Witherden & Brown featured heavily in Trade Talk till now. Who are you upgrading to? Which line do you still have to upgrade?
Thoughts on T Stewart to T Adams thus moving H Shaw to D7 for the remainder of the season and 2 DPPs to cover midfield injuries.
TU: Good idea
TD: Reconsider and grab a forward instead (Heeney/Yeo)
Too many peopl thumbs this up without knowing the rest of your team. Stupidity honestly. Go with your gut, and what your team needs.
Im ranked in top 300 – listen if you want.
I totally agree. Ppl have downgraded my options. If I listened I would have made major mistakes. I went with my gut and now I’m in top 500. I wonder how many players here are actually good, in top 1000 for example. I find not enough people don’t play risky..that’s the way to get to the top.
Still nine rounds to go….
If you’re in the top 500, then looking to the masses for advice probably isn’t the best. Really, you should be giving us advice! So, when is Collingwood being demoted to the thirds?
Ease up, Champ. Last two winners of the overall comp both used the site for reference. Last years winner Graeme was in one of our TEAM leagues. The polls can be used as a guide, but ultimately the final decision is always yours. The site is set up to help each other out where we can. We hope it adds to your enjoyment of the game. Good luck for the rest of the year, Tono!
Who to trade out first:
T/U Beams
T/D Stewart
T/u – Witherden
T/D – C Brown
Can only pick 1 of these this week and don’t have enough trades to pick one next week
T/U – Trade Shaw to Lloyd
T/D – Hold Shaw
Trade Zac Williams to Lloyd. This will give me the money to get gawn in next week and complete my team with 5 trades left
T/U: Good idea
T/D: Bad idea
How bow now? Williams out with a hamstring
TU – Gawn, Goldi, Sloane
TD – Gawn, Sloane, Titch (Ryder stays in ruck)
FWIW, I think it would be absolute madness to jump on Sloane at the moment.
Will be set to have a date with 3 of the best taggers going around at the moment in Curnow, Vince and Greenwood over the next 5 weeks.
Yep, I’m regretting the Sloane trade already. Everyone has now seen how effective the taggers are with him. I could’ve gone Dusty instead (and cheaper!), that decision has killed off my season…….
Dare I ask what round you pick him up. Was it Rd4? When I upgrade JOM (that round) it was between Dusty/Sloane and Bont, who were all flying the first 3 weeks. I went Bont (cheapest of the lot (just) and so I couldn’t complain about his CD love anymore).
Funny enough since Rd4, they have netted: Bont (1,061 points), Dusty (1,092) and Sloane (1,084) so no clear wrong move. But moving forward, Sloane looks to drop off, especially with the run of taggers he has.
I went with Sloane just a few weeks ago, before they played Geelong at Kardinia Park. Sloane was $580k and Dusty was $550k. Dusty has three big tons since then, Sloane has a couple of 80s & Team Schwarz is struggling big time 😉
Curnow is NOT going to play this weekend. Good news for Rory – I got him in 3 games ago – not been good!
Thoughts on Jack Billings?
TU = Has really taken off after his slow start
TD = Will crash back to earth
Billings is certainly a F5/ F6 option.
I rate Yeo, Doll, Macrea, Greene and Heeney ahead of him.
With his new high half forward role I think he should be more consistent than the KPP players like Buddy, JJK, Lynch, Cameron.
Billing has scored well while the Saints have played ordinary footy . The lad is finally delivering on a more consistent basis and he looks very switched on . The only thing that worries me now is that he will get alot more attention from opposition.
The Saints try to get the ball into Billings hands as he has excellent foot skills. He plays high enough up the ground to get plenty of touches, is one of the Saints few outside runners and he kicks goals. He’s a natural SC player.
Monitor Billings as he went home ill today from training. They still expect him to play, but depending on what he has i.e. cold or the old Delhi belly then it may affect his score this week (but surely not long term)
Thanks everyone. Since Gary is playing I can safely, (ish) bring in Witherden this week, and decide about the non-Gawn upgrade next week. Nice to be able to get insights from people who closely follow each team.
9 trades left.
Stewart and SPP out for Witherden and Bont.
This finishes my Mids.
Danger, Dusty, Sloane, Bont, Jellwood, JPK, Neale , Fyfe,
Bench. Berry, Witherden, Pickett.
Although I’m going early on Bill (Withers) I feel he has the best JS of the downgrade options.
I hate having to trade SPP, but he is the only real way to get Gawn next week.
Now I just need to figure out what to do with Shaw, Lynch , Fyfe and Nank.
Lift boys. Lift!
(Bill) Withers will be able to “lean on ” that Pickett fence.
Berry good Bruce!
Didn’t know if anyone else would get that reference or if it was
“just the two of us”. (ok that’s enough bruce )
Have to trade out T.Stewart this week regrettably for final defensive upgrade.
