  1. Need to bring in Marshall, desperate measures
    Who goes out:

    TU- Jezz Cameron

    TD- Mundy

(keep in mind Cameron has Gold Coast at home in the granny)

  2. Which teams are most likely to employ a tagger?

I ask because I worry about my POD’s (Cunnington) output against the Hawks this week…

    1

    0
    1. Also a Cunnington owner, Smersh. Hawks didn’t tag Neale this week, who is perhaps the best inside MID atm, so Cunnington should be fine.

        1. North’s run home is: Hawks, Cats, Power and Dees.

Only game I can see Cunnington getting tagged in is v Port. Sutcliffe will go to him, but he’s not a very experienced tagger so Cunnington should be able to out-manoeuvre him. Might even be dropped tbh.

As for designated taggers, there’s Steele (StK), Hutchings (WCE, and back this week), De Boer (GWS Boer, who’s still out) and Clarke (Dons). Don’t captain anyone matched up vs one of those teams when their respective taggers are in.

There are also guys like Harmes (Dees), Howe (Hawks), Curnow (Blues), Hewett (Swans), Scheer (Suns) and Banfield/Brayshaw (Freo) who occasionally tag, but it’s circumstancial and they’re not always guaranteed to tag. Eg. Curnow, Harmes and Hewett have been playing as pure inside MIDs and haven’t been tasked with applying a heavy tag lately.

Hope that clears things up, Smersh.

  3. Matt Crouch to Duncan

good run home for Geelong, I can’t afford Trelor, Macrae or Bont

    TU-Yes
    TD-No

    16

    32
  4. Current MIDS: Macrae, Fyfe, Neale, Cripps, Bont, Merrett, B.Crouch, D.Clarke

Who should I trade Clarke out for thats under 575k?

  5. Thinking of going D.Clarke – Landlands and Hanrahan – Lycett.

This will then allow me to use Heeney as a F7/M9 swing bench cover and Lycett as F6 and insurance for Grundy/Gawn in case of emerg (via Bines).

For some context i have 6 trades left and 150k banked .

    T/U Good idea
    T/D Save the trades

    31

  6. I have 3 trades left with Logue, Clarke and Setterfield as cover. With Luke Ryan, should I:

TU: Use 2 trades to bring Whitfield in leaving 100k for last trade
TD: Use 1 trade to bring in Houli or Stewart and have around 10k in the bank but 2 trades

    1. Hold off for now. Haven’t heard any news on Ryan. They said it was a corkie, nothing structural. There also wasn’t any urgency to have him persist, so we can’t get a read on him. Should know more tmmrw.

      1. Stay away from sloane i think – tags plus the crows are absolutely cooked, much to my disappointment

        8

        0
  7. Last roll of dice .
Can only have 1 of Gawn or Marshall.
Would you prioritise Billings / MCrouch to Marshall T/u
    Or OBrien to Gawn T/D
    Both require 2 trades .

    1. Don’t think “consistency” can be counted among Parker’s credentials.

He’s had a sharp decline in form over the last month; 3 sub tons in the last 5 weeks for a 5RD average of 93. Meanwhile Yeo has found some hot form over the last few weeks and is actually more consistent than Parker with only only 3 sub tons in the last 10 weeks; two of which were as a result of tags and the other was a 90.

  8. Use my trades in Defense and Forward is full premo just hoping Setters and Clarke can hold mid for now.

  9. Who is good bench cover one needs to go so i can get Neale for last Prem mid

    TU: Setter

    TD: Clarke

    10

  10. Started late so 6 trades left:

Def: Lloyd, Houli, Sicily, L.Ryan, Hartlett, Quaynor (Naish, hinge)
Mid: Neale, Macrae, Bont, Cripps, Danger, Zerrett, McCluggage, D.Clarke (hately, hind, sparrow)
    Ruck: Grundy, ROB (Fort)
Forward: Boak, Heeney, Ziebell, Cameron, Hawkins, Chol (Hanrahan, Gardner)

    118k itb.

L.Ryan to Whitfield if he’s out yeah? Any suggestions if he isn’t?

