  1. Hurn and Parker were the ones I planned on looking at this week.

Will all come down to selection and if there are any decent downgrade options as well.

      1. Everyone has a bye coming up apart from Melbourne and Essendon players so not too fussed getting Hurn in the week before a bye especially when I’m assuming he will have a fairly low BE for this round.

Also am glad I held onto Cameron and Georgiades for the whole season!

  2. Mcasey to Hurn
Rookie downgrade if any are worth it
(McHenry, Budarick, Pickett, S. Hill, Taylor, Serong)

        1. I don’t think they’ll make him too cheap or else everyone will have him. Based on his 2020 average (102), he would be around 550k. A 10% discount puts him around 500k, which is still low enough to bring him in for what he’s capable of (without his injury game, he was averaging 126).

  3. At this early stage, thinking about:

    DSmith-Coniglio
    Williamson-Short
    Taylor-Close

Subject to final price fluctuations and team announcements mind you.

    1. Merrett and Hurn won’t be regular (if ever) captaincy options. Neale’s worth the extra coin for potential to regularly give you double points

  4. I’m looking at just one downgrade this week and keep trades for r10 byes…only got 17 on field atm. Hope Close goes well, cheap and dpp but not keen on his js. At worst, a means to generate cash r9.

  5. I’m def keeping Dev Smith…….never seen such a pile off……of course he will go bang !!!
Dan who ??? Whouston !! LOL

    1. Yep. During the next 4 rounds, I expect most AFL teams will heavily rotate their mids to share the load with such short recovery between games.

I expect Devon to play every game and get more mid time. But gone after Rd 10 if he doesn’t lift in the next 2 rounds.

      1. From what I have seen he gets a lot of midfield minutes currently. Just doesn’t do anything while he is in there.

        1. Looking at his possession map, he got his touches in the fwd pocket and a couple wide on the wing. Not a single disposal in the middle.

          1. Tackle count is also an issue for him, way down on usual. Watching him on the weekend, just looked like he was never in the right spot, think he’s a HOLD just based on the bye scenario. At worst, he’s F6 or bench coverage.

    1. Its max 3 trades for each bye round, and an extra four trades over the rest of the season. Your SC team will show the total adjusted trades you have left.

  6. Hey lads,

In a bit of an awkward position. 300k sitting in the bank.

My current rookies are Simpson rankine Pickett and hill. Given the super low scores this week for some premos I don’t have (Cripps Simpkin boak etc). I’m not really looking to upgrade this week in the abs ends of any value in fallen premos. And good downgrade options for this week? (I’m playing in a cash league and am undefeated so looking to peak in finals)

    1. McPherson looked slick on Sunday – immediately benefited from Doedee’s absence. It’s possible that Doedee misses a week so he could be an ideal target for Hill. Worth considering his price after this round also.

      3

      0
      1. Yeah. Absolutely bang on there, Fos. McPherson really got going with Doedee off and has all but locked up a spot. No problems with going Doedee/Hill to him.

  7. anybody else’s 3rd trade not working? or have i missed something

first 2 trades i’ve gone M King to N Cahill and McInerny to Close, but now can’t trade D Smith (or anybody)

    1. Think the Brander/Taylor/King trade out will be a popular one this week GD! Solid trades with Ryder as a smokey

      2
      1. Cheers, Fos.

Would have liked to keep one of King/Taylor, but need the cash.

        Hope it pans out.

  8. Doedee > McPherson
    McInerney > Close
    King > Petracca

These are my planned trades but Supercoach app only letting me do 2 even though it tells me I have 3 trades available. Hmmmm…

    4

    1
    1. Yep, really like the B. Smith pick but maybe not Viney. He’ll always play third fiddle to Satan Oliver and Petracca, with the occasional belter.

With extra 115k, you can pretty much afford anyone you want. If you’re still set on a budget option, McCluggage, Lyons, Parker, Zerrett, T. Kelly, Gaff or Boak are better picks than Viney imo.

