    1. Yes (with the caveat that I don’t know who your alternatives would be).

Lowest score in the last 6 weeks is 114.

Run home is a dream – only plays two top tier sides, two that are borderline finalists, and 5 weak sides.

Only in 2% of teams, makes him a really strong POD.

  1. Will James Sicily revert back to his normal role, suely???

    Tu- Hold, dont be stupid

    Td- Trade him asap

    1. Saw an ambiguous response on twitter from HAW in the week. My takeout was that they MIGHT persist with it for one more week. If I owned him I’d evaluate asking myself two simple questions:

Based on keeping him for now and considering him a premo:

      i. How many trades will I have left once I’m at full premo? 6 or more I’d trade him. Any less I’d hold. And if the answer’s HOLD,
ii. Is my eventual D7 good enough to cover the worst-case scenario whereby Sic stays FWD and averages 60-odd?! Ie D7 plays or can be loopholed (best case).

Hopefully he just returns to his role and all will be fine in the land of SCT. Dunno which is worse right now, owning him or Rocky. All I do know is that points are all that matter right now. Well, that and having enough trades left to deal with future carnage!

    2. I’ll be watching the start of the Hawks-Eagles telecast on Saturday arvo. If he starts the game anywhere other than the defensive 50, then I’m flicking him straight to the bench. I’m not putting up with another stinking 40!

  2. Easy one….last forward spot.

    TU: Daniel
TD: Take a risk and make some coin with Cameron

    Other? Comments appreciated.

    1. If you’re going for overall, are within striking distance and have the trades I’d probably go Parker as nobody owns him.
Any other scenario, has to be Sloane.

  3. Tu: Answerth> Logue
    Duursma >Neale
    To finish Mids

    Td: Answerth>Logue
    Hayes >Hind
    Take Neale next week.

    Current Mids: J Kelly, Cripps,
    Macrae, Fyfe, Oliver, Merrett,
    M Couch, Duursma.

Comment: If Yeo could be a better
    Option than Neale.

  4. I’ve elected to keep Duursma and Answerth as a link into the midfield, So Hore makes way for Crisp.I’m hoping Cameron (WC) can establish himself and he can be a link to the FWD line.
The other tact is cash up and sit on 400 K and wait for the likes of Whitfield to come back, but that feels like it’ll burn too many trades.

    1. Another potential Mid/Fwd link is Kyron Hayden from North, only 102k and is a risk but has been heavily rumoured to get games down the stretch. Either way, finding a fwd rookie with job security will be a pain.

  5. Current side with 6 trades left and a 153k

    B. Lloyd , Hurn, Williams, Andrews, Sicily, Crisp
    (Logue, Answerth)
    C. Macrae, Cripps Coniglio, Neale, Oliver, Bontempelli,Martin,Sloane
    (Duursma, Clarke, Scott)
    R. Grundy, ROB (Fort)
F.Dunkley, Dangerfield, Boak, Kelly, Gray, Heeney
    (Bines,Young)

Clearly need to do something with an F7 but hoping that’s where a decent DPP in the mids will helpout possibly Cameron for Scott. That leaves 5 trades and 210 K after next week.
Hopefully Fort can get a few more games and add another 50k , likewise ROB and they can go for Gawn and a DPP fwd. That leaves 3 trades with probably not much change with about 6 rounds to go. Need Gawny to chuck in a shocker this week and drop 50k!
That should leave me with a fairly flexible side and 3 trades. Would like Whitfield but cant have both Gawn and Whitfield by the looks of the above strategy.Might reassess when Whitfield comes back, last time he came back with a massive BE he got it with 170 game against the Blues, not sure he’ll do it again, so he should be able to be picked up a bit cheaper.Any rookies picked up from here on in are keepers so may have to pay a bit more for JS.

    1. Making a lot of sense, Joe.

I don’t think Cameron will keep his spot in the WC side, but there are a number of blokes he potentially comes in to replace (Ryan, Rioli, Petruccelle, Jetta), and a couple of them are prone to injury.

Gawn definitely the priority over Whitfield, the backline is pretty strong as is and Gawn provides a strong VC/C candidate with the potential to go 150 plus.

