  1. Lol talk about a predicament..
Need to trade out Dusty and upgrade CCJ

Can anyone give me 2 forwards with a combined budget of roughly 740k?

Or do I downgrade CCJ to a rookie and field a rookie for the remainder of the year and get in Dunkley?

    Thoughts appreciated!

    1. Either Ruscoe or Rioli would give you around 500k to play with. Both did well in new roles on the weekend.

      2

      3
      1. What role did Ruscoe play and is it sustainable for the remainder of the year?

I don’t mind the roili pick as houli is out and he should continue to play down back

            1. Did cop an little knock late in the fourth though. Came back on, but still looked a little proppy. Monitor.

    2. I’m looking for Dusty to Heeney which means I can wait and see how the Cripps/Bramble loop looks, and have the luxury of bringing in a 600k mid for Cripps.
Heeney looked great in the second half in the middle and their would be options like J Martin, Riewoldt, McCartin Holman and others if you did.

  2. Martin to

TU – Dale (seems to get lots of balls and the kick ins..)
TU – Marshall (give me ruck coverage but might be prone to injury)

I have Gawn/Grundy with M lynch in the ruck bench. Thanks

  3. I’m officially out of contention for finals in my leagues. This has been the season from hell and I’m almost relieved it’s over.

  4. I’m usually not a fan of SC giving extra trades, but feel like 1 or 2 just to keep people involved.

Surely if the COVID affected players stay out they have to?

    1. 100% agree mate, been a very difficult year. I’m down to my last trade with numerous injuries. I’ll probably put the cue in the rack after this week tbh. No interest in it.

      1. Yeah, think it’s tools down for a lot of people.

If I didn’t write for an SC website, I’d be done as well lol.

        1. Very much agree GD.
I won’t walk away just yet, but with my last trade going this week on Dusty, I can see my team disintegrating in the remaining weeks with the current rate of injuries

          4

          1
    2. Yep agree with that. If those players are still out next week then an extra trade would be fair, maybe 2 if there are more players out.

      3

      1
    3. Yeah….just like R3 last year….not !! Problem would be if next round 8 new players are quarantined…where would it end. Dunkley already gone if you believe the rumour mill.

  5. Simple question for me this week. Martin out for:

    TU: Hawkins
    TD: Marshall

Reeves riding the ruck bench so no DPP. Hawkins feels the safer bet, but weighing up the chances of him being rested in a critical SC final vs Marshall’s recent run of injuries.

Will be running the gauntlet with one trade left in the event of another LTI or close game requiring a dice roll.

    24

    23
    1. With one trade left you dont want to get marshall. he is too injury prone at this point of the season

  6. Everyone need your help!!
Dusty out only have 457k 🙁 who comes in?
Buddy, Bolton, thomas? Let me know who you think the best is for that price

      1. Thanks gunboat! Massive pod too I reckon, do you think Cunnington will come back in the team soon and if he does will that affect Thomas’ scoring?

        1

        0
        1. Cunnington may be corona’d for a bit, we’ll see what happens – but North have had Thomas on an increasing CB load for a while now, really been relishing it even with Cunnington in the side.

          3

          1
  7. DEF – Laird, Short, Daniel, Lever, Haynes, Highmore (Bianco, Briggs)
MID – Parish, Macrae, Merrett, Petracca, Kelly, Taranto, Guthrie, Mundy (Edwards, Newcombe, Ralphsmith)
    RUC – Gawn, Hickey (Reeves)
FWD – Zorko, Ziebell, De Goey, Martin, Bolton, Walker (Madden, Macrae)

    Two trades left, $41,900 remaining

Was hoping to save my trades another week, but I have to trade Dusty and Jelly out obviously.

I’m thinking Dusty and Jelly to Wines and Marshall. They seem to be the best candidates to me.

Also, this will be my final post here.

After 10 years of playing this game and putting my heart and soul into it, I will not be returning to Supercoach in 2022. Main reasons being that I get too stressed out over it and I take the game too seriously, particularly with the absolute s*** shows with luck I’ve had in the last 3 seasons, not doing my mental health any good. Ultimately it’s caused me to fall out of love with the game, which sucks. But obviously if you don’t enjoy something anymore, then you shouldn’t force yourself to continue on with it.