Chillo’s Fallen Premiums and Jack’s Rare Gems will also help guide you, give them a read when they come out.

      Best of luck.

  9. Probably going to change this a few dozen times in the next 36 hours or so, but right now:
    McInerney -> Close
    Rivers -> ETaylor
    King -> Parker

I am very tempted to trade Devon Smith instead of Rivers, but the lack of a Bombers bye may just save Dev.

      How about:

      Hill -> McPherson/Watson/Ling
      T. Brown -> Close
      Schultz -> FWD premo

  11. Guys, I think D Smith is really bleeding my team of points in the cash league Im in, therefore, would appreciate your thoughts on the below:

T/U: McInerney to Close – Noble to McPherson – &- D Smith to Greenwood
    T:D: McInerney to Close – Noble to Ling – & – D Smith to Petracca/Oliver(via DPP)

I do realise that Smith has the non-bye, but so do Petracca and / Oliver.

    Thanks everyone!

  12. Depending on doedee’s injury, I’m thinking:

    Out – doedee, budarick
    In – Ridley, close

Taken me 8 weeks, but am finally buying into the Ridley hype

  13. With injuries, non playing rookies and covid babies, been struggling recent weeks to get decent side on the park. Scraping 22 together each week I wasnt able to do a double downgrade to build a bank, my balance always around the $20-50k mark.

TU you need to sacrifice a week and build the bank
TD keep trying to put your best 22 on the park

Only in a comp with mates, no chance of overall.
    Cheers

  14. I know he’s cheap and has DPP but is Close a trap? He plays the mighty Eagles this week, followed by the bye. There’s a pretty strong chance he won’t be in the team in Round 11.

    6

    5
    1. Dahlhaus is a while away & I think Miers will be dropped before Close, I wouldn’t play him on field this week though.

    1. Hard to choose Close looked good but geelong have players to return from injury so does he hold he’s spot.

Georgiades didn’t deserve his score but has JS you would think with Marshall out with a broken finger/thumb.

      Based on that Georgiades IMO

  16. I have the money to go Ceglar and Nic Nat to Neale and Gawn, but this will only leave me $4k in the bank..playing purely for leagues, not ranking..I’m currently 10th..
Tu do it do it now
Td maybe get one and downgrade to Close and get the other one next week

            1. Still managed a respectable 114! Has had two sub 100 scores in 8 rounds, was probably tagging someone in those games. Now, he seems to be critical to the Saints midfielder brigade.

  17. Hey guys is Ben Mckay worth a look in 180k defender with scores of 70 & 86?

Thinking Hill to him to allow the Doedee to Lloyd.

    7

    2
    1. Obviously only if Doedee is missing a weeks.

Another thought what do we think of

Hill to McKay & B Williams to McPherson (ADE)?

      1. Hynsi

Lloyd is a jet but he has a Bye coming up in R11, and is very expensive atm.

I would look at maybe C Daniel, or wait a week on..

        T Stewart $450 600 BE 162.

    T/U: Yes
    T/D: No

  19. I need advice
    230,800$ in the bank

DEF: Sic, Daniel, Ridley, Maynard, Doc, Doedee (Bj Williams, Gould)

MID: Neale, Danger, Titch, Walters, Cripps, Pickett, Simpson, Bennell (McInerney, Rivers, Robertson)

FWD: Petracca, Simpkin, Smith, King, Rankine, Budarick (Minchington, Cavarra)

    I’m thinking either:

TU – Doedee > Lloyd, McInerney > Close, King > Any decent fwd max 478,700$
TD – Doedee > Haynes, McInerney > Close, King > Whitfield

    or any other options?

