      1. Is there actually an SC score market?

EDIT: This is probably a stupid question. It wouldn’t surprise me if there was a centipede racing market these days…

        1. Yes, you can actually bet on SuperCoach scores on betting sites.

After last week, JPK should be a steal.

  3. OK the first round and this game has done me with SuperCoach. Scoring is rigged to certain players. By the way didn’t have Treloer but he deserves more than that.

  4. Now with the proper scores in,

    4/417, Treloar, WHE, Butler, Nank.

Treloar was acceptable, WHE was friggin amazing, as was Nank, and Butler scored 65 which is also acceptable.

Overall I’m pretty happy with my start so far.

    Another thursday, another tonne average!
Finding some $makers/durable holds in Nank, WHE, and Butler. Each seem to be playing with a well rounded game.

Taylor Adams is playing some good contested footy by the sounds of it
and with Treloar’s stats hes gotta catch lightning soon right?
Hope the good footy continues for the marksmen@SCT!

Hope this week is smooth for all y’all coaches and that we are all in form once the head to head leagues start next week! See a bunch of you then!

    1. Exact same scores as me! Very happy right now, so glad those pre-scaled (?) scores didn’t stand.

And why the hell are you considering trading howe? He’s done exactly what we want from him with a 105 and 89. That’s exactly the sort of scoring he had last year after moving to the backline where he averaged 101.

    Decent enough start!

Nankervis happy at this stage i started with him over Roughy. Pendles solid as usual , Hoskin – Elliott was a lock after i saw him in the pies Intra – Club match. Treloar needs to improve his DE and will post some big scores.

Rance servicable but still looks a bit of his game. Howe ok and will really need his big contested marks to score well. Butler happy enough with his 65 after choosing to field him over Florent , Parfitt or Eddy.

Very happy with the decision to trade in Nankervis for Riewoldt. Looks like rucks could score very well now with the removal of the 3rd man up rule, lots of good ruck scores could also mean they may be real captain/vc options.

A little concerned over the scoring for Treloar like most people, but having been taught by everyone here “Don’t trade your premiums” then i’ll keep him.

  13. And once again we get the dissed owners not understanding the SC scoring system. For those of you not sophisticated enough to delineate between game outcome influence and just getting a kick when it doesn’t matter, play Dream Team.

And I’m a Treloar owner because I believe he will take that next step!

    8

    6
    1. A lot of those dissed owners comments were when he was showing around 80 points, i’ll watch the game when i get home, his ending score of 108 however sounds like it could be right?

      1. Was ineffective in the last quarter mate.

BTW, I’m top 500 in FPL and need some advice. Trade Kun for Vardy and C him? Also, what chance of Son starting?

        3

        0
        1. Ack, FPL, having my worst season since I first played. 🙁

I’d swap Kun for Vardy but no idea on captain. I plan to stick with Lukaku….well maybe Costa….Arghhh….

If I hadn’t had a great Big Bash last season I’d be getting depressed.

          2

        2. Top 500 is a great effort mate!!

I would have thought Son should start.

Kun to Vardy is a difficult one, Stoke will either grind out a bore draw, or let 4 in if they concede one early.

Liverpool missing some key players for the Derby, Could be Lukaku’s day, although history says Everton don’t get many results at Anfield.

    2. Reminds me of Jordan Lewis a few years back. Feels like they need 40 touches to crack a ton. FWIW I thought Grundy and Pendles were Collingwood’s best but Treloar still did enough for a 120. I’m more frustrated about the live scoring not working too well……

      7

      0
    3. I’m not a Treloar owner, but I think a lot of people are annoyed because the scores don’t seem to reflect the influence that players have had on games. This has happened a lot so far this season.

There is also a perception amongst some people here that Champion Data and/or the scoring system is biased for/against certain players, weighting their scores not for what they have done or when they have done it, but simply for who they are. Certainly, the fact that the scoring system is something of a black box does not help with this perception. I will not comment one way or the other on the merit of such conspiracy theories, but I can appreciate where people are coming from.

      9

      0
      1. I think the biggest problem is the live scoring, it looked like Treloar was on 80 ish, which wasn’t fair, however 108 is probably a fair result.

I’ve just watched the game, enjoyed it and made some notes to self, based purely on watching the game and not the stats.

Dusty still needs consideration, even though i can’t pick him as a forward.
Nankervis was awesome, and so was Grundy, at some point i need to move Nankervis to the forward line and get Grundy.
I need WHE in my team before the end of next week somehow.
I also need to Rance later on, though having watched the game he seems a little hard done by with 99 points, thought he should have got a few more than that.

The goal kicking from both sides was abysmal

        7

        0
        1. The problem with Grundy is his seeming inability to score when Cox plays. If he was guaranteed to play as solo ruck every week he’d be in most teams.

