  1. I see Mason Cox has been upgraded to the senior list. I reckon he’ll nail down a spot in the Ones. Good upgrade option in a few weeks…

    1. I would have thought Jamo was the better matchup for Boyd as well. I think Jamo out is bad for Weitering too, might have to play more lock down.

    2. i don’t know, but i was at the game last week and sam rowe was terrible and i didn’t think jammo was that bad

    1. Facing Catta is Cattas’s Challange, we have 7 onfield POD’s before trades and Bartel v Gibson was one of them. Hoping for a cracker of a matchup and I really hope it doesn’t come down to McTips 60-70 as cover.

    1. May be a fitness issue and being punished for those few undisciplined free kicks last week? He has seemed to have faded each game towards the end. I would have thought Cockatoo would have got dropped before McCarthy (especially based on last rounds performance).

Will use him to loophole Menadue and Papey now. To valuable with a BE of -48 to be ditching and I’m sure he’ll come back in soon.

      1. A lot of mosquitos at Geelong, Lang, Gregson, McCarthy, Cockatoo and Menzel.

Menzel is a gun, but will need to be nursed through the season, Lang is probably the more consistent and can run through the middle, Gregson shows promise and Cockatoo is a game-changer. McCarthy might just be unlucky this week. Hopefully will be back soon as also shows a lot of promise.

    1. Hewett – Gone for me. BE 18, McVeigh back in. Will struggle to get another run anytime soon.
McCarthy – Hold. BE -48 and should get another run soon.
      Gresham – Gone last week.

    2. Got Hewett and McCarthy, keeping both. Not enough growth out of Hewett yet, and no rookies on the bubble that I want to bring in.

    3. Loopholing with Hewett. McCarthy will get another go soon.

Darcy Tucker or Christian Petracca will be along soon. Be patient.

  5. Desperately need to remove Mr Lobbe from my ruck setup (never should have picked him). Need to sacrifice Wines to get Goldy though.
T/U Wines to Hartley via DPP.
T/D Wines to Callum Ah Chee via DPP.
Comment: this is a stupid idea and I should do something else?

Both thumb options give me the cash required for Goldy to join the team.

    Please help!

    1. Don’t trade Wines if you can avoid it. Is there another way to raise the cash to get Goldstein, next week maybe?

  6. Interesting Mills named in the mids and Parker at full forward. Surely not.
But should we be holding Mills given McVeigh back in town?

Was half hoping Mills or Menadue would be dropped so my upgrade to Zorko/Danger/Parker could be justified but not sure what to do now.

    Thoughts?

    T/U – Hold Mills/Menadue
T/D – Too many points foregone. Upgrade now

    1. Hey Weendog I reckon it’s good news 4 mills, will play more middle of the ground and hopefully repay his truckload of owners with improved output.

    2. Thanks all.

A fairly unanimous vote!! Will hold Menadue/Mills.

May consider a Dunkley upgrade as he appears to be the least likely to return and I still have Petracca as a loophole option.

    1. I am going to be loopholing Menadue with Davis (by keeping Brad Crouch another week), so hopefully we can get a decent score out of one of them!!

Got a feeling that Menadue might go OK at Subi.

    1. AB – Even though Woosh named Hartley as potentially coming out of the team for Grima at some stage, I would still go Hartley this week.

That Geelong team is looking pretty tough to stay in at the moment, therefore surely the job security for Ruggles is not great? Geelong have Enright to come back next week, and J Kolod was omitted despite playing OK.

Having said that, if Ruggles survives the cut next week, then I will be bringing him in to my side.

      1. hmmm thanks for the comment
sounds like both JS is pretty average
ruggles basement price + have brown as other bench player so would be good to have someone from another team for potential loopholes, however, hartley is on the bubble and named on ground but this grima comment is a concern

  7. Who should I trade in Parker or Zorko?

I am a bit more confident that Zorko will be top 10 forward over Parker being top 10 mid.

