Small or Far Away, Father Dougal on Cows
Hi Everybody!
I think “Cash on Delivery” fits pretty well.
Nah little mate, I get the cash angle, but what delivery? “Stinking up the Great Outdoors” is a much better fit.
Ok, stinking for sure, but is Marvel really the great outdoors? It has a roof, right?
Yes Marvel has a roof…?
So that’s not really the great outdoors!
Ok, how about “Just Begin Again”?
Ohh, best so far, I mean the whole delete team and start over angle. But, how about “Clam Caravan?”
Clam Caravan? That’s pretty random, not at all related!
Right, that’s my point!
A bit harsh, though, a bit….
What are you two talking about?
“Gimme some Money!”
Huh, for what?
Everyone needs money.
For what?
Upgrades, duh! And pumpkin seeds.
I think you were right the first time. “Hell Hole”
What are you talking about!
We’re trying to figure out which Spinal Tap song is most applicable to your Tech League team.
…Ok, I did not see that coming.
You never do, you know.
“Hell Hole” it is!
I know I am going to regret this, but why are you guys trying to decide what Spinal tap song is most like my Tech League team?
Well, you used to do stuff like comparing all the cows in the maths section to movies you liked, or songs, or something else fun.
Yeah, those were fun.
Ok, but, um, those were a lot of work. And not exactly helpful.
Oh, now all of a sudden you worry about being helpful?
Theme! Theme! Theme!
Theme! Theme! Theme!
Are you mad? I still have to do the actual, maybe hopefully helpful part, and then after that you want a thee? Which I have not planned and in no way ready for?
Me, mad? Your Imaginary Interlocutor? Mad?!
Oh oh, I have always wanted to say this! “Fools! I will show them all!”
Sigh, dumb question. And no response to that needed thank you.
Aww.
So, I’m gonna try and write the, um top part? And then we’ll see.
Sigh, Anyways, this is the time when we look at what bye all of our players have. For the first time it matters
Why?
Because this is the last round where a spike score has three rounds to affect a players price before the byes start. Rounds 9, 10, and 11. So, if someone like, say, Sam Powell-Pepper has a huge score, his owners will still get all the benefit from it before the bye.
Sam “Sergeant” Powell-Pepper?
No no, Sam “Floyd” Powell-Pepper!
I am not listening!
Anyways, for keepers, we worry about too many in the same round and all that, but for cows, we need to think about how long they have to grow before their bye. Very, very few cows are worth holding over their bye, so it is sort of a practical deadline for selling. Even players like Bice will probably be ready for trade out on their bye. Players with a late bye have more time to have a spike score and grow in value. If you have lots of players with the same bye, you may need to unload one before their bye.
As it happens, there are a lot of popular and good cows with byes Rounds 14-16 this year. That is a big help because that means lots of time for them to make their money. It would be nice if they are ready to harvest sooner, and if so great, but, someone like Prior who is hovering around his BE now, has through round 13 to spike, since his bye is round 16. Davidson has to spike this round, since he has the round 12 bye. So, if you are strapped for cash, holding Prior gives you more chance of getting money, as well as cover for Round 12.
The other part of cows in the byes is the best 18 means cows who provide steady mediocre scores like Kako are not as good as guys who alternate between 40 and 100. Far safer to risk a cow on fields when you are dropping the lowest 3-4 scores each week. Aside from R12 for most of us.
Theme! Theme! Theme! – Beatles songs!
Theme! Theme! Theme! – Muppets!
Argh! I. Am. Not. Ready!
Call it in the air!
Edge and chicken noises!
It actually landed on the edge!
That was luck! Luck luck luck luck luck luck! Oh bother….
Muppets it is!
Fine, but if this sucks, I blame you two.
Defenders
Z Reid: Looks like a darn good hold until closer to his bye. Has big scores and plenty of time to make money. He could always have a bad run and mess up his cash, and I am not saying not to harvest him, but despite his ups and downs he has really come through for us. Which makes him, Kermit the Frog. Yeah, plus it’s not easy being a Bomber.

Last week: In the words of ET, “Oooowwww….”
This week: Little known fact, Jim Henson once (or more than once) fixed the ET puppet when it had problems during filming. Makes him a Muppet as far as I am concerned. His 92 BE might make him a bit of a Muppet by other standards. If held he should make some money back when that 35 is out of his three round average.

Stone: Did not play. Didn’t see that coming
Curtain: Well, that 73 saved him from Moo-Ron Mountain. We know he can put up good scores. Barely on anyone’s radar really, like Marvin Suggs (And his amazing Muppaphones)

Dodgy Advice: Good news: Cheap Bulldogs! Good news: they have 10 of the last 15 matches at Marvel and Mars, where they do well. Bad news: R12 bye.
Prep for incoming fallen premiums in future weeks.
Do not buy Bont or Butters until their prices drops. They are floating premiums now, and paying up for them could cost too much. That said, they are sooo good. But really, wait for their prices to drop and at least after R12.
Remember the Cow Talk guarantee: “All predictions wrong or triple your money back!” (Offer not valid if money is actually involved.)
I am time zonally challenged. When Cow Talk goes live, I’m probably asleep, so replies from me may take a while.

Thanks, indeed!
So… Who are Waldorf and Statler in this analogy? Hmmm; two SCT elders watching the madness unfold from their balcony and letting the muppets know exactly what think each week… Anyone?