    1. You have a number of upgrades to make so I wouldn’t touch ryan.

Get birchell in to d 6 and run with that defence.
      And turn hately into langlands.

Then next week bring in a top.mid for clarke then work on the f6 upgrade

      3

  11. Hey guys, what’s my best move here?
4 trades remaining and 343k in the bank
    Only interested in cash league.

Def: Lloyd, whitfield laird, ryan, Sicily, Smith
    (Answorth, gardiner)
Mid: Macrae, fyfe, cripps, Neale, Sloane, oliver b crouch, clarke (Hately, hill, scott)
    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Clarke)
Fwd: Marshall, Kelly, danger, dunkley, greene, heeney (Chol, young)

    Questions I have :

Should I trade hately or clarke to yeo or bont? Or should I just wait on jelly and trade clarke to him.
I don’t have Boak but think it’s too sideways moving greene or heeney to him.
Trade clarke to gaff and then chol to langlands. Then wait until GF and upgrade

    So many decisions!

  14. Hey supercoach brethren, i think i know what i want to to but wouldn’t mind a cheeky poll with the lads so here goes. This is going off ryan being out for a few. I have 3 trades and 20k left, rank 882 full premo team.

    TU: Ryan > Stewart
    1 trade left or;
    TD: Ryan > Stewart
    Goldy > Gawn

    Cheers lads

  15. Came 3rd in my work league and the only league I care about (defending champ)

    Only threats are 1st & 2nd and I need a final midfielder.

I don’t have Macrae but they both do…do I get him to nullify or do I get a performing POD they dont have like Duncan or Yeo.

    TU: Macrae to nullify
    TD: POD (poll below)

  16. Novice after advise please
Need to replace injured Defs, Ryan & Quaynor
TU Bachar Houli/Francis Watson (does he keep his spot?)
    TD Kade Simpson/Birchall
    Comment: Rory Laird/Birchall
    Thanks

      1. If you need the money then birch will score 80-100 most weeks and is 200k.
Pairs though is consistently 100 and if he lifts has a higher ceiling. But you have to pay for it

        2

        0
    1. Houlis run home is all mcg. So very juicy. He SHOULD average over 105 for run home . Ps. Wait on ryan. If it’s a corky he will play this week anyway

      5

      0
    1. Ceiling is yeo. Gaff gets leather poisoning most weeks and falls over 100.
Yeo scores tons for fun. As long as he doesn’t return to Elliot yo-yo of previous years

      2

      1
    2. Reckon yeo gets 30-40 pts just for his contested work and tackles so his downside is limited. Upside has no ceiling.

      3

  17. wow don’t know how i made it to the final i’m not even full premium. Had a lot of injuries in team only rookie i have left is Setter and Clarke in my mid field hoping they can do well and get me a win so i can trade Setter out next-week for prem mid!

    1

    1
    1. Toss of a coin but I would say Yeo because he is scoring well and his team is winning.
Treloar is scoring well but team losing so I expect their star mids to start lifting and taking his points….maybe? Maybe not but it’s a theory!

      2

  18. Have D. Clarke as M8 atm – J. Kelly on bench – 1 trade left.
Finished 2nd in league – should I trade Kelly to win this week or leave?
    TU – Trade
    TD – Hold

    1

    18
    1. Wait to hear what Kelly is doing. I think it’s worth losing week one of finals to save a trade. (maybe win anyway with smart captain choice)

This week gives you a free throw at the stumps. If you lose, back yourself to beat lesser opp in round 2 of finals. And then jelly should be back anyway and you still have a trade if some injured or rested.

      2

  19. Def: Lloyd, whitfield laird, ryan, Sicily, Smith
    (Answorth, gardiner)
Mid: Macrae, fyfe, cripps, Neale, Sloane, oliver b crouch, clarke (Hately, hill, scott)
    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Clarke)
Fwd: Marshall, Kelly, danger, dunkley, greene, heeney (Chol, young)

    4 trades 364k INB

TU Clarke/ hately to premo mid & Chol to Langlands

TD Clarke/hately to premo mid and chol to Hawkins as a F7 cover

    2

    8
    1. Love the Chol to Hawkins move and hopefully several coaches were handsomely rewarded as I’ve been recommending him as a cheap F6-F7 option over the past 2-3 weeks.