TU: Rance
TD: Hibberd
Fyfe to Rance via perryman dpp
Then Myers to withers
Bank enough cash for gawn
My team is full premo
8 trades left
T/u do it
T/d don’t
Defence: Laird, Roberton, Lloyd, Rance, Shaw and Hibberd (Melb)
Bench: Ryan and Hibberd (Nth)
Mids: Danger, Sloane, Bont, Adams, Treloar, Fyfe, SPP and S Selwood
Bench: D Lloyd, S Bolton and J Cousins
Ruck: Goldy and S Martin
Bench: Ryder
Fwd: Macrae, Dahl, Lynch (GC), Steele, Heeney and Greenwood
Bench: Hannan and Parsons
9 trades and 289K
Am first in my cousin’s league and am versing 17th placed. Considering no trades however have a concern over Fyfe, Shaw and Steele as well as Lynch.
Am not going to move Ryder to forward so don’t bother suggesting it. Open to other suggestions though
Look at up upgrading spp or scooter . You have the cash and more trades up your sleave then most
You really do need to move Ryder forward though. What a waste!
Wallis – is he a worthy F6?
Beams and T.Stewart injuries (more so former) have come at bad time as only 8 trades and $7K.
Thumbs UP: Beams to Bont
Thumbs DOWN: Beams to Lloyd (with T.Adams moving to mids)
Current team:
Def: Docharty, T.Adams, Laird, Touhy, M. Hibbert, Shaw – T.Stewart & Berry
Mid: Danger, Pendles, JPK, Sloan, Fyfe, M.Murphy, Beams, S.Selwood, – Myers, Cousins & Bolton
Ruck: Goldy & Ryder – Preuss
Forwards: Yeo, MacRea, Dahl, Wallis, Nank, Greenwood – Parsons, C.Brown
Thumbs UP (Bont) means no cash. Would then take probably another 4 trades for Gawn & J.Selwood. 3 trades left for finals.
Thumbs DOWN (Lloyd) gives 295K for next week going Stewart & Parsons to A. Witherden & Gawn (Ryder now F6/F7). Then hopefully Scooter to J.Selwood the following week. – 4 trades left for finals.
Thoughts and comments very welcome. It’s not been my year, but hoping for at least nuffy GF win in cash league (just need to finish 9-12th as currently been unlucky in cash league). Should get % win this week in cash league, but with my luck this year i’ll probably get rolled!
Cheers for thumbs up / down verdict. With limited trades and Scooter Selwood out i was looking more at Lloyd.
SCT – best SC site by a country mile…
My team is at full (Pseudo) Premium. Im including Newman Witts and Nank
Mids are: Danger Pendles Dusty Ablett Hanners Fyfe Murphy and Beams (S.Selwood Barrett Cousins)
Forwards be: Yeo Heeney Greene Dahlhaus Wallis Nank (Greenwood Brown)
So im upgrading Barrett and tossing up between Bont as a bargain high ceiling premo mid or Macrae as a premo mid/fwd which will give me the top 6 forwards plus Nank as well as dpp flexibility. S.Selwood will become J.Selwood in a couple more weeks..
Will have 8 trades left
Cast your votes coaches
TU: Bont
TD: Macrae
Doch, adams, laird, hibberd, newman, lloyd (shaw, stewart)
Danger, dusty, titchell, treloar, pendles, murphy, dal, scooter (fisher, perryman, cousins)
Grundy, witts (cameron)
Heeney, macrae, greene, nank, lynch, greenwood (steele, eddy)
11 trades left, 79.2k in bank.
Suggestions?
upgrade one of ruck to kreuzer or gawn, get rid of nank
Maybe Stewart – Witherden
move Dal forward and trade
Steele to Premium mid
Im torn on my last major trades. I have 270k in bank with 6 trades left . T U – Hannan to Bont ( Greenwood dpp) and have Fyfe as my bench cover. This leaves me with ryder and the struggling nank in the ruck T D – wait a week and hopefully turn spencer ( currently r3 )into Gawn if he drops to the low 500s . Then Greenwood stays at m9 and nank becomes f7 . Thus Unfortunately missing the bont
Wait a week for Gawn would be my suggestion. Leaves you with decent bench cover.
(NOTE: I’ve just posted this in Polling Station, but, just in case nobody is looking at that anymore, I thought it might be worth posting here as well).
Given that Beams will be out for 3-4 weeks, we should have a Trade/Hold poll for him.
I think at this stage unless you have decent cover and sub 4 trades, it’s a must flick or maybe wait one more for all those falling mid premiums
is sandi back this week?
tu – yes play him
td – no (put nank to ruck to avoid a 0 – have to swap with D. cameron) from sydney
can i put doc vc into danger c this week? there is a game on when the carlton game is finished
TU – yes
TD – no (there will be a lockout)
Is Cox worth bringing in?
TU: Cox this week, Witherden next week
TD: Witherden this week, Cox is a waste
Who to trade out this week to generate some cash for GAWN next week
TU: J Stewart
TD: Ainsworth
Stewart has the better fixture and is more likely to put up a huge score
I want to include Daniher in my captain/Vice discussion this week as I think he will go huge vs Brisbane at home.
TU: Danger into Daniher- its Danger
TD: Daniher into Titch- another 50 disposal game?
