Leaning at this stage with brayshaw but not to sure let me know in the comments or TU TD

  2. TU: Cogs, D.Smith, Crisp, Brander

You guys think this is a good set of trades?

    1. Reasons why Cogs won’t average the 110-115 he needs to be a premium mid?

With Taranto and Ward out for a while and the 0 he scored last year, I think he has tremendous upside

      1. Don’t have anything against Coniglio but if we took out the 0 last year he averaged 108 which is good. However he was quite inconsistent within a five week span had scores of 75,76,207,64,130. The injuries do help him out a lot but needs to be more consistent personally to start him over other premium mids.

    1. Has averaged 90+ multiple times in his career, quite a talented footballer with the highest of job security. Only needs to average 80 to make 150k which makes him an excellent stepping stone. Obviously the risk is his health.

  4. Having a difficult time settling on my D3 and the impact it has on my structure, need everyone’s thoughts:

    T.U: Roberton D3, Anderson M9 and Long F4

    T.D: Sicily D3 and basement rookies @ M9 and F4

Very conflicted. Gut reaction towards Sicily, but I don’t like the idea of fielding a 3rd FWD rookie who’ll score 30~. On the flip side, the Saints’ backline is tumultuous and I’ll have offload Roberton and Long by R11.

    TU Petracca Roberton
    TD Walter Starcevich

It is more the trust issue with Truck that has me questioning myself

    1. not in the first game he didn’t. He had 0/13. Milera, Gibbs and Mackay – 3, Brown – 2, Kelly and Talia – 1
In their second Marsh he had 3/15 and played on once. Others: Gibbs – 4, Milera – 3, Kelly and Brown – 2, Brodie Smith – 1

    Marsh 2, 61 pts off 41 TOG

    1. you can’t trust the flog Scott for him to get, or even then maintain, the RUC role.
Could be Stanley, Fort, Rats or even BLICAVS. Would be an absolute lock if he had the #1 role and RUC status, but he doesn’t.
If Stanley is not named then could potentially risk it, but could end up being an awful lot of cash sitting on your bench = better options!

  7. Anyone given any thought to what impact a shortened/interrupted season may have?

Talk of 5 rounds in 3 weeks with extended benches -potentially opens the door for more rookies to get (limited) gametime. Part of me thinks “Yay – more rookies!” but the other part thinks “Shit – probably less game time for all players, stunting premo scores and cash generation”.

Then there’s the shortened season stuff, whereby there’s less time for rookies to mature, and those last few upgrades people are often doing might not be possible. Could add more value to mid-pricers?

If there’s potential for the season to be interrupted (plus the possibility of extended benches), does that make some of the “injury prone” types like NicNat more attractive, as they potentially get more breaks to manage their bodies through as many games as possible?

And If we do end up with less games being played…do we find ourselves in a position where we can feasibly make 2 trades every week without running out? If so, should we be trading aggressively early in the season so as not to “waste” trades we never get a chance to use?

    So much uncertainty!!!

    1. Yes BB. I’ve been changing my side around as now I think there is less opportunity for rookies to make money. So I have cut back on some premos and added more mid-prices.

  8. With the VFL now suspended, what does this do for rookies trying to break into the main teams and the AFL in general? Sadly I’m not seeing a bright future and if they try to play more midweek games many players have a strong chance of being rested

    1. AFL season be also postponed so won’t matter a whole lot…
They will just have too train the house down like they would in preseason and hopefully clubs still play some intraclub games or organise hitouts with other clubs til R1 and rookies can prove them selves this way…

But agree if they schedule more games a week then teams won’t have a choice but to rotate there squads more often, very much like the EPL depth in your club lists will matter alot…

      3

      0
      1. I’ll be massively surprised if the AFL season doesn’t get cancelled.
Sure it might go 3-4 weeks but once a player catches it that team’s senior list goes into lockdown.

  9. Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury has been unsighted at training this morning, just four days out from the Magpies’ season opener against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.

News Corp is reporting the 32-year-old, who also didn’t train on Friday, has been quarantined away from his teammates after showing flu-like symptoms last week.

