Tradeable Goods?

Written by Schwarzwalder on March 28 2016

Before Trade Talk becomes inundated with the same questions, I thought we’d run a few official polls to gauge the interest in a few players that may/may not be traded.

If I could just re-iterrate the Golden Rule of Supercoach……….do not trade out your premiums!  Fyfe & Pendles were good choices before Rd1 and they’ll still be good picks after Rd1.  Value may be lost but they’re keepers for the season, not just for a week or two. Premiums, being premiums, will always hit back.

Plus your trades really need to be saved for the long-term injured ONLY at this stage (for those few who started with Dane Swan).  Whoever read our exclusive article from last years Supercoach Winner (The Night’s Watch) will know that he still had two trades left going into Rd23.  And that really made the difference in the end.  When most Coaches were running on empty after Fyfe, Parker, Buddy & Hodge went missing late in the year, The Night’s Watch was able to comfortably replace those big names.  So please keep that in mind before even thinking about any correctional trades this week.

And a quick one about chasing last week’s points……..Tex Walker averaged 83 last season, even after his 177 in Rd1.  Eddie Betts averaged 86 for the year, even after his 154 against North in Rd1.  Please try and stick to your plan! So let’s see what SCT think of the following proposed trades……….

  1. If I Had Andersen and had other rookies playing I’d use him to loophole them this week and hold onto Andersen to find out more about the injury/ find out more about the rookies you are going to trade in

For Sidebottom & crouch neither should be traded out unless it’s 4+ weeks suspension (also depends on what your season goals are)

The other 3 shouldn’t be touched

  2. Simple rule of thumb. One bad performance doesn’t change anything.

One bad performance and a 3 week suspension potentially does.

  3. if bartel gives me 80’s or less over the next two weeks and johannisen goes big with another 120 next week would it be worth burning a trade to downgrade bartel to johannisen?

  4. Started all three of Fyfe, Pendles and Greene this year. Pendles and POD was simply too good a prospect to pass up. Yet, he just didn’t look his godly self the other night. Was strange to see, hopefully he bounces back and you’d be mad to trade at this early stage.

The Greene vs Hall question on the other hand has been comprehensively answered and he has until next round to justify not being straight swapped.
