        1. just saw the Gaff hit ,
AFL will give him 4 ,
these high paid players think that they can just go around king hitting kids like that ,
he should be charged by the police , pure & simple ,
that wasn’t footy , that was violence ,
all those WC supporters that cheered him off should be ashamed of themselves also ,
if Gaff doesn’t get 8 weeks for that low act , then Brayshaw should sue the AFL for not providing a safe workplace ,
there’s no room for this sort of pointless violence in the AFL , or in society ..
make an example of him ……

  1. 2 trades left with only 22k in the bank….
In this predicament where i have to probably make a trade for cash and then to upgrade i use my last trade. Don’t think i have any injuries this week which is a positive but you never know what will happen during the week. Any player i would want to bring in would require 150k probably.
Is it worth making 1up 1down or should i hold and use it in dire needs?
    TU: Downgrade
    TD: Hold

        1. All saints…
          Gaff to Macrae &
          Walters to Menegola ?
Geelongs run home is niiice .
          Or
Have t Mac in backline (going average and next few weeks harder)

          What’s your thoughts

          2

          1
          1. have you got Kelly? he has more to play for than Macrae. Likewise Menegola has more to play for than Walters. Your MID trade is a MUST. Once you’ve done that who can you afford for:
            a. Walters, and
            b. TMac
i’d be looking solely at premiums who have to be up til Rd23. the majority seem to be going above ave. right now, and can’t see that changing for sides who are playing virtual finals every week.

  2. Finished second in league, and won first final. Just checking, do I get a bye this week?? 2 trades and have gaff!!!!
    Also got 2696 this week

  3. If you think gaff will only get three surely you are in the world of make believe.
Don’t worry about playing Richmond. They don’t tag and did you not see Friday nights Geelong scores?

    1. I haven’t seen the incident I heard it was a punch?
Just heard from ground they had to leave mouth guard in on way to hospital..
      How long you think?

      1. Watched it live on Foxtel!

Saw the replay, 3-4 times, I think it will be referred straight to the tribunal. Depending Freo’s Medical report, could be 4 possibly 5 weeks IMO

        5

        2
      2. 6 weeks. There is no way he gets less than that. It was horrible and the injuries to Brayshaw are both serious and season ending..

  4. Gonna have to go Martin to Grundy, simply need to match the big guns in my league, other weak spots are Ahern in FWD and Lynch in DEF, but should be able to wait a week on those
1 trade left, 150k after Grundy upgrade

    5

  5. So mad i have to trade Gaff.

    Gaff to Macrae like many.

However after finishing 1st in majority of my leagues and this week losing 8/10 games i feel have to match most of my oppenents who have grundy.

That would require blowing my last trade going (goldy – grundy)

T/U – Blow the last trade Grundy is a must

T/D – Goldy will be fine against the ruckless dogs (reassess next week)

    3

  6. Gaff has to get btw 6-8 weeks.
The AFL has too much to lose by only giving him 4.
Bugg got 6 by giving a guy concussion last year. You break someone’s jaw you have to get the same or more.

He is so important to WC too. Could have just thrown any chance they had of winning the flag out the window.

    7

    -1
    1. Mills played the very next week after Bugg’s hit and he got six weeks.

Brayshaw is gone for the season after Gaff’s hit so six at least.

      4

      0
  7. I only have one trade left and i know i have to get rid of Gaff. I won my match so i have a week off. So is it better to do the trade this week and risk an injury than risk not being able to afford the player i want if i wait til next week?

I only have 520k going Gaff to Crouch.

    4

    1
    1. If there’s any doubt you’ll be able to afford him next week, I’d get him now.
But it might also be worth checking out Break Evens (posted today) and Fallen Premiums later in the week, to see if you fancy anyone with a high BE this week, who might drop into your price range next week.
I’d say it is preferable from an injury perspective to wait the week if you can, but only if you’re certain to be able to afford someone you like/want.

      4

    2. In the same predicament. Will have $560,000 for Gaff trade but with Macrae’s BE at 71 I feel his price rise above what I can afford.
      So the options are:
      1. Use one of my 2 trades left to get Macrae this week (week off)
      2. Not trade and look for the next best affordable option
Will be waiting for the Polling Station which I hope is best affordable options for replacing Gaff

      7

      5
  8. I have 2 trades and $66.2k.
MID – Titch, Cripps, Danger, Dusty, Merrett, Oliver, Cogs, Gaff
FWD – Heeney, McLean, Gray, Smith, Menegola, Fritsch/Ahern
Look to trade Gaff out for Macrae leaving me with 32.5k.

