  1. D Cameron to Riccardi for me Rankine to someone not sure who and Wingard to Walters or Brayshaw

  2. 3 trades to get to full premo this week. Thinking:

    Woodcock to Mosquito
    Sholl to Gould/102k rookie
    Close to Simpkin/Jack Martin/Jack Steven

Undecided on which Fwd/Mid to get, need them to be around 430k range, thoughts? Saving money to go Steele in after his bye and push Dev to the bench for cover.

    1. Jack Martin is around that price and seemed to be getting some good mid/wing minutes against GC. Idk how often he can back up this weeks score though

      1. Yeah I was annoyed he scored high ironically, basically hit his BE when I was hoping to get him at a discount around 400k.

  3. 6 trades remaining:

Sturt —> Ricciardi is essentially locked in.

    A few of my options…
    Comment: Save trades
    T/U: Upgrade Rankine —> Gaff
    T/D: Downgrade McPherson, upgrade Rankine —> Fyfe/Merrett

    1. I don’t mind the Gaff pick with the Eagles headed back to QLD, AJ.

He was basically the only one who didn’t seem to completely hate his life up there and played Metricon well. Could be worth a look.

I’d definitely rather Gaff and an extra trade than Fyfe/Zerrett and one less trade.

Either way, good luck and congrats on your monster rank rn!

      1. I agree GD but need to use extra trade as Riccardi will provide cover in R15.

This is what I’m now thinking:
        D Cameron —> Conroy
        Close —> Riccardi
        Rankine —> J Kelly

        T/U: Yes
        T/D: No

        12

        1
      1. The only other option for me really is lyons as he has drastically dropped in price. I realise both have byes in the coming weeks.

Are there any other mids I should target in your opinion GD?

        1

        0
        1. Titch, Fyfe, Brayshaw, J. Kelly, Satan Oliver and Zerrett are the best post-bye options if you don’t already own them and have the cash.

Otherwise you could go for an Eagles MID or Parker and use the coin saved there to splurge on that final upgrade elsewhere.

        1. Yep, round 15 is no play, so if you’re only playing for league, shouldn’t be a worry for players who have their bye that week.

          7

  4. Playing for league.

    Simpson > Riccardi
    Cameron > Steele
    Rankine > L. Parker

    TU/TD?

Also, best option for a fallen premo – Parker, Boak, Gaff, or other?

    10

    4
    1. Both good options. I brought in Maynard this week and it paid off nicely, was choosing between him and Zac Williams. I’d factor in if you have other GWS players (they don’t seem to all score well together) and good coverage for round 16 byes?

      1

      1
  5. I’m playing for league , focused on getting best 18 only.
    Tu) Lyons to Bont
Td) Lyons to BOAK ( ports run home )

  6. Alright feeling confident with this
    Rankine > Mosquito
    Cameron > Riccardi
    Bell > J Kelly

Leaving my team looking like this

Def: Lloyd, Haynes, Stewart, Saad, Daniel Doc (Rivers Gould)

Mid: Neale, Titch, Jelly, Lyons, Fyfe, Steele, Cripps, Viney (Close, Wicks Robertson)

    Ruck: NN, Grundy (Draper)

Fwd: Petracca, Whitfield, B Smith, Simpkin, Wingard, Riccardi ( Mosquito, Skinner)

Plan to loop Mosquito and Riccardi each week

Will leave me with 6 trades and 3k in the bank not sure ill make it to full premo.

TU: Follow these trades leaving me with 2 rookies on field but good teams for best 18
TD: Only use 2 go Rankine to Mosquito and Cameron to Gaff. Leaves me with an extra trade and only 1 rookie onfield but not as many uber premos. Hurts in best 18, good for best 22

    11

    3
    1. Sorry Im silly, On the TU option I’d still have 1 rookie on fieldbut no cash and will probably be stuck with 1 rookie on the field up forward for the rest of the year.

      1

      1
      1. Toms..

You could try to save a trade or two as Draper should be $350+K in a few weeks.

My plan is to use him to complete my team at the beginning of R17 as this is the first R back to Best 22.

        Good luck.

        1

        1
    1. Probably Bont as Dogs have a lot more to play for and Danger will get time up forward with Geelong looking pretty secure

  7. Thinking of a bit of a different approach to trades this week. With best 18 in play and English not looking good I’m thinking;

    Rankine – Ricciadi
    English – Jack Martin
    Brodie Smith – Jake Lloyd

Would leave Xerri and Draper at R2/3.