    0

    11
    1. i’ve revised, im gonna wait on the upgrade for d6 since Lloyd, Mills and Haynes BE’s are relatively high so they can drop price

TU: Doedee > Macrae (via Rivers DPP)
      or
TD: Doedee > Clarry (via Rivers DPP)

other trades most likely be Rivers > McPherson, McInerney > Close

      2

      4
  20. Have honestly no idea what to do yet as teams will be sporadically announced…

    Thinking:
    C Taylor —> Close
    McInerney —> Ling
    S Hill —> J Lloyd

    5

    1
  21. As good as Vandermeer has been for me, he’s got a really difficult draw the next 3 weeks and a very high BE so he’s gotta go.
    T/U: L Vandermeer > B McKay
    E Yeo > C Oliver
    T Green > B Smith
    Leaves nothing in the bank

    T/D: L Vandermeer > A McPherson
    E Yeo > C Oliver
    J McInerney/T Green > M Georgiades
    Leaves 100k in the bank

Georgiades will rise a lot more in price over the next round than Smith is. But is it worth the 50 or more points sacrificed to gain an extra 20-40k?

    9

    2
  22. Does anyone think Rampe is an option. Has a really high ceiling but am concerned with his scores of 32 72 44 between rounds 3-5 but otherwise has gone 90-140. Could be great value if he gets rid of those terrible scores. Any swans fans or anyone that watches them have any insight for those terrible scores? Was he playing a lockdown role or injury niggles?

    0

    4
    1. Great score considering he’s playing with a fractured hand, chance to miss a game before their R11 bye? Await medico’s report

      4

      0
  23. Ok, so the next three weeks for me are important, and it’ll be the make or break for me for have any redemption on this season. Currently sitting at about 67000 ranking, so I need to do something.

    Current team
DEF – Docherty, Laird, Doedee, Hurn, Starcevich, Williamson (Brander, Ling)
MID – Treloar, Macrae, J. Kelly, Bontempelli, Whitfield, Cripps, Budarick, Simpson (Pickett, Green, Brown)
    RUC – Grundy, Goldstein (Conroy)
FWD – Simpkin, Martin, D. Smith, King, Taylor, Rankine (Aarts, Cameron)

    $138k remaining

So the two main issues I have is
1 – Not having any cover for my defence
2 – Not having enough top tier forwards.

So my trading options are a bit confusing. I tried figuring out ways to get Ridley in my side, without getting rid of Doedee. The cap unfortunately always kept falling short. If Doedee is only going to be out for one game I’ll keep him, because he’s been doing very well for me in recent weeks. If he’s out for multiple, then that’s the only reason I’d get rid of him. Because with my team failing as much as they are already, I need someone to get points.
So here are my options for now:

TU – Brander, Green and King (OUT) > Ling, Close and Petracca (IN)
    $113k remaining

TD – D. Smith, Green, King (OUT) > B. Smith, Close, Ryder (IN)
    $41.5k remaining

Doedee trade out (if needed) below….

    7

    4
    1. TU – Doedee, Brander, King (OUT) > Ridley, Ling, B. Smith (IN)
      $14.2k remaining

TD > Doedee, Brander, Green (OUT) > Sicily, Ling, Close (IN)
      $263k remaining

      9

      2
  24. Righto, what do we think?

C.Taylor > McPherson/McKay (depends on significance of Doedee injury as to whether I go McPherson)
    McIncerney > Close
    D.Smith > Petracca

I don’t want to get rid of Smith as I’m a biased Essendon supporter and I want him to start getting busy again, but bringing in Petracca with Melbourne’s relatively easy games coming up, seems the smarter way to go.

    11

    1. Joel

Gaff about to have the R10 Bye.

Around this price, I think both Parker and Cogs are good value but both will have their Bye R 11

      Z Merrett $524 600 ave 107.8 B/E 83.
He has had his Bye and wont stay this cheap for long.

Mitch Duncan $531 400 B/E 157 will be cheaper next week but if you can’t afford to wait he is still well priced.

      Best of luck.

  25. Gday lads hope we are well,

Like many of you I am a very disgruntled Dev Smith owner.

Just keen to hear some of your thoughts and arguments as to why we should keep/trade him, tossing up atm – if I upgrade would be to Bazlenka.