    TU Parker
    TD Zorko

    Cheers

    16
    1. Parker will go close enough that it won’t greatly matter. He’ll be at worst a couple of ppg outside.

But Zorko is definite top 6 forward material and hasn’t had a price rise. Seems the obvious choice.

anyone who could lighten this situation for me would be great

  9. I’ve got a crazy idea but could work long term. I’ve got alot of the cash cow rookies and 180k spare.
    Would be super easy to bring in gray or Parker this week, but would this be a better option;

    BCrouch to Aaron Young
    Brown to Caleb Daniel

The theory behind this is to let 70% of my players appreciate ALOT then only require single trades to premos. I’m overseas for 2 weeks on Monday too so unlikely to burn trades during this time. Could be 2 great PODs and I don’t mind steering away from the boring norm at times.

Young is averaging 100 and has a -50B/E.
Caleb could end up being a F6 if he keeps playing like last week and he’s due for price rises too.
The team below is what it would look like with these trades complete; please talk me into or out of this depending on your thoughts.

Laird, Johanneson, Lonergan, Dea, Weitering, Adams (Tippa, Ruggles)
Gaz, Fyfe, Danger, Shiel, Libba, Cripps, Kerridge, YOUNG (Davis, MILLS, Hewett)
    Goldy, Nicnat
Buddy, Hall, Wingard, Wells, Benken, CALEB (Papley, McGovern

    3

    12
    1. Don’t like either tbh. You have enough mid-pricers (JJ, Lonergan, Shiel, Cripps, Libba, Buddy, Wells) – don’t need more.

      6

      0
        1. Crouch to a better defender (Doc, Kolo, Burgoyne) and Lonergan into the mids for a week or two?

Lonergan vs the Lions could go 80+, which would make him a little cash and drop his BE next week to around 60. Compared to Crouch – at least he’s on the park.

  10. Evening SCT Crew,

I have a bit of a problem. 4 non-playing players atm (Read, Grimley, Hewett and Dunkley), makes cash generation an issue.

What’s the best way out here? Can do something like a Hewett – Hartley but not sold on his JS and last thing I want to do is trading a non-playing player to another player with dodgy JS.

    Cheers SCT!

        1. If you have one bench player mid playing you could hold Hewitt/Gresham and perhaps trade one of them next week to a Ruggles/Byrne or even Petracca if named – no rush if you have cover IMO

Personally I have McCarthy, Pertracca and Gresham not playing and will be trading Crouch this week

          0

  11. Hey guys,

Here’s my team following up after Rd 3:

Def: Shaw, Houli, Bartel, Weitering, Adams, Dea (Brown, Hartley)

Mids: Ablett, Fyfe, Danger, R.Gray, Wines, Wells, Libba, Mills (Menadue, Hewett, Davis)

    Ruck: Martin, Gawn (Wyatt)

Fwd: Hall, Barlow, Greene, Kerridge, Papley, B.Kennedy (McDonald-Tipungwuti, McCarthy)

I’m pretty inclined to hold off trading this week after going Gresham – Papley and Rocky – R.Gray, scoring extremely well for Rd 3 and additionally because there is no key carnage for me this week in terms of in’s and out’s.

But my trade finger is still itchy on the likes of Greene. I could potentially go via DPP trading moving Greene into the back line and grabbing Laird or Johannisen and cut my losses now, while moving Adams up to the Fwd line in this move. Means I am playing another rookie in my Fwds though.

    What do you guys think?

T/U – Cut your losses with Greene, go for it

T/D – Hold fire, give Greene one more chance

    Cheers guys ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. If he is useless, why would you get him in the first place?
You got him for a reason. Have some faith. It’s only been 3 rounds.

    2. He’s doing ok and made 16k. He would be doing significantly better score and price wise if he hadn’t had the big collission with Cannon.

Hold fire a couple of weeks until there are more obvious targets.

  12. Thoughts on Aaron Young?

I’m thinking now that Hewett has been dropped with a bit of cash i have lying around… can I keep the moo train chuffing? Bridge the gap to at later up to a prem and down from Mills or another rookie as they go ripe?