    TU – Nice idea
TD – Just go English – 600k ruck

    18

    2
    1. Like this idea, English looks cooked and there is no 600k rucks jumping out to pick unless you go NN but I imagine a rest is coming his way soon. Do you have more pressing issues than B Smith, think Lloyd is a good upgrade but worry you might have more pressing issues.

      2

      0
      1. Nah no more pressing issues (apart from English)

        DEF – Ridley – Haynes – Williams – Stewart – Doch – B.Smith

        MID – Neale – Bont – Steele – Danger – Cripps – Coniglio – Boak – Parker

        RUCK – Grundy – English

        FWD – Brayshaw – Whitfield – D.Martin – B.Smith – Simpkin – Rankine

        2

            1. How about trade out English Rankine Bell
For Riccardi and 2 forwards combined worth 1mil or mid fwd depending on your dpp. Could be anyone who catches your fancy like Jelly and martin or Greenwood and Zerret depending on your exact finances.

              2

              0
              1. Nice! I like the idea but I only get 967k which is only 532k for a Bell upgrade after getting Jack Martin in. I’ll keep playing around with it but Thanks!

                3

                1
      2. I like it and I’m thinking of something similar myself with English. Brought him after his 200 and he’s been a dud ruck ever since. Time to go English!! Plus if you’ve got a Comben type on your fwd bench like you clearly do (same here) and with best 18 for the next few rounds Draper can easily step up to R2 and use English’s cash elsewhere to nab someone that could jump into your best 18.

        0

        1
    1. To who? Also depends who you would use the cash on. Also there is an expectation NN to be rested soon.

      1

      3
        1. Its a dangerous game trading out tried and tested ruckman. In round 4 I nearly went Grundy to Pittonet. Pittonet didnt crack 3 figures again lost cash and hasnt scored above 80 since rd 5. Grundy meanwhile not as awesome as Id hope has still averaged 120 since then

          3

          0
          1. I see your Pittonet story and raise you my Pittonet story. I too went Grundy to Pittonet at the same time. Seemed a great way of generating cash didn’t it! Bit the bullet and punted Pittonet to English the week after his 200. Thought it was a masterstroke. He was set to score 110s and 120s for the rest of the season. Nope. He’s stunk it up compared to most #1 rucks and he’s now weirdly seen as the back up to Josh Dunkley. What?? I’ve still got him and definitely planning on ditching him this week.

  8. Playing for League, so will have to assess my opponent before trading. Finished 3rd.

    It’s early, but planning:

McPherson, Aarts, Skinner > Ridley, Riccardi, Mosquito

    From there I’ll aim for:
    Rd 15: Close > Petracca
    Rd 16: Grundy > Nic Nat/Goldy
    Rd 17: Draper > Grundy/Nic Nat/Goldy
    Rd 18: Mosquito/Riccardi > Dusty/FWD

It’s my first year playing, so I’m not sure what the general strategy is with Rookies this time of year.

Is having one playing Rookie for cover in each position enough, and acceptable to go for a full-downgrade to a $102k player to free up cash for more upgrades?

    4

    4
  9. My goal this week is to upgrade one rookie (Close or Rankine), and save two trades (or at least one) unless there’s a good looking downgrade as teams get named. I’ve only got 6 left. Having 5 left going into round 15 is pretty appealing.

I can do a straight swap of Close or Schoenberg to Cripps. I like his draw for the rest of the season, outside of a possible de Boer tag, and that Carlton have something to play for. Not a POD but I don’t have him. Would leave me pretty short on cash but turning a rookie with questionable JS/cash gen/scoring potential to a gun seems like a good idea.

Other option would be Rankine to Fyfe/Merrett/Cripps which would leave me with a bit more $$$ in the bank. I just can’t make myself trade Rankine! His high ceiling is so appealing compared to all the other rookies on my team.

Either option would leave me with one mid upgrade to go full “premium” (pretty dark on myself for picking Shuey a couple weeks ago hence the quotations).

    6

  10. Rankine > Riccardi
    Close > Gaff

This leaves me with a minuscule $1,000 in the kitty.