Is it worth trading out Fritsch which will leave me with $402.9k.
The best option is probably Mitch Robinson.
    T/U – Make the trade
T/D – Hold the last one
Comment – Any options you think are better

    0

    10
    1. Have you got TMac down back?! You could probably sub him FWD and get a better option in your DEF line for the money, eg A Kennedy (GWS) – he looks better every week!

      1

      0
      1. Unfortunately not, can only bring in a forward. Although I do have sauce in the ruck but feel like I need too much cash to upgrade him this late.

  9. 1 trade left

wanted to do this last week but needed to get Lloyd for Howe.

    TU: Martin to Grundy
    TD: Save trade

Can’t make the trade hereafter due to having 139k in the bank and their disassociating prices. Grundy probably going to smash Ryder as he’s not at 100% and good chance the dockers are without Sandi.

    11

    4
      1. In the two leagues I care about I’m in a prelim and a semi. I feel pretty confident that I’ll win the semi, but I don’t feel confident at all that I can win the grand final in that league without Grundy against the guy I just lost to (he scored 2690 to my 2639 with Lynch covering Howe). He also has 4 trades up his sleeve, so I need to go for broke. Like I said I can’t go Martin to Grundy after this week and it’s likely that a donut would cost less than the difference between those two for the rest of the year. Stef also just shared the ruck with McInerney more than he has all year with McInerney having 17 hitouts to Stef’s 24. You could be worried that this late in the year they will really start to share the ruck in order to put work into McInerney and Martin could be scoring 80’s like he did last year whilst Grundy is scoring 130+.

  10. 3 trades left

    Gaff > Selwood
    Nank > Grundy

    T/U: nice
T/D: just trade Gaff to Macrae/Kelly and save yourself the last two trades to survive finals.

    10

    3
  11. Got 3 trades left. Going for league..
Gaff to sidebottom, ahern to buddy TU
Gaff to Macrae, spargo to rookie and play Ahern TD..

    3

    6
    1. Gaff to Macrae makes a load of sense, but I’d reevaluate the other trade. Sydney might well struggle from here!

      5

      1
  12. Need to trade Wines. I give great credence to FD argument about returning to long term averages. Kelly average last three weeks is 155…Macrae 114. Macrae 47k cheaper.

I need one more trade….heater to Lloyd and can’t do it if I get kelly

    T/U Macrae
    T/D Kelly

    11

    4
    1. With the exception of the last quarter against Port, Kelly this year only beats up on poorer midfields and teams that let him play and run in space. He is the most damaging player on the outside in the league and poor teams don’t man up. His scores of 110+ this year have been against Bulldogs (116), Suns (146), Lions (149), Port (130), Saints (130) and Blues (205). All of those except port were easy wins for his team and he was never tagged in any of those games. Upcoming games are Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne and the first two teams are likely to tag him.

      6

      0
        1. No worries, I can’t guarantee that trend will continue and I think he’ll still score well but I think Macrae is definitely better option if it also allows you to get Lloyd.

          6

          0
          1. At least I have someone to blame if it goes pear shaped !!! LOL. I’m always concerned about bring in premos late season that are in teams with little to play for.

            2

            1
            1. Haha he already has nothing to play for and is playing decently. You never have to worry about the likes of Fyfe, Neale, Zorko or Cripps playing well despite the fact their team is cooked. No reason to think Macrae won’t be the same.

  13. Hi All,
Would appreciate anyone’s thoughts on what moves I should make over the next few weeks. Have made it through to the prelim in my cash league so in a pretty good spot but don’t want to fumble the ball now.

    1. I’d seriously consider Martin to Grundy now as it will save you quite a few thousand not waiting. You’ve then got options on a luxury trade or two after your week off ready for your Prelim. You can reassess then. A lot can happen in a week!!!

      3

      0
      1. Thanks allsaints
I was thinking that and then, barring injuries, turning mihocek into a Hurn/Brayshaw.

Dusty to Macrae is tempting too

        2

        0
        1. Sounds good.

I do think Dusty will be playing himself into red hot form for their Qualifying Final tho’. You’d think he has to for the team and his confidence. He’s not there yet, that’s for sure.

          0

          0
    2. If it were my team I would look at getting a sixth premium into the defence/fwd. Even a fallen premium would suffice. Options I would consider include Menegola / Westoff or Hurn/ Brayshaw / Webster / Shaw.