With the leftover cash you could trade Hately to Cunnington and keep Clarke or the alternative is to keep Hately and trade Clarke to 1 of Z Merrett, M Bontempelli or E Yeo who are all under 550,000.

      2

      1. Thanks Adam.
I noticed you spruiking him! I really like the look of using him as cover and loopholing with Rob young.

Also if a mid is out I can put a dpp into mid using I Hill and play hawk on field.

Need to wait in L Ryan…But maybe get away with playing noah Answorth week one if finals and then having the week off and seeing how it looks then .

        1

        0
    2. Definitely go Hawkins. He is a good loophole with Heeney as well so might meet you an extra 50 points…

      1

  20. 4 trades left and can’t get to full premo due to Kelly whits and other injuries requiring sideways trades so have to field D. Clarke and pray I get through the first week.

Upgrade this week for Bewley will be Oliver or Bont

    TU Oliver
    TD Bont

    13

    9
  21. Lloyd, Whitfield, Williams, Sicily, Hurn, Smith (Answerth, Quaynor)
Macrae, Fyfe, Neale, OLiver, Cripps, JPK, Zerrett, MCrouch (Clarke, Bewley, Hill)
    Gawn, Grundy (Bines)
Danger, TKelly, RGray, Heeney, Lycett, Greene (Chol, Young)

5 trades, $170.5k bank. Finished top4 in both leagues.
    Should I look to?

    TU: Luxury upgrade MCrouch/Smith.
TD: Upgrade bench cover in case of future carnage eg. Chol > Hawkins
I wouldn’t argue with suggestions! Cheers SCT coaches!

DEF: Lloyd, whitfield, houli, stewart, ryan, sicily (hinge, naish)
MID: macrae, fyfe, neale, cripps, yeo, Bcrouch, kennedy, taranto (clarke, hately, baker)
    RUck: gurndy, gawn
FWD: dunks, danger, boak, daniel, Tkelly, worpedo (chol, gardner)

2 trades but only 30k in the bank

  23. Tossing up whether to use last trade on:
    TU. B Smith to Whitfield
TD m crouch to treloar or mid up to 575k
    Leaving b Smith at d6.
Full premo side already with Smith, he has been solid enough to hold his spot.
Plus he is out scoring Sicily and Stewart

    10
  24. Trade Hurn:

    TU: Laird
    TD: Rich

Also frees up a bit of cash to trade m.crouch to yeo.
Comment if I should either. Thanks

  25. 3 trades left, $75k, do I:
TU – Trade S Martin&D Clarke(for cash reqd) for Gawn&Langlands. Langlands will sit on bench.
TD – Hold/put up with Martin rest of year. A bench trade is a waste now. Other pressing issues (Gray F6, Walsh M8, M Crouch M7, T Stewart D5)
    Thanks

  26. Current team with 4 trades left:

D: Lloyd, Williams, Hurn, Laird, Whitfield, Sicily (Logue, Quaynor)
M: Fyfe, Neale, Cripps, Oliver, Yeo, Treloar, B.Crouch, Clarke (Setterfield, Baker, Hill)
F: Dunkley, Dangerfield, Boak, Walters, Heeney, T.Kelly (Chol, Gardner)

T/D – Fix up my defence (Sicily and Hurn)

  27. Had my best round of the season this week with a 2560.
Three trades and $38k in bank, what should I do this week for finals?

    Here’s my team:
Lloyd, Williams, Hurn, Laird, Smith, Sicily (Answerth, Burgess)
Macrae, Neale, Oliver, Cripps, Bontempelli, Merrett, Steele, Dusty (Hill, Hately, Scott)
    Grundy Gawn (Bines)
Danger, Marshall, Boak, Kelly, Cameron, Setterfield (Chol, Gardner)

I’m thinking of upgrading Setterfield, thoughts on Hately to Langlands and Setterfield to Greene? Any other suggestions feel free , cheers

  28. Made my cash league finals….just. Got 2 trades left and am thinking of trading Goldstein back to Gawn. Goldy has more then exceeded what i though was possible since I got him in. He is now priced more then Gawn but my worry is Gawn has a rather soft match up this week against the Tigers while Goldy faces big boy who has been in fine form the last few weeks. Also opponent this week has Gawn. Whats the communities thoughts?