  26. Going to risk it and keep D.Smith and see if he can bring back his A game so these are the trade i’m planning to do.

    TU: F.Mcasey , B.Bewley , T Brown > M.Ling , D.Martin , B.Close Bank: $126,700

    TD: F.Mcasey , M.King, T Brown > M.Ling , J.Martin , B.Close $35,700

    Thanks!

  27. West Coast has appealed to the AFL to get rid of Yeo’s suspension do you know when the results will be out from that trial??

    2

    1
  28. Hey Coaches!

    Rozzee > Whitfield
    D Smith > Gaff
    J Mcinerney > B Close

I know it seems radical and I planned on holding Rozee but something’s up, he’s not producing at all. Devon Smith is seemingly not playing a SC friendly role and I feel this week to get Gaff and Whitfield for less than 1m is as a good of a deal I’ll get.

    11

  29. Flying at the moment but got both yeo and walters. Both will be two week outs possibly, and even if named…Sunny plays last this week.
What a dilemma….guessing these kinda things will become more common, but wasn’t planning on having to waste two trades like this.
At least I dont have to worry about D Smith…he stays now.
    So,

  30. Hey SCT.

It seems like the right time to bring in Hurn, but I have a few options to do it. Will aim to double-down to free up some money for Viney/Petracca next round.

Not sure if Rich will get much game time or play each game with a niggle on the weekend. Hill has a history so same logic.

    TU: S. Hill > Hurn, M. King > ROOK, T. Berry > ROOK
    TD: D. Rich > Hurn, T. Berry > ROOK, S. Hill > ROOK

Or comments on any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  31. Hi all,
Seems like I’m on here every week asking help, but would love some tips.

DEF: Haynes, Daniels, Doc, Sicily, Ridley, Eggmolesse-smith (Williamson, McPherson)
MID: Neale, Oliver, Bont, Cripps, A.Brayshaw (Freo), Bailey Smith , Pickett, S.Simpson (Budarick, Rivers, Robertson)
    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Cameron)
    FWD: Whitfield, D.Martin, D.Smith, C.Taylor, S.Hill (Freo),Rankine (Mahony, Aarts)

    1. Hey, JJ.

Very sold MID and DEF lines, so you can honestly afford the luxury of getting rid of D. Smith. You could go:

      Williamson -> McPherson
      Hill -> Close
      D. Smith -> Petracca

      5

      0
      1. Hey GD,

The last 2 trades who have mentioned sound good, although if i was to trade Williamson i wouldn’t be able to get McPherson as I already have him on my bench, what other DEF downgrade would you recommend.

        Cheers

        0
    2. Gday JJ, how about this:

      Williamson -> Close via Rivers DPP;
      Hill -> Simpkin via Brashaw DPP;
Taylor -> BJ Williams via Cameron DPP

Cashes in 3 that are ready to go, picks up a cheap cash cow with DPP, picks up Simpkin later than many but still at a lull in price & still leaves you about the same cash for next week.

BJ Williams not yet played but will at some point and can be switched via DPP to Def as a later option & doubles as a loophole. Pulls Cameron into a better line for fielding & trading.

      0

      1
      1. I’d wait a week or 2 on Simpkin. 201 BE this week. Will drop a lot more in price over the next 2 weeks

        0

        0
      2. Might wait a week on Taylor, Has a BE of 47 which he should definitely get since he’s playing against the crows. Thanks for the advice, will hopefully try and get Simpkin next week.

        Cheers

  32. Hey all, need a little bit of advice! I’m currently ranked around 2k, but I’m also playing for leagues.

I need 4 more upgrades + Dev Smith from my last 17 trades, however I currently don’t have Neale, Lloyd, Sicily or Haynes! Should I be aiming to bring them in, or try stay ahead in upgrades to make up for the lost points? Currently, I’m torn between trading Dev Smith and 2 rookies for:

TU – Zerrett, Saad and Close
TD – Neale, Close and Ling (150k leftover)

The idea behind Saad and Zerrett is that with their additional game in hand, it’ll make up some of the lost points of Lloyd/Haynes/Sicily and Neale for the run home (I’ll only have 1 spot in each respective line for Duncan and Stewart).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I’m not sure if I’ve got the correct thinking!