Cottrell/Schoenberg left to upgrade with Draper my one big downgrade in my pocket.

Should I bite the bullet and also bring in Mosquito if named on Friday?

    3

  11. Hey blokes how are we?

Playing for league, teams under the pump a bit to fill out premiums for the side. As it stands we got:

Laird, Haynes, Short, Stewart, B.Williams, Hill (Ruscoe, Gould)

Macrae, Neale, Titch, Steele, Cripps, Mcgluggage, Shiel, Taranto (Close, Taylor, North)

    NN, Grundy (Draper)

Tracca, B.smith, simpkin, Rankine, Woodcock, Foot (Budarick, Sturt)

Currently sitting on 86k in bank.
Considering it’s finals, am considering going wild and trading Neale this round out. Not playing and due to the bye and has 216 BE so could become affordable in future weeks to snag again.
My thoughts are to move Neale, Rankine and Budarick/Hill into either 2 550k+ premiums (maybe satan and Lloyd?) and the mozzie or ricciardi.

    Any thoughts appreciated

  12. Cameron to Riccardi is locked in. Leaves me with $219,800.

I need to trade Sicily. I’m playing for leagues so not bothered if I bring in players with a R15 bye.

    Question is, do I:

TU: bring in Haynes and have $554k to use on upgrading Simpson to a premo(?) mid like Boak, Gaff, Parker (other options we come); or

TD: bring in Lloyd and go for another downgrade.

The first option leaves me with 2 rookies onfield and no cash with 5 trades left. The second leaves me with 3 but approx $430k for future upgrades.

    4

    4
  13. best sub 600k mid to complete team- have neale, macrea, oliver, mitchell, parker and viney. playing overall with an eye on leagues
T/U fyfe (has an easier draw but seems to be playing up forward and has injury concerns)
T/D merret (plays 3 out of 4 top teams)

    9

    7
    1. Hi Spooner. I’m in a similar situation myself, and I know that those two are proven performers. But I am looking away from these and considering Steele, Duncan, Boak & Jelly. All of these have relatively low BE’s, are firing atm and if you leave them until next week they will be 30-40K higher, Snarfy.

      3

      1
  14. Do or die for me this week, so Neale makes way for Satan Oliver. Leaves me with $580k for another upgrade. Who is best option of:

    TMitch
    Merrett
    Boak
    JKelly

  15. Can someone help me out on who to trade out need to trade out Simpson, can i get some guidance.

    Bank: $40,000 Trade: 9

  16. TU: Gawn > Nic Nat as even if Gawn does play his BE is very high
    Or
TD: Keep Gawn and use the trade elsewhere

    6

    15
  17. TU – Rivers, Rankine – Butts and Simpkin

TD – Rivers, Rankine – $102k and Greenwood
Means I’m left with no bench cover in defence if I trade Greenwood in

    3

    2
  18. Need a defensive rookie to downgrade Sholl early so I can bring in J Martin and have no rookies left on field. Tossing up between Butts who won’t play this week and might not be named again or W Gould who doesn’t look like getting a game but the high ownership at least won’t hurt me. The only issue is I probably won’t have any bench cover down back as my other rookie is T Watson and it doesn’t look like he’s getting a game any time soon.

    TU: J Butts
    TD: W Gould

    0

    3
  19. TU
    McPherson > Z Williams
    D Cameron > Cheap Donut
    Aarts> Riccardi
Gives me 17 premo this week, Draper at R2, $334k

    TD
    McPherson>Z Williams
    Sturt>Mosquito
    Aarts>Riccardi
Same 17 premo this week and Draper R2, $237k but more fwd cover

Both options would give me $1mil next week using 3 trades, which probably means 1 premo for R15, and then another R16

    1

    5
    1. Gould was talked up by Horse last week, and could be inline for selection after a pretty ordinary Swans performance on the weekend.

      2

      1
    1. If you have enough trades having no cash in the bank isn’t to scary as we have 3 trades to use next round.

Most likely you can do 2 downgrades & 1 upgrade next week if needed.

      1

      2
  20. Have 9 trades left and wondering whether I should take a risk or not.
    Should I …
T/U – Trade Rankine, Close and Gawn for J Martin, Butters and Soldo, leaving me with 6 trades left. Soldo averages 81.8 with two injury affected scores and a breakeven of only 44. Then when he has his bye in two weeks, I trade him and Draper (with two extra weeks of cash gen) for an uber premium ruck and a cheap loophole option for finals, leaving me with 4 trades left and a full premo team.

