Tech League Trade Talk – Rd2

Written by Schwarzwalder on March 28 2019

44 Coaches are vying for the $150 on offer for the Tech League Competition in 2019.  Chips Ahoy! has made our jobs harder this season as we have to seperate the good PODs from the average PODs.  Are there any Coaches making moves straight away to try and gain an edge on the rest of the Group?

      1. No risk no reward. Am i right? Have i gone mad? Time will tell 🙂

Think this team allows a few more early trades than last year. Trading in the tech team keeps me calm from rage trading in the real team!

  1. As much as i want to save trades and not use them all early, looking at next week i may be looking at more than 2 trades. Something has to make way this week then and Collins may be the one i am looking at. The ruck/fwd premos are unsettling too, but is it worth correcting one of them but then for who?

I think I better ask my father on what to do, as it is under his name and he is the coach of the team! 😉

    1. Trading is fun!

Yep, the forward premo’s smell fishy to me, with maybe a little bit of cash to pull out of a Hawkins downgrade (sidegrade?) to T.Kelly this week, and add that to the big stash that was kindly left in the bank – allowing an upgrade next week

So glad Nank is in my wife’s Tech Team because I wanted him in my team but didn’t have the guts to do it! I feel like if he were in any position other than ruck we’d be talking about him as a potential breakout wouldn’t we, with his numbers the last few years? 2017: 88, 2018: 98, 2019: BANG.
Potential for the tech league teams to come up on top with the chance to trade Lobb to Grundy/Gawn at a discount if one of them takes a couple of weeks to warm up to 2019.

Apparently the wife is going to do two trades this week and get the early lead as she chases the big $150!

  2. First two trades money in the bank. Gaff and McDonald for Moore and Parker.
Gaff was treated as 5 week injury, and McDonald, well just no, he burnt me last year.
Then, maybe, two slow earn rookies out and two prems in, then sit back and wait for the first injury ………Probably rd 4……Ahhhh the tormenting tortures.

  3. Wife started badly, 42nd overall I think.

She thinks trading Gaff straight out this week to a Cogs/Sloane type might even catch up some points lost.!!
Doubtful but we did trade early last year and whilst we never cracked top score, we (she) won the Granny which kept us (her) interested all year.

  4. In the FWD line, you probably want Dangerfield and Kelly at some stage……four Cats??!! Is that sustainable? Chips Ahoy has made it really tricky this season…….

    1. Not sure if all have recognised this but looking at the bye rounds, 4 cats just create bigger problems. Take a look at rd 13 bye round and then count the amount of players. Makes it harder to bring in Grundy or Gawn now…..

    1. The Melbourne Cup is never one by the leader after the first few hundred meters.

Its a long season Mick 🙂