    2

    2
    1. Been watching him for a couple of years. A good talent who has been badly affected by the sub rule.

A solid chance to hold position for maybe another 3 or 4 weeks to bring you up to the byes.

      1

    1. Not a Suns fan but have seen him play.

Some have gone as far as to say he is the best full forward in the competition..
I know Mooney and Browny think very highly of him.

But he is a KPP and comes with the inherent risks.

      1

  13. What to do with Brad Crouch?? Have 95k left. Do i do a straight swap with similar price or rookie? Was thinking Wright from Carlton or M. Crouch from Adelaide.

    0

    0
    1. Wright will get a few good weeks price rises off his 103, and his job security is solid. Undervalued and underused at Adelaide.

For me it’s a week to late to jump on and you are better with Young or taking Lyons, who should at least hold his place until Brouch is back, and really should be in the team before some other names.

But, if you are struggling with numbers, the dpp and js that wright provides, and a good 100k cash increase to come makes him a viable option

  14. Sam Mitchell, Luke Parker, Dayne Zorko or Heath Shaw as VC?

  15. Who has the better job security out of T Ruggles, C Byrne and T Lee. Chris Scott was quoted “Tom [Ruggles] played well. He’ll be difficult to keep out. He’s in pretty good shape to hold his spot.” But I am unsure about his job security due to C Enright and J Kolodjashnij not playing this week. Tom Lee will be playing his first game since Round 14,2014 is named in the backline and should play the next 4 games while D Roberton is injured. He has spent the last 12 months transforming into a key defender. C Byrne had a good game last week but I don’t know if he is in their best 22. Would like an opinion on who has the best job security and the ability to increase in value.

    0

    0
    1. Lee will be an interesting one to watch but it’s certainly been a long time out.

None of them inspire me with confidence in JS. I’d go Hartley above any of them, with Lee second best option.

      0

      0
    2. On Byrne – as long as he keeps offering a link-up option out of defense for the Blues, he’ll hold his spot. Reads the ball fairly well, offers run out of defence, and is a quality user by foot.

He’s only 21, is our nominated rookie for the year (so not subject to an LTI player returning), and is firmly in Carlton’s plans moving forward.

Played one game last year, came on in the fourth quarter as the sub and picked up 9 touches. In his first full game, he had 20 touches off half back and looked tidy without being spectacular. He should play the season out and will likely improve week to week – expect to see more rebound 50’s, bounces, tackles and an improvement in disposal efficiency as he settles into the pace of AFL seniors.

  16. Thinking of just one trade this week, got some cash left over from Rockliff to BenKen last week and I’m on the fence with what I should do:

    T/U Menadue to Parker

    T/D Hewett to Zorko

    Thanks for the help guys.

    8
      1. My ideal trade would’ve been Hewett to Parker but I’m about $20k short of that one unfortunately.

Thanks for the votes and for the reply Stevo, looks like Zorko is the winner.

  17. Hey guys, when do we generally get to find out the final interchange bench line-ups for Sunday, and how?

I just have a cautious eye on Barlow. Thanks!

    1
  18. hey all!
    just a trade question
trading out rockliff this week — considering trading him to parker or zorko. i feel like zorko is very very likely to end up a top 6 fwd with ease. he is also due for a fair price rise this week..

    TU – Zorko
    TD – Parker

  6. Those selected teams are a bugger.
Irons dropped, SMac possibly the sub leaves me with Matera as seemingly the only choice. ๐Ÿ™

  7. Bit the bullet this week

traded Atley out for Harris = better job security I reckon
tarded A Moran out for Z Smith= better cash cow

I have a pretty good cash bench so looking forward to bringing the premiums in later in the year

    Go Blues

It’s the derby, and they’ve dropped Cornes AND Pearce. Two of their only decent players.

  10. Help! I know what i want to do, but cant make supercoach do it!

I have Puopulo (DEF), and McKernan (FWD,DEF)

I want to move McKernan from FWD to DEF, and sell Puopulo. In his place i want to buy a new FWD.