    3

    3
    1. This is probably your last chance to get Sicily or Lloyd, although Neale is indeed a must have. Hmm.

I think what should dictate your trades, Dunks, is which line has the poorest rookies. If you’re stuck with Starcevich, Wiliamsom, etc @ D5/6, then grab Sicily or Lloyd. If your MID rookies are hurting you and you’re solid down back, grab Neale.

  34. Have both Yeo and Walters. Reckon I hold one given my team structure. So if I hold Sunny, I can loop Aarts/Mahony or trade one to Georgiades and still loop. Or its hold Yeo, trade one of Mahony (dpp) Simpson, Bennell to Close for cash, and have three loop options. Other trade will be Williamson/Mckay.

    T/U Trade Yeo
    T/D Trade Walters

  35. Is Yeo a must trade out??
If I trade him out is Viney a good option or is there better options.

  39. Have BZT sitting on my bench using up 189k of my salary cap
Anyone think he’ll get a game anytime soon, especially with the crammed fixtures and essendon not having any byes
Otherwise may be useful to dowgrade him and keep my playing rookie defenders as injuries are killing me down back

    1. Essendon fan, can’t see him coming back in unless there’s an injury to Francis. Hooker is 2 weeks away-ish so no job security if he did come in. Trade to mcpherson/ling etc.

  40. There is a case for holding Dev Smith thru the rd10&11 byes… but so tempting to upgrade him!

TU T. Kelly and only 11k in the bank
TD Bailey Smith and 128k in bank

    2

  43. Thinking….

    D7 Rivers to D7 McPherson
    (coverage for the byes)
    R2 Pittonet to R2 Ryder
(Ryder will go to F6 next week when Goldy comes in for R2, Ryder used in future for swing between R2&F6 for injuries/byes)
    F6 Budarick to F6 Georgiades.
(I’m not sold on Coles security, thou love his cheap price)

    1. Evening, Shorza. With that large a bank you can pull off a triple upgrade this week.

      I’d recommend:

      Hill -> Hurn/Stewart
      Sturt -> Whitfield
      Bennell -> Parker/Duncan/Merrett/any MID under 564k

That will give you a rookie-less backline, one less MID rookie and get rid of a dead rookie up FWD. Looking good.

      Best of luck.

        1. No problem, Shorza.

No word on Hill. Plays on Sunday and with the day-before release of teamsheets now you’re probably better off trading him and having a stress free weekend lol.

  47. If I had to pick one last defender to complete my defense who should I get? (I’ll likely trade them in about 3-4 weeks time)
Currently have Lloyd, Sicily, Crisp, Docherty, Short (who I might trade towards the end of the season).
Ridley, Haynes, Hurn, Stewart, Saad? Any other suggestions ?

    1

    0
    1. Ridley/Haynes, I personally think wait on Hurn as I’m not convinced (although many others will think otherwise). Wait for Stewart’s price to drop. Saad is a nice D6 who won’t have a bye.

      1) Haynes
      2) Ridley
      3) Saad

  48. Who to pick up thus week:
    T/U – B Close plus 70k and lower JS
    T/D – M Georgiades better JS

Thinking Georgiades due to Marshall and Motlop being out for an extended period of time from ports FWD

  49. Hey lads, looking to downgrade King this week and bring in Neale. Would Georgiades be the best forward option, or one of the cheaper boys? Just like Sam i’ve got the question of Job Security?

  50. Doedee, Dev Smith, cripps
    To Lloyd, Close, Oliver
6 rookies still on field (2 in each position)
Worth trading Cripps as he’s bleeding cash every week?
    Tu: Do it
    Td: nah hold crippa
Also guys can you comment how many rookies you still have onfield. Just curious

  51. Probably not the place to post it, but I fear hawks might throw sicily fwd this week. He finished there last game and hawks are awful fwd.

    1

    3
    1. They just needed some marking presence for a chance at a late goal, Wighty.

