By now, everyone should know that with SuperCoach this year we have rolling lockouts. And with rolling lockouts comes the ability to take advantage of the captaincy loophole which effectively gives you two bites of the captaincy cherry (NB not available in SC Draft).
But are people aware of the Emergency Loophole (trademark pending)? This is where, given the right circumstances, you can take advantage of a great score from one of your emergencies.
Two weeks ago, I had Nick Vlastuin E’d up on my bench. On the Saturday arvo, he want bananas against Port for 105, I then moved Gibbs (who hadn’t played so could be moved and wasn’t playing so would score an egg) onto my field for Luke Brown (who also hadn’t yet played so could be moved). I then got Vlas’s ton.
This week, I’ll E Sam Dwyer on my forward bench and if I’m happy with his score tonight I’ll shift Neade into my forward line from my midfield bench (switching him for Wright) to take advantage of it.
If this is something you haven’t already taken advantage of this year you’ve been missing out. Give it a crack this week!

Know about it; don’t use it.
Currie munch every week if possible
You’re not just a pretty face Motts! 😉
Use it as often as I can.
Using Dwyer this week, named him as emergency, see how he goes Friday night, 80+ and viney (not playing) will be on the ground for Evans.
Also using Thurlow, Webster and Saunders for the same loophole in the back line.
I’ve set my score target for theses rookies at 80.
What do people think is a good target score??
Quick question for everyone
May be able to use the E Loophole, but…
T/U – S.Mayes
T/D – Gawn
I am going to try it for the first time this week. I have the opportunity to use it across 3 lines of my team.
I will place the E on Thurlow and if I like his score I will place H. Shaw on the ground and take off Terlich. I’ll also place the E on Wines and put Crouch on for Lonergan if he scores well and then Macaffer as emergency and take staker off for Daisy.
There should be no reason why I don’t get maximum points from my starting players this week. :S
It doesn’t work well when you’ve only got 1 playing emergency #nothappyjan
Absolutely love the site and the info from you boys and the community, so don’t take it as I’m having a crack. Here’s the but…pretty sure every other supercoach website out there has covered this topic and I just assumed you blokes had at some stage, and now you’re claiming trade mark??
I’m using it twice
MID – Kommer Emergency if I like his score I’ll swing Viney to the Mids instead of M Jones
FOR – MaCaffer Emergency if I like his score I’ll swing Rowe to the FOR if not then I’ll play Daws and swing COX to the forward
I use the emergency loophole as much as possible
But not this week
– All 8 defenders are playing, all 4 rucks are playing
– No bench in my mids and fwds
Yeah I have been using it lately but is so much work.
This week FWD Macaffer E Sinclair on the ground Staker waiting in the wings.
Rowe on the Rucks Mumford E gawn waiting in the wings.
Last week however got burnt. The Biggy Mummy 66 points thought not enough put Gawn on the ground for a great 18 points
I did however gain an amazing 6 points by having the E on Kommer then putting Rampe on the ground to only score 48 points versus Kommer 42 points.
Then I decided Staker 73 points were good enough and did not put terlich on the ground for him to score 110 points so even with the Emergency loop hole I managed to loose points. .
In the simpilest way can someone tell me what it is..dont get it..
The emergency loophole is a must use strategy. I used in on Sam Dwyer two weeks in a row and he produced 99 and 123.
Used it on him again last night and he only managed 51.
Thumbs up – place kerridge on the field, he will score more than 51
Thumbs down – keep Dwyer’s 51
Should I take Macaffer’s 79 instead of playing Staker?
T/U: Staker won’t top 79
T/D: Back the old fella.
Welcome on to the ground Koby, Viney swap with Jones on the ground & shazamm…..126 of the best off the (E) on Koby!
Captain loophole – if I have 2 emergencies in the same position and 1 didn’t play do I get his 0 or the score of the one that did play???
I’ve got the same question…
Always the one that plays, if you have the ( e) on two bench players on the same line & they both play….you get the lowest of the 2 I’m pretty sure!