It wont let me move McKernan to Puopolos spot (because Puop isnt a FWD to sub like that), and it wont let me trade Puopulo for a FWD (because Puop is a DEF)

    HOW DO I DO IT?!?

  11. Hey Guys,
    First year back into Supercoach.
Not looking like finishing too high in the overall competition.
Any tips on how to go about using your trades to win your leagues?
    Cheers

  12. I don’t think Otten will be the sub, most likely will be McKernel. Crows forward line didn’t function too well with both McKernel and Tipsy down there. I’m more concerned with Lower. He might even be the EMG.

    Thoughts on who to play:

Goldstein vs Freo – assuming 211 plays (thumbs up)
    or
    Z. Smith vs Melbourne (thumbs down)

I have the delicate Fraser as well, but won’t bother with him.

    Cheers

    I hate the sub.

I Farking loathe ‘soreness’ being used as a reason for omission after round 4? (geelong, the bell tolls for thee!)

  16. Multi-Bye pressure anyone??
Luckily, I anticipated this in my original team selection (not having too many guns from any of the multi teams) so I only have God, Missy and Roo on the pine.

But, OMG I didn’t anticipate the Sub Crisis I’m faced with this week!!!

Lower, Curnow, Darling, McKernan, Otten all at risk being named at I/C 4 or worse I/C 5,6,7!!!

    Any advice on the following options?;
Currently on the bench = (Player)
    * Sub Risk

    (Curnow*), Harris or Swallow? M5 & M6

    (Darling*), (Matera), Richardson F7

    Otten*, (McKernan*), Lower*, (Stanley)? D6 & D7

  18. On the sub rule… do you think next year SC should change the rules to allow some kind of substitute emergency? Like if you’re starting player is named as sub after the lockout, your emergency can count for them? I think it’s just too much of a lottery right now, you’re essentially guessing if players will be named as sub or not. Yes, you could argue that this helps people who study the game and therefore have more chance of knowing who the sub will be, but clearly it’s going some way to ruining this year’s SC. Thoughts?

  19. hope this doesnt sound like a dumb question,,,but cant decide over 2 positions,,,,

    A. Krakouer or D. Swallow or D. Harris

    Z. Smith or R Warnock

Krakouer hasnt had a huge one yet but is due

  20. Quick poll guys.
Ive got irons on my bench and hes been dropped.
Ive got 2 suns in my midfield.
Ive got no money but all my trades.

“Thumbs Up” to keep irons, hoping he gets recalled.
“Thumbs Down” Trade Irons for Trent Mackenzie from GC ( The only player I can afford who will go up in price straight away )

    Cheers

  21. In a pickle here

Will cop a donut in my midfield this round and was pondering if I should do either of these trades, not to keen to trade, but Savage looks to jump in price much faster than bewick, and Montagna seems to have lost some form

    Bewick –> Savage (Thumbs up)
    Montagna –> Pendlebury (Thumbs down)

  22. I guess ill join the mini polls, seems to be the thing to do, so:
    Irons->Curnow(Straight swap, have 100k) UP
    Keep irons DOWN.

    Thumb away!

  23. I have a big trade dilemma: Curnow. His got a BE of -66, which means he’ll still sky rocket in price if he scores low. Is it worth bringing him in? What do you think of this:
Straight swap: Curnow in for Dave Swallow?
I’m not sold on this trade, but I really want to bring Curnow in.

  24. With Stratton out hurt Suckling’s scoring seeing as it is likely that either Sam Mitchell or Luke Hodge should drift a bit further back to pick up the slack?

  27. Geelong goal-sneak Mathew Stokes has withdrawn from the Cats’ clash with Sydney Swans at the SCG on Saturday night. Geelong Falcons product Allen Christensen, who played in last week’s win over Port Adelaide but was omitted last night, comes back into the side, while key defender Tom Gillies has been added to the list of emergencies.
