  2. Gun’s Regulars has been recreated from last year, sent invites to the following:

    Chameleons, King Maximus, MagpieArmy, zacattack, bAps, BeardedBurbler, Bbqbarbs, PBuzz, Macca, Gra Pol, 50ShadesOfGray, Such is Fyfe, The Amazons, Dashing Donkeys and TrooRoo.

    Also running Gun’s Regulars #2 [246908]. Just another league for the usual suspects. If you’re consistently on match chats during the year and the weekly threads, jump on board.

      1. @Pam….It’s not an issue of non-inclusiveness. I’m just aiming to have a primarily somewhat local group of people in a league. It’s no different that starting a cash league with a $1000 buy in. If you can’t afford the $1000, then you can’t afford it.

  16. The invites have gone out for The Fantasy Fiends and Looney Mooney’s.

    Always challenging for the top hundred or so.

    Will give it a week or so for the regulars to accept and then I will put on the league codes for the community to join.

    As usual, in the interests of being competitive I have culled the lowest 2-3 teams from each league including the great All Saints (RIP).

    Fortunately, I have not had to cull myself (yet).

    This league is set up for all those that enjoy good hearted sledging of opponents, and self praise, using every tactic except those socially unacceptable. Political correctness however is banned. The idea is that we all lighten up, but also have the chance to say what we really think…don’t let your opponent get the better of you…..they are pathetic exponents of SC after all aren’t they !!

      Let’s see if this helps;

      If you are naturally left handed and used to hearing you’re not right,
      If you have come out of the closet and admitted you are a Collingwood supporter and don’t really mind what anyone else suggests,
      Or perhaps you are the type of person that thinks(?)….well, believes at least a little bit,……that umpires can sometimes be right, and not afraid to admit it,*

      ………then we want you!!! in SCT Sledgers…..

      Note: *still awaiting clarification from Wighty, but in the meantime check to see if you can find an Umpire’s support group,…..and if you find one, can you please let me know.

      1. Replied below….I still haven’t forgiven those white maggots (as they were back then) for costing us the 1983 and 2000 premierships, and another dozen or so before that !! But its their performance in the 1999 prelim that hurts most…Koutifides was clearly their love child, and in those days, brown paper bags were still in vogue. I hear one of the umpires retired to Miami shortly after !!

    I am typing this slowly so it’s easier to read.
    Would it be too much to ask if you could add @SCT to your team names to help us ensure we have the high standards required to be part of the Sledging Establishment.
    ……or for that matter, any other SCT leaguers that wish to acknowledge their partaking of such a high quality environment could do the same if they haven’t yet.

        1. Nice one !!! Not one bomber has ever tested positive to anything although many from other clubs have. Carlton wrote the book on cheating in the AFL…..remember the last days of Elliott, salary cap cheating, brown paper bags, and the penalties ?
          Gold standard !!

    ‘just noticed we’ve got Macca onboard.
    Did he get permission from the missus to associate with such a high array of outstanding sledgers????………
    …….and while i’m at it, when are you going to show fair dinkum support for your Bumbers (no spelling error) and change your team colours to match.
    Note: Acknowledgement to Blues 21 for their attempt(?) to rub salt into the wounds (NB Try the bullseye effect with a star and change your number to Koutas)……. BTW anyone know how to create an Italian flag format??????

        Click where it says AFL Home.
        Click the symbol near your team name.
        Click random to get yourself a starting design.
        Then play around with all the colours and keep looking at the designs.
        Click the jumper when finished and click save to keep it.
        You can always go back and change it whenever you like.
        (Jumpers clash maybe LOL)
        NB Beware the pranksters who change every week…….

  31. Can’t find where to ask this.
    Going in a Keeper League for the first time, and I’ve scored Pick 1 in the draft.
    Any ideas on how that should dictate strategy?
    Eg a current premo like Neale, or number 1 young gun like Rowell??

    1. Remember keeper leagues are long term owners of the same players except for the 2-5 or up to 50% of list you delist at the end of the season

      Captain option (neale, Gawn, Grundy) is still important but not all KPs have captain option on, premium players that have 5 yrs or more left get you score and stability, up and coming stars that have started hitting good numbers are number one targets (Rowell, Walsh) Players coming into that level of performance (Serong, Daicos) and players at the level before this (Rozee, H Young) and also important but get couple capt options before last couple groups. There are others like rookies, performance effected etc

      As you see to do a keeper league well and have success you break players down across 5 or 6 categories. I’ve seen coaches have better first years than me then after year three fall in a heap and not get back as they traded for league win yr one, others be top 4 every yr.

      You get one full team list draft, get it wrong and a hard few yrs at least you will have. For pick 1, either Gawn, Grundy, Neale or Rowell or Walsh

      1. Thanks heaps Dovaas – great summary.
        Ended up not having Pick 1 as I initially thought. Slipped to Pick 4, but pleased to get C Oliver first, and also happy to get Rowell, Walsh, Serong, Mills, Taranto, Worpel, Ridley, Ryan, N Anderson, Lukosious, Scrimshaw, Rozee, etc. so, pretty well set up with young guns.
        Weak in the Rucks (Nankervis & Flynn)- sad to just miss out on both Ladhams & Draper; and in the forwards (S Bolton, J Steph, Higgins, etc).
        Scored H Young who got left on the shelf, when the draft window opened after 48hrs, which I was pleased with.
        Hopefully do alright.

    Only requirement would be to play till end of season, would prefer NOT to have a dead team after 3 or 4 rounds in…..

    I have finished top 100 and top 1000 a few times, however last couple of years just didn’t go well…..this year I am determined to finish within top 1000…..and I hope coaches who join this league are also determined as me to finish as high as they possible can in overall rankings and make this a great competitive league…

  60. I’m looking for an owner to take over an orphan in a sc draft keeper league. You can keep as many or few players as you want. I don’t have the details of the team but it’s got some good pieces and isn’t complete trash.

    League code is 872210 though I don’t think you can take over an available team with just the code, so drop an email below in case if you are keen

    Obviously being a keeper league you’re in it for the long hail, not just this year. There is a messenger group but it’s not particularly active, more so for league stuff.

  62. I have removed several punters from League 196226 and am looking for replacements. This league is all about sledging your fellow competitors to your hearts content. Political correctness is banned !!! Be prepared to give as good as you get, but at the end of the day, remember its still light hearted fun.
    Punters were removed because they haven’t contributed to the spirit of this league, so if you join up, I suggest you start with a gentle, or not so gentle sledge !!

  63. Good afternoon all,

    I have run a couple of leagues for a few years now called The Fantasy Fiends and The Looney Mooneys. They have both consistently been in and around the 100 nearly every year.

    There is 2 spots left in The Fantasy Fiends (828737) and a single spot in The Looney Mooneys (947387).

    To be competitive in these leagues you will either need to be very very good or have a healthy opinion of yourself (like of Dan Andrews magnitude!).

    If you feel up to the challenge and reckon you won’t drag the league backwards then get in quick.

    Good luck everybody. I feel it is going to be an absolute cracking Supercoach season.