Most of you who’ll read this will be probably thinking/saying one of two things

    – Don’t give up the game yet/Don’t give up on the season/Don’t beat yourself up
    – Thank goodness/Good riddance, don’t have to hear this whiney bulls*** ever again from this lunatic.

Either way, all I have to say is thank you to those who’ve been patient enough to attempt with helping me out with my teams and giving advice on who I should/shouldn’t trade. Best wishes to you all for the rest of the season and for the seasons onward. For those making finals, I hope most of you go on to win the GF in your leagues and that you can enjoy this game for years to come ^.^

    1. Your post resonates with me on such a high level. I “retired” from SC back in 2015 for the exact same reasons – stress. But two years ago, the fire was re-ignited in my belly. Take time off if you need, but I’m sure you’ll be back soon with a more positive attitude.

  9. Glad I’ve restrained myself and have 6 trades remaining. Still facing the same injury dilemmas as others, but always thought they’d be handy late…

    27

    0
    1. Well done Pumba, 6 trades should see you rise in the rankings big time. I have 4 left myself and a bit of cash due to being very restrained with trades also. In my main league I have lost 2 matchups by just 2 points and another by not many more. Would have won those matchups if I blown trades at the time but hanging on in top 8 and ready to pouch.
TBH, bit disappointed with all the comments from people on here blowing all their trades and now spitting the dummy about it. Come on, 5 weeks left and only a trade or 2 (or none) left!! I have been playing this game since it started, and yes this has been a very difficult year, but you have only got yourself to blame for not keeping trades for the business end of the season. It’s what this game is all about!

      31

      3
      1. Totally agree Gav. I got smashed early by Danger, Dunks, Heppell, Caldwell, Draper then Marshall, and brought in Gray the week he went down. I still have three trades and cover on every line. Its cost me during the year, but why should my relatively good management be penalised now ? I had to grin and bare 6 bombers/dees in r3 last year with no compensation.

        6

        0
        1. Wighty, I have tracked your bad luck this year in SCTMillions. You have bounced back well to be in the running for top 8 finish so well done, and still 3 trades left! You were the first to bet me by 2 points in Rd 10 then Brad did the same to me in Rd11. Has anyone lost two consecutive matchups by less than 4 points in total!?? Need a win in last round to stay in the 8, just like you by the looks. Good Luck

          1

          0
      2. Spot on. I’ve been playing for years and I should know better. Every time I was line ball on a trade or hold decision – I traded – and it backfired most of the time. I’d have been much better off if I held more than traded.

All my own doing. I’m sure heaps are in the same boat. It sucks but that’s the game.

  10. Last two trades to fix Dusty and get last rookie (Weightman) off field:
    $889k to spend

T/U – De Goey and Heeney
    T/D – Thomas and Franklin

    Comment – other options?

    20

    11
  11. Need to replace Dusty and have the budget to get anyone. Out of the three, who would you take?
    TU: Dangerfield
    TD: Dunkley
    Comment: Marshall
    Thanks in advance….

    34

    5
    1. Looks like Dunkley is gonna be missing two weeks with covid protocols, so definitely danger

      4

  12. My choice to go Dusty instead of Hall about 2 months ago turned out to be a horrendously bad one. Who’d have thunk it?
So, last trade of the season…drum roll please….
Just short of affording Hall & well short of Dunkley, and can’t see them dropping in price enough.
….welcome to the team Jordan DeGoey! Which is something else that I would’ve thought was crazy earlier this season.
Never have I run out of trades this early in a season, but after a multitude of injuries, along with a terrible initial team that needed much fixing, here I am.
    2022, please be kinder.

    11

    0
    1. Why use that trade now? Your rookie was probably scoring just as good as dusty the last ouple of weeks.
Dustys price is hard to get a good player.
Imagine a Macrea going down, those points are more important to fill. Hold on the trade until you really need it.

