TRADING HISTORY

After Rd3 L.Ryan (WCE) & L.Davies-Uniacke (NTH) OUT for E.Richards (WBD) & J.Henry (GEE) IN

Just an average week for the TEAM again last week.  Luckily we’ve received a wildcard into the SCT Cup after last years winner never got back to us.  We’ll need to get back somewhere to our best form if we’re to be competitive in the SCT Cup.  Line-up is as follows…….

I see a couple of trades that need to be made in the TEAM but I’m not the only one who decides.  If this was your personal Team, then what would you change about it?  Enter your trade suggestions into the comments below (I’ll be doing the same) and we’ll see what the Coaching Staff has to say about it.  Can’t stand Hibberd any longer?  Same goes for Billings?  Need to get Coffield in this week?  Polls will then be conducted when the teams have been announced on Thursday night.  Tell us what you think, TEAM…………..

** UPDATE at 8pm on 19/4/18 **

Sorry for the delay this week, Coaches……..I’ve been thinking long and hard about our best options for the week, taking into account the more popular trade options and all.  I question whether Brayshaw (FRE) to Coffield (STK) is worth the trouble at all so I’ve put that move to a poll (simple yes/no).  Josh Kelly is an elite sitting on the bench for an indefinite period so he’s gotta go.  We can afford literally anyone, question is whether we WANT literally anyone?  Dangerfield is due to drop further in price so we can still wait if we want.  Dom Barry is our loophole option this week so I’ve split up the Captains polls just to be clear.  I’ve come up with the following polls

Do we HAVE to get Coffield in?

Brayshaw to Coffield - is it worth the trade?

    1. If concerned about Kelly:
Bonner & Kelly to 2 of: Merrett/Coniglio/Gray (didn’t even realise we were missing cogs)

      1. Anyone care to elaborate why not? Finlayson will replace and outscore Bonner in defence, plus we’ll be bringing in an extra premium for more points. Bringing in Coffield doesn’t bring extra points. Next week would be a better week to generate cash. The earlier you can bring in a premium, the better. Sideways trade don’t move you up the leaderboard

    2. Zerret won’t make his 130 b/e.

Coffield on his own is probably worthwhile, but only if you need a m/d or are after an m/d yo pair with finlayson and are keeping finlayson longer term.

  1. Straight swap Kelly to Oliver.
With lingering groin problems appears to be a week to week proposition and will leak cash with sub-optimal scores. I turfed him for Martin last week. Oliver will be top 10 mid, and is consistent.

    Brayshaw to Coffield.
Gives us a little extra funds in the kitty to move on a Bonner or Holman to Merrett next week. Merrett may not finish top 10 mids but will be close. And at a ~$485k price tag next week is too hard to pass up.

Billings will be up and down, and will be up soon. Should still average 90+. Hibberd will still score 70+ minimum every week so won’t bleed too much cash in the short-term. We can have a another few weeks to assess him with Lewis out with a broken hand.

    1. I think Merrett is set to go down in price for a few more weeks, so we can wait a bit longer on that move if he’s really worth getting.

        1. … then we should at least wait to see if that eventuates. Even if he does hit the 120-mark, he will still drop in price (BE=130). I have to agree with Wheels, we need hard evidence first, and should he not perform this week he is definitely set for a couple more price drops at least (upto $50-60k more if he can’t cut the mustard).

          1. Would like to wait. But conversely, he scores 130, then has a Breakeven of about 55. Then we miss a possible double downgrade or getting a cheap Merrett

    2. I had other trades in mind at first…..but with the news on Kelly, I tend to agree with Yiorgi here. Kelly to a fellow elite plus Brayshaw to Coffield……

  2. TU: Sideways Hibbo
    TD: Sideways Billings

We could do neither, but with 28 trades left, sitting on our hands isn’t getting us anywhere!

      1. Either of these. The team needs to upgrade a mid pricer/rookie to a premo this week. The scores are a bit below where they should be and straight swapping won’t do any good

  3. If it were mine, I’d prioritise corrective trades first, with a couple of exciting rookies to come on the bubble next week.