T/D – Trade Rankine, Close and Gawn for Riccardi, Natanui (or other premium ruck) and J Martin (or other proper premium forward). Would leave me Riccardi, Woodcock or Foot on my field though. Have 6 trades to upgrade that last forward.

    Appreciate any thoughts

    2

    3
  21. Rethinking it.

    OUT
    Laird
    Woodcock
    Close

    IN
    May
    Simp
    Riccardi

The thought process is that I trade Laird out because he has the bye, then will get home back after his next game (Has a BE of 150), as I’m playing for league at this point so next round I won’t need him in the side either. Then I can upgrade Hurn to Laird for the last 3 finals weeks.

Rationale is that Laird to May makes more $ than Sholl to a 102k rookie. Thoughts?

    5

    12
  22. TU: Trade out B.Zerk-Thatcher for DEF rookie
    Or
TD: Trade Out D.Cameron for S.Draper as his BE is -21 should make a lot of money

    3

    3
  23. 7 trades coming into this week, 2 upgrades to go.

Bear in mind I’m playing for ranking

    S. Hill & Aarts —> Lloyd & Riccardi

Leave 5 trades left, 2/3 used to get Neale next week.

    2

  24. Final upgrade is M8 this week, but strapped for cash. Have around 520k to spend. Would love to know everyone’s thoughts:

    T/U: Parker
    T/D: Boak
    Comment: Gaff or another mid

    Cheers!

  25. What do you guys think? Gawn has a BE of 242 so i going to trade him out for Nic

    S. Simpson,J. Noble,M. Gawn > I. Mosquito L. McDonald N. Naitanui

    0

    6
  26. What do you guys think? risking only have 4K in the bank
    S.Simpson,J.Noble, H.Schoenberg > Bont,Butts,Ricccardi

    2

    2
  27. Balta-Mosquito
    Schoenberg-Riccardi

Should allow me to go Draper-Gawn rd14 or 15 (depending on Gawn return) to finish my team

    4

    1
  28. 9 trades left so no great issues there.

Play for leagues so kept Sicily last week- this week he becomes Stewart, Maynard or McDonald.

Darcy Cameron to Fyfe chucking Whitfield forward.

The last one is causing me some angst- Gawn to Conroy and banking 600k using Draper as R2 (I would do this after the Essendon game so am thinking i’d take a score of 80 ). That makes my bank 700k so that next week Woodcock and Draper can basically become any Forward and Ruck Combo. My thoughts around this are that I have no Adelaide or Brisbane players so 20/22 are ‘premium’ without Gawn.

The other thing this could allow me to do is use Bander and Close to upgrade Andrew McGrath to Lachie Neale if i can get to the League Grand Final.

    TU- Take the game on
    TD- Play safe

    11

    4
  29. T/U: Goldstein, Cameron, Rankine -> Steele, J. Martin, Riccardi
T/D: Cameron, Rankine, Aarts -> Mitchell, Riccardi, Mosquito

(Draper cover till Gawn drops in price)
(Historically this season rucks score shit v Witts & I don’t want Goldy to drop any more in price with a BE of 138)

    2

    7
  30. Currently ranked top 50 trying to push for top 10, is it worth dumping neale for a round then bringing him back?

    TU – Yes
    TD – No

    30

    2
  31. Chasing overall so luxury trade time.

    T/U – Short > Haynes
    T/D – Brodie Smith > Ridley

I am leaning towards the smith>ridley since thats an extra premium on field this week, however am concerned Short will loose money now that Houli is back and that Haynes might pump out a big score (although he does have a high BE)

(Note that I will almost certainly do the other trade later/next week anyway)

    2

    11
  32. Williamson – Butts/Gould
    Cameron – J.Martin

    50k banked

    5 trades Woodcock F6, Draper R3, Close M9 expendable.

    1

    2
  33. Is this the week for Tomahawk to go vice captain against the dogs (200 score possible)
    TU – Yeah nah yeah
TD – Nah nah whadda you talking about

    11
  34. I have already hit the reverse trades button many times this morning, I’m looking for an absolute quality option up forward with cash not a factor at all…

I haven’t really watched a single freo game all year (other when they beat the pies ) and I’m stuck between Walters and Brayshaw. My gut tells me Brayshaw is worth the extra 60k but I’m not decided.