  10. Hello Everyone,

    Please Help! thoughts appreciated:

T/U: Whitfield (Fwd), Martin(Fwd) and Ash (Back)
T/D: Whitfield (Fwd), Macpherson(Fwd) and Roberton (Back)

    Thanks!

    17

    7
    1. Would you consider changing your team around to fit Whitfield, Martin & Roberton?

Zerk and Noble are probs better than Ash with both scoring potential and job security, but think Roberton takes the cake and isnt much more.

I think walsh presents huge value he could do an oliver a late season upgrade i think but comes at the price of having too run steven at F3, risky? let me know 🙂

    5

    9
  13. I have one spot left in my team which i keep changing between steven and brayshaw, im not set on either one. Any other viable options from the 300k-400k range i can go instead.

Or with some substituting i could go noble and use the cash to upgrade elsewhere or just have coin spare

TU just stay with one of the ones i have and stop over thinking
TD swap them out for noble and upgrade elswehere

  14. Roberton is a bargain at his price BUT… with Long’s new role running off halfback, does that limit the run that Roberton used to have and therefore limits his scoring somewhat? Worried he will score more like 80 than 90+

    1

    1
    1. Quite possibly, but at his price 80 is still enough to make good money relatively quickly, plus you get 80 points a week on-field for not very much money.

    1. Disheartened by the season being shortened of course. But if anyone’s happy with the fixture changes it’s probably us [Eagles] right, CT? Double ups v Tigers, Cats and Pies was looking ominous.

      1

  16. I completely understand the AFL’s concerns for player welfare and public health, but they should have left the fixture as is and just delayed the season until it was safe to resume as normal – however long that may have been, in fact a bit of footy during the summer would be sweet.

Games won’t be the same without fans, season won’t feel right with 17 games and the flag winner won’t be seen as legitimate- touch unfair for teams with a narrowing premiership window.

The ONLY silver lining is that it looks like we won’t have byes?

    2

    1. I can see the season being cancelled as soon as next week. I hope it’s not, but I reckon it’s a certainty. The situation is fast moving amd unpredictable. Gill’s presser this arvo seemed like they were offering the best they could under the current circumstances (broadcast rights, players salaries, club member payments etc). It’s out of their hands though. It’s been mentioned on here more than once, as soon as a player, coach or trainer goes down, it’s season over.

  17. Can SC cope with the dynamic rounds post round 4 ?
Will rivalry start R1 or R2?
Do we still get 30 trades?
There’ll be no byes !!, but possibly split rounds.

SC might not run this year if their systems cannot put into effect dynamic changes.

    1. Virtual Sports (the company that operates SuperCoach) has been doing this for a long time. They know what they’re doing, and will be able to accomodate any changes. As long as there is an AFL season, there will be a SuperCoach season.

As to the other questions, we’ll likely know more in the next day or two.

  18. For my D3:

    TU- Z Bailey (pre-season scores 78,74) – $263,200
    TD – D Robertson (pre-season scores DNP, 60) – $260,400

  20. Only a miracle will see even a 17 round season. To think players will not be infected by covid-19 would be unrealistic considering the likely spreed to the community in the coming months. Hard not be very flat (depressed even) about the whole thing. Was so looking forward to the upcoming season watching the eagles have a serious crack at the premiership.

    1. There’s still hope. The logistical nightmare to shut the entire world down for 14 days is huge. If we get Zombies I think just selecting all Richmond and Carlton players…runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

      1. Too much money involved for it not to run in some shape or form.

  21. Still hopeful that SC Won’t be a farce with so much uncertainty about the AFL season and fixture. So with news of Houli’s calf injury, I’m thinking that Jayden Short will be the points beneficiary in a big way.

I’m sticking with Sicily, Doc, BZT and either of the following:
    TU Laird, Noble, Ash
    TD Houston, Short, Brander

  30. TU- Sicily

    TD- B Smith

Sicily will have great games but also really poor games.

Will Smith play wing this year? Does that boost his average to 90-95?