    I’d go
Hibberd out for either Savage or Sicily, and
    Billings out for Gray
    – we can afford it, but obviously Sicily would leave us with $75k extra in the bank.
If people feel Billings should be given a bit more time then so be it, but Hibberd has to go for me. A bit more info on Kelly before the week’s end would obviously better inform our decision(s) too.

Even though Brayshaw may not hit his BE this week he will come very close and will still have a couple of subsequent price rises in him (albeit very small) before being set to pasture. He may just ‘pop’ as Naughton appears to have and that in itself just reinforces giving priority to corrective trades at this point. Anyway, just my thoughts. Looking forward to hearing/reading everyone else’s.

    1. Please ignore what I said above. As Yiorgakis correctly points out, they have both haemorrhaged to the point we shouldn’t experience too much more financial pain.

Oliver and Coffield in for Kelly and Brayshaw makes a lot of sense. Can then loophole Coffield too (via Barry if not selected) against Holman or Banfield. Plus it gives us the flexibility going forward to trade a DEF, sub in Finlayson to play down back and have the DPP option with Coffield longer-term.

  4. Most likely wanting to double downgrade next week. Mirra any guelfie(sorry about spelling) downgrade Bonner and whichever forward. So I suggest focusing on midfield. Kelly to Oliver.

  6. Kelly to Zerrett, who is hopefully on the way up.

Billings to JJ Kennedy, who should kick 10 against Carlton!!! 🙂

  7. My thoughts are:
If Kelly plays, let give him a chance. Likely to smash out 110 against the saints.
Billings is spluttering, could even be a chance to be dropped. Happy to upgrade to Gray.
I think we could also chop Hibberd. No more chances and we only accept mediocrity from cows. Move Finlayson back and bring in Cogs or Zerrett.
Who’s with me? You know it makes sense!

  8. Just don’t feel confident in a week by week injury player. Been burnt alot in the past buy this circumstance. When you do finally pull the trigger you think why didn’t I do it weeks ago. Just my thoughts

  9. Is it just me, or is anyone else having trouble seeing the team.

In any event, I believe we trade Kelly by vote for his replacement..he wont play this week and we gotta get moving.

No for Coffield. Wait another week for cows to fatten and the difference in cash needed between Coffield this week and Mirra/Guelfi next week will be much less….those two will both likely make more cash anyway due to lower prices. We than look at likes of Zerrett if his form looks good over next two weeks…he wont be rising in the meantime I wouldn’t think.

  10. Update on J.Kelly does not sounds good.

Source AFL web site – “GREATER Western Sydney are again likely to be without star midfielder Josh Kelly and ruckman Rory Lobb for Saturday’s clash with St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
“Josh is going OK, (but) we’d like him to be going a little bit better,” he said.
“He’s been doing some running, but the footy side of it is what I’m alluding to.
“He had a fair bit of this last year and managed it, but some weeks can be not as great as others.
“We’re not concerned in terms of (having to) rest him for six or eight weeks, but we’re making sure that when he does participate in full-on footy again, he can cope for the week after and the week after that.”

  11. I would wait one more week with Kelly if still in doubt then move to a cheaper Oliver who will have a BE of 99 Rd 6 if he continues on his avg; In the meantime O’Meara could plug that hole and be a decent cash generator

    Holman > O’Meara BE-18
    Billings > Sicily BE 81 DPP Fwd/Def

  12. We must be aware of c loop this week when considering trades…I’m sure plenty will get caught out. Barry is the only loop for us at the moment..and to do that we need to take either heeney, doedee, finlayson, cripps, garlett or fogarty as v. Or we outright pick a c from dusty, titch, fyfe.

I favour cripps v, into dusty if need be….means Barry can’t be traded.

  13. VC option fairly thin this week

T/U Parker (against a Depleted crows midfield)

T/D Coniglio (Against the saints midfield 😉

    Comment Laird

  14. Apologies for not getting another poll up, time was simply too short for me (time difference). Coniglio comes into the TEAM but Laird will be VC.
