SHIELD WATCH

Will Pucovski has passed 50 for Victorian Cricket Team on day one after making 88 and 40 in the Futures League – potential bargain pick-up if he earns a BBL deal.

SuperCoach BBL cheapie Cameron Green opened the bowling for Western Australia Warriors and had 1-15 from six overs after having Travis Dean caught behind.

Melbourne Stars all-rounder Marcus Stoinis smashed 80 off 114 in the Warriors’ innings.

Matthew Wade continued a promising summer with the bat and will resume at 37no for Cricket Tasmania. Alex Doolan hasn’t set the world on fire in T20 but topscored with 115.

Mitch Swepson went at more than four an over and was wicketless.

Daniel Hughes made a patient 60 and Moises Henriques sits at 41no after a rain-hampered day one for Cricket NSW. Both should be prominent members of the Sydney Sixers top order.