    6

    2
  31. 15% reduction in game time. How does this translate to SC scoring? Is 90 the new 100? Will burst players like DeGoey do better than the more consistent scoring players? Will a reduced season mean that Dusty will score big from the start? Is there time to build up cash with our rookies or should we go mid-price from the start? The whole SC game just changed.
Good luck coaches, this will be an interesting year…..M

    1. two cents’ worth …

reckon good rookies will do real good. bad rookies will do real bad.

pick all the good rookies (who don’t ACTUALLY play FWD). pick your three/four captaincy options. pick your locked in value picks.

from there, i tinkered with premo and value until i had a full side i have some sort of confidence in. remember you have trades on your side in 2020!

What are everones thoughts on CRISP and LONG this season

if i go one or even both it will be D2 and F5.

Crisp has been in and out of my side for a while switching with laird.
Long hasnt made it into my side yet but im constantly looking at him.
What do you expect their outputs will be like this season

    1. Crisp shits me – always has a run of good games, always does it at the worst possible time. Start him, he’ll be crap early and go off tap when you bite the bullet and trade him. Don’t start him, he’ll go off tap, convince you to trade him in, and then dish up tripe for the rest of your season.

Yes. I’m emotional. On my never again list though, is Crispy.

  34. So with the rookies being god awful boys I’m at a point where I need to offload Ash to have some back rookies playing.

    This is the potential move:

TU: Oliver, Whitfield, Ash, Brayshaw (FWD)
TD: Brawyshaw (MID), Houston, Macpherson, Petracca

    Comment for something different.

    1. Tough decision Mav. I think it depends on if you value ruck cover over a higher ceiling player. I currently have both, but I’d almost be leaning towards Ceglar given the fact that you have an old warhorse in Jacobs, who may need a rest (depending on what happens with the fixture) Both great selections though.

      1. Thanks for the reply DR.
I really enjoyed the YouTube content through the pre season too!
        Thoughts on Jacobs V Naismith?
I currently have sauce for durability & the midfield at his feet is top 1-2 in the league.
But obviously Naismith saves you that 100k will they average close to the same.

  37. Hey guys, hope your planning is going well!
Need to make a last minute decision here. I’m $800 short of upgrading B Williams to Starc in the backline. (Ouch!)
T/U: Keep Laird as D1 and Williams as D8
T/D: Trade in Sicily at D1 and Starc at D7 (all rookies playing round 1)

With my non playing DPP ruck, not sure if I can afford to start another non-playing rookie (Williams) but am really loathed to trade Laird. Any help much appreciated guys!

    Cheers,
    DR

    3
    1. Did Williams not make selection because he didn’t quite get up, or was he omitted? If he wasn’t quite ready I’d stick with your initial plan mate. If he was omitted, then I think I’d make the trade!
Real tough one. No easier compromise to make on other lines?!

      1. Hey mate,
Appreciate the feedback! I assumed that he just wasn’t named, but will try and look into that now just to confirm. Unfortunately no other compromises at this stage mate! Only other thoughts were Roberton – Cumming or Houston – Weller, but just not comfortable with either. Tough decisions mate! Thanks again champ.

  38. HELP PLEASE!
I need 3 def rookies (already got BZT) and 1 mid rookie (already have Rowell, Green, Pickett, Starcevich and McInerney). Couple of questions…
    -Who should I get?
-Should I pick guys who seem to be better scorers who will hopefully get a game soon (guys listed as emergency or returning from injury) OR pick guys (more likely lower scorers) defiantly playing this week? What is everyone else doing?

    0

    0
      1. Hey Salamander, Is it too risky to pick and just hope they play at some stage? I’m starting to think I’d be better off with scores of 30s than several loopholes. 30 trades with reduced rounds its starting to look like we just trade those rookies like hotcakes

        0

        0
        1. If they’re just bench picks, then definitely. But if you’ve got a half-decent score on the bench and have the E on them (I’ve got John Noble in defence), then a loophole isn’t a bad option.

  40. With current trend of the first two games indicating that winning teams will have better scaling as shown in the first two games. Is it wise to bring in premiums from contending teams? I currently have Oliver but now intrigued with T.Kelly as he might get better scaling. Thoughts?

    TD: Oliver