Sicily played WAAAAY too well down back to be swung permanently forward. With O’Brien, Ceglar, Breust and Impey all to potential replenish the Hawks FWD stocks, I’d say he’s safe down back.

      6

      1. Speaking of, do you reckon I’ve missed the boat on him for this season price-wise? I was thinking of spending that extra money on him this week before his price rises again, but at the same time I don’t want to blow my bank on him given he can spit out the odd poor score and I could get jake lloyd for same $$. Sic did look very dangerous on the weekend with disposal efficiency though!

        0

        0
        1. Wait for another price dip. He has his bye coming up next week so it’s mad to spend up on him now, and his scores fluctuate so you will get him cheaper if you can hold on.

          1

              1. Hurn the pick of the bunch this week, then Stewart will bottom out the following round and a returning Zwilliams to do the same.

                2

                0
          2. Sound advice but he would need two poor scores in a row for his price to drop substantially. I’d get him after his bye.

        2. Hey, FOS.

          Sorry for the delayed response.

Yeah, Sicily and Lloyd are basically must haves down back and this is probably the last week before you’ll be paying too much – wouldn’t pay more than 600k for anyone this year.

  52. Hi all,
Would love some trade advice, looking at bringing duncan/zerrett in (Bank – $108.3K)
DEF – Haynes, Ridley, Docherty, Laird, Doedee, Noble (Starcevich & Brander)
MID – Neale, Macrae, Coniglio, Whitfield, Simpkin, Cripps, Pickett, Simpson (Budarick, Bennell, Rivers)
    RUCK – Gawn, Grundy
FWD – Petracca, Dusty, Baz Smith, Dev Smith, Taylor, Rankine (Cameron, Georgiades)

    Cheers!

  53. I’ve been thinking about jumping on Gaff or Zerrett this week but my defense has been giving me restless nights for a few weeks with a shaky D6 (was Starc, now Noble) and no bench coverage (Brander & BJ Williams). I have enough coverage that I should be able to field 18 in the byes without worrying about trades either.

Thinking this is the move for me and would leave my D1 to D6 as (Lloyd, Sicily, Haynes, Doc, Ridley, Laird)

    Out: Dev Smith, Noble, Brander
In: Jake Lloyd, McKay, and B. Close.

Leaving $40k in the bank. Could also do McPherson instead of McKay. Ling & Watson options too depending on lineups.

T/U McKay $40k in the bank
T/D Mcpherson $20k in the bank

    3

    1. Yep, Emile.

I’m finishing my DEF line first. Rookies are just so volatile both in terms of JS and scoring.

  56. These playing times with B Smith playing tonight, and Walters not till Sunday is a real pain. If Walters is out, its an easy decision but it might be days before we know, and too late to trade him.
Any goss on how Walters is looking…some talk it was just a cramp ?

    2

    0
    1. You wouldn’t trade him unless you have to. But even if is named on Saturday, there would still be a chance he could be a late out in the last match of the round.

So, plan B, keep 1 trade up your sleeve. If Walters is a late out and you don’t have a half decent E score already on your bench, then you could trade Walters to Brayshaw

      2

      0
      1. But I reckon good chance he will be out. You don’t “sweat on Scans” for a cramp. So, plan A, trade or hope for a decent E score on the bench

        0

        0
        1. My gut feel is to trade him even if named because he has the bye next round. Question is whether to Petracca who has had the bye, or B Smith and bank some coin.

          0

          0
          1. Petracca has the higher ceiling but Smith’s value is very hard to ignore and should score well against the tigers. I’m a tigers fan but opposition mids generally score well against us. Then an extra $140k for another upgrade next week

            1

            0
  57. At this stage after getting Danger and Cognilio via 2 rookies last week, gone McKay, Mcrae and Close in for Gould, McInerney and W.Kelly. question is
TU stick with what I’ve done or
TD-ignore BE’s try and get Mcrae and another gun via more expensive “rookies” ie Pickett, Serong, Bennell etc

    4

  58. Is Tom Green worth keeping in case he plays as a bench option or is his BE of 48 to dangerous.

T/U – Keep him he will be useful.