  6. So what do you think im planning to go for Mitch Duncan his stats are good to get my second last spot for mid but my second option is Neale but I’m worried that he won’t break the taggers that he plays with. Both are great players with good stats.

    TU: Worpel > Neale
    TD: Worpel > M. Duncan

    Comment: Other Option

    Thanks SCT!

    1. I have Neale and am currently slightly worried he is more than slightly hampered by some type of injury – just a feeling, I’ve no hard evidence to back up other than his 3 and 5 rd averages are well down – though I have noticed his tackle counts are also down from his early numbers, but saying that his average is still a tick over 120.
Duncan has had an outstanding past month and is less and less of a POD each week and could provide an edge to your team

      2

      0
    2. Who are your other MIDs? Think Yeo, Sloane and even Brayshaw are viable options.
Neale should be cheaper next week. That said Duncan appears to be playing behind the ball, like Gaff does when pumping out big ones. No bad choices, just not Neale this week with his massive BE. He can wait if you have two spots left anyway!
      Good luck

  7. Got chopped out of Trade Talk One this morning so …..

323k to spend, one to full team although would still love to get in J. Kelly

TU Hore to Ryan – giving me Lloyd, Hurn, Ryan, Laird, Williams, Andrews with Logue at D7, Rotham (face palm) D8
Atkins to Sloane – giving me Fyfe, McCrae, Coniglio, Oliver, Sloane, Crouch and Walsh (Bewley, Hind, Scott)

TD Atkins to J.Kelly leaving me 12k

My thinking here is probably TU for a better balanced team. Bewley or Logue give me the cash to go Walsh to Kelly down the track.

FWDs are not who I would like (Dunkley and Boak missing) but have Danger, Kelly, Billings, Gray, Worpel, Heeney. (No bench cover – Young (double face palm), Bines

    Rucks Gawn/Grundy (Fort)

Only 6 trades left 4 if I make both this weekend (gulp). Will continue to bite my nails and watch my players carefully, wincing when they get tackled.

    Comments appreciated as always.

  9. I have 6 trades remaining, $18k in bank

    Back line
B.Smith, Dursma, Hore with Logue on the bench so I can downgrade one of these guys and fit him straight in?

    Mid
    Stack

These are my only positions I need to upgrade!

Smith takes kick ins should I just keep till the end & trade come finals?

    Thinking stack to Hind
    Dursma or Hore to Hurn?

    Please give advice.

    Thanks

    1. I would upgrade Duursma as he is averaging much less than Hore and Smith. Hurn is a good option as an upgrade but his breakeven is high (161) so you can get him much cheaper time he plays. Ryan is cheaper at 514k saving you 56k so you can update Hore or Smith next with $$ in the bank. If you want Hurn wait a week or two.

  10. Hey guys…
10 trades and 659k in the bank. Traded Duursma to Logue last week and probably go Answerth to Naish this week if named. With all other rookies still with low BEs is it worth trading O.Baker for Sloane this week or wait 2 weeks and get maybe Cunnington?

    TU Sloane
    TD Cunnington

    1. That’s a big bank account.

How many on-field spots left to be upgraded? I’d have thought you’d be in a position now to focus on bolstering your scoring rather than trying to scrape up a cash cow.

    2. I agree with BB above. Double upgrade this week where it will maximise on your onfield pts differential. You have the cash and the trades and already have Logue.
      Good luck!

      1. Thanks guys. Hately being banned had got me stumped nite. Any advice would be appreciated.

Lloyd. Houli. Williams. Laird. Smith. D.Moore. (Logue. Answerth)
J.Kelly. Fyfe. Macrae. Cripps. Dangerfield. B.Crouch. D.Clarke. (Bewley. Stocker. O.Baker)
        Gawn. Mumford. (Bines)
T.Kelly. Boak. Daniel. Heeney. Lobb. Billings. (D.Moore. Begley).

Still need Hurn and maybe a Whitfield. Need Grundy obviously and Danger to go fwd and get 2 mids plus maybe a luxury upgrade for crouch. Looking at Hannebury M8/9 loophole with Crouch though. What should i do with Sliane and Hately…..
10 trades with 659k in the warchest

        1. Missing a mid – think I found your team and it appears to be Neale.

Based on that mate, you’re looking really well placed.