      10

      1
      1. That’s a fair point JB. The way things are going, there’ll be more injuries to come. Unfortunately, Zorko has to go into the midfield to cover Kelly, and my forward bench is then Brockman & Ginnivan. Gonna be some ugly, ugly scores I think

  13. desperate times call for desperate measures…
I have 4 trades left and was really hoping to only have to do a double upgrade down back. How naive of me. With dusty going out was looking for some thoughts on how reliable bramble will be for the upcoming rnds. As crazy as it sounds I would be willing to trade Taranto or Brayshaw out for a rookie and put Bramble in as M8 which could save me a trade and get me closer to full premo.
    Is this stupid or liable?

    10

    1
    1. Bramble is a solid player for us. With our gutted defensive line, he’s providing some great run and carry.
Also a great decision maker and has some great skill to back it all up.

Can see a nice 85 avg from here on out.
Has the role and is mature aged to top it all off.

      9

      0
      1. I’m going to be looping Cripps and Bramble for the rest of the year if games are rostered favourably for me.

  14. Hey folks, so does anybody know if players from the Swans and Giants that attended the Wallabies match on Tuesday night have been in isolation since?? For example have they been training with the rest of the team, or had any contact with them on the Wed/Thur/Fri/Sat?
If the answers to these questions are a yes and a no, then fair enough.
However if the answers are reversed, then firstly the game yesterday shouldn’t have gone ahead, and secondly all staff and players should be in quarantine for 14 days, not just the 15 mentioned.
Sorry to post this on the trade thread, just a very frustrated supercoacher right now.

    4

    2
  15. So, this might sound weird, but it could work.
    First, Kelly to:
    TU: Dunkley
    TD :Hall
and then I keep Dusty as I then have 2 trades left. $446,200 could be beaten by Bramble or Sharp. Also I can loop hole Martin for captain this week (VC Steele).

    2

    10
    1. Forget it, Dunkley out for 14 days, might just wait for other news and team line ups.
      I hate coronavirus.

      4

  16. With 2 trades left (before any this week), will hold Jelly and play Bramble if he’s out for 2-3.

Dusty -> Shai being my only move if I can help it.

P.S stay away from my super POD Tarryn Thomas, he’s ummmm lazy and unfit….

  17. What rookie mid or forward worth having on my field that is around 140K ?? That will play

Dustin Martin, Weightman 》 Dangerfield, (rookie)

      1. JS interesting for Durham when Langford returns but he was one of Essendon’s better players yesterday. Word from the club is that they love his skills and his work ethic was immense. I can see him holding his spot

        7

        0
  18. Team is in disarray and have to use final trade of the year:

    T/U:
    Dusty –> Zorko
Field Reeves/Z Smith R2 for rest of season

    T/D:
    Z Smith –> Marshall
Field Waterman/Briggs F6 for rest of season

    9

    8
      1. SC needs to implement a refund system for all GWS players next year. They’ve never been kind to me.

        5

        0
    1. For me i’d keep your rucks locked in and try and play matchups. They have the potential to get more consistently better scores then your F6 option.

Then get the best high priced premo you can get. Not sure i’d want Zorko over Danger/Dunkley can you afford either of them?

      1

      0
      1. Can’t afford Dunks (he’s out for 14 days anyway), already have Danger, Zorko next best option.

I’m stuck with Reeves/Z Smith for remainder of year – big chance to be only fielding 21 every week.

        2

  19. Will Rioli keep on playing? Planning to do this

    TU: Dusty,Weightman > T.Hawkins, D.Rioli

    TD: Dusty,Weightman > R.Marshall, D.Rioli (Marshall injury history a risk)

    7

    4
  20. Worth? Which one would you pick?

    TU:Dusty,Weightman > J.De Goey, M.Lewis

    TD: Dusty,Weightman > T.Hawkins, M.Lewis

    12

    2
  21. Hey guys. On my last trade now after copping CJ, Impey, Langford, Whitfield and now Mills and Dusty. Thoughts on who to bring in with a ceiling of 456k
    T/U – Bolton
    T/D – Matt Kennedy 3Rd avg 94, 5Rd avg 93
    Comment – Tarryn Thomas 3Rd avg 96, 5Rd avg 86

    10

    3
      1. I’ve been watching Tarryn for a couple months now.

