Trade Talk R20, 2014

Written by Motts on August 4 2014

If you’ are reading this message it is more than likely that you have made it through to the finals in your league. Congratulations!!

No doubt more than a few of you burnt some unnecesary trades over the last couple of weeks with the late outages of Sandi, Buddy and Mitchell.

Have you got many left? What are your plans for this week? Hold onto them for any more late outs that require a sideways trade or work on making the team better?

  2. If I had trades I’d use them….Pav, Goddard, Mitchell, Dunn all underperformed this week and Gray and Swallow better get up or I might as well start mad Monday now

  3. Was lucky. Sitting in the top 2 with 3 weeks to go and 2000 overall (so no chance at overall glory) I rode with the punches in the last few weeks saving trades and money. Finished 3rd and playing the person who beat me this week by 60 after I took 2 donuts.
I’ll bring in Bartel this week for Walker which will leave me with 2 trades and $250,000 in the kitty.
This is my team, does the SCT community have any advice on who would be a must to bring in?

Backs: McVeigh Swallow Bartel Hurn Suckling Mitchell Emg: B. Martin Aylett
Mids: Pendles Selwood Kennedy Priddis Liber Beams Stevie J Murphy Emg: Acres Honeychurch
Rucks: 211 McEvoy Emg: Brown Currie
Forw: Boomer Danger Parker Zorko Franklin S.Martin Emg: Pav Cameron.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

  4. Want to ditch Suckleberry Finn and Clutch Wingard but a double trade would be needed to raise funds and with only 3 trades left ill be left to the Supercoach gods

  5. Used a trade last week to bring in Gray and that didn’t pay off with his 49. Need more from him this week.

4 trades left with elimination finals everywhere no money in the back with wingard my concern.

  6. Will upgrade Miles this week. 100k on the dot to add to him which gives me about 567k to play with. Who would be the best option for that price? Got 5 trades so could downgrade if needed, but was hoping to save that incase Swallow etc wouldn’t get up.

  8. need to finally get rid of wingard- but for who? i have parker, harvey, danger, martin and zorko, and can afford anyone.
so do i play safe with the highest averaging players like gray, martin, franklin or roughie or be a bit tricky and look at pav, tex walker or even petrie (who has a great finals draw). H2H only, have 6 trades and came in 2nd so hoping to win and have the week off.
    T/U play it safe
    T/D take a punt

  9. No trades this week Hanging on to the 3 sitting 2nd in the main site with my mates.
This is also the biggest use of the Psyche out and most “Crap” spoken between us.

I have really held some trades back McGovern 110 covered Buddy 0.

    Cotchin has improved 2nd Half.

Roughy has given a bit when needed.

    Chappy 119 Last 3 Weeks.

Cloke gave me 107 on the weekend.

If not I would have probably None left with no chance.

Business end the trigger can now be pulled.

  10. Finished second on a highly sabotaged supercoach league where players owned multiple teams. I have 6 trades but now to 4 after these 2
    Goddard ——-> Rockliff
    Wingard ——–> some $100,000 player

    Next week or week after
    Marc Murphy to fyfe
Leaves me with 3 trades to do upgrades or for late changes (Fyfe)

    TU: Rocky and Stef Martin

    TD: JPK and Boomer

  18. I’ve got no trades left.
I’m not in the finals in the leagues that matter.
My draft league has three rounds left but the leader is 10pts clear on top.

Just not sure what to do now. Ideas??

  21. Waiting on if, and how long, D Swallow will be out. If he out for one he might stay in the line up, but I have no cover thanks to Georgiou (has been a solid captain for two weeks running though) and Bews.

One trade remaining for the year and 5k in the bank.

Trade options are either sideways Swallow, if out, to B Smith, Hodge or H Shaw or even weighing up swapping Georgiou for McStay who true to his name has actually managed to keep his spot in the Brisbane lineup.

  22. Let’s try this one … Is it worth bringing in Broomhead for Shenton? Will Broomhead keep his spot?

  23. Stevie J to Callan Ward at this stage, leaving me one trade left. Unfortunately have Pav on the park, but McGovern is cover there. Also have D Swallow so will see what happens there.

Came 1st and 3rd in my two leagues, so looking to win both to get the week off next week. I don’t have Fyfe, and can’t quite afford him, so hoping Ward is a good POD (as opponent has Fyfe but no Rocky..)

  24. Have the double chance but looking at getting in Fyfe this week. Unfortunately he actually went up in price this week! The question is who goes for him Dalihaus or Zorko are the choices I think with Roughy hitting form. Also concerned about my cover with Laidler and Honeychurch dropped recently.

I have 6 trades with 227 k in the bank. Looking to use two this week so which other move to make. Get some cover as Zorko to Fyfe would leave 85 k to upgrade/downgrade someone like Laidler or Honeychurch as I have no cover in the mids or backs.

My other thought it whether Swallow is fit for this week and to upgrade him as then it coudl be Fyfe and Hanley in.

    Team

D McVeigh Bartel MItchell Bitchall Swallow Enright (Laidler Clurey)
M Pendles Rocky Kennedy Selwood Delsanto Beams Murphy Zorko (Honeychurch Acres)
    R Sandi JAcobs (Thurlow Clurie)
F Danger D Martin Dalihaus Gray Parker Roughy ( S Martin Kerstin)

Any thoughts would be most appreciated and let me know what you are thinking this week and I can help you too.

  25. As I didn’t make the top 4, I’m facing elimination. I have 4 trades left and would rather go out fighting. I can’t afford Rockliff but who would u suggest out of these two guys to give my team that extra boost?

    Thumbs up – Callan Ward

    Thumbs down – J P Kennedy
