  1. Don’t have Gray NicNat or JPK but I’m trading Sicily, swing TMac forward and bringing in Hurn, thoughts?

  2. Sicily to Brayshaw
Averaging 109 the last month, has had a huge spike in contested possies (15 a match) in this time – should keep this up with no Viney

    3
  3. No Lloyd in my current line up, a few bucks stashed away allows a straight swap for Sicily?

JPK likely gets a well earned rest on the pine, don’t own Nic Nat/Gray.

  5. Posted this late in trade talk 1,hoping to get a bit more traction here.

Having copped almost every injury this season (macrae, treloar, fyfe, bont, nic nat and now sic), i am down to my last 2 tradesโ€ฆ.

Do i go big for grundy or stef martin to replace nic nat? Or take bellchambers (his run home has some serious appeal) and upgrade sicily to a top line premo either back, fwd,or mid (dpp magic)

TU: grundy or stef and settle for a slight downgrade on sicily
TD: bellchambers and go big in replacing sicily with a pure premium on any line

    21

    4
  6. Sicily & Nic Nat to Grundy and Houli. At $352k Houli allows me to afford Grundy.
TU – crazy enough to work
    TD – just crazy

    6

    16
  7. TU: Crisp (9 round average of 107 and scores don’t appear dictated by opposition)
TD: Brayshaw (10 round average of 99, 3 round average of 115 but has played bad teams and has a tough run coming up. Low score of 60 in bad loss against Collingwood in that period)

    5

    4
    1. Crisp has played 11 @ the MCG in 2018 for an average of 100.18, including an average of 99 v top 8 teams at the same venue. Has 3 more games at the MCG this season, all against top 8 teams. 1 @ Etihad v Brisbane where he averages 104.5 from 2 games, both against bottom 10 teams!

      1 @ Optus & 1 @ the SCG

  8. Looks most people have Sic in the backline
My fwd line heeney, Smith, gray, McLean, walters have no idea who to get

    Hoff t/u
    Wingard

  9. I have 4 trades, $40k cash and ranked approx 2,000.

    For Sicily should I –

T/U – do a safe swap to Crisp

T/D – take a punt and burn two trades for:
    Sicily to Rampe/Aliir/Walker and
    Walters to Macrae

Potentially more points but bigger risk down to 2 trades left.

    19

    5
  10. 4 trades left, 56 k in bank, ranked 3626 & want to finish top 2k

TU: Sicily to Lloyd and get cover at D7 by trading Ridley to O’Riordan (currently have no defensive cover)
    TD: Sicily to Crisp

Have pretty good cover for the forwards and mids.

    2

      1. I already have a few pods and climbed 1200 places up the ranks last round. I’m about 200 points away from 2000 and I feel that I’d have a better team than most with Lloyd in my side and can make up that ground in 6 weeks with things going my way. Just getting Crisp is a little safer though going forward and Redman is a chance to play the last couple of the weeks of the season meaning I may only be without cover for 3 weeks after this week.

        1

        0
    1. Heeney. Proven. Would be averaging 108 (best FWD this year by a long shot) were it not for his concussion two/three weeks ago!

      3

      0
        1. which should be just about in time for Greene to do something dumb like earn a week off from the tribunal. Avoid.

          7

          1
  11. Trading out Sicily (in FWD line)
T/U: Westhoff (better history + higher season average)
T/D: Wingard (averaging over 100 since moving into midfield, lower ownership)

    7

    3
  12. I have Sicily and Nic Nat to replace, and a $95k bank.

Nic Nat to Steph Martin is a lock. I have McInerney at R3.

So who comes in for Sicily.

Lloyd is too pricey and I’m not willing to risk a Brayshaw / Crisp type. I want a solid, proven performer that will stay on the park.

    T/U Hurley.

    T/D Hurn.

My other Def are Laird, Simo,Yeo,Ryan,Doedee,Hibberd and O’Conner.

    6

    6
  13. Two trades for me this week: Sicily – McDonald and Bont – Macrae.

Leaves me only 1 trade which is mega risky but still have swing bench cover, saving 1 trade for if a ruck goes down. I know I can wait a week on Macrae but cash isn’t an issue and Bont is who I’ll have to trade anyway to get Macrae in. Points are too vital this week for Bont to be on the pine.

Sitting 59th and 284 points from top 10. My only glaring issue is no defence cover. If theres a late out on a Sunday and I miss the McDonald swing back to cover I cop a donut. Heron my 0 so can’t loop this week so a waste having McDonald/Ryan on the bench when McDonald can play fwd. Fwd would be a tad week if I traded Sicily to a D7. This set up will keep me nervous!