T/U: Go for it. No bonuses for having trades left if I lose
T/D: Goldy will score the same as Gawn this week…or some other reason.

  29. Lyon in L Ryan..

Luke Ryan, what’s the update there?
Hamstring, I don’t know how bad. He had a cork, he was limping out and then it was a hamstring so if it is, hopefully it’s a standard three week.

    TRADE TU
    HOLD TD

  30. Just missed top 4 on % in my main league, and tough encounter coming up this week in elim final. Been wanting to upgrade Rob to Grundy since r14, but always had other more urgent issues. Got 4 trades and 101.3 itb. Oppt has Grundy/Lobb (Kreuzer)vs my Gawn/Rob(Bines). Assuming Hurn plays (Burgess is cover)……..

T/u Rob to Grundy using two trades.
T/d R Gray to Bont using 1 trade.

    14

    1. Surprised this is so one sided. I reckon either alternative gives me an extra 30-40 ppg on average, but only one move costs two trades.

    1. I’m interested in this choice, I feel Collingwood has a softer run home so Treloar in my thoughts is better placed ( without Adams) to score well?
      What’s people’s thoughts…

  31. I have 6 trades left and $95k in the bank. Trying to finalise my defence. Currently have Lloyd, Whitfield, Laird, Hurn, Stewart, Sicily (Logue, Gardner).

Can’t decide whether to upgrade Sicily or Stewart to Williams. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance

  32. T/U: Cunnington -> Treloar
    T/D: Worpel -> Treloar

Will leave me with 3 trades left and will probably ride with this team and save trades for injuries

    10
  33. Ryan and Hanrahan our this week…can afford either combo..
    Tu Birchall and Dunkley/Marshall
    Td Houli and Lynch/Greene

    14

    8
  34. Three trades left full team. No cash. In knockout game in my cash league.
    Sideways B Crouch to Duncan?
    TU-YOLO go for it.
TD- just hope for the win and save your trades.

    8

    13
    1. B Crouch could outscore Duncan for the rest of the season, who knows? Save your trade unless you get a definite upgrade.

      2

      2
  35. I have 3 trades left with only 5k in the bank in top 4 in both leagues need to trade Ryan but also have Ziebell who could cost me games
TU: Ryan to hunter clark and hold Ziebell another week
TD: Ryan to Birchall and Ziebell to Marshall left with one trade

    1

    15
  36. Which is a better trade in ? Both almost same price

    T/U. YEO
    T/D. LYCETT

Need a Mid or A forward under 550k. Is there any better choice other than these 2.
    Please suggest.

  37. Elimination final this week for me so using 2 of my final 3 trades!

    TU
    Option 1: Clarke + Chol -> Snelling + $515k FWD
    (1 trade $0 left)
    Leaves me with the following
FWD: Dunkley, Danger, Marshall, Heeney, Gray,
    $515 FWD (Cameron, Young)
MID: Macrae, Fyfe, Neale, Oliver, Cripps, Merrett,
Crouch, T Kelly (Snelling, Hately, Hill)

    TD
    Option 2: Clarke + Chol -> Snelling + $515k MID
    (1 trade $0 left)
    Leaves me with the following
FWD: Dunkley, Danger, Marshall, T Kelly, Heeney,
    Cameron (Gray, Young)
MID: Macrae, Fyfe, Neale, Oliver, Cripps, Merrett,
Crouch, $515k MID (Snelling, Hately, Hill)

  38. So I’m still Fielding rowbottom, d Clarke. Should I upgrade them or ziebell?
Only 2 trades left but going for scalps 😀 , would probs have about 200k to upgrade
    TU ditch a rookie
    TD ziebell

Setters and Clark (& Bewley) are my Mids bench … who to keep :

  40. Hey coaches,

I’ve got 5 trades left and mainly just playing for leagues and glory.

