Hawthorn Team preview 2026

Well there’s not a huge amount of relevance at the Hawks this season. A pretty quiet trading period and a few key injuries have left us with a Hawks side devoid of a heap of options. let’s take a deep dive and see if there’s anyone worth looking at. Spoiler alert this could be short one.

The Lock

There’s actually no one I would be comfortable locking into my 2026 SuperCoach side. 🙁

The Dark Horse

Dylan Moore ( Fwd ) $469.900

There hasn’t been much talk around Dylan Moore this preseason. Dylan can best be described as a fringe premium, that could burst into contention with more midfield time. In 2025 Dylan averaged 86.3 SC points and this included 2 x putrid scores in the 30’s. He also had a ceiling score of 162. Can Dylan get a few extra CBA’s and jump back up over that 90+ average ? He’s really in competition with the player below, I think one of these guys will be relevant in 2026 which one is anyones guess.

The Break out

Connor McDonald (Fwd) $381.100

Elite numbers as a junior midfielder had many of the SC community frothing at the thought of Connor as a midfielder in 2026. Day went down injured and Mc Donald strolled into the midfield in Match sim and lit the place up. Then the questions started to be asked. From one day to the next he’s either getting more mid time, or he’s a Forward predominately, that may get some mid minutes. Many coaches have cooled on Connor lately. I’m still optimistic his role will improve and he could make an impact. One we will all monitor closely this pre season.

The Rookie

Not too many rookies on the horizon at the Hawks this season. let me know if you know anything different.

Like I said not a huge amount of relevance at the Hawks this season. Are you starting any ?