    Tu Brayshaw
    Td Walters

    Cheers

  35. Going for leagues…well, trying to after a shocking few weeks.

    Cameron into Riccardi.
    Woodcock into Mosquito.
    Close into Dusty.

Def and Mids finished. Both have 1 playing rookie as cover.

Final upgrade next week for F6.

    TU: good trades
    TD: rethink it

    5

    0
  36. Starc > Butts (Already have Gould and there I’ll need the cover for r15)
    Aarts > Riccardi

    T/U Close > Gaff (+50k)
    T/D Close > Boak

To finish off the midfield line. $$ getting a little thin towards the finish line which makes Gaff look the better choice. Cheers

    1

    6
  37. Got 2 options.
TU: D Cameron > Riccardi, Hurn > Williams, T Lynch > Greenwood or J Martin.

    TD: D Cameron > Riccardi, Hurn > J Lloyd, Neale > Bont

Option 1 is the safest and most common sense. Option 2 gives me the best chance of securing win in leagues and 2 weeks off in finals. That gives me two weeks to let my rookies grow and correct Neale trade from this week. Not interested in overall.

    Bugger all rookies.

  38. Hey guys,

Sorry I’m looking into the future again. But I just noticed next week (round 15) is a bye for Supercoach. So does anyone know if player prices will still go up and down after round 15 or will they just freeze as at completion of round 14? Also, does anyone know if we can make trades next week (round 15 – supercoach bye)? I don’t know where else to search for this info.

And good luck to those in finals this week!

    Cheers

    Td: Nah risky
And could someone comment relevant supercoach info about him

  40. Are punters placing too much emphasis on a full team of premos over the next three best 18 bye rounds, rather than loading up on a smaller number of uber premos ??

    7

    1
  41. Cameron going out this week for sure.

Weighing up ditching Noble and Rankine this week or holding for one more week to give more scoring options (but possibly losing a little cash if they miss their BE’s (which is likely)).

    TU: Trade them all now
TD: Hold Rankine & Noble until their byes

Currently 9 trades remaning (8 after getting rid of Cameron)

    7

    3
      1. Scratch that.

GD gives some great reasons as to why Hayne’s should be fine Davis or no Davis..

        Soz.

        1
  42. I still have Simpson & McPherson to trade out (just haven’t had a chance yet and had other dramas to deal with) and wasn’t too worried as they aren’t losing money whilst they’re not playing. Was going to trade both out this week, but also have players losing money or close to, such as Aarts, Cameron, Noble, Doc.

TU: Trade both of McPherson, Simpson plus Cameron (with the highest BE)
TD: Better to deal with 3 of Cameron, Noble, Aarts & Doc now, keeping the 2 injured rookies of Simpson & McPherson until next week when I have the extra available trade option.

Currently have 8 trades left. Will need to do 3 trades this week in order to bring in one premium as no cash in bank.

Noble is my D6, Cameron & Aarts my F5 & F6 (with D Smith & Whitfield currently in my mids, ready to move to fwd line).

    1

    3
  43. Azza , you dont have many trades left. It doesnt matter now if you are you going for leagues wins or Overall rank improvement. I will trade 4 for cash and use the cash to top up 4 mid priced to premo (whatever you can afford).
So you are going to need a straight upgrades or a war chest. Why dont you go 2 down and 1 up ? ( I will start with whoever will lose you the most money) That way, you need only 2 rounds to get rid of your dead wood and you get 2 trades left for a final upgrade/injuries?
This bye round is not too bad, so you could even go 3 down if you could field 18. Gives you the cash to face R15 (doesnt count for leagues) and the rest of the season?

    1

    1
  44. After this trade, I’ll only have one rookie left onfield, D6.
He will become a premium after the byes, as only 18 count next 3 rounds.