Thoughts on Ryan > Birchall, D Clarke > Walters. Will leave $221k in the bank with 3 trades for an injury/final DEF upgrade.

Walters opens up the DPP option in my mids and forwards and is basically resting as an M9 – although I’ll prob end up moving M Crouch to the pine.

T/U – go for it. Need the cover in finals.
    T/D – better options like Treloar/Macrae/Yeo

P.S – my forward bench currently is Chol & Hanrahan.

    Cheers

    1. I like the move considering your position.
I think you need Macrae but Ryan’s really forced alot of people’s hand this week.

That’s very strong mid and forward cover and you can loophole walters score possibly too

      1

  41. Team! I need your advice again.
    4 trades and 346k

    Def
Lloyd, whitfield laird, ryan, Sicily, Smith
    (Answorth, gardiner)
    Mid
Macrae, fyfe, cripps, Neale, Sloane, oliver b crouch, clarke (Hately, hill, scott)
    Ruck
    Gawn, Grundy (Clarke)
    Fwd
Marshall, Kelly, danger, dunkley, greene, heeney (Chol, young)

I’m playing for cash league and I’m minor prem for both.

    TU
    luke ryan >houli
    Clarke > bont

    TD
    Luke ryan > houli
    Chol > Hawkins
And swing Kelly to mid field this week and play hawk.

Then have 2 trades remaining for the final 2 rounds (assuming I win first round)
Then bring in j Kelly and have 1 trade for injury?

    8

    0
    1. Chol to Hawkins is a luxury (although I get Hawkins’ BE is about to skyrocket). You need to move on Clarke now.

If super-keen on Hawkins, move one of your forwards (say Heeney) to the mids and get big Hawk – but it means he will be on-field (risk) until you move Heeney back to the forward line.

      1

      0
        1. An option could be
          Out: L Ryan, M Chol
          In: J Johannisen, T Hawkins

Roughly 290,000 to 300,000 left and 2 trades and with dpp you can play Hawkins and move Clarke to the bench for this round using one of your premium fwd-mids.

Will allow you to potentially go Clarke to Kelly or instead you could grab Merrett which should leave you enough funds to upgrade Answerth to T Stewart, etc.

          2

  45. Full premo with 3 trades remaining. Is it worth burning two trades to upgrade one of M.Crouch/Hurn/J.Cameron/Stewart/Sicily to Marshall/Bont/Parker/Whitfield/J.Kelly?

    T/U: Yes
    T/D: No

    1

  46. Midfield is Macrae, Fyfe, Neale, Treloar, Cripps, B Crouch, Parker and Clarke. 3 Trades left and $52k in the bank. I wanted to get Duncan this week for my last mid spot but my rookies didn’t make enough cash, so I could wait a week to get Duncan or get a premo that is under $517k. I’ve got a double chance as I was in the top 4. I’m looking at these options:

T/up – Gaff (leaning to him)

T/down – Sloane (Risk of getting tagged)

    Comment: Merrett, Cunnington or Shuey

    7

    1
  47. 2 trades remaining. Happy with my team heading into finals. But….considering running the gauntlet and moving on….

    M. Crouch into Selwood
    Ryan into Rich

Finished 4th and 5th in the two leagues I’m focused on….so it’s a case of hold trades and play Logue at D6 or the above.

    TU: Selwood + Rich
TD: Logue D6 + hold trades

    4

    0
    1. Can’t play Logue at D6, just not convinced Selwood is the right option. He has only tonned up 4 times this year.

Maybe Cunnington at his low price if cash is an issue?

      4

      0
      1. @M….already have Cunners. Alternatively, I can downgrade either Cameron or Bewley to non playing rookie and go Ryan into Whitfield.

Crouch is bugging me though. My thinking is that going Ryan into Rich and Crouch into a similarly priced player, the scoring potential of both, will outweigh the potential of just Ryan to whitfield.

