  1. I am thinking the same thing, might bring him in this week and move Fritsch to bench. He’s an absolute gun.

      1. Definitely wait until he’s played two games and his injury score drops out – he should lose about 70-80k, which will put him in the 470-480k range, which is pretty good value for his potential.

  2. Dustin Martin @440K

Surely if someone told you he could be picked up at this price prior to the season kickoff, you’d think they had rocks in their head.

If I go Fyfe to Martin…. it leaves enough coin for Savage to Lloyd..
    Any good?

    1. I have both and will be holding for now.

Parker should get more midfield time with Hannas going down.
I also think they may play Heeney a lot more forward post his concussion.

Wines will almost certainly get back to Beast Mode playing Freo this week. With no Sandi , Fyfe and now young Brayshaw missing.
Banfield played on Hibberd last week so who knows what FURL will do.
I sniff a little tanking in the air.
Freo need high draft picks to trade for the McGovern brothers.

  3. hey guys, thinking of trading out nic nat to Grundy. luxury trade really as my team is full premo. it will only leave me with 2 trades but i am ranked around 1400.

    Thumbs up do it
    or
    thumbs down don’t do it
    cheers

  4. TU Oliver now
TD Macrae in a few weeks once price drops

Currently have 7 trades left and still holding Fyfe for finals.

Mids currently Titch, Cripps, Danger, Bont, Crouch, Coniglio, Rocky, Westhoff.

    Tempted to drop Bont

    1. Wow, that temptation was before I heard about his surgery!

Better not have any more temptations about other players of mine…

  5. Can anyone provide insight as to why Luke Ryan (Freo) has suddenly been so poor lately?

And is he worth trading out or holding?

    1

    2
    1. He has not been poor lately, he has just been himself on a cold streak. If you look at his season; an average of 92.7 is quite nice for a second year player with only 11 matches his first year. His run of good scoring was just that, a run of above average scores, just like he has had runs of below average scores.

      R 4 to 7 = 72.25 average
      R 8 to 11 = 115.0 average
      R 4 to 11 = 93.63 average

Base what you do on how good he really is, not his hot or cold streaks.

      1. Completely agree, I own him too and am hoping he hits a run of good scores for finals! – The above analysis highlights the importance of doing proper research on a player. I like him however because he has a high ceiling

hard to justify trading a healthy player at the time of year when players start dropping like flies

  6. With Bont expected to be out 2-3 weeks I’ll be looking to upgrade him to Macrae next week once he has his first big price drop, using Mundy as cover this week.

I’ll likely trade Ryan to Webster next week even though they’ll both drop significantly this week (Webster slightly more it looks), I see it as a better D6 option and will leave me with enough cash to do the above and an injury trade to ride the year out on, as well as F7 and M9 cover.

  7. 5 trades and $95k.

    Thinking of finally upgrading Hibberd.
This will give me the chance to loophole Doedee and Ryan at D5/6.

T/U Hurley this week BE 84. starting to find some form.

T/D Webster next week BE 170. Will likely be < $400k.

other Def: Yeo, Simpson, Sicily, Laird.

Comment. Use 2 trades and get Lloyd.

    1. You should have a listen to the most recent Supercoach Elites podcast for this one – they had a very good discussion on Webster and Hurley.

For me it would depend on whether you think Webster will hit his pre injury form again

      2

      1. Thanks Jello.

I think I’m going to wait a week regardless.
It gives me a chance to look at both this week and choose the better option.
Hibberd and Hurleys prices shouldn’t move too much.
Websters will drop a bit even if he tons up.

If theres more carnage next week I can always keep Hibberd at D7.

  8. I am thinking of downgrading T.Smith to Powel at F8 to open up the m/f bench cover with Ahern. This gives me $140k to upgrade Fritsch to a gun mid. I am considering upgrading to Macrae or Dusty or Crouch in a week or two.

    Up – good plan
    Dn – rethink

  9. Posted this in the Rate my team thread but probably better here –

And now Bontโ€™s out for a few weeks FFS โ€“ so much for holding trades

With a current midfield of Mitchell, Cripps, Bont, Danger, Oliver, Crouch, Coniglio and Westhoff (who I brought in last week for Fyfe & will be moving to the forward line at some stage), who do I replace Bont with? Not going to consider J Kelly or Neale with high BEโ€™s (will get one of them once I move Westhoff), donโ€™t want to take a chance on Selwood as sure heโ€™ll be getting a breather soon, so narrowed it down to either

    TU: Gaff
    TD: Pendles

Comment for Beams as a bit of a POD

    11

    8
  10. All right. A few possible scenarios for you good people.

    TU – Fyfe-Oliver – 5 trades left
    TD – Fyfe-Sloane & Boak-Westhoff – 4 trades left
    Comment – Fyfe-MCrouch & Boak-TMcDonald – 4 trades left

    Appreciate any/all assistance.

    12

    2
  11. 4 trades left with no defensive cover, if Simpson is not brought in this week

    TU: Trade Ridley to Lynch
    TD: Don’t

    10

    1
  12. Done a bit of research on Lynch, he missed 10 games last year due to a hamstring issue and missed the early part of this year due to injury according to the dogs website (not sure how much). So just a word of warning, he does seem injury prone

    1

    1
    1. So he missed 6 games this year from rounds 3 to 8 due to a hamstring injury as well. Not really the cover option I’ll be trading for.

      2

      1
      1. Think Curnow may have gone to Beams second half to reduce his impact. Both players scored 40s in the halves they were tagged.