Has to be him or Shai at a discount.

Taz gets underscored by CD. Few games there where he should have been an easy 100+ and was scored at a measly 90 odd.

Good around the contest and can drift forward and kick a goal / set up a play. Also very fun to watch. Cunnington back in won’t effect him besides a slightly reduced CBA count.

        1

        0
  22. TU:Dusty,Weightman > P.Dangerfield, T.Fullarton

TD:Dusty,Weightman > J.Dunkley,M.Parker(F6 but risk of getting dropped and having no cover)

    4

    2
  23. Hi everyone!

Last trades to move Dusty on:
    T/U: Dunkley
T/D: Mitchell (is on fire for the hawks offlate!!)

    Thanks and good luck.

    2

    21
    1. Besides the game on the weekend Titch hasn’t really been much better than the first half of the season, just seems CD has been scoring him better.

If you’d like the DPP for potential cover etc. go Dunks, will only get better over the next couple, otherwise definitely Titch.

      3

      1
  24. Moving on Weightman & Dusty as my last 2 trades

    T/U – Bolton & DeGoey
    T/D – T.Thomas & Guthrie (M8)

Comment – Bont & Ruscoe – Loophole between Ruscoe F7 & Bramble M9 each week

    5

    13
  25. two trades 50k left 1 upgrade to go. (FWD)

Need to move Dusty so hopefully Langford and Whitfield are back soon.

This is a good week to cash out on Weighman but if i did that i would have no trades left for the rest of the season. So i might just keep him and Cox looped at F6 and have 1 trade left in the bank for a suprise injury.

If i do the double upgrade i’m looking at two players in the 400k range like everyone else

    1

  26. Whats everyone think about Chol for Richmond. Seems to have a solid position locked in and after this week the tigers have a soft run home at 378 he’s a good bet

    4

    0
  27. Anyone who has traded in Dunkley needs to hit that reverse button – facing 2 weeks isolation after attending a Covid exposure site.

    9

    0
  28. One trade left and should replace Dusty as I only have Briggs on the bench and he’s in isolation.
TU: do I just endure a doughnut for a few wks and keep my sole trade in case an expensive premium, such as Zorko or Merrett, goes down?
TD: trade Dusty now and sit it out for the season with a full team…but absolutely no backup.

    5

    16
  29. Some are calling for extra trades due to all sorts of things, I don’t think there should be extra trades it would be a bit unfair on those how took some hits earlier in the season to save trades until the end of season, OK you can all give me some flack now.

    27

    2
    1. For sure. However 70% of teams have dusty so 1 extra trade to replace him or just even some cash doesn’t seem too unreasonable.

      3

      22
      1. Don’t like them adding trades this late in the season.

I actually think it could be a good move in future seasons for them to up the total trade count, but lock some of them away as finals-only. Ie. 32 trades total, 4 of them that can’t be used until finals.

It might be “dumbing it down” a bit, but most new (and new-ish) coaches struggle because they burn their trades too early. Holding their hand a little bit might see more coaches sticking out the season. Still rewards those who trade efficiently, because they’ll have extra trades to work with.

        6

        2
  30. Any love for Isaac Smith? 3 and 5round average of 100,470k DPP too
Low ceiling (105) but high floor (one score under 77 since round 3)
    POD value 4.7%

    17

    1
    1. If it’s your last upgrade, Hall.

If you’ve got another upgrade to do, then go De Goey and pocket the 50k.

      9

      0
  31. 2 trades left with 10k in the bank. Dusty needs to be traded out and I’ll need my final trade in a few weeks to fill my final DEF position (at the very least would like enough $$$ to trade Bramble > Whitfield when he bottoms out).

Therefore I kinda have to select a budget FWD.
Naughton looks tempting as he’s likely to drop to Sub 300k next week and this would give me plenty of cash to play with for that last DEF spot. Dogs have a decent draw with Port in the last round who Naughton previously scored a 98 against.