          4

          0
          1. To be fair to Grundy, he’s hardly the worst offender when it comes to not being able to score when sharing ruck duties (*cough* Stefan Martin *cough*).

    Pendles, Nank and WHE.

Anyone without Nank and WHE has gotta find a way to bring them in next week.

WHE score means I’ll hold onto NRoo and hopefully there’ll be a clearer picture of how long he’ll be out.

  16. 507/5 (Danger into Fyfe)

My question is, given the shenanigans going on with the live scores, should I roll with JPK into Danger for the captaincy loophole instead, so I’ll be guaranteed an accurate VC score to make a decision on?

A little concerned that I could be looking at Danger on 90 when he’s actually sitting on 140, and then missing out on a big loophole score.

Champion Data need to sort this shit out, because people have a lot riding on these games and deserve better than shoddy scoring apps giving incorrect numbers.

    7

    0
    1. I’ve got four options I rotate through, though none of them are accurate at the moment because the problem is with the source (Champion Data) I believe.

Supercoach Gold will give you live-ish scores on the SC app. Usually a few minutes behind the play though.

FootyInfo is an app you can get for your phone or tablet that provided live stats and scores. Been really good in previous years, but at the moment it’s only showing goals/behinds for each player.

The Gameday thread for each game here on SCT will be updated at the end of each quarter by the wonderful folks in this community.

If you follow SC Paige on Facebook, they also post scores at the end of each quarter.

Once again, though – until Champion Data fix the data feeds, all these places will be showing incorrect scores anyway.

  17. 441 / Danger

    Had Treloar, Pendles, Howe, Nan.

Not a bad start had the VC on Treloar, but when you go at 53% efficiency 108 is about where you would expect including the 35 poss.

Thought Pendles disposals a lot better, Treloar just seems to Bomb it, get like Pendles and look out 150.

    2

    1
    1. Not with premos, you don’t.

Before round one, you clearly had Treloar ahead of him, even with the extra cost factored in. Both players are averaging 34 touches (Treloar from two games, Heppell from just the one). Heppell has scored better, but his was in a winning side against an understrength Hawthorn, while Treloar has played in losing sides against last year’s premiers and a resurgent (and rejuvenated) Richmond.

I mean…if you wanna burn a trade to pick up $90K and probably a similar points average for the year, that’s your call to make. In my humble opinion, you trade a premium if they’re injured, or if their role isn’t conducive to scoring. Treloar isn’t injured, and he’s getting a ton of the footy, so when he tidies up that disposal efficiency just a little, or if Collingwood get a few wins, he’ll be raking in the points.

  18. I c alot of whinging going on and it’s only Rd 2. Remember it’s just a game guys if u don’t like don’t play. I guarantee we will all be screwed by champion data at some stage during season. The site’s called Supercoach Talk not Supercoach Spit the dummy.

    5

    8
    1. It’s a perfectly valid complaint – the whole game revolves around players scoring points. If the people running the game can’t provide accurate scores, then the whole comp is called into question. If a player is showing as being on 80 points with 2 minutes to go, and suddenly jumps to 120 post-game, then how are we to know that the score has been calculated legitimately? If they can “fix” it immediately after the game, why wasn’t it correct in the first place?

      Then you’ve got the stakes.

There’s $1k on the line every week.
There’s $50k on the line for overall.
People have private cash leagues with more $$$ on the line.
And people pay for SC Gold, which is predominantly for extra stats + live scores.

If I’m paying for a product, and I have a chance to win money, then I’d like the “game” to be fair and accurate.

        1. Geez that escalated quickly!! But in all seriousness DE-Score involvements- producing in the clutch moments r the ingredients u need to score well.

  19. Gee , it’s a risk trading a premo so early in the season when they’re not injured, I will be lambasted by the good father with this suggestion, but hear me out.
For what ever reason WHE is almost out scoring Treloar despite their 400k price difference. Eddy has just been confirmed as a late out(dropped from extended teams) I have zero cash to play with.
Corrective trades after the rounds finished.

    TU Treloar Eddy out
    Murphy WHE. In

TD Poor reasoning Don’t trade chasing points

Eddy may dead wood , Treloar will be a Fallen premium at some stage but will be a long way off a top10 mid.Saying that he’s earnt he’s 605k price tag so he’s more than capable of acheiving it again. I’ve seen both games and he has dominated both, will probably get Brownlow votes, there’s something fishy with his scoring.

    2

    15
    1. WHE won’t tonne up every week, and Murphy has had one good score. Feels like a big knee-jerk reaction with little upside and plenty of risk.

      2

      1
      1. To be honest BAps that’s almost what’s been echoed by the SC community over the scoring fiasco of the first couple of rounds, people are starting to beleive it’s rigged.Treloar will always be a solid SC contributor and even at his current ave of 102 has him playing to a price only 60k shy of what he’s currently priced at , which he’s capable of making up over the next few weeks, but people are quite rightly feeling shortchanged with his scoring.

