SCT Coaches Profile – Schwarzwalder

Written by Schwarzwalder on August 21 2018

I guess it’s my turn now 🙂

SCT Alias … Schwarzwalder

Real Name……. Andrew

City you live in …. Lived in Melbourne until 2005, now in South-West Germany since then

Age ….. 38

Height …. 180cms

Weight …. unfortunately, too bloody much!  I blame the German butchers & bakers……and my lack of self-control, of course 😉

Career ….. Worked behind the counter in various TABs in Melbourne, learned the electrical trade in Germany, now ‘Stay-At-Home-Dad’ since 2012

Car you drive ….. Mercedes Benz v220d (due to size of family)

Status ….. Married

Kids …. 2 girls (6 & 1) + 2 boys (5 & 3)

How I Got Here….. (long story short) My family originally comes from Croatia.  They moved to Australia in 1969 as part of the Official Immigration Program that were looking for ‘qualified tradies’ from Europe (my father is a mechanic).  It is a large family however, and parts of it moved to Germany (as well as Serbia, Austria, Switzerland, Canada, USA & Argentina).  I was visiting various family members in Germany in 2004 as part of a ‘world trip’ when I met my future wife……..I moved over to Germany in 2005 and the rest is history…………

Hobbies …. **Aussie Rules – barely missed watching a live game each weekend between 1988 & 2004 (usually a Richmond game but also had easy access to the old Moorabbin Oval then VFL Park in Waverley)

** plenty of Family time (day trips, regular activities, holidays)

** SCT – I don’t consider it as work, so it’s been marked as a hobby since I started contributing to the site regularly since 2015. Now I’m helping Motts in the daily running of operations……and loving it!

Footy team …. Richmond (I have two older brothers……one barracks for Collingwood and the other for Richmond…….I chose the Tigers)

Sporting ability …Played plenty of sport as a kid (footy, cricket, tennis, basketball).  Wasn’t bad at footy, managed to try out for the Prahran Dragons a couple times as a teenager but never really considered due to weight problems.  Played full-back in those times……managed to get myself fit for a couple of senior seasons in 2002/3 and got to play in the midfield (Bentleigh Amateurs).  My claim to fame in cricket was winning the U16 Grand Final where I bowled 6/19 from my 10 overs (leg spin).  From memory we got up by just 15 runs.  Played plenty of junior cricket, not so much with the seniors…….got bored of it fairly quickly.  Didn’t like fielding in the outer on 40 degree days when I could’ve been chilling in someone’s swimming pool 😉

Best SC position …was sitting inside the Top500 after Rd7/8 back in 2016

Best SC overall ….. Top2k in 2015

SCT member …. found the site in late 2013, joined in the Forum during 2014, started contributing in 2015, now helping Motts with the ‘daily operations’.

SCT accolades …. ‘Services To The Site’ in 2015

  1. Great to read this Schwartz and ‘getting to know’ other fellow SCTers through this stream. I have huge respect for the stay at home Dads in the world. Only went back to work 18 months ago (four days a week) but found those early bonding years SO special and rewarding. Priceless.

Dunno how you find the time to do this with four little ones. Whilst it’s so rewarding, it’s much harder than working that’s for sure.

    Thanks and R E S P E C T

  2. Well Done Schwarzy giving us all an insight into the great site leader.

Now in your SCT Profile you forgot to add that you were a member of SuperCoachTalk Punters Club and delivered with some fantastic Soccer and Footy Multis.

Now in appreciation of all your hard work for the site I will be buying you back into the Punters Club by whacking the next buy in amount into Motts Account. The deal is you only have to go around for 2 Rounds and then can cash out again so, hopefully, the PC delivers over the Spring Carnival.
Won’t be taking no for answer so considerate it done.
