  1. After passing up Zach Merrett for Luke Parker last week, I’m still keen on getting him in and Toby Greene is looking very vulnerable.

  2. Thinking of getting rid of Lonergan and Greene. Have nearly two hundred k in the bank. Just not sure who to get? Parker and Zmerret a good idea if I can afford to?

  3. I think my experiment of a couple of mid-pricers is not working out so well.
I am considering Sam Gray to Montagna and secondly Lonergan to Johanissen
I have just over 436K in the bank so $’s not really an issue

      1. I reckon JJ has had probably his hardest game (Bar maybe a tag) might sound funny after a 70 but I’m more confident in him going 90+ than i was last week

  4. OK Rage trades at the moment….

    T/U:
    Greene to Buddy
    Lonergan to Houli
Will be left with $1,800 in the bank…

    T/D:
    Greene to Dusty
    Rich to Houli

    Thanks,

    1. How can you hang onto Daniel Rich at the moment?? No rocky to keep them distracted and his attitude when he was tagged pretty much tells you how he feels about his club currently.

    1. Why trade Birchall? He’s had two decent scores and a 75, which isnt terrible. JJ showed today what happens when he isn’t allowed to run free, he ended up scoring -3 points in the final quarter.

  5. With Robinson back in the side, I’ve got zero injuries, so I’m sitting on my squad this round, no trades for me.

  6. Is it to much of a side ways trade if I go Lonnergan>JJ?
The plan was to wait til they play The Hawks then bring him in.

  7. Lonergan>Laird, Sgray>Dalhause me thinks. Both players being traded out we’re tracking nicely at half-time in their respective games but went missing badly in 2nd half. Also from what I’ve seen both lacking clean disposal efficiency. So proven supercoach pedigree over essentially a couple of grafters!! Zorko the only other fwd option being considered.

    1. I have had the same quandary.
In the end I have elected to trade out S Gray for Montagna but retain Lonergan for the moment.
My reasoning was the S Gray was losing value while Lonergan was at least holding his.
In addition my forward line was weaker than my backline.

  8. I’m tossing up Hartley, to get him I’d have to trade either a rookie that isn’t mooing yet or Lonergan/Rich. I’m leaning towards Mills atm

  9. Don’t think I have any reason to trade this week

Have Barlow & Sam gray but think I might give them another week or two

Only other concerns are Dunkley& Petracca not playing but Petracca should be in the side soonish

    Thoughts on mills progress?
    Is Dylan Shiel injured?

  10. Whats everyone’s thoughts on Tom Scully? Appears to be taking his game up in the absence of Treloar and is incredibly fit! Has had the best time on ground % for any midfielder at GWS and is only getting beaten by the key defenders. 27, 32 and 29 possessions too showing hes getting plenty of it.

Reckon I might jump on now before his price goes up too much. What are your thoughts SCT?

    1. He’s looked bloody good these last few games, but I’m not sure about him as a SC prospect. As he’s listed as a MID only, he’s a no for me, as you can bet the house he won’t be a top 10 mid come season’s end. If he was also listed as a forward, I’d be looking at him as a POD, but alas he’s not.

  11. Considering Hewett to Hartley, or wait a week for Ruggles. Will trade Brad Crouch for Parker if not named to play on Thursday.

    5

  12. No trades this week. I’ve already made 2 correctional trades last week. If there’s one player I wish I hadn’t of started with its pendles but he’s still scoring tons…you can’t make too many trades at the start or you end up running out and copping donuts, which hurts a lot more than a 100 from pendles

    10

  13. Robbo has been reported and it looks like he could miss upto two weeks

T/U: if misses any games swap him for Zorko
T/D: no matter the outcome keep your premiums

  14. time for Lobbe to go trading to Goldstein for Gawn/Goldie Combo! 363K in the bank so won’t be an issue!

But will wait until teams announced as I have donuts in Brad Crouch on my field and no bench cover!

  15. What’s everyone’s thoughts on James Kelly as a POD? Averaging 111 per game. If he keeps this form up could be a top 6 defender by seasons end. Only concern is will he be rested at some stage?

  16. My only concerns (before newtons law pops it’s head up again this Thursday at around 630pm) are Rich and Crouch. I’m finding it hard to make the case to hold them if they aren’t picked this week. Sounds like there are a few ‘fringe’ players on the block this week (robbo, sgray, lonergan, rich, crouch). Would love a write up/poll on this topic from one of SCT experts? Hold or Sold??? This site is my saviour!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I’m hoping Crouch plays at least the next 1 or 2 games to get a bit of a price increase then I will ditch him for Priddis.

      9

      1
  17. Current Team

DEF: Laird, Adams, Weiering, Dea, Johannisen, Kolodjasni, AMT, Brown
MID: Ablett, R.Gray, Danger, Libba, M.Crouch, B.Crouch, Parish, Rockliff, Mills, Davis, Gresham
    RUC: Gawn, Jacobs, Grimley
FWD: Hall, B.Kennedy, Wells, Franklin, Kerridge, Waite, Papley, McCarthy
    + $333,500 in cash

I’m thinking of doing these final two correctional type trades and then sitting on my team for a few weeks besides maybe downgrading to other rookies for cash generation (i.e. Ruggles)

    Rocky/Jacobs to Parker/Goldy leaving $151,500 in cash.