10 trades, $650k+ in the bank, only one rookie and a couple of mid-pricers on-field, some money coming in on the bench.

Players you probably want to upgrade: Clarke, Mumford, Moore, Lobb.

I reckon this is the week for Mumford -> Grundy. Brodie’s BE is high-ish at 138, but there’s a chance he gets it. He also went laaarge last week, so his BE will probably drop significantly next week.

Clarke has a negative BE, worth holding a little longer.

Moore is just doing ordinary things – presumably he makes way for Hurn in the next fortnight. Hurn should drop in price, but lets assume it’s only another $20-30k and Moore comes down a little as well.

Lobb could be worth holding as ruck cover, but he’s still 3-4 weeks away, and who knows if he’ll have any setbacks. I’d be inclined to trade him out for a midfielder via Danger’s DPP. Sloane if you like him?

          Now:
          Mumford -> Grundy (-$280k)
          Lobb -> Sloane (-$30k)

          Later:
          Moore -> Hurn (-$200k)

Just leaves Clarke to be upgraded, with $150k already in the bank. He should reach $270k, that plus the bank is $420k, cashing in Bewley or Baker for a defensive rookie should get you someone in the $550k-$600k range, and moves Answerth to the mid bench.

5 of your 10 trades used for a full premo team. Bench cover in Logue (D), Answerth (M), Clarke (F). Depending on your run home, you may be able to swing a luxury upgrade or bring in a bench premo.

There’s probably a more complex line that sees you keep Lobb as bench cover up forward, but I suspect it would be at the cost of bench cover on other lines.

          1. Hey BB… tusks for all that. Really helpful. I have Neale. Got him 4 weeks ago. He owea me a decent score still. Haha. I’m waiting on Grindy at least one week as Mumford is going up and Grundy is more likely to stay at his price. Eney dollar counts atm. Hurn is the same. He’ll drop and Moore will probably score at alhis 77 BE. So they were next weeks trades. Lobb I’m torn on. Held him so far and he’s a loophole donut for Moore and Begley for 3 weeks then a good loophole with Billings and Heeney for F5-F7 plus ruck cover. Still thinning of trading him though. I was thinning just Sloane for O.Baker this week and maybe downgrade Answerth. Hately was on my radar as soon as he got named but now not sure he’s worth it to make only 75k give or take. Knowing my luck i get him, make 75k and he gets dropped. Same with Lobb… i trade him, he comes back and Gawn/Grundy miss a week where I’d have cover… this is the worst week all year! Lol. Thanks for all your insight mate. Left me more to think about. Haha. Like trading Lobb. Love how active you and All Saints are. Brilliant!

  11. Current side 12 trades and $1,300 left.
Lloyd, Hurn, Williams, Sicily, Hore, Duursma (Gardner, Burgess)
Kelly, Fyfe, Macrae, Cripps, Neale, Cogs, Oliver, Clarke (Butters, Bewley, O. Baker)
    Gawn, Grundy (Bines)
Boak, Danger, Dunkley, Kelly, Heeney, Setters (Balta, Young)

Got Butters, Balta and Duursma who need to go. Tossing whether to do a double downgrade (and upgrade M8 next week). Want to wait for Whitfield in a couple of weeks and Hore / Logue should be fine as D6 / 7.

TU Butters, Balta > Logue, Hind ($339 ITB)
TD Duursma, Balta > Logue, Laird
    Comment: Any other options?

    0

    5
    1. Balta to Logue via Gardner.
Butters to the best DEF (via Duursma) or MID you can afford but ONLY if worth having. If nothing takes your fancy, get Hind instead and pounce one something next week, eg maybe Duursma to Ryan.

      Good luck!

  12. TU Balta + Hore -> Logue + Ryan (7 trades and $46k left)
FWD of Dunkley Danger Kelly Marshall Cameron Gray
(Young Burgess) and Heeney as M8 for now
DEF of Laird Lloyd Ryan Williams Andrews Sicily Ryan
(Logue Naish) I miss out on Hurn/Whitfield without
    sideways trading Andrews/Sicily.