Another line of thought was Ryan into a Finlayson priced player and Crouch into full premo.

  48. 4 trades left and $14k

DEF: Lloyd, Whitfield, ZWilliams, Laird, Stewart, Sicily (Logue, Quaynor)
MID: Macrae, Fyfe, Cripps, Neale, Bont, BCrouch, Taranto, Sheed (R.Gray, Clarke, Answorth)
    RUC: Grundy, Gawn (Bines)
FWD: Danger, Dunkley, Marshall, Kelly, Greene, Worpal (Chol, Gardner)

Really stuck with where to upgrade … Maybe Stewart to Houli/Hurn? Or Worpal to Boak? I have Robbie Grey on the bench which is a lot of $$ to sit on the pine but is good cover for mids/fwds in case of late outs. Help!

    1. You’ve got a lot of cash sitting on your mid bench. I’d consider downgrading Clarke or Answerth to 102 rooki amd using the cash to upgrade Greene, Worpel or Sheed to Uber premo.

  51. Upgrading Dylan Clarke this week and can get a mid under 525k. Already have Merrett and Sloane. Thinking either Duncan or Taranto. Was initially thinking Duncan but concerned about his role changes so now leaning towards Taranto. But still unsure on who to get.

    TU – Taranto

    TD – Duncan

    T/U: Yes
    T/D: No

  54. 2 trades remaining, cover on all lines.

TU: Ryan straight to Sicily (1 trade remaining)

If mid misses can be put on ground in forward line and have a fwd/mid go in middle to cover

    1. I don’t think so. Indications from West Coast are that Yeo will be asked to go head to head with Cripps given his bigger body size, which would leave Curnow to pay attention to Shuey or Gaff. No point tagging someone who is busy paying attention to your best midfielder.

      1

      0
    2. Very possible, Brad. If Hutchings is IN, he’ll deal with Cripps. Suspect Teague will then try to balance the scales by tagging Yeo.

    1. If you’re looking for consistency, Worpel.

If you’re looking for highest ceiling, Cameron (has Gold Coast rnd23).

If you’re looking for value, Hawkins.

If you’re looking for a real POD, Lynch.

If you’re looking for an unpredictable 34 year old, Mundy.

      I’d go Worpel.

      1. Great summation, BB.

I really like Lynch as a POD, TPC. Plays the Dees and Blues, so should kick a couple and score well. Even v Eagles and Lions in the last two rounds he’ll do alright playing at half forward; few contested marks, etc.

  57. Unsure about which trade to do, I have 3 trades left and $52k in the bank. My midfield is Macrae, Fyfe, Neale, Cripps, Treloar, Parker, B Crouch and Clarke. I really wanted to get Duncan this week but my rookies didn’t make enough cash, I’m also going for league wins and have a double chance (playing the Phantom):

T/up – Trade Jarrod Cameron to a cheap rookie (non-playing) this week, leaving me with 2 trades and roughly $200k. Hope Clarke makes enough cash and hope Duncan doesn’t go up too much in price and trade him in.

T/down – Trade Jarrod Cameron to a cheap rookie (non-playing) this week and trade Clarke to Gaff, leaving me with 1 trade left. Don’t take the risk with Duncan.

  58. 4 trades left $250K in the bank. Need to cover the Ryan injury. Other defenders are Lloyd, Hurn, Laird, Sicily and Smith. (Answerth and Rotham).

1 upgrade on field needed being Dylan Clarke at M8. Other mids are Macrae, Neale, Fyfe, Oliver, Cripps, Merrett and M Crouch. Full premo in forward line.

Should I trade Ryan to Whitfield and then upgrade Clarke to Heeney to be full premo?
Or bring in Rich/Stewart which would allow me to bring in a Yeo/Bont type for final mid spot.
Playing qualifying finals in all my leagues this week. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    1. I’d be thinking about what you’re playing for. You mentioned that your opponent has Marshall and you don’t. It’s not always the best idea to have a long list of common players. I find more enjoyment in going head to head with huge lists of uniques.

If playing for points though, option 2 for sure.