Otherwise also considering Sidebottom, Daniher, Darling, McKay, Heeney, Walker

    Dusty > Naughton?
    TU: Yes
    TD: No
Comment: Who the better option is

    Cheers legends!

    4

    12
  32. Dusty and Jelly to deal with this week. Minimal cash in bank so Dusty to Bolton seems a no brainer. Then if Jelly is sidelined for multiple weeks will trade him to one of the below;

    T/U: Wines
    T/D: Neale

    13

    7
  33. Need 2 of Bolton, Tarryn Thomas, Hawkins, RoMo, Dale, Hind, DeGoey. Please help

Would leave me with 1 trade left. Jelly

  34. ruscoe looked really good last week across half back but just wondering if anyone knows what will happen to him with howe back this week?

    2

    0
    1. Dropped off after he returned from that AC joint injury, but looks solid now. 35 touches, 12 contested, 7 clearances the other day; only held back by 60% DE and two behinds.

Ceiling probably clipped with Danger back, but looks to be building his TOG and form back up.

      1

  35. Highmore has a broken hand and is having surgery. Out for a few weeks. I don’t think there has ever been a SC season like this 2021.

    9

    0
  36. Have held my nerve a still have 4 trades left & 94K in the kitty. Banking on the fact there’ll still be plenty of injuries and player management from here on.

Not really at full premo. Still have mid-price plodders like Duryea (D6), Heeney (F5) and Atkins (F4), and cows like Bianco, Weightman, Madden, Treacy & CCJ ready. But a reasonable amount of cover.

But very tempted to sit tight for a few weeks just to cover off.

    4

  37. Martin in gone with my last trade. Who do I bring in…..?

    T/U – Rowen Marshall

    T/D – Shai Bolton

    Regards.

    7

    13
    1. Or do I trade Jelly for Zorko as his ankle seems pretty bad and may not be worth risking for GWS for rest of season….

T/U – Yes, do that. We cannot trust GWS + Zorko will outscore Marshall and Bolton easily

T/D – No, He may be back for final couple of rounds + Dusty is 100% gone for season.

      3

      17
    2. Just on Shai, he along with Cotchin and Dusty were the main 3 at centre bounces for Richmond last week with Baker a distant 4th. Prestia will be in there when he comes back in and that has pushed Shai forward in the past but with Dusty out for the season I think Shai stays.
Marshall’s injury history is a bit of a worry.

      5

  38. have had a finished team for a couple weeks but now down to 1 trade thanks to langers. dusty out, ___ in?

    TU – t thomas
    TD – marshall

keep in mind i love a POD at this stage of the season, and also don’t really trust marshall’s injury history, especially with 0 trades left

    10

    1. As a precautionary measure, St Kilda opted not to have Joyce fly interstate as his current exposure site tier remains unknown, while gun tall Rowan Marshall will head to Perth despite being an attendee at the rugby.

      1

      0
      1. And there it is.

ST KILDA will be without Rowan Marshall for its important clash with West Coast after the ruckman discovered he had attended a Tier 1 exposure site in Victoria before travelling to Western Australia.

        2

  39. 2 positions to fill for dusty and flynn.

    TU – Bolton and Marshall

    TD – DeGoey and DeKoning

2 trades left 64k in bank.

  40. Good Luck

  41. Game rescheduling has thrown plans from looking good to tough decision/s. Two multi choice options.

T/U One trade…Dusty to Marshall/Hind/ Hawkins/I Smith or even Langdford
T/D Two trades….Dusty to Heeney and have the cash for Cripps to Track/Zork/Danger/Neale/Lyons

    Comment….who trade in ???

No choice but to go for League wins. Option 1 allow Cripps/Bramble loop to stay if Scott not selected.

    12

  42. For those with Jelly:

    GWS Giants: Josh Kelly (Ankle)

“Had scans yesterday, he’s likely to be available for this week.. that’s a real positive that there was no serious damage”

    Giants GM of Football
    Jason McCartney

  43. GWS medicos are awful. I recommend adding any GWS player to the never again list for SC, it has saved me a headache or twelve this season.