TD Balta + Hore -> Logue + Hind (7 trades and $443k left)
FWD of Dunkley Danger Kelly Marshall Cameron Gray
(Heeney Young) and means playing one of
    Hind/Baker/Clarke/Hately as M8 before Baker/Clarke
becomes J Kelly in 1-2 weeks.
DEF of Laird Lloyd Williams Andrews Sicily Logue
(Burgess Naish) Means playing Logue/Naish as D6 for
now, with 6 trades left and $80k to upgrade final DEF spot

Really stuck between cash gen this week getting me Kelly, or being full premo this week (Heeney M8, Andrews D6, Gray F6). Appreciate any feedback! 🙂

    1. Hey coaches, it’s been a tough year because my starting side was not well-prepared. Just trying to do the best I can and finish the year strongly. Any suggestions are welcome as I am limited on cash ($37k), trades (10), and premiums (18 on field if we’re being generous). Current team:

      DEF: Laird / Sicily / Hurn / Milera / Duursma / Hore // Logue / Quaynor
      MID: Cripps / Neale / Macrae / Sloane / Oliver / Yeo / Stack / Walsh //
      Clarke / Bewley / Scott
RUC: Gawn / Grundy // Clarke
      FWD: Danger / Kelly / Heeney / Dunkley / Marshall / Cameron // Young / Cavarra

Trouble is there is minimal short-term cash generation possible with my side – Clarke / Bewley need at least 5-6 games and no other rookies aside from Logue will make any money. So do I sacrifice on-field points for some cash to upgrade maybe one more premo (Duursma or Hore and run Logue on-field)? Other thoughts?

      1. Pretty good team DTG I reckon, FWDs & RUCs set, tho possibly 2 premo trades on each DEF & MID lines (or 1 each if happy with (for eg) Walsh staying at M8 and Hore at D6). You have the trades to do it.

Perhaps 1 trade this week Duursma to Naish for cash gen and yes put Logue on field, or Naish, your decision. Leaves $298k in bank.

Following week Stack&Scott to a $102k non playing rookie and the premo MID of your choice, youll have $700k+ to spend by rough calcs. (could get J Kelly, but not much left in bank; or get M Crouch and have $200k+.) The Fallen Premium article and Breaking Even the best for decision making I reckon.

Im a bit like you, in a similar position but learning all the time. Look fwd to the thumbs up/down to this advice.

        1. Thanks Bludga, really appreciate you taking the time.

I agree that I need 2 more premos in mids and defense, so I wouldn’t say I’m happy with Walsh / Hore (or similar) but it’s looking like it will be either a necessity or a late upgrade.

I’m definitely doing one d/g this week, potentially two. One of my biggest issues this year has been catching rookie downgrades – I’ve missed a lot of rookies that most coaches picked up (ROB, Baker, etc.) and there has been a lot of dead weight in the rookie department (relating to original team – I didn’t pay attention after JLT1 or 2 up until after round 1, so I had to do a lot more correction trades early on).

          Thanks again for the advice.

          0

          0
      2. Haven’t seen you around for a while but reckon the side looks OK mate. While you don’t have that much cash, 10 trades is pretty good.

I’d start by making some value judgments, such as Hore is gonna be my D6 and Walsh MIGHT be my M8 for the remainder. For a strong run home I need POINTS and to also make enough cash so as to use my trades for at least four upgrades.
I also have some dead wood. Is any of it worth MORE than other options that can make me money? Yes. Scott and Quaynor.

Current state: Duursma can go, Walsh and Stack might come back fresher from their byes and should hold/increase value this week at least. There is also talk that Quaynor might be close to a debut. Let’s wait and see.
Is there anyone with half decent JS who could make me some valuable coin? Yes. Hind.

Based on that, this week I reckon I’d go:

        OUT: Scott and Duursma
IN: Hind and either Weller or Crisp

I’d probably go Crisp just because he leaves you with $30k rather than nothing. There are other options like Ellis, Salem or Andrews. Up to you.

Next week I’d assess who out of Walsh and Stack should/could go. If both go well you could hold tight for another week. That would be ideal. If Quaynor isn’t named, I reckon I’d downgrade him to Gardner. Gives you $50k and will give you enough for a straight 1up/1down in a week or two. His DPP is valuable, he’s base-priced, can act as a loophole for Hore/Logue at D6 to maximise points and went well enough in the twos last week to maybe get a recall. He’s currently two games closer to making cash than Quaynor.