T/D – The down grade for cash is too important.

    1

    14
  59. TU – Dev Smith, Brander, McInerney out for Close, Watson/Ling, Viney and bank 110k

TD – Brander, Budarick, McInerney out for Close, 102k non player, Viney

    1. This is what I’ve been trying to figure out too.
McKay starts on field but the Roos injury list is long and two fairly key defenders for them are nearly fit to play so I dont know if he holds his spot. Can any Roos supporters shed some more light?
McPherson starts on the bench but there aren’t any big players coming back who might take his spot. Its whether they wanna give some more of their rookies a chance to play and McPherson might make way for them.
I’d say McPherson’s JS is probably slightly better.

    1. Although he wasn’t bad, i’d be waiting on the teams to see if watson even holds his spot. Freo have no backline left and he was a late in, any returning players would mean he could be straight back out.

  77. Good trades or not –

Out – Simpkin, Smith and Taylor

In – Cameron, Hurn & Macrae

Yes I know Hurn has an upcoming bye but when you have been fielding Starcevich each week …. need I say more.

I am happy to have a second look at Close and pay $150K after 2 games.

    1

    4
    1. I’ve brought in Hurn this week. I traded out Williamson though, who also has the bye next week…so I figured it half cancels the other out. Not overly concerned. Every team will be having a bye.

With best 18 rules applying, it changes the dynamics.

  81. My biggest problem is Walters. Will he play or not ?? With teams not coming out till the day before, we may not know till Saturday. With a bye r10 if he’s not selected, he goes in normal circumstances. My original plan was to go to Petracca but I come up $7k short with downgrades I want to do, so I’m thinking D Smith instead, bank some cash, but have to do that tonight. Other option is hold till Saturday, and even then, he could be a late out Sunday in which case I have Mahony or Arts as cover….no B Smith there !!
I need some help…I can’t ring my psychiatrist again today !!!

    2
    1. Walters has been ruled out on the Freo website.

  83. Hello Coaches,

I’m torn between trying to get Ridley in or focussing on bench cover. $106k in the bank, any assistance would be appreciated.

Lloyd, Daniel, Doc, Doedee, Mckay, McPherson – Hill, Butler

Neale, Mcrae, Oliver, Mitchell, Cripps, Simpkin, Pickett, Bennell – Budarick, Mahoney, Rivers

  90. Was initially going to trade williamson out, but reckon the more warm bodies we have this year the better. He seems to have a job each week, albeit one that doesn’t promote scoring. So Rivers goes instead but to who ?? Was originally thinking Day, but he has the same R10 bye as Williamson.
McPherson looks to have good JS and has a low be. McKay a little cheaper but I dont think his JS is that good.

    1. I’ve gone Tommy.

Proven consistent scorer, Hurn has the bye next week and don’t trust him to not get rested during the cramming of games.

Can’t really go wrong either way, depends mainly on your cover in defence for the bye next week.

      0

  93. TU: Trade Dev Smith to Petracca
    TD: Trade Walters to Petracca

Walters out then a bye, while Dev Smith is bad for my heath.

Cover is not an issue in the forward line.

    2

    11
    1. Playing devils advocate here…I can see the sense in trading out Walters. I almost did.

The reason I’ve kept him is ONLY because of the additional trades we’ve been afforded. I’ve also got cover on my FWD LINE. I figured I’ll keep him for the two weeks (bye included), he won’t drop in price. I can use my trades this and next week to sort my other lines. If Walters is still out in R11, then he’s gone. I’m only missing one ‘live’ week of scores from him, this week.

Haha. After writing that, I’m actually thinking that I’m just convincing myself I’ve made the right move!!!!

      1

      0
      1. You’re missing out on two or more weeks worth of a premium score tho. I assume you’ll have a rookie as cover for him? Means you’ll lose a minimum of 100 points over the next 2 weeks if you dont trade him to another premium

        1

        1
        1. @Hazza….no need to rub salt into the wound! Haha.