TU – Get Merrett in at M8, Whitfield returns to F6. (43k ITB)
TD – Get Walters in at F6, Whitfield stays at M8. (113K ITB)

    15

    2
    1. Butts has a bye and probably gets dropped the game after so avoid him.
If you can I would do another trade and get in 2 premos if you can
      Simpson – Danger
      Noble – Haynes?
      Rookie – Riccardi/Mozzy

      1

  45. Finished 3rd in league, so in QF.
Still have Sicily, so he goes. These are my proposed trades

    Sicily to Luke Ryan
    Georgiardes to Riccardo
    Mayes to Josh Kelly

    TU good trades
    TD bad

    Please comment on following:
Alternatives to Ryan can be Maynard or Ridley

Alternatives to josh Kelly can be dangerfield or Duncan

    An other options?

    1. Murray.

I would go Ridley over Ryan. Save $ and..

Ryan’s away record, pales in comparison to his home record. He is heading to the Q Hub. Trust me, Ridley is the better option.

Love the J Kelly pick too.

I know people are jumping on Ricardi, I just can’t trust GWS rookies. Cameron seems to shuffle them around so much, none of them seem to work out. Maybe give the Mozzie kid a go ?

Anyway , best of luck whatever you decide.

TD: Sicily, Simpson —> Haynes, Boak ($40k left, 2 rookies to upgrade, 5 trades). This option completes my mid which means I miss out on Macrae/Bont/Steele/Fyfe in lieu of Boak

  48. Morning coaches,

Context: playing in a cash league elimination final this week, 6 trades left and 2 rookies on field.

    TU
BZT > Z. Merret (Via Rivers)
    Close > Riccardi
    Rankine > 102k Rookie

    TD
    McPherson > Gaff (via Rivers)
    Close > Riccardi

I prefer to get in a high ceiling premo in Zerrett, but obviously getting someone in with 2 trades instead of 3 is advantageous.

  49. What’s the better option, not just for best 18 but the next 4 weeks?

  52. Hi all, hope everyone’s team is ready for finals, Don’t know if i should hold trades or not. Would appreciate some advice/help?
Last round’s trades were Sicily & Simpson > Lloyd & Foot

DEF: Lloyd, Ridley, Haynes, Stewert, Daniel, Doc (Sholl, Rivers)
MID: Neale, Oliver, Bont, Mitchell, ZMerrett, Cripps, Close, Foot (Wicks, O’halloran, Robertson (Lions))
    RUC: Nic Nat, Grundy (Cameron)
FWD: Petracca, Brayshaw (Freo), Whitfield, Dusty, Bailey Smith, Rankine (Aarts, Skinner)

    Cheers!!
11 trades left, $245,000 in the bank

Also random question I basically made trades everyone week since the restart (Round 2 til present) expect round 3, Is that the point? Just asking since this is the first year i’ve taken SC seriously and done it properly

    1. Plenty of trades left so might as well use them.
      Rankine – Riccardi
Aarts – FWD Premo (J. Martin, Walters, Simpkin)
Wicks/Foot/Close – MID Premo (Parker, Gaff)

      1. Seconded (solid work Alza),

        Based on what you’ve said..

Rankine -> Riccardi (or if you’re nervous like I am about JS, take Mosquito tonight)

Aarts -> Simpkin (or wait on walters for next week)

Whichever one doesnt get named out of Wicks/Close/Foot -> Premo’s Alza’s mentioned, but also consider Shiel, even Boak?? You’ll still be solid for next week. Even J Kelly if you want to splash some more of that bank

  53. TU: Trade J.Aarts And for who ?

  54. Any insight into J. McGovern as a smoky in? looking at you GD

People have been flooding ZWilliams into teams for his low price / had his bye / potential, and McGovern is marginally cheaper, had his bye, and fresh off a huge score.

    TU: Back in the ‘Gov
TD: Find more cash elsewhere and go full premo

  55. Have 6 trades left, in tough with Houston out this week.
Can trade out Rankine + McKay
Will bring in Riccardi + a DEF to cover for Houston (who I will likely hang on to)…

Have about $485,000 max to bring in someone

    TU: Saad
    TD: Bailey
Comment: Anyone else have some ideas?

  56. I’ve still got Williamson at d6, and Mcpherson on the bench. With best 18 this week, I’m quite happy to hold those two and use trades to finally get Macrae…..the non finals r15 helps, then get d6 for hopefully the prelim.
So, one from left field for d6……..two time all Australian, 3rd average of 90, had his bye, been forced to stand opposition no 1 key forward for most of the season, massive pod with only 1.3% ownership, and at only $451k means enough cash to get rid of stain Wingard as final upgrade if I make Granny.