Hope some of that helps. Let’s see what the team drops offer first 🙂

        1. Thanks for the suggestions AllSaints!

Quaynor has been named emergency for most of the past 5-6 weeks so I’m not counting on that going anywhere at this stage. Having said that, there is (and has been for most of the year) too much deadwood on my team.

I’m not worried about Stack and Walsh for now and agree that both should bounce back for at least 2-3 good weeks with the rest from their bye. I like the suggestions for “OUTS” but not sure if I’d be better off going a double downgrade this week (seeing as there are actually rookies being named) and then start upgrading next round.

With Hately being named, is he worth a roll of the dice (say for Scott) with 10 trades remaining?
          TU: YES
TD: NO, keep trades for rookies with better job security

          1

          0
      3. Good suggestions from the other comments.

Simple way of looking at it for me:

Forwards are fine, just lacking bench cover. Low priority.

Rucks are fine, almost nobody has bench cover here. Low priority.

Clarke and Bewley will generate enough cash to upgrade Walsh and Stack if you want to do so.

The backline looks a little light on, but it’s not dire. Hore and Duursma have made plenty of money, while Milera has lost money on his starting price but is still reasonably placed to be upgraded. Logue should provide handy bench cover and a possible loophole.

I’d be inclined to sit tight for now and see how Walsh and Stack go this week. both have BE’s in the 60’s. Clarke and Bewley have negative BE’s. Over the course of two weeks you can downgrade both bench players and upgrade both on-field options to fallen premos, and the aim should be to come out of it with extra money in the bank.

Then down the track you can decide if you want to cash in Logue to upgrade a couple of the on-field defenders. He’ll be at $300k or more in no time the way he’s travelling, and downgrading him will fund two upgraded easily. Or if he’s going great guns, you could downgrade one of the other (Hore, Milera, Duursma) instead and move Logue on-field. May even get lucky and have Zac Clarke or Quaynor get a few games and make enough to find those upgrades so you can keep Logue.

        So, when the prices plateau:
Clarke and Bewley down – Stack and Walsh up. 4 trades.
Logue down – Milera and Duursma up. 3 trades.
Leaves three for injuries, which is a bit light, but not diabolical.

        1. Hey BB, thanks for the recommendations.

I am with you on the mid upgrades (Bewley / Clarke and Stack / Walsh) and think those will happen, it’ll just be later than I would have liked.

Milera was supposed to be a cheap “sideways” trade when Whitfield went down going into the byes – needed someone a bit cheaper and his bye worked with what I had at the time. It hasn’t worked out so far but hopefully he can bounce back after his bye.

  13. Some advice please. With $145k itb and 10 trades left, current team 2430 predicted this week:
Lloyd, Williams, Stewart, Sicily, Hore, Duursma (McKay, Gardiner)
Fyfe, Cripps, Taranto, Oliver, Pendles, B Crouch, M Crouch, Walsh (Answerth, D Clarke, Bewley)
    Gawn, Grundy (Sweet)
Danger, Marshall, Gray, Worpel, Heeney, Larkey (Burgess, R Young)

    Should I:
TU – one more week of downgrades Hore>Logue; and trade/DPP switch McKay>Hind via Answerth for DEF cover (will have $420k itb to address forwards next week)
TD – only the 1 trade Hore>Logue; still $400k itb and SAVE a Trade?
Comment – any other opinion; 1up/1down fix forwards this week?
    Much appreciated.

TU – one trade: Bring in L Ryan/Stewart, leaving one premium mid and one premium defender to trade in OR

F- Dangerfield, Boak, Daniel, Marshall, Heeney, Baker (Parker, young)

I was thinking this week Baker to Hind (via DPP with Kelly) leaving 7 trades left and 248K.
Not sure whether to bring in Logue for Answerth or go Naish then next week Hayes to Neale or something entirely different, any advice appreciated!

    1. Doing very well I reckon. Good on ya.
I’d go Baker > Hind via Kelly AND
      Answerth > Logue this week.

If Rocky doesn’t play, it’ll mean both Hind and Clarke on field. Not terrible, but not ideal.
You can also then use Gardner as a DEF loophole in the event Sicily plays forward again and scores badly, you can take Logue’s score instead.