    Thoughts?

    13

    2
    1. I’m holding lonergan for now. I’m hoping he can ton up and go 400+ before I trade him. Mills still has a low break even as well. Maybe wait a week and see. Keep an eye on ruggles

  18. What does everyone think about the following…

    T/U D. Rich/Tippett Out — Heater/Parker In?

T/D NO! Stop the urge to rage trade! (Mainly Rich as Tippett is doing OK at the moment, but Parker is very tempting!!)

    TIA Everyone

  19. I didn’t trade Barlow last week, so I either saved myself some grief or delayed the inevitable.

Not that happy with my ranking (18,527) or that I only won 3/10 league match-ups this week so I will bring forward my upgrading schedule and start culling rookie after the next round for upgrades. $140k left in the bank helps this along.

I’ve got Oscar McDonald, Dunkley and Gresham who all didn’t play last week, so I think I will cull 2 of them for rookies (most likely OMc and Gresham) for Hartley and another bubble rookie, if there is another one (if not, I might not use the other trade and hope my guys get back in). I’m bringing in Ruggles (if selected) next week for whatever rookie has the highest break-even.

    1. Mundy is out for a few more weeks so Barlow is pretty safe in the midfield unless Lyon plays funny buggers (again).

  20. Just reading on AFL.com.au that Nathan Grima will be considered for the Bombers this week. Plays a similar role to Hartley, something to keep an eye out for on Thursday evening.

    1

    1. For those wondering.

“Grimesy reckons he’s ready, he’s said that for a few weeks. He’s upright out there, so that’s good. He’s ready to go,” coach John Worsfold said on Monday.

“We’ve been pretty happy with Michael Hartley, so we’ve got to weigh all that up, but Grima’s available this week. We didn’t really consider him for selection last week [as we] wanted to get him as fit as we possibly could first.”

      0

      0
    2. Grima only had 12 touches, 2 rebound 50, 1 inside 50’s & 7 marks for 88% of game time. I’m guessing a few more weeks in the magoo’s before he comes into consideration IMO!

But in saying that he has got a mature head for footy, just not sure he’s match fit to run out a game with the big boys again yet!

  21. tossing up between bringing in parker, gray or fyfe. i know fyfe’s a beast but a bit concerned with how freo are travelling this year and whether he’s playing injured, and as a swans supporter i’d love to bring in parker, but can he keep up his scores with all those swans midfielders competing for the ball? and then of course there’s robbie gray, who’s a pretty decent POD at only 11.7% ownershipโ€ฆ..
    T/U fyfe
    T/D parker

    cheers

    4
    1. thats the only reason i didnt get parker to start but he is proving me wrong. swans have so many good mids but he seems to be the cream of the crop at the moment. be intersting to see if he holds the maantle over kennedy and hanners this year. but could have all 3 of those by years end, id go with the cheapest as all gonna be similar i reckon.

      1

      0
    2. Yeah I’m not really sure about that theory re not getting enough possessions in an already strong mid set up. Some of the great Cats team of yesteryear for example, with Ablett, Bartel, Corey and then Selwood in the Cats premiership twilight years managed plenty of the pill between them when they were on the winner’s ledger.

On current form, Sydney appear to be a top 4 Team but then again they haven’t really been tested yet. We should have a better idea after this weekend.

  22. Not liking Jesse Lonergan at all. Even though he’s playing in the midfield hes playing a tagging role.

Don’t have much spare cash, is there anyone worth getting for under 400k?

  23. So I used my first trade last week – Lyons out for Papley. Probably a waste of a trade, will most likely use Lyons as a downgrade target before his third game. Ah well.

Anyhoo, here’s what i’m thinking this week:

    Wingard out for Hall
    Rockliff out for Fyfe

(I have Hannebery in the mids, so prefer not to have Parker in there too. Other mids are Danger/Ward/Libba/Wells/Kennedy/Parish/Mills/Menadue/Davis)

Madness? (thumbs down) or not bad (thumbs up)?

      1. Hammy issues don’t get resolved in a week.

My ‘premo’ forwards are Dusty, Barlow and Wingard. Go ahead, have a chuckle, I deserve it…

Hopefully you see the issue I’m facing here, forward line is hugely underperforming, and I don’t think I can rely on rookies to carry it. Dusty will come good, Barlow is a tough call… will depend on what that nutbag Ross Lyon does with his team structure.

Note that I’m going for league wins and not overall ranking. Open to other suggestions, of course. I currently have 140k in the kitty.

    1. Blicavs more consistent, Gawn higher ceiling. I think they’ll both end up averaging around the same, although Gawn is more likely to miss some games (based on his history). Can’t really go wrong with either, flip a coin.