  22. 597 from 6, with Danger into Fyfe.

Very hard to complain about that.Sad Florent couldn’t follow up his great first half with a good second half. Not happy Hanners is having issues still. Seven tackles from him R2, so that is a good sign. And his score right about the same as JPK and Parker, which is part reassuring and part scary! Hope they move him off the wing and back into the middle soon.

Sydney are looking more like Godawful Sliders than the Graceful Swans right now. I have a hard time believing that will last though.

Hope some of my rookies go for decent scores real soon now…..

  23. TO ALL TRELOAR OWNERS..

“Many SuperCoaches have been visibly frustrated in 2017, with live scores often appearing inaccurate, leading to further confusion over the published scores of Treloar. It appears likely that the midfielders scores of 96 and 108 will increase over the coming days” according to champion data!

  24. Good day, Chapperoonies.

I am caught within a conundrum of great stick and need your assistance.

WHE, Nank, Marchbank and Hannar are the bubble boys for next round, but only two can come in.

I’m considering bringing in Marchbank today for my junk rookie, Junker. This gives me a little more flex to bring in another two cows (underpriced ruck gods I was too sceptical about) next week, and three in total.

Is Marchbank worth the early plunge?

    6

    1
      1. DEF: Shaw, Laird, Mills, Hampton, Stewart, Otten (EVH, Junker)

MID: Danger, Kennedy, Bont, Treloar, Fyfe, O’Meara, Swallow, Powell-Pepper (Hibberd, Florent, SPS)

        RUCK: Gawn, Sandi (Cameron)

FWD: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Steele, Roughy, Taranto, Parfitt (Pickett, Eddy)

        167.8k banked.

I need these bubble boys for cash and points and Marchbank this round could bring balance to the force given my weak back 6. I’m just uncertain of his reliability and worth after only one game.

Doing this would leave me with around 36k to play with next round, leaving me little choice but to sideways Swallow or Taranto (performance pending) if I were to go after Nank which isn’t ideal, but he’s absolutely pumping.
Could always grudgingly just settle for WHE and Hannar instead with little work though.

        Thoughts?

        1. How about waiting a week and maybe bringing in Newman from Sydney, who had his first match and did well last night? He is only 123,900 which might give you cash for Nank?

Your team looks pretty decent, and if you need a lot of rookies you could bring in one or two who started R1 after this round, and then two of the three Sydney cows who started last night and have an extra week before their first price rise.

I can’t say anything against Marchbank but I can’t bring myself to recommend him yet either. If you did bring him in 36k would still be enough to bring in the Sydney crew later.

  26. Looking for some advice folks … not sure if i can / should do anything with Hibberd out in Def and Eddy in Fwds out and running with the other “usual” rooks in florent / houston / butler in FWS and barret Pickett parfitt Taranto and SPP in the mids?

Have $190K cash in hand, but with WHE going large he is a must it seems next week and wondering whether or not a side can survive with less cash generating players on all the lines??

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated please!

    1. should probably add the following:
Is there anyone decent to ditch Hibberd for down back, other than McGrath for $211.8
Should I consider downgrading Taranto to SPS to free up some cash.
Should Eddy go to Hannan this week as well
AND next week, given Florent scores, is Florent – WHE the best option?

Many thanks and I’m not sure best thread to ask this of at the moment!

      0

      2
      1. You should definitely get WHE. Nic Newman could be a good replacement for Hibberd. Taranto –> SPS would free up some cash, but by this point you will have used a lot of trades very early in the season. It really depends on whether or not you think the extra cash (both now from the downgrade, and later from the better rookies) is worth it.

Shaw was a big letdown , and Steele not great after trading him for Riewoldt. It has given me the cash though for Strnandica to Witts if i decide to go that way. Already have WHE.

Now to the good for the day. Taranto solid after last week. Beams back to his best , but did send a scare to his owners when he limped off in the last qtr after his foot was trodden on.

The Big surprise was Otten who i have loopholed. Never good to see a player go down with an injury like Jenkins , but was and will be a blessing to Ottens owners as it looks like he will be needed to pinch hit in the Ruck and up forward which is good for his JS.

The biggest star of the day was my POD Ruckman in Stef Martin who donmated around the ground and clearences and really got the Lions back into the contest with his big 3rd qtr. However , Martin was only up agsinst the Dons 3rd string Ruckman.

    Hoping for 2200-2300 from here.

Disappointed with Shaw, Laird and Burgoyne’s performance but ecstatic with Hoskin-Elliot and Otten. Annoyed with the Goldstein news as I brought him in this week to replace Riewoldt thus moving Witts to the bench.

Still have Danger, Selwood, K Turner, T Goldstein (J Witts 100 if Goldy doesn’t play), K Simpson, N Fyfe, A Sandilands, C McCarthy, S Powell-Pepper to play and hoping to score over 2000.