Hopefully Brockman and Madden keep their spots this week.

I’ve got 2 trades left, Looks like it’ll be:

    Dusty > Lloyd via DPP.

And last trade will be Bramble (at his highest $ point, whenever that will be) > whatever MID/DEF or FWD/MID DPP will be affordable.

    3

  44. I’ve seen a lot of comments regarding Rowan Marshall. Just remember he came back from his foot injury and lasted just 4 weeks . I know he’s very tempting for a number of reasons because I’ve considered him too, but unless you have enough trades or very good cover he’s a big risk. Roll the dice if you must. Good luck

  45. Pretty simple

Leaves 4 trades and 73k to upgrade Sharp/Bramble in a few rounds

  46. 3 trades left, $128.9k in the bank.

    Thoughts:
    MARTIN & WEIGHTMAN > BOLTON & MARSHALL.

Gets me to full keeper, but only 1 trade left for the year and $7k in the bank.

TU: Do it – getting to full keeper is worth it.
TD: Use 1 x trade for Martin to Bolton/Marshall and hold the remaining 2 trades for injury cover (keep Weightman/Madden as F6)

        1. It has only just been graded as a tier 1 site. There are specific rules which the AFL are following. His team mates didn’t visit the tier 1 site. Yes he played along side them but that requires a different response for them.

  51. I am totally sunk. Zero trades left and Dusty and Greenwood on the line. I’m going to switch to AFL fantasy next year after 27 years of SuperCoach when it started in the newspaper. There’s not enough trades to manage the team properly. Two per week until finals isn’t too much to expect. Thanks for the memories Herald Sun. Bye

  52. It’s hilarious those sooking about injuries…
Of course there is a little luck but those running off because they traded too hard early and now they aren’t prepared are perhaps better off at an easier form like fantasy.
I won my cash League back to back in 18/19 and lost last year after the extra trades were gifted…
I’m sitting ok this year with 6 up my sleeve however Marshall, dusty, Langford in fwd line…
Hopefully Whitfield and Cripps are back however Sharp and Bramble going well anyway…
Those that aren’t sooking and are hanging in there, good luck.

    1. Well said Timboon.

I do feel for those that copped a heap of injuries this year.I personally had to cop a donut and a few league losses after having the Whitfield / Mills double outs last week. Some time sh#t happens, that can’t be avoided.

Saying that , most of the SC relevant players that copped major injuries this year. Rowell , Danger , Williams, Neale, Jelly, Whitfield , Heeney, Duncan. (there’s more I’m sure ) All of these player either had limited preseasons due to coming off LTI’s or like Whit, Williams, Jelly and Heeney were known to be injury prone due to their history.

The only Durable players I can think of that copped injuries were Dunkley, Ridley , Guthrie and now Dusty.

Also we were already given 2 extra trades this year. Some folks went all out at the Byes, and used those extra trades to avoid donuts ( getting in suspect rookies ) or making sideways trades on players like Grundy or Zorko. These players were only missing 2 weeks, and both came back with strong games, so keeping them was the right call.

If you choose to play aggressively then so be it.

SuperCoach is a marathon not a sprint. How you choose to play this game determines your outcome.

If you want to save trades…

Pick a durable starting side, ( keeping an eye on Bye structure ) and when upgrading through out the year, and you have a choice of two players, pick the one with the least injury history, even if you have to pay a little more. If the majority of your side holds up, you may have the luxury of a sideways trade to deal with a Cripps type false Premo. I always set aside 22/23 trades to get to full Premo. 2-3 correctional trades early. 19-20 for 1 up 1 downs ( an extra 1-2 downs as Cash never quite works out. ) This only leaves 7-8 trades for injuries and any sideways stuff. This is approx 1 every 3-4 weeks.

If you pick too may Injury prone / suspect mid pricers a heap of your trades will be used trying to get these players to proper Premo’s rather than upgrading your on field rookies.
It’s ok to have one or two “risk / reward ” type players, but get them in later in the season if you have great cover or a few injury trades.