You’ll then be in a decent spot to reassess next week. Maybe Rocky straight to Jelly in one trade then you can sit back and watch the points roll in and the cash generate for a while.

      Great work. Enjoy 🙂

  19. TU: Ryan

    TD: Stewart

I would go straight up Ryan but hesitant that I could get him cheaper next week (although Duursma is likely to lose money this week too)

    9

    4
    1. Ryan and Duursma possibly to both drop in price after this week. So it comes down to what you’re playing for and points. Ryan will outscore Stewart and Duursma (he damn well better!). I’d be be going Ryan straight away because I want the points.

    1. Don’t think Logue is a MUST have but:
He likely has better JS than Naish and Boak is a FAR better proposition than Gray (others would disagree).

Caution: If Logue only averages 55-60 from here I don’t think we can be too surprised or disappointed. That’s all, though he has had two fab games.

      1. Hey Mick,
        Have 11 trades left & 227k Itb.
Can go Clark straight to Williams .
Only other one I was thinking of was Ryan but need two trades..
Last spot in def am saving as most are for Whitfield.

        1. Love your team and your dpp links. Tough call but you need to think of the players you want in your team from here on. Whitfield is a given but what other defender? Clark has to go with a be of 95. Williams seems a safe bet.

          1

          0
      1. Haha, exactly. I think Hurn is the right player but holding for that week may cost me 2h2 league game this week.

        1

        1. Would hold out a week for Hurn. I know it’s annoying but he’ll outscore Ryan and Laird, a must have in defense.

          5

          0
          1. My defense is currently – Lloyd, Williams, Stewart, Hore, Smith, Logue

So i think i will upgrade Smith or Hore to Ryan this week and then I’ve still got two premium spots for Hurn and Whitfield/Houli.

            Thoughts?

            4

            0
  22. Trade 1 this week – Duursma to Logue
Now $221k in the bank and 9 trades left.
    This leave my defense as:
Lloyd, Stewart, Williams, Hore, Smith, Logue (Answerth, Gardner)

So I can either upgrade Smith or Hore to Ryan, Hurn, Laird or Houli (Hurn and Houli have breakevens of 160+)
My other option is to get rid of Rockliff who is my M8 at the moment but is doing my head in and i need to have the best team possible for finals.

    T/U – Upgrade Hore/Smith to a premium defender
    T/D – Upgrade Rockliff to Yeo/Parker/Macrae

*Note $ shouldn’t be an issue because i still have ROB on the bench i am more worried about trades left

Obvious move would be either Duursma or Hore this week for a premo DEF (Stewart, Ryan, Laird) and then the other for Hurn. One of my mid benches would have to be downgraded to Hind for the Duursma trade to happen this week and I think Hore will score better. Is there any trades I’m not seeing here otherwise? Am I better off holding onto trades?

    Would appreciate feedback! Cheers

  28. TU- Duursma and Hore- Zac Williams and Luke Ryan
TD- Duursma and Setterfield- Dunkley and Logue

Have a massive league game this week and would like the two premos, but Logue is really good value. Or maybe even bring in another mid, e.g Sloane. Advice would be appreciated.

    1. I’d probably do Willams/Ryan but depends what the rest of your Def looks like? Can’t go wrong with two top 6 def’s – Dunkley will drop in price in the next three weeks if you want to hold out.

I suggest downgrade answerth or clarke for Logue then maybe put worpel in the mid and put kelly in the forward and then trade out worpel for a MID prem player and then try fix your defense nextweek.

TU: O Baker to Hind (leaves me 6 trades left and full premo including B Smith at D6, might trade smith to Whitfield in a few weeks but will leave me with 4 trades and minimal cash)

TD: B Smith to Logue (will trade Logue to Whitfield in a few weeks time which will leave me with either 4 trades and substantial cash or 5 trades and full premo depending on whether i have enough cash or need to make a downgrade)

  36. Already clarke and bewley (also stocker) in mids. 2 spots to get full premo (1 of those midfield) is it worth getting in Hately for points and cash generation or wait for these boys to make cash and loophole best score. I have a feeling Hately is going to go large and make some good coin.