      1. Very true but Marshall and Fyfe are two of his unique. Otherwise I bring in J Kennedy to loop with Cameron and have more money to bring in back up defense.

  60. Have been really disappointed with Sicily as of late, full premium team with Sicily at D6 and Logue at D7, is this trade worthy? I have 5 trades left currently.

    Bewley > Langlands (M8)
    Sicily > Whitfield

My backline would then become: Lloyd, Williams, Hurn, Whitfield, Houli, Rich (Logue, Gardner)

TU: Yes absolutely, Whitfield is a must have, will make backline stronger.
TD: NO, too late in season for sideways trading, should be focusing on strengthening D7, M9 and F7.

Need to replace Ryan. I’m going Whitfield.
Can move on Clarke from mids to final mid premium with 532k.
Leaning toward Taranto with the final up against gold coast.
My other mids consist of, Macrae Fyfe Cripps Oliver Neale Duncan and M Crouch.

  64. Current team
Def- Lloyd, hurn, houli, whitfield, williams, Stewart logue and naish

Mid- cripps, neale, fyfe, m crouch, gaff, Treloar, oliver, clarke scott, hately and Hind

    Ruck – gawn grundy sweet

Fwd- danger, Heeney, Marshall, boak, ziebell, dunkley young, gardner

    Thoughts on these trades
Tu- trade logue to a 102k defender and then trade Clarke to yeo
Td trade logue to a 102k player then trade Clarke for T kelly then gives me 60k to trade out ziebell for a mid or fwd the week after if he doesn’t score well again
    Thanks in advance

    1. Can you afford to get rid of Hind for Langlands and upgrade Clarke for a premo mid (eg Cunnington is so cheap). This gives you m/f flexibility and keeps Logue as a backup in your defence in case of injury. Just a thought.

      2

      0
      1. Thanks for the feedback mate, can trade hind to Dunkley and then Clarke to a 540k mid, who would you recommend? Quite like the look of Duncan and taranto

  65. Hey guys. Long winded question but really need done input (especially looking at you All Saints and Gunboat Diplomacy). Always helpful. So….

I finished top 4 in $50 league and $100 league but only top 8 in $150 league. I have 3 trades and 52k left. I have full premo with Lobb as F7 and Dunkley in my midfield. I had planned Clarke to Freo 102k M/D (dpp with Answerth) and upgrade Logue to Whitfield making Sicily/Smith D7 so i can loophole best score with 102k player. Next week i would put Dunkley forward and Heeney to mid and trade Heeney to Cunnington with my final trade. Although I’d have no trades I’d have premo backup on every line plus ability to loophole to get a better score potentially. Firstly is this a good idea? Secondly, Lobb played lay week with a sore shoulder but is out this week injured. He’s not on injury list and no mention of he’s likely back next week. He did this to me lay time the week Gawn was out and i copped a donut. I don’t want to trade him if he’s back next week as he’s good ruck cover but if i go with original plan i need to trade now to afford it all. My team

Lloyd. Williams. Houli. Laird. Smith. Sicily. (Answerth. Logue)
Dunkley. Macrae. Fyfe. Cripps. Neale. B.Crouch. Sloane. Merrett. (Clarke. Hill. Stocker)
    Grundy. Gawn. (Bines)
Dangerfield. Boak. Billings. Daniel. Heeney. T.Kelly. (Lobb. Chol)

Sorry it’s long… what to do? Argh!

    1. Hey, Scots.

An elaborate but really interesting plan, great DPP links and no doubt having premo cover on each line would be fantastic, but I think it might be best to try and hang on to a trade- rather than boxing yourself in.

Your plan seems to be based on you wanting a) Dunkley out of your MID line and b) Heeney out of your team, but I don’t think there’s cause for concern there; Dunkley is fine as a MID given his ceiling and is stronger than a lot of peoples’ M7/8s and Heeney is as competitive and F5/6 and you can get, not to mention his named in the center this week. Your cover is really good right now, don’t think it’s worth burning your remaining trades to bolster it.

