  1. My backline has been by biggest worry this year. It has my two lowest priced players in Newman and Drummond both sticking it up back there. I have 3 trades left and I think one of them has to stay.
    What do you guys reckon?
    T/U Newman
    T/D Drummond
P.S Went Newman over Deledio at the start of the year to save 40k. Bad Idea!

  5. Thinking about trading Jarryd Blair to Jonathan Giles via moving Roughy to the FWDs, which leaves me with 159k, then upgrading Bernie Vince to Andrew Swallow or someone else around that price, which would leave me with about 106k left. Good idea or not?
    T/U Good idea
    T/D You could do better

  6. Hi, I am thinking of trading out cloke in finals have 3 trades left and in top 4 so would like everyone’s advice. T/U Cloke for Pavlich T/D Cloke for Beams, or would you keep Cloke and trade Sam Shaw for Beau Waters instead. Thanks for help.

  7. Ok I can make one more upgrade for the year.
I have to decide whether that is in the backline or Rucks. I have the money to get anyone in either line.

Backline: Deledio, Goddard, Scotland, Birchall, H.Shaw, Lake, Yarran (Newman, Spurr)
    Rucks: Roughead, Giles (Stephenson, Campbell)

T/U: Newman > Waters/Carrazo (meaning full premium back line apart from Lake/Yarran but playing Giles.
T/D: Stephenson > Maric/Jacobs/Cox (meaning full premium ruck but have to play Lake and Yarran in the first final)

I have a feeling the reverse trade button will be getting a hammering this week! Cheers for any advice

  8. Players to Look at in the 2012 Supercoach Finals.

    Defenders:

    Brett Deledio – $ 552, 300. Avg: 117.5 Proj 3 rd Avg: 119.

The best Defender in Supercoach by a mile; if you don’t have him, you’ll be torn apart. Averages 12.9 PPG better than the second best, Heath Shaw.

    Brendon Goddard $ 445, 800. Avg: 101.6 Proj 3 rd Avg: 81

Goddard has turned a corner in recent weeks, and for averaging over 100 points, is an absolute steal at this price .

    Sam Fisher $ 387, 900. Avg: 83.2 Proj 3 rd Avg: 86.

Has a 3rd avg of 97.7. If he continues to be played in the position he is now, he might continue averaging around 100.

    Midfielders.

    Gary Ablett $674, 700 Avg: 137.9 Proj 3rd Avg: 138.

The Little Master is a lock in for any team worth its gumption. A Perma-Captain option, Gazza has an astonishing 3rd avg of 162. Pure class.

    Joel Selwood $550, 300 Avg: 121.3 Proj 3rd Avg: 107.

Ultra consistent, Geelong’s hard nut captain is a major boost to any Supercoach side. Love him or hate him, get him.

    Marc Murphy $521, 900 Avg: 110.2 Proj 3rd Avg: 104.

With Kentucky Frying Juddy’s return just around the corner, Marc my words, Murphy will score and score well.

    Rucks

    Ben McEvoy $ 521, 500. Avg: 103.8. Proj 3 rd Avg: 107.

St Kilda’s only ruckman available, McEvoy shoulders the burden as the Saints try to keep pace with the top 8.

    Jon Giles. $ 397, 500, Avg: 91.3 Proj 3 rd Avg: 93.

A lot of us (myself included) jumped off this guy when he went 54-73-51-51. Since then he’s repaid the faith of those who kept him by gaining a second wind and scoring 112 and a massive 177. Giles scores well in GWS victories, and with winnable games against GC and MELB to come, has certainly done enough to warrant a stay in sides who have him.

    Forwards:

    Matthew Pavlich $ 636, 600 Avg: 112.2 Proj 3rd Avg: 132

Look! Up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? NO, IT’S SUPER PAV!

Freo’s captain fantastic has breathed in the Purple Haze and dragged his team into finals contention and Supercoach who have him have enjoyed every minute of the journey. Pavlich, in his never ending quest for Anchors, dead birds of prey and the Coleman medal has gone 175, 113, 160, 108, 179 in his past. He plays Melbourne in the SC final.

    Patrick Dangerfield. $564, 700 Avg: 112.2 Proj 3rd Avg: 115

Quick question? Who averages as much as Super Pav and is yet 70k cheaper. It’s Dangermouse! Adelaide’s in form midfielder, while not quite in the stratospheric heights of Anchor-Man, has a 3rd avg of 132.7. Has Fremantle, Brisbane, Melbourne and GOLD COAST in the Supercoach Finals.