    1. have to agree. i’d be seriously considering Dusty from here if I didn’t already have him. Gearing up … to go large

  13. Jack Trengove with back to back 77s.
Only 160k & JS better than sier and narkles… has to be worth the consideration as M9 cover with ahern.

    Holman โ€”> Trengove

    Yes?
    No?

    1. Iโ€™d wait for teams to drop. I hope youโ€™re right as I already own him, but there was mention on the AFL site earlier in the week that a fit Pittard may put his spot in jeopardy!

Jonas out though for a month must help his cause hopefully pittard can slot into his spot

  14. Only have the two trades left have Holman spargo and could possibly swing Ahern to mid depending on teams. Only 2 trades left hold or trade the bont

    T/U trade
    T/D hold

Comment trade Holman to shuey or other similar price

  15. With austin out im thinking of just admitting lloyd is too expensive and bringing in angus brayshaw as a D7/M9 (have j0el smith on my midfield bench). Have also brought in harry dear into fwd line so will have links between m/d, d/f and m/f with 4 trades left and 4k in bank.

    T/u good move
T/d hold austin and wait till lloyd drops a bit
(current backline is howe, yeo, sicily, t mac, laird, simpson)

    5

    1
    1. Don’t worry about Lloyd as he won’t provide much value at his price and will limit your remaining moves. Love the A Brayshaw pick as I brought him in a fortnight ago for Andrews. He has only scored under 89 twice in his last 9 games and 5/9 were 100+.

With your 6 trades left an option to establish cover on multiple lines could be:
      Rd17:
      Out: L Austin, B Rice
      In: A Brayshaw, H Dear

      Rd18-Rd20:
      Out: E Phillips, L Ryan, T Smith
      In: rookie, D Mundy, rookie

This would allow you to loop DeGoey and Mundy or loop Rockliff and Mundy whilst providing cover for potential injuries on multiple lines.

Also bringing in Brayshaw will allow you to loop Howe and Brayshaw or loop Rockliff and Brayshaw whilst providing cover for potential injuries on multiple lines.

Also you mentioned Dear which will allow you to switch Sicily to the forward line to cover any injuries and then Brayshaw would be able to cover Sicily in the backline.

      1

      1
        1. Yep that was my thinking too Austin and smith out this week and dear / Brayshaw gives alot of flexibility.
Interesting points re mundy. Will be tossing up between that vs holding remaining trades for injury.

  16. Need some help from the community. Sitting 5th and looking for the top four.

DEF: Simmo, Yeo, Sicily, Laird, Savage, Webster (Murphy, Rice)
MID: Titch, Cripps, Kelly, Gaff, Danger, Oliver, Cogs, Martin (Giro, Ahern, J. Smith)
    RUC: Gawn, Martin (Olango)
FWD: Heeney, Gray, Smith, Mclean, Fritsch, Boak (ZGL, Battle)

    Have 7 trades and $60K
Not confident with Boak as M6
Can do ZGL to Sier (losing M/F DPP) that will give me $609K to trade Boak to any FWD or DEF via Sicily.

TU: Go the two trades with $609K to spend (eg ZGL to Sier, Boak to Westhoff or Lloyd)
TD: One trade only (eg Boak to Mundy)

    Cheers

    1. I would definetly go through with the double trades as 5 trades is more than enough to cover injuries, especially based on how most other coaches are sitting, however I think I would rather prioritise downgrading Bailey rice, over ZGL, so that then you can atleast have some defencive bench cover, as you currently have none, and that would help avoid a reoccurrence of the Simmo late out scenario of last round. Nice team tho and you seem to look all ready and set for the finals!

  17. Yeo laird simpson Hurley Webster hibberd.

    Hibberds being traded too…

    TU: crisp
TD: brayshaw – no loop in mid anyway

Lloyd is to pricey unsure how McVeighs absence will effect him also.

Trade down Geary to Joel Smith as bench cover. Upgrade my final mid Rayner to:

    TU: Gaff
TD: Dusty (to keep 70k for next round trade)

    Cheers all.

  20. Trade 1: Rice out for Lynch
Trade 2: T Smith out for (MID up to $621,000)?
    TU: J Kelly
TD: Wait a week for Macrae (have Sier or Spargo)
    Comment: Pendles, Neale etc

One game clear on top in main league and playing bottom

  21. 4 trades left at full premo

TU: Use two trades to use Wingard as a floating donut to loop with Buddy til years end
    TD: Hold these valuable trades

  22. In a money league need to win. Who to upgrade? Other guy I will keep till next week.

    TU – ZGL
    TD – RONKE

I CAN get any forward of defender with 550k to spend

  23. Out: Keeffe & Phillips (St K)
    In: Lynch & Powell (for D8 & M11)

Leaves me wiht 5 trades, 271k & full premo. Luxury trades would involve Lloyd and Hoff coming in.

    TU: Go for them
    TD: Reassess

  24. Looking to trade Richards to Lynch (both WBD) to leave me with $284,700 ITB and 7 trades remaining. I should win this week in H2H, so should I:

TU: Save the trade, play Ainsworth (WCE) on field for Bont. 7 trades left.
TD: Trade Bont out for Oliver. 6 trades left.

Rest of midfield is Titch, Cripps, Danger (looped), Westhoff, Crouch, Coniglio, Rocky (Fyfe and Dawson on bench)

  25. Looking for a replacement for Bontempelli. Should I follow the pack or go for something different?

My midfield is currently Mitchell, Cripps, Neale, Dangerfield, Oliver, Coniglio, Martin, BONTEMPELLI (Phillips, Ahern, Dawson).

    Thumbs up Westhoff (leaving $12,000)
Thumbs down Shuey (saving me $122,200)

Would leave me with 6 trades left