I say good luck to those that picked durable players and saved trades, you deserve to finish the season strong.

      1. Nice! That’s a really useful way to break down trade strategy. Thanks FT.

This is my first full year and I really bombed the bye rounds, but I held trades well and had 4 left going into this round. I got suckered a bit – started Cripps and always planned for him to be my last trade, which is exactly what I’m doing this round, and jumped on Heeney at his floor only to trade him out with only an increase of $50k ish.

That said, so many comments early in the year were saying to short falling premos and outlined really aggressive trade plays. The sentiment is to value trades at $150k, which doesn’t mean much in your first year, so it was hard to know which is the better move. I think there were clear ones, like correcting Neale early, but my bye performance showed me you can’t play too conservative with trades either. They don’t earn interest, so you may as well use them!

Even now I’m unsure of trading out Cripps given the Covid isolations and their impact, but hey, shoot your shot. Fun game, crazy year haha

Nick Blakey…Why Lizard was ‘rattled’ by Horse and sent to where he’d never been before
A move to defence has regenerated Nick Blakey in his third season….
By Martin Pega at AFL Footy…earlier this week…
Blakey has quickly warmed to his latest role, gathering 37 disposals in his two matches playing off half-back against West Coast and the Western Bulldogs…..Note about Dawson…Blakey’s return to the starting 22 for the first time since round 10 has allowed Jordan Dawson to move up to a wing where the left-footer has collected 51 disposals and kicked five goals in the two matches….

  55. 5 trades left & $24K ITB but not full premo with Murphy, Edwards and Madden still on field.

DEF: Laird, Rich, Ridley, Lloyd, Short, Murphy (Bianco, Briggs)
MID: Walsh, Bont, Mitchell, Zerrett, Oliver, Kelly, Boak, Edwards (Newcombe, Downie, Fyfe)
    RUC: Grundy, Gawn (Reeves)
FWD: Danger, Ziebell, Hall, Hawkins, Dusty, Madden (CCJ, Ginnivan)

    Thoughts on potential trades??

    CCJ to Durham for cash

    1. Yep, start with CCJ -> Durham and Dusty -> De Goey.

From there you’ll have to run a rookie at D6 for the rest of the season. Then use 2 of your last 3 trades to get a fallen premo M8, leaving 1 for injuries.

      Strong team, TPC. Good luck.

      1. Thanks GD, I think Shai can really finish strong. And with Richmond needing to win a decent chunk of their games you’d imagine he will be keen to play well and get plenty of mid minutes. And we all know what he’s like when he goes up forward

  60. 4 trades left, 107K in bank. Playing league and guaranteed top 2 in cashie.

Laird, Lloyd, Stewart, Whitfield, Williams, Daniel…..Highmore, Bianco

Macrae, Bont, Steele, Oliver, Walsh, Mitchell, Zorko, Taranto… Newcombe, Sharp, L Edwards

    Grundy, Gawn…. Reeves

Dangerfield, Hall, Ziebel, Dusty, Greene, Weightman… Madden, Waterman

Thinking of Dusty and Weightman to Bolton and Ginnivan

That would leave me with 348K to go from highmore to either a Parish or Touk, but only one trade

Or I could go to Guthrie and Ginnivan, Marshall in forward line next week, and spend the left over cash upgrading someone like Zac Williams or Taranto, although will be left with no trades.

TU Bolton and Parish/Miller, one trade

TD Guthrie, Marshall, upgrade Williams/Taranto, no trade

T/D – Dusty to Lyons. Leaves me $10k left and 1 trade

  62. 2 trades left and very limited cash available. Have to get Dusty out this week and hoping I can use my last trade in a few weeks for my final DEF upgrade.

    Which is the better option?

TU: Dusty, Bramble > Bolton & Howe
TD: Dusty, Bramble > Heeney & Whitfield

    3

    0
    1. Do you mean Jeremy Howe? Wouldn’t be touching him considering you won’t have any cover if he gets reinjured. Who are your other defenders? Short, Daniel, Andrews, Saad and Cumming all better options than Howe in that order.