    Paul Chapman. $ 468, 800 Avg: 103.3 Proj 3rd Avg: 92

I don’t know much about this guy, but Chapman sounds close to Champion, so that’s good enough for me.

So there you have it, a small sample of possible options to jump on in the Supercoach Finals.

  9. I have been on 2 trades for 3 weeks and copping donuts because I was safe at the top of my leagues. Now it is crunch time. I need to get rid of Broughton. Any ideas on who I should buy. I will have $377,600 to spend.

    Any advice is welcome.

  16. I can afford to make these 2 trades

  17. My trade idea is Franklin – fyfe
    And Kruezer – Sam Jacobs

I could have had nic nat but Jacobs has a good run home.

    Good moves?

  18. This could be a crazy move ….But what do you guys think about Lance Franklin traded out to bring in Beams?

I know Lance has Port (from memory) this weekand and I think Hawks better run home than Collingwood.

Im thinking this because Lance could take a while to get going after his injury and not score as much. Or he might not (but prob will) get named this week.

Even if Lance is named I’m still considering it. Could be a good pod not having him maybe.

Or alternatively, other trade I’m considering if Nick R (who has a pretty good run home) or Dusty Martin out to bring in Stevie J as he has capacity to go larger.

What do you guys think? Am I crazy on the Lance front Thanks for your help!

  30. Dane Swan! Silly me for taking the gamble on him at the start of the year. Knew he would let the team down at some point. Ok so here goes…

In the top 4 in all leagues
    3 trades
Have Pfiefer as bench cover in the Mids
Have Cloke and Smedts as cover in the Fwds (if Franklin plays)

So option 1 is trade Swan for anyone I like
Option 2 is swap a DPP fwd with Pfiefer and bench Swan playing Cloke or Smedts Fwd

  32. Thank God I do not have Swan, you always ride you luck hitting finals.
Hale what to do boys, surprised me of late as per Giles.
Port and GCS next two games, was planning an upgrade, however think a Goldstein, Hale combination over the next two will not be bad, if I get through make the trade against Sydney to perhaps Nic Nat, or even Jacobs if he is playing round 22.

T/U Keep Hale next two then trade.
    T/D Trade Now.

  34. Out: Porplyzia, Shaw
    In: Goodes, Duffield
Leaves me with 1 trade. Also enables me to move Newman to D8 and put Duffield D7 and let Newman cover for injuries/resting.

    Thumbs up- Good trades
Thumbs down- Save at least one of them, too risky to only have one trade left for remaining finals.
Also worthy to note I finished top 4 in my main cash league, so cannot be eliminated this week.

  35. Hi everyone,

  36. Won last week but got knocked out of 4th on percentage 0.07 mind you. Now in a do or die situation, you boys have been a great help, would like the opinion on what I face this week, Opponent named Second. The Differences per line. Providing no trades of course.
    B: Carrots V Scotland, Goddard v Johnson, Birchall v J Gibson, Waters v Lake, S Shaw v Ellis
    M: Watson v Selwood, A Swallow v J Kennedy, Mitchell v Goddard.
    R: Goldie v Cox, Hale v Jacobs
    F: Rioli v Sidebum, Steve J v Zorko, Martin v H Bennell, Goodes v D Smith, N Roo v A Saad.

T/U Should be safe and win
T/D Should be worried and hope for some injuries.

  39. I have Swan Chapman Franklin and Taylor Adams (bench) not playing.
Thinking of trading Chapman/Franklin to Beams (move into mids and Swan to bench), and Adams to Stevie J/Fyfe. Who should I get rid of?

    T/U Franklin
    T/D Chapman

  40. With Franklin not returning and Swan out for 2 weeks, I have some hard choices to make as I prepare for my elimination finals.

I’ve got this trade idea. (2 trades left)

    Broughton – Beau Waters
    Swan – Fyfe.

This will give me a team of

DEF: Goddard, Deledio, Scotland, Carrazzo, M Johnson, Waters, S Shaw (Ellis, Smedts)
MID: Ablett, Pendlebury, Murphy, Priddis, Dal Santo, Shuey (Crozier, Couch)
    RUC: Cox, Goldstein (Jenkins, Campbell)
FWD: Fyfe, Zorko, Dangerfield, Martin, Hale, Goodes, Harvey (Franklin, Tomlinson)

This means that if Franklin returns next week, I can slot him in and swap out any of my forwards or midfielders for a FWD/MID DPP to sub or play on either line.

Thumbs up if it’s a good idea.
    Thumbs down if it isn’t.