My logic (however misguided it may be) is that he’s got the bye anyway. Yes I’ve got cover. So no donut.

I figured I’ll hold Walters to avoid a sideways. I used 2 trades this week to sure up my backline.

If Walters is still out in R11, then he’s out. I’ve missed 1 one week of his score, I don’t count the bye because he would’ve been non scoring anyway.

To further reinforce (to myself) that the decision makes sense, is that Walters will finish top 10 FWD by seasons end.

          1

I agree with the only ‘one week of live scores’ missed, given no other forward options have had their bye already (and I wouldn’t be double-upgrading this week).

I think my hatred for Dev Smith might overrule any logic!

          1. @sammys….logic??? It’s season Covid. What logic?

I’m really enjoying the Game of a Thrones trade in trade outs. Survival of the fittest.

At the end of the day, it’s a game. Enjoy it!!! (Shite, I should’ve traded Walters).

          1. @Gunboat, that’s a pretty broad assessment. The extra trades have afforded me to upgrade my backline and bench cover.

For the person posting C picks each week, I would’ve thought a little more scope would be warranted.

            1. Are you unfamiliar with the nuance that the phrase “if anything” carries, Grasshopper?

I was responding to Sammy’s dilemma of off-loading one of Walters or Smith. Walters will be back in a fortnight and be Top 6, whereas Dev Smith is being outscored by FWD rookies – don’t think I was being too sweeping to suggest extra trades might make sideways trading more palatable.

              1. GD, apologies. I wasn’t trying to have a dig.

‘Tongue in cheek’ is hard to read on here and that’s what I was affording.

                Semantics indeed.

  94. Hey everyone!

Time to get Petracca in this week. Walters being out, makes the trade decision a little easier. Rivers doesn’t look like he’s getting a game anytime soon, so dumping him for McPherson who looks really settled in Adelaide’s backline.
Dev Smith’s BE being high is worrying me, but I almost prefer him on field to Taylor at the moment…

TU: Walters, Rivers, Taylor > Petracca, Close, McPherson
TD: Walters, Rivers, Dev Smith > Petracca, Close, McPherson

    Keen for your thoughts!

  95. TU Merret – No bye but has De Boer coming up and less reliable
TD Parker – More reliable but Steele, De Boer and bye coming up
Comment wait a week for Duncan to bottom out

McKay a little cheaper and I dont think his JS is that good.

    T/U McPherson
    T/D McKAy

  97. T/U – Neale
    T/D – Petracca +$100k

My midfield rookies are more of a concern the FWDs, but I can play Tracca in the middle for now

  98. Hey all

TU D Smith +S Hill > Oliver and Mcpherson and 67k in the bank
TD D Smith + S Hill > Neale and Mckay – nothing left in the bank

  99. Just wondering about this community…

Have so far gone Brander – Close via DPP and Bewley – Baz Smith.

Well a few things have to fall my way first, but basically this move (and third trade) would finish my defense, I would get Aarts score (I’ll wait to hear if O’Connor is playing or not first just to be safe haha) by going Dev Smith – Stewart. I also am still holding the trade as I watch to see if Doedee gets up or not for this week.

Is it worth it the trade for the points gain this week? Or do I persist with Dev for one more week, wait for Stewart to drop more in cash due to his huge BE, and ultimately save the trade for injury/emergency reasons?

T/U – Like the idea, go for it
T/D – Hold the trade, keep Dev Smith and wait for Stewart to lose more in value to pick up for much cheaper next week

    1. If you’re just gonna trade Dev Smith next week for Stewart, I’d do the trade this round. But if the drop in Stewart’s price means you can move on a rookie next round, 100% do that instead

  100. Doing some trades:

1 (TU)) Starc, Taylor, Smith to Merrett, Parker (can also get Duncan or even Trac + Merrett together if i trade noble instead of starc), Close

    v

2 (TD) Starc, Taylor to Neale and Close.

Both trades end up with similar money in the bank.

    What does everyone think?