  14. I need to bring in a risky cheaper forward to be able to afford Goldstein to replace NicNat. No more than $425K to spend, who would you consider in this price bracket? I have a feeling that Darcy Parish is going to end the year well, averaging 90ish. Seems to have come back very positive from being dropped/injury stint
Taranto I really like but he’s competing against so many other good scorers in the GWS team.
I also think Jack Martin is a future gun.

Obviously none of these guys are likely to light it up, but I think a fwd who could average 90ish is worth it, to get Goldstein who is in ripper form

    3

    1. Jello.

      Not knowing your forward line.

      My best Forwards under $425K.

Billings ended the year very strongly last year.
I think he can he do it again.

      Dollhouse is my second pick.
He has a proven record in SC and although well down on his usual output he is very capable of averaging 90+ from here on.

      1. Thanks mate, I have completely forgotten about Dahlhaus. Interesting option!
rest of forward line: Franklin, Smith, McLean, Heeney, R.Gray, and Sic(now trading)

        1

        0
        1. No worries Jello.

Another option would be to go Steph Martin and Mundy.

I think Steph should average about the same as Goldie.

Mundy sure to get a lot of midfield time with Fyfe still 3 weeks away at least. I’ve owned him all year. Except for a couple of stinkers he has been very solid.

I can’t really see Billings ( Forward only) or Dollhouse out scoring Mundy from here on in.

Just a thought . Good luck either way.

          3

          1. Yeah good options too. Stef would also allow me to consider walters… I’m sure I’ll make my decision at the last minute Friday night after a few beers. That usually works right?

            4

            0
            1. So thats how Wines and de Goey ended up in my side.;)

              Walters has a higher ceiling.

              Mundy is much more durable.

If you are travelling well with trades, Walters is a great option.
Mundy has to be the safer pick.

Good luck whatever you (or the beer) decide.

  15. Well it’s been a fun season all. After jpk, nicnat and siclly plus whatever more late out’s follow I’m now on no trades. Will keep tabs and selecting captains. Have reached 7168 over all. Not bad considering I started Merritt and rockliff and was ranked 174000ish after round 2. Lessons learned and am primed with a solid strategy next year. I took a lot of positives from this season due to this site. Good luck all and have fun.

  16. I have six trades and only Sicily to worry about….sitting inside 2000. Can I sell a trade to the highest bidder ?

    5

    1. Thatโ€™d be a wonderful addition to SC. Selling trades as โ€˜future picksโ€™ for the following season!! Bring it on!

      1. Haha. I’d give you a trade Sainter if I could get back the bombers loss to the blues !!! Ive been lucky with injuries but the karma bus is always one tackle or marking attempt away !!!

  17. My son has asked me to ask the SCT site about these replacements for Sicily, he doesnโ€™t have the funds to go too high on a mid so he can replace Hibberd with Brayshaw!

    Sicily < via Westhoff

T/U …. Dusty $441k ave 101.60 from 10 at the MCG, has 4 more there in 2018 ( ave 89 v top 8 teams at MCG with 2 top 8 teams to play & ave 107 v bottom 10 teams at MCG with 2 bottom 10 teams to play. Also to play GC away & STK at ES

    T/D …. Shuey $439,600 … 4 x tons v top 8 teams at OS, with 3 more to play there in 2018

    13

    0
    1. Sloane $484k, looks like heโ€™s coming good after his signed his contract paperwork. Scoring 127,89 & 141 at the AO v top 8 teams & 3 more to play at AO v top 8 teams

  18. Like most, team was at full premium but now have to deal with Sicily, and also have Gray who won’t play this week, but with no playing FWD bench cover (currently T Smith & Battle) so facing a donut. 4 trades remaining. No way of avoiding the donut without a trade, unless Smith or Battle are named.
    Thoughts are :

This week – trade out T Smith, move Ahern from Mid to Fwd, to cover Gray. Trade in a F/M rookie to mid bench to work in with Ahern, move Sicily to Def bench as have cover – 3 trades remaining and avoid the donut.

Next week – trade out Sicily from Def, move T Mac from Fwd to Def, move Westhoff from Mid to Fwd, trade in Macrae – 2 trades remaining and pray to the supercoach Gods for no more injuries to my players.

    TU – Good plan
    TD – Reconsider

  19. Just putting it out there: Dangerfield has received forward-status in Fantasy. Could this be a sign of things to come next year?