    TU : Bring Hately in
TD : trust the current rookie mids to make enough coin and loophole for M8

  37. Have been forced into a lot of regrettable trades this year with many injuries.
After this week will have 5 trades remaining & still to downgrade R.O.B in a couple weeks to make my final 2 upgrades…

  40. Aaargh just can’t decide what to do, too many bad decisions this year!!

Lloyd, Hurn, Williams, Sicily, Hore, Smith (Duursma, Answerth)

    12 trades, $142,400 bank.

    Latest thought:
TU: Scott, Franklin > Logue, Lycett (Opens up def/mid swing and provides ruck cover, playing Duursma onfield instead of Setters/Clarke/Bewley)

  44. Posted in another thread, I thought I’d put it here as well. I need some advice from the gurus around here!

Lloyd, Williams, Stewart, Andrews, Sicily (Logue, Answerth)

Neale, Fyfe, Cogs, Macrae, Cripps, BCrouch, Rocky, Bewley (Clarke, Hayes, Scott)

Rucks and fwds complete (if you include Worpel), with NO cover.

    $313,500 in kitty.
8 trades remaining, going for cashleague.

Getting Sloane I think. I can just afford Hayes to Sloane., in one trade.
    Think I’ll keep Rocky.
Do I bring in Naish for Answerth to top up my bank, (TU)
Or trade Scott to Hind? (TD)

Or comment with any other ideas to improve my basket case of a side? Any other ideas most appreciated!

    1. Hey, DD.

Sloane to Hayes looks good, think he’ll finish the season strongly. Have you considered bringing in Hately? Could go Scott -> Hately? He’ll make 80k~ after this round. Then let him, Clarke and Logue top out and finish off your back line by offloading Smith to Hurn or Whitfield.

      0

      0
      1. Will hately get more games? Unless I’ve missed some news on him, I find it really hard to see him getting more games. Whitfield back in the next 2 to 3 weeks will almost certainly push him back to the 2’s

        1. Cheers GD.
Yeah, I want to upgrade Smith later. I was kind of hoping I could do it with the coin from the Answerth/Naish trade, saving another trade, but I guess that will leave me short of Hurn/Whitfield.

I read somewhere that Hately has replaced inside mids both times he has played?
Could this mean he might be used as a run with player to replace DeBoer? Might give him a bit better js?

          0

          0
          1. Also Answerth to Naish would net me the same amount as Scott to Hately, if Hately getts dropped again next week, plus one extra trade used for the cash.
So I suppose it all comes down to the risk of Hately getting dropped again. If Naish is dropped, I can just use him for a defense loophole with Logue.
            Hmm…..

            0

            0
        2. Think he’ll get at least 2. Let’s say, for argument’s sake, he only gets the one this week and goes up 80k~, DD can downgrade him to a basement price player and net 126k. Any rookie he’s bringing in is for cash generation, and I think Hately has the potential to make the most money.

  45. First time post, looking for some advice now the byes are done …
12 trades left and 76k in the bank:
Lloyd, Hurn, Z.Williams, Sicily, Hore, Duursma (Rotham, Gardner)
Fyfe, Cripps, Neale, Taranto, B.Crouch, Sheed, Gus Brayshaw, Worpal (Rockliff, Answorth, Clarke)
    Grundy, Gawn (ROB)
Danger, Dunkley, Kelly, Marshall, R.Gray, Greene (Pettrucelle, Bines)

    Was leaning towards Rotham/Rockliff > Logue/Laird (TU)
Or upgrade Rockliff to mid gun (Sloane?) and Rotham>Logue (TD)

Appreciate any other suggestions via comments!

    1. Hey, Fluffy.

First off, if you’ve held Rockliff all this time you may as well keep him for the remainder of the season. As for this week, you could go Hore -> Logue and Duursma -> Stewart/Laird. Then let ROB, Logue and Clarke max out and then cash them in; that will give you the funds to finish your DEF line off with Whitfield once he’s back and to luxury trade guys like Worpel and Greene up to whichever MID/FWD premos you’ve had your eyes on.

If the rumours of turf toe are true, he could be out for 3+ weeks easy, either that or play at a limited capacity.