      1

      0
      1. Agree.
These should be prioritised ahead of a Dusty trade for mine. More potential points. Menegola has the form, the fixture and the need, to perform til Rd23.

I still think Martin to Grundy above all else though. Suggested this to a few last week and would have made almost 100pts already. Can’t afford to not have him I’m afraid.

        0

        1
  14. Yes agree re backline guys but fwd line not so easy. Menagola or Mundy pretty safe yet Robinson, who I have, was more expensive than all of them a few weeks ago and has a 170 to his name this season.
I am staying clear of Westhoff. He looks like he doesn’t actually play a position or gives a crap half the time.

    3

    1. Assuming you have a rookie on field for Savage as he’s done for the year, upgrading to Lloyd would probably get you more.

      0

      0
        1. Not sure I agree with that. Lienert is going ok as cover.
Grundy is killing it. He has a 40pt+ 5Rd ave, a 50pt+ 3Rd ave. And a 30pt straight ave. advantage over Nank.
Last week alone, he would have made you an extra 71pts.
He’s the best trade I’ve made this year by far and single-handedly wins you games against teams that don’t have him. Still only 23% ownership.

If you have two trades, you could always get an A Kennedy type in for Savage and loophole he and Lienert at D6 to optimise down back.

          5

          1
          1. Love the A Kennedy idea allsaints but unfortunately doesn’t allow me to upgrade Nank to Grundy or even J Kennedy to Kelly/Oliver.

            0

            0
        2. If Lienert is your cover, then I agree with AllSaints, Nank to Grundy would most likely net you more points from here on out.

          4

          0
          1. Cheers for the advice boys. Here’s the full team. I feel there are too many holes to plug as midfield worries as well! My opponent this week scored 2650 in his elimination final win and I’m looking down the barrel unless I go for broke.
Nank to Grundy tempting as opponent doesn’t have him but weak backline with Ryan and Lienert and some concerns with Curnow and Kennedy in the middle.

            B- Brayshaw/Laird/Yeo/Tmac/Ryan/Lienert
            (Savage, Ridley)

            Mid- Mitch/Danger/Cripps/Macrae/Cogs/Kennedy/
            Martin/Ed Curnow
            (Ahern, Powell, O’Connor)

            Fwd – Smith/Hoff/McLean/Heeney/Gray/Walters
            (Ronke, Battle)

            Ruck- Gawn/Nankervis (Cameron)

            2 trades, negligible cash(4.5k)

            0

            0
            1. Who does he have at R2? I think you’re best chance is Grundy whoever it is. He is so über consistent that he’ll give you more than any other trade.
Does Savage to A Kennedy give you enough to make that trade? Otherwise there are a couple of DEF rookies on the bubble who will give you the cash. Ryan at home to CAR, might be OK.
I think you have to cross your fingers on JPK and Curnow. Can you loophole Curnow and Ahern just in case Ahern goes big again?!?
With Sydney’s season on the line I’d think JPK should be ok.
Fingers crossed and good luck mate.

              1

              0
              1. Cheers allsaints…he has Stef Martin at R2, so I’ve got to hope he doesn’t trade him in for Grundy too! Loophole options all closed off with Sydney, Essendon and the Cats playing early, otherwise would have been good.
A Kennedy a great call but doesn’t generate enough cash to make the upgrade. Savage to A Johnson might be a good call and then Nank to Grundy but may be just clutching at straws. Just got to hope the cards fall my way! Yes Ryan at home to my hapless Blues and JPK could come off…fingers crossed! Thanks for the advice.

  15. Last trade to be used on gaff 🙁
League opposition has 4 players different to me. Do i…

T/u. Match him and bring in macrae
T/d. Go for pod with selwood

    4

    3
      1. Fair play. Was in a rush at work so didnt think the whole thing through

Me: neale, devon smith, pendles, gaff*
        Him: crouch, gibbs, mundy, macrae

        0

        0
        1. Go Gaff to MaCrae to cover him off. If Fyfe plays this weekend Mundy will spend more time forward and Neale won’t be targeted as much by the opposition and should score better. Gibbs is questionable for scoring and I own Crouch and am not convinced I should have ever brought him in. Adelaide play GWS who have a good midfield.

          1

          0
  16. Have two trades left, missed finals so just trying to finish strong.
Who would be best to upgrade jpk, heeney or mclean.

    0

    1. Kennedy. He pretty much sacrificed his game last week to keep Pendlebury quiet and did a good job. May do similar over the last few weeks.

      3

      0
  17. Need to get Grundy in so its Martin > Grundy
Leaves me with 419k to replace Gaff in the mid field. Come in Cotchin. Leaves two trades.