    4

    3
  20. My def is currently brayshaw, yeo, laird, howe, simpson, sicily
My fwds are heeney, mclean, gray, d smith, walters, de goey and I have tmac as bench cover on both lines (swinging with harry dear)
With sicily replacement tossing up between
T/u hurley which means i still have the t mac cover on both lines
T/d franklin which means tmac is d6 but walters/degoey become bench cover across mid/fwd (where I have rocky and dusty as m7&8).

    7

    2
  21. Trading out nicnat and sic with my last 2 trades….

    TU: Goldy and Tmac
    TD: Bellchambers and Shaun Higgins

    3

    8
  22. 3 trades left. $175K in the bank.

Trade Sicily to Dangerfield via Heeney (DPP).
TU- Good trade, Danger will finish the season a top 8 mid.
TD- Reassess. Trades are like gold this time of the year! Only a couple of injuries away from disaster.

    7

    1
  23. Sicily and 42k = 552k for a forward replacement.

Have Hoff, Heeney, Budy, D. Smith, Mclean with Ahern and Smith on Bench…

    Suggestions please as absolutely stuck!

    1. do you have a MID/FWD dpp in your MID line? or TMac down back? or ANO DEF/FWD dpp down back (eg Keeffe)?
do you have cover? ie can you wait a week?

otherwise, maybe Greene as a POD?!

how many trades do you have left?

      that’s a lot of questions! ๐Ÿ˜‰

      0

      1
      1. Haha thanks All Saints!
        No mid dpps
        Ahern cover
No T Mac down back but heโ€™s not to my liking with recent changes to their lineup!
Do you think Greene is over his injuries? Could risk Ahern as cover and wait….brain overload!

        1

        0
        1. Maybe Ahern for now. Depends on how many trades left? Would give you more time to look at Greene.

Donโ€™t let anyone else see this, but have you considered Delidio?!?!?! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  24. Nic Nat and Sicily out

    Tu Martin and Buddy

Td Belchambers and Higgins ( Via loophole ) Takes away my loophole from mid to forward

    9

    2
  25. A variation on the main theme

Nic Nat / Sicily our for:

    TU – Grundy and Howe
    TD – Goldstein and Hurn
    Comment – Sinclair and Lloyd

    3

    6
  26. IS it worth paying the extra cash for Brodie Grundy over Stef Martin? Sad and sorry nic nat owner here.
    Thumbs up worth it
    or
Thumbs down no just get martin
    Cheers

    4
  27. 5 trades with 5.3k

T/U – OUT Sicily, Hibberd – IN McDonald, McGovern – leaves me with 3 trades

T/D – OUT Sicily, T. Smith – IN Yeo, Dawson (swap Ahern FWD which creates M/F swing) – Then next week Hibberd to McDonald leaving 2 trades left

  28. Good morning all.

With Sicily out in my DEF, I will have a total of $611K with 3 trades remaining (prior to this trade).

    Should I trade in:

T/U: McDonald (his DPP for DEF/FWD can be used with Keefe as an option, especially since Gray could be a late out)
T/D: Lloyd @ $595K (because he is Lloyd)

Comment: Other players? Considering Brayshaw or Crisp as other options.

    Thanks fam.

  29. Have both Sicily and Webster with 5 trades and have the following backline
Lloyd, Laird, Simpson, Yeo, Ryan and Webster with Austin and Mihocek on the bench.
Trade idea – Austin and Mihocek for Hurley and Oโ€™Riordan

This leaves Webster on the bench as cover when he comes back so no worry about further injuries. Early on Riordan but need the wins to make finals (currently equal 8th but 10 on percentage). Ahern will cover Sicily this week and then trade him next week.
    T/U Do it
T/D Sicily for McDonald and Webster for Hurley

Theres pros and cons for both with Webster as cover (just a scar tissue injury so assume should come back) and another week to scope the best fwd replacement. Other hand Ahern could flop this week…

    0

    1
  30. Two trades left, playing for league. Three teams at the top, all tied on 52 points, I’m first based on percentage.

I have full premos, except backline. Now that Sicily is injured, I won’t be able to finish with a full premo backline.

My competition this week has Sicily and Gray like me, and I would knock him over 17/18 times. There’s a slight chance he could fluke a win.

I have second place next week, who I am marginally better than.

I have Mirra, Sicily, Mihocek and Murphy in my backline that I can make moves with, and only $10k in the kitty.

    Do I:

TU – Mirra and Sicily for LLoyd and a rookie this week (finish with Murphy/Mihocek as my D6)
TD – Mirra and Sicily for Webster (and depending on prices) a fallen premo like Seedsman / Shaw next week.

    Thoughts?