Instead, you could just grab a rookie downgrade and then go Smith -> Whitfield. Leaves you full premo, solid cover and 1 trade- a really nice spot to be in.

The obvious question there is why have I suggested offloading Smith instead of Sicily. Smith’s role is too up in the air and his recent 127 came off the back of a bag of goals, which isn’t going to happen every week. Before that 127, he hadn’t tonned up since R6. Sicily, meanwhile, has shown his ceiling and just needed to re-adjust with Birchall back in the side.

Either way, great team and good luck in your cash leagues.

    2. Wouldn’t trade Heeney to Cunnington as it doesn’t seem worthwhile.

Dunkley is fine to leave in the mids for the remainder of the season.

Options for your remaining trades could be:
      1. Out: M Chol, Rd21 G Logue, L Stocker,
In: D Langlands, Rd 21 L Whitfield, rookie

      2: Out: D Clarke, M Chol
      In: B Cunnington, D Langlands,
Allows Langlands to move to the mids to push Dunkley back to the fwds if necessary and Hill and Langlands in the mids allows you to switch a fwd/mid to the mids when Lobb returns. Also allows Cunnington to be looped with Crouch etc via L Stocker and if 1 of Langlands/Hill gets dropped it allows Lobb to be looped with Heeney/Billings/etc.

      1

      1
    3. Thanks guys. Good thoughts. My reasoning for the first two trades is more about cover as well as loopholing guys like Smith and Sicily and Lobb and Heeney. You’re right. Don’t need to trade Heeney to Cunnington. That loophole could mean an extra 50 points.. my main concern is will Lobb cone back in next week or should i offload him now?

      0

      0
      1. If you go ahead with my 2nd option recommended you can keep Lobb for the remainder of the season as Dunkley can be switched forward. Or the 30,000 left over could be used to trade Lobb to the Hoff keeping the ruck cover or Mundy which could allow Dunkley to be switched to the fwd line and Mundy looped with Crouch or Cunnington at M8.

        2

        0
      2. You could go Lobb -> Langlands and then Logue -> Whitfield. That way you can keep Sicily and Smith.

        1

        0
        1. Maybe Chol to Langlands and Smith to Whitfield. Leaves 135k. Hold that last trade till round 22 and either swap Dunkley fwd for Heeney and go Heeney to J.Kelly if Lobb is back or Lobb to any mid under abut 565k. Thoughts? Would still have Answerth and Logue as backup as well as Clarke and Hill in mids…

          0

          0
          1. Eh, not sold on just leaving Lobb there. If he was playing, different story; but like you said, we know nothing about his injury. With the season shot Freo may very well put their prize recruit on ice, like they’ve done with Hogan.

            2

            0
            1. Agreed. But if i go Chol to Langlands and Smith to Whitfield i will have 135k to upgrade Lobb to any mid bar J.Kelly. so torn. Lol. Bloody Lobb. If he wasn’t R/F he’d be long gone!

              0

              0
              1. Ah, yes, I see. Because you’ve got those DPP on the bench. You’ll still have a benched premo in your MID or FWD line though- same problem as before. Hmm.

I don’t mind Chol -> Langlands and Smith -> Whitfield, problem is it leaves Lobb benched and useless. Why the compulsion to hold?

                0

                0
                1. I want to hold as he’s a good F7 that i can loophole his score and also covers R3 if required

                  0

                  0
                  1. He’s none of those things if he’s not playing.

Ultimately up to you though, Scots. Plenty of options above, all of which are sound. Best of luck, let us know what you decide!

  66. Currently sitting 1st in league, with 4 trades, and decent bench cover. Playing for leagues, slight favourite this week as is, would love to get the win and have the bye next week

    Looking to deal with
Logue D6, Lycett F6 – potentially fix both issues, have cover to hold as well and keep the powder dry
    Bench cover:
Burgess/Naish, D Clarke, Hately, Langlands, Hill, Garner

TU – Trade Logue and Lycett for Toby Greene and Lachie Weller
TD – Trade Logue and Lycett for Whitfield and T.Hawkins
Comment – Hold Lycett, he’ll only be out one week and you have cover