Hurley. Can get back to his usual intercept game, but I would only get him if Hooker is named which seems likely.

    T/U Yes but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!
    T/D No…you idiot !!!

    1

    6
    1. If you’re looking for a left field defender for D6 maybe consider Steven May instead. Chillo makes a pretty good case for him in the fallen premiums and he’s cheaper than Hurley.

    1. Hey, Andy.

I’d be holding onto Neale and Laird?

It’s best 18 this week, do you HAVE to trade them to field 18? If not, keep them.

      3

      1
      1. Thanks GD,

Yes, I’d love too, but I have to trade both. Otherwise I’ll be eliminated this week.

    T/D – Nick Haynes plus 50k

  58. 7 trades left 3 upgrades to go 2 in forward line…in QF and can easily field 18 this rnd

Forward line: Petracca, Whitfield, Dusty, Simpkin, Rankine, Cavarra( Foot, Skinner)

    TU: Rankine > JMartin. … 6 trades left 2 upgrades …

TD: Rankine/ Bytel.. swing Foot to mid bench > Riccardi / Walters … 5 trades 2 upgrades left

    4

    1. I’m slightly worried about Walters getting a bit less midfield time with the young guns in there. I’d be going the first option, and waiting for Bytel to earn you a little more $.

      0
      1. Thanks Jack!

I was thinking the same thing but was also keen to trade Riccardi in as he looked really good.
I might trade Cavarra out for him and bank the 50k. Or even Rivers on my mid bench then swing Foot to the mid bench.

    1. Hey Dan.

I have a few worries about Haynes, if Davis is likely to miss too many games.

He has been fantastic with Davis in the side, unfortunately when Davis misses , Haynes has to play “taller” and it negatively affects his scoring. I would be watching Team sheets before trading him in.

If you haven’t got Ridley yet, he is a great alternative at a around the same price.

      Best of luck..

      2

      1
      1. Hey mate,

Have the conundrum of already having both Ridley and Williams in backline. Is there any other PODS you would suggest or if team lists come through and Haynes is named on the half back flank go with him?

        2

        0
        1. Mills, Saad, McGovern, Sheppard, Cerra and May are all discounted post-bye PODs who should be fine at D6, although I’d just grab Haynes – politely disagree with FT’s assessment.

Despite what we all expected (including myself), Haynes wasn’t slated with a key defensive role in Davis’ absence even v a tall Eagles side. Corr had Kennedy, Keeffe had Darling and Haynes was playing as the spare. I watched him very closely v Eagles and even without Davis he he still got intercept possessions and was key in their D50 exits.

At 500k, with his ceiling and intercepting ability, he presents excellent value imo.

Up to you though, best of luck!

          3

          1
          1. Sorry GD..

Looks like you are all over this one.

            Go Haynes.

I might even get him next week now.

His BE is still a little high, and he plays my mob this week. 😉

    1. Hey, Ramsay. I wouldn’t stress too much, you’ve got a great team.

Not many good cows going at the moment, or at least not in the lines where you need them, so these trades come with the risk of dead rookies, but you could go:

      Close -> O’Neil
      McKay -> Butts
      Simpson -> MID premo @ 585k~

If you wanted to conserve trades, you could also go:

      Noble -> Butts (fielding McKay @ D6)
      Simpson -> MID premo @ 570k~

      Best of luck.

With Draper managed this week, I’m assuming he will play the next few weeks leaving Grundy, Cameron (Draper) which may be an issue with the COLL bye
Currently have 21 on field (if Watson and Ling come in DEF will make 22)

    Trades so far

    IN: Riccardi, Merrett

    3rd trade is the TU/TD

  69. i have 8 trades left and 2 fwd spots left to reach full premo. Ranked just outside the top 100 so i am willing to trade aggressively. I planned to trade Cameron and Woodcock to J Martin and Riccardi but i am $1k off affording that.
    Should I:

TU: Trade Cameron, Woodcock, Rivers > J Martin, Riccardi, Mosquito (Won’t be able to bring in Dusty at any point)

TD: Trade Cameron, Woodcock, Goldy > J Martin, Dusty and B Williams

(Trading Goldy to Dusty helps bye structure because i currently have 4 premos missing rnd 14 and only 1 premo missing rnd 15 and it also allows me to field Draper at R2 until i make my final upgrade of draper to premo ruck)

  74. Full Premo Strategy:

-7 trades left and need to make 3 upgrades (1 on each line) (4 downgrades).
-After downgrades, will have 1.15mil for these upgrades with current rookie and bank situation, hoping this can increase to 1.35mil.