    TU – Go for it
TD – Trade Ahern to 102k rookie, Replace Gaff with GWS Kelly. Run with Martin in the ruck against Grundy. Bank 177k for two trades next week to get Grundy.

    5

    8
  18. Gaff – Cotchin (easy run home) and Stef Martin – B Grundy (have lost 3 games because i dont have him).
Or Just use 1 trade and do
Gaff – Either Selwood/Duncan. And just keep stef martin.

    Cheers guys

  19. Def: Yeo, Lloyd, Laird, Simpson, Hurn, Webster (J Smith, Lienert)
Mids: Mitchell, Cripps, Dangerfield, Kelly, Oliver, Coniglio, Gaff, Martin (Ahern, Sier, Phillips)
    Rucks: Gawn, Martin (Cameron)
Fwds: Smith, Gray, Heeney, McLean, Fritsch, T Smith (Mundy, Battle)
    Trades: 4
    Cash: 83.4k

Have a week off this week in all leagues that matter.
Think Gaff to Macrae this week is the most logical choice, and then S Martin, B Fritsch and a high priced rookie out for Grundy, a fwd that’s scoring well (which seems not many) and a low priced rookie. I am tempted to hold Fritsch though simply because of the limited options.

    3

    0
  20. Final Team:
DEF: Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Hurn, Mcdonald, Hurley (Austin, Stoddart)
MID: Titch, Cripps, Danger, Cogs, Pendles, Crouch, Menegola, Jelwood (Ahern, Giro, JSmith)
    RUC: Gawn, Martin (Olango)
FOR: Smith, Gray, Heeney, Mclean, Fritsch, Caddy (Guelfi, TSmith)

2 Trades left, $21,200 in the bank
If I lose this week I’m out and my opponent scored 2620

Do I upgrade Fritsch or upgrade Martin to Grundy as he doesn’t have him, and hopefully won’t bring him in.
    Cheers everyone

    1
    1. I’d go Grundy and A Kennedy in for Martin and Fritsch (via Menegola). you can then loophole A Kennedy and Ahern through JSmith at M8 this week.

Guelfi is unlikely to play this week, so having Menegola FWD is your safest option. Hopefully Grundy gives you a 70pt start and you just have to hope that one of Kennedy and/or Ahern goes large.

There may be better options and hopefully you’ll get more responses, but if I HAD to win this week, that is what i’d be doing … if I had any trades left!!!

      Good luck.

  21. Hey guys,
Made an ultimate blunder with my trade last week as I brought Macrae in. I wasn’t sure whether to surrender Coniglio or Gaff for him and opted for Coniglio. I am an idiot!!
2 trades left and 180k in the bank. Got 3 elimination finals this week.
    TU: Gaff > Kelly
TD: Martin > Grundy and play Ahern on the field.

I will forever live to regret going Coniglio instead of Gaff but who would’ve expected what happened last week?

    3

    3
  22. $170k and 2 trades left.
Through to Prelim so no absolute need to trade Gaff this week but I don’t have Kelly and he’ll go up by $40k or thereabouts. Mids are Titch, Danger, Cripps, Oliver, Crouch, Dusty, Coniglio and Gaff.

TU. Risk the injury and get him now
    TD. Assess next week

    Cheers all!

  23. Biggest decision of my season now with who to replace Gaff with. It’s out of Danger, Kelly and Macrae I reckon. I might be just leaning towards Danger more since he loves playing the Hawks, Cats have to lift, and also the fact they have the Suns and Dockers at alphabet stadium to come.

    Current Mids for me:

Mitchell, Oliver, Gaff*, Coniglio, Martin, Beams, Merrett, Cripps (Ahern, Philips, Sier)

    T/U – Danger
    T/D – Kelly
    Comment: Macrae

    Need to upgrade Michocek

  27. MELBOURNE ruckman Max Gawn could only walk laps at training on Thursday, but coach Simon Goodwin has backed him to play in the Demons’ crunch clash against Sydney on Sunday

Gawn arrived late to the session at Gosch’s Paddock on Thursday morning with Sam Weideman and Mitch King handling the ruck drills in his absence.

It is believed Gawn may be suffering from a calf issue, although Goodwin refused to elaborate on a specific injury and instead described his ailments as various “bumps and bruises”.

  31. Does anyone know how to check your supercoach score if you have already been eliminated from all your leagues. When l click on GameDay it takes me to other people’s teams and can’t see my team. Anyone know how? Much appreciated.
