Captaincy Candidates – Round 12

Captaincy Candidates

Neale v Dons

L3 v Dons: 166, 109, 198

L3 @ G: 116, 124, 113

L3 MID v Dons: 103, 140, 90

Probably gets played tight by Caldwell but an equal chance the Dons just get obliterated in all areas. Like Cluggers and Dunks here too.

Brayshaw v Suns

L3 v Suns: 134, 77, 94

L3 @ PFS: 94, 109, 86

L3 MID v Suns: 131, 121, 99

A big ask for the recently neutralized Brayshaw but it should be a strong contest with plenty of scaling on offer.

Whitfield v Tigers

L3 v Tigers: 113, 98, 70

L3 @ ENS: 109, 148, 111

L3 HB v Tigers: 100, 97, 126

Whitfield played an odd role last week but will be rock solid at home against the Tigers – even if that role persists. For those who’ve grabbed Tom Green, we of course love him here.

Gawn v Saints

L3 v Saints: 180, 84, 82

L3 @ TIO: 95, 111, 50

L3 RUC v Saints: 127, 111, 104

RoMo got put on blast by Witts last week. This won’t be pretty.

Smith v Eagles

L3 v Eagles: 77, 126, 87

L3 @ OS: 126, 56, 91

L3 MID v Eagles: 138, 77, 108

The low energy Eagles should allow him to flounce about at reasonable DE.

Smoky Picks

Zorko v Dons

L3 v Dons: 108, 103, 116

L3 @ G: 99, 95, 70

L3 HB v Dons: 101, 144, 72

Got his tail up the last few weeks. Dons backline will be disorganized and subsequently pulverized.

Steer Clear

Daicos v Hawks

L3 v Hawks: 106, 102, 41

L3 @ MCG: 95, 86, 125

L3 MID v Hawks: 143, 152, 99

Hawks indicated they’re going to tag Daicos, which they love to do. Big pass.

Rankine v Swans

L3 v Swans: 96, 105, 94

L3 @ SCG: 94, 102

L3 MID v Swans: 125, 119, 76

Very left field call thinking with a profile and economy to Kozzie, Rankine could fix up the Swans with Jordon distracted.

Verdict

For those with Gawn, it’s whether you want someone into or after him. Either way he has to feature. I’m trying to split Whitfield and Smith at the moment.