Comment: You’ve lost it go Danger into Titch.
Danger into Titch
how about t lynch to witherden
then myers to rance
I will keep fyfe and nank for 1 more week
can/will daniher win the coleman medal?
4 behind the leader with the easiest run home definitely a good chance.
For my last midfield spot
T/U Merrett
T/D Martin
OUT: Barrett and Taranto
IN: Witherden and Yeo
Leaves me with approx. $60k to get Gawn in next week and then to upgrade for my final mid spot (still deciding between Martin and Zerrett).
TU: Good trade plans
TD: Rethink the trades
11 Trades – 102K – Thinking Beams to Neale or Yeo. Any other options you thoughts?
Def: Adams, Shaw, Doch, Touhy, Hibberd (Melb), Newmann (Ryan Hibberd (Nth)
Mid: Danger, Pendles, Fyfe, JPK, Merrett, Bont, S Selwood, Beams (Berry, P-Power, Cousins)
Ruc: Martin, Sandi (Strnadica)
Fwd: Nank, Dahl, Macrae, Lynch, Buddy, Greenwood (Parsons, Eddy)
What rookie (cheap player) under 120k has the best job security in fwd line?
Tu – beech
Td – brown
comment – other
Scooter to Cripps?
TU: Good, Cripps will only get better
TD: Nope, Cripps isn’t good enough
Is Newman a keeper ahead of Tuohy?
Currently I have one of them at the D7 spot and it feels like a waste. I could downgrade one in the next round or two which would help improve the trade bank balance a lot.
Newman:
FOR
– Scores well. Doesn’t need to see 30 possessions to go 80+. 6/10 games he’s played this season have been 90+ scores.
– If Sydney drop out of the finals race he’ll surely continue to play considering they’ll have nothing to play for other than pride and getting experience into their young group, which Newman now seems to be an integral part of.
AGAINST
– Was surprised that Newman was playing up on the HF flank last game. He kicked a couple of important goals late but still only scored 90. what would his score have looked like if he didn’t kick them? He’s a beast off HB but if his role is going to be inconsistent then for SC purposes he’s gone.
Tuohy:
FOR
– Good consistent role off HB. His scores can be a bit hit or miss but generally his role doesn’t change which is good for SC.
– With Stewart out with injury Geelong may look to feed Tuohy the ball more as their primary exit player from the back half.
AGAINST
– Doesn’t go big. Only 3/13 games he’s scored 100+.
– Good record at home but Cats only have 3 more home games this season.
Flip a coin?
I have both , one of them will probably become a Roberton or other top6 def by Finals time. Will look at the draw before making a decision, both been great and haven’t disappointed so there’s no urgency at this stage.
8 trades left. Need to use another two trades to be full premo leaving me with 6 trades. Not sure if Sandi to S Martin is a luxury trade or an upgrade.
Is it wise to trade out Sandilands to bring in Stef Martin?
T/U Get Martin
T/D keep Sandi
Got 12 trades, looking to go sandi to gawn next week or one after
Have shaw and t stewart in the backline and j lloyd in the mid,
217k in the bank
thoughts on best possible trades
Dump Shaw, maybe for Rance
And Stewart for withers
Thanks Tim
Move Lloyd back and upgrade Shaw to a premo mid via dpp?
Yeah i dont mind that thanks jimbo
With Williams out will Shaw have a bigger role now though ?
Have Bont, JPK, Jelwood, Pendles, Zerrett, Neale and Danger. Looking for last cheap mid.
TU: Cripps
TD: Wines
Others (Shiel?)
I think Cripps may just shade Sheil from here.
Cant really go wrong with either.
Don’t go Wines!
Myers to Bont.
Who to trade out keeping in mind the other will stay on my bench for the remainder of the season.
Trade out.
TU: Parsons
TD: Hannan
who to put on field-
T/U greenwood
T/D shaw
Finishing off my fwd line this week. Am deciding between Macrae and Greene.
Currently have Dahl, Nank, Heeney, Wallis, Yeo and Greenwood.
TU Macrae
TD Greene
Greene injured hammy
Incorrect. Williams did. Greene came off and had his ankle looked but club expects him to play.
just the 1 trade this week , Scooter to Loyd
Which ruck?
T/U Gawn, who has a tough run during finals. Downside, a lot will have him soon.
T/D Martin, who has 3 Gabba games during finals. POD. Priced reasonable now.
Thoughts?
Worth going Witts to Gawn next week?
Maybe 30 points difference at best?
T/U: Yes
T/D: No
(Have Nank in my forward line)
Cheers gents.
Best option?
T/U: M White (will probably score better and JS)
T/D: Witherden (nice DPP with Adams)
t/u: z.merret
t/d: titch
From yesterdays poll:
Who would you take to till that final MID spot?
Zach Merrett (ESS) (57%, 103 Votes)
Tom Mitchell (HAW) (43%, 77 Votes)
T/U – T Mitchell
T/D – Neale
VC on who:
TU – Bont v WCE at Etihad
TD – Sloane v Blues at MCG