    Option 1:
3 x 450k players (Sheppard, Walters, JPK (or anyone I can afford).

    Option 2:
    2 x 500k players (Boak and Walters) and a 350k back.

    Option 3:
    2 x 600k premos and field a rookie.

    Current defence is:

Looking to upgrade williamson and have 200k to upgrade so fits perfectly for May, then plan on upgrading hurn/doc next week to lloyd(whoever pisses me off more).

Other option is traid out laird this week to Lloyd and bank the extra cash $130kish for an upgrade next week for williamson.

  84. I am playing for leagues. 9 trades left. I am fielding 2 rookies (1 Def & 1 Mid)
    What strengthens best 18?

TU gives me 21 keepers to accumulate best 18 score, whilst TD gives me 20 keepers to accumulate best 18 score.
TU gives me an extra premo in the mix. But TD gives me J Kelly, albeit at the expense of a Viney (2020 calibre keeper) who is best 18 so his absence promotes 19th player (probably Simpkin/Daniel).

TU bring in Haynes for Def rookie (get that extra premo in mix)
TD bring in J Kelly for Viney (get uber premo & trust Simpkin/Daniel)

  92. 8 trades left and 3 premo spots to fill (1 back & 2 forward)

Already locked in my outs > Rankine, Aarts & BZT
In so far would be Riccardi which leaves $960k to get 2 of D6 and F5/6 up to premo.

Don’t have Brayshaw or Whitfield, but they have high B/E and makes the D6 spot difficult, so thinking D6 and F6 this week and look at a better player for F5 in coming rounds.

    TU – Rankine, Aarts & BZT > Riccardi, Rowbottom/J.Martin, N.Haynes $19k left to upgrade F5

    TD – Rankine, Aarts & BZT > Riccardi, M.Walters, May/Sheppard with $24k left to upgrade F6

Leaves $182k and 4 trades for my last upgrade with Simpson, McPherson and Draper for cash gen. Hopefully I can get Oliver, Steele or Lyons next week.

TU: Take Ryan the high price, he’ll keep scoring and I’ll be right to upgrade next week
TD: Take a cheaper option (Saad or Z Williams in comments) to help with upgrade next week

  97. First time poster, long time reader. Bless this site!

I am in need of some help – I have hit the reverse button so many times it is not funny. Had my eye in to get Steele this week, and unsure if Neale should go or stay with the bye. Not too worried about overall – just want to maximise finals wins.

BACKS: Laird, Stewart, Daniel, Doc, Hurn, Noble (Starc, Watson)
MID: Neale, Bont, A.Brayshaw, Cripps, Boak, Gaff, Simpkin, Pickett (Budarick, Shoenberg, Foot)
    RUCK: Grundinui (Williams)
FORWARDS: Petracca, Whitfield, D.Martin, Greenwood, B.Smith, Aarts (Bell, Walker)

    ANY thoughts, muchly appreciated!
EDIT – 8 trades left, 57.8k in the kitty

    1. You’ve got enough trades to get Neale out, wait for his price drop and bring him back in later. Are aiming to win a qualifying final and looking to get straight through to week 17? If that’s the case may be worth getting Neale out to get past this round.

  99. Is it crazy to trade out B Cavarra for J Riccardi? With Cavarra dropped he won t be playing for the next two rounds and might not get named for the year again but wondering if it’s a dangerous move to only make 50k. I have had Cavarra all year so it’s not like I spent a trade to bring him in just to get rid of him quickly either.

    TU: bring Riccardi in
TD: hold off and stay smart

  100. Have a few dilemmas this week. First one is Sidebottom who needs to go, and second one his whether to grab Ricciardi. Cameron is my only realistic downgrade for Ricciardi, but he’s my swing set with Big O at R2 (Draper R3):

    T/U – Sidebottom & Cameron to J.Kelly & Ricciardi
T/D – Sidebottom to Pendlebury. Hold Cameron for flexibility with Big O