      0

      0
    2. Flip a coin on that one both in good form Gawn 10 k cheaper and I think he might be ahead of Blicavs by seasons end not by much tho.But if you want a POD Blicavs is only in 12.8% of teams.

  24. The sensible thing to do would be to hold my trades this week and consolidate.

But a small part of me is contemplating the following to sort out some not-so-successful midpricers:

    Rich – Hartley/Ruggles
    Lonergan/Crouch – RGray

TU – Do it. Good moves.
TD – Play it safe. Hold your trades.

    9

    6
      1. Just starting to worry more about his proneness to injury and Crows have said they’ll be extra cautious with him so the slightest niggle will likely mean he misses.

  26. Didnt get Weitering to start the season. Had the cash and went with sheridan instead. Worth picking Weitering up now? -27 breakeven. Sheridan has underperformed for the struggling dockers.
    Think I’ll pull the trigger.

    5

    7
    1. i did the same, spewin now. real good question im in the same boat. is it really worth the trade? i dont quite think so. sheridan should hold his price and hopefully pump out one good score to inflate his price then seize that moment and upgrade him to a true premo instead of a now expensive rookie who although is incredible for a 1st year will still be in line for some inconcistant scores. i say hold and save a trade? but who knows

should i trade him now for hall before he blows up?

also t.mckenzie in defence should i keep him or trade for a rookie?

  30. My preseason boy Cutler hasn’t lived up to expectations and will therefore be getting the chop.

    T/U E.McKenzie (Avg 83 with 2×90 and a 64)
    T/D N.Wilson (Avg 81 with 2×80 and a 74)

    1. Don’t mind Mckenzie won’t score huge very often but does take alot of intercept marks and seems to be getting more possessions in the Web defence.

That being said both seem a very sideways move

    1. Isn’t Hartley going to go up in value next week? Would hang on to him unless Woosha brings in Grima for him.

I’ll be staying away from Fyfe until Freo start winning some games and he doesn’t miss any training sessions. But hey – he can go bang anytime.

General consensus will be Parker, but all three players listed are guns

  32. Looking at making one trade this week.
    Should I:
    a) go s Martin to goldstein or b)bartel to d Martin?
Thinking Martin and Goldstein will score similar the majority of weeks and is Goldstein worth the $100,000 for his odd massive score? think i am just concerned of playing a team with goldstein when he goes big. Or am I better off getting dusty in for a more consistent increase in points week to week without the odd massive score? or should I hold on trades for now? would be looking to eventually upgrade bartel and also would like d martin in my side by the end, is now the time?

  33. TU- Gresham to either fyfe or parker
    Or
TD- Gresham to Brodie Smith & Mills to Buddy (Via Position Change)

Thinking Mills will get either dropped or continue with these sub-par scores. As Mcveigh will soon be back and surely mills will make way.
So whats a better choice for my trades?

    4

    0
    1. Hewett and Papley are more likely to be dropped than Mills IMO. If you have the cash to do it, Gresham -> premo makes sense

  34. Hey guys

Was thinking about bringing in Aaron Young from Port as a sneaky POD – only $253K, averaging 97.5 and set to go up in value. But just read that Wingard and Hartlett are set to return which I suspect will affect his output – hard to see him keeping up his current average of 3.5 goals a game.

T/U – Nonsense bring him in. He’s a gun and will still get plenty of disposals.
T/D – Don’t do it. He won’t average more than 75 for the rest of the year.

  36. Hi Lads
I have rocky but only have 569 if I trade. So I dont like any mid options. Is it worth bringing in houli or dolhouse via ddp. Make 2 trades to get hanners or grey or just hold him…

  37. My trades for the week, cashed up after downgrading to papely last week

Gresham and Greene to R. Gray and Zorko

Would have Zorko from the start but for his 1 week suspension
Basically trading out an average of 120 for 155 points per week. Thoughts?

  40. Hi coaches

Got $428K+ in the bank, so looking at spending it this week to get back in the game (ranked 14K currently and one of my leagues ranked 40th o/a). Currently can’t split Mills to Danger/Zorko.

Danger (who I traded out about a minute before the opening bounce)- just seems to be the best player in the competition (without any injury concerns) at the moment and with Essendon coming up next week, seems like the time is right. Only con I can think of is his high price of $657K and it won’t leave anything in the kitty for future trades.

Zorko – looks like a must have as well and his price is set to rise after two big weeks. Is he now officially elite? His DPP status almost makes it a no brainer. His price of $543K means I can most likely easily make another upgrade in another 2 weeks as well.

So who do I pick coaches?

    T/U – Danger
    T/D – Zorko

  42. thoughts on ditching stef martin and trading into either gawn or blicavs?
T/U: good trade (leaning more towards blicavs for consistency)
T/D: hold, not worth the trade – don’t go chasing early season points

    1. or is it worth trading out greene this week to anyone under 526k (already have hall and libba) but can bring in anyone via dpp. comment on someone that should be considered.
or just sit on trades this week?
