if one leg fails will return the stake” multi.

  • Port Adelaide
  • Gold Coast

Now with the Masters starting tonight, I’m adding another punter this week to bet specifically on it. I’ve wheeled in someone I consider to be a bit of a golf specialist: Burls. 1. Being a golf tragic on a par with Motts I am having my say as well.

I reckon it is the year of the lefty. $10 on Bubba and Phil ‘The Thrill’ Mickelson.

I am also a patriotic sort of guy being born on Australia Day so I am throwing $10 on Marc Leishman who is flying under the radar very nicely.

Wish I could get $10 on Bowditch to make the cut (or not).

Lets see how wrong I was Monday morning!