If you can just do Dusty to Bolton this week, holding Bramble for another round should give you about $40k more to spend on a better defender next week.

      4

      0
      1. If you read my original post it says that Im planning to use my final trade in a few weeks time. By then Jeremy Howe (who is expected to be back next week against West Coast) will have bottomed out potentially to a sub 400k price. He would only have to get through 2 matches which doesn’t seem too unrealistic. Of course if I can afford someone like Whitfield then I would definitely select them but I realistically think his price will be just out of reach

If I select Bolton this week I’ll only have 35k in the bank and will be heavily reliant on Bramble’s cash generation so I’d probably have to consider someone sub 400k which would mean all of those players you listed would be unattainable.

Seeing as Richmond play Sunday arvo, I think the best thing for me to do is to delay my Dusty trade until after the Hawks game on Saturday night so I can see how Bramble scores. If he scores well then cash gen shouldn’t be an issue and Bolton seems like the obvious replacement. If he scores poorly, I might have to select a Heeney type as Bramble’s cash gen could dry up.

        1

        1
        1. That sounds like a fair plan regarding your trade this week. I just personally don’t think Howe is a good pick when you have cash. At that point of the season you’re looking more at who can play the best for 2 weeks and Howe will be managed given his recent injury history.

So if you’re looking for your last DEF to play for 2-3 weeks tops, it’s just about who’s in form/has favourable matchups under your budget. If Howe seems like a good bet, go for it but there’ll be plenty of other “in form” defenders available in a few weeks time and that could easily outscore Howe.

  63. Trading out Cripps as a luxury upgrade and have a total of $629,200 to spend on a Premo. Currently have Steele, Walsh, Bont, Zerrett, Oliver, Gurthie and Telly. Will leave me with 2 trades to see out the year.

  64. 2 trades left. Holding Langford till he returns from injury – can’t afford to trade him with so few trades left. Madden & Weightman are acting as F5 & F6 unfortunately.

Contemplating trading Weightman out. If I do trade him, I’ll have $471,600 to use at F6. Best players available at that price are: Hawkins, McDonald, Thomas, Sidebottom, Heeney (and from next week, Greene & Ro Marshall).
Should I trade Weightman to one of these guys?

TU: Do it – make the trade to one of those either this week or next and finish off your side (leaves just 1 trade for injuries)

TD: Don’t – those 2 trades are like gold right now with potential injuries (Keep Madden & Weightman as F5 & F6)

  68. So I have 2 trades left and I’ve got dusty and a rookie still in the forward line. I’m only playing for league and I’m on top with my projected most weeks in the 2,500 range so I’m wondering whether I get Danger and Shai in now or do I just get Danger now and hold off for another week or so for Dunkley

        1. That would be the best thing possible Freo, but unfortunately can’t get it done without copping a 0 in the fwd line. Hawkins/Snelling is basically my Dusty replacement and Bramble will become a “premo” M8 next round depending on which forward i bring in this week.

          1. Yeah I get it.

I like Bolton then as he’s cheaper and will help afford the better Mid next week, If you own Bolton , then Hawkins.

            1. Yep, I already got Bolton in for Impey when it was a choice between Danger and Bolton (that cost me about 120k in cash generation and a ton of points haha)

At this stage it’s a toss between Hind/Hawkins but think the ceiling factor of Hawkins tips him over the line.

Loop Bianco and Madden at D6 ( Mills)

If you want to free up some cash for next week ( Bramble to Premo Mid. ) , maybe Waterman to Matt Parker ?

    Best of luck.

Sharp and Bramble holding up well for you at M7-8

I have Mills out as well and hoping Bianco ( looped Mid ) can put up a decent score tonight. I will take 55+

I also have Fyfe and Kelly, but am lucky enough to have Durham playing last game as back up.

Tonight I will have a keen eye on Butters. If he does well, I may wait a week to trade Dusty. If not I will go Bolton.

Let’s just hope there’s no more carnage.

        Best of luck.
