    1. Have a look at a returning Hickey to solo ruck now Sydney’s two ruck experiment looks to be over. Averaged over 100 last year, including against the top rucks, started well this year even tonning up at HT against English. He’s mobile and Horse loves him.

  3. Playing for overall but also a cash league:
    T/u – Bring in Luke Parker this week and cop a ruck donut (English)
    T/d – Bring in Goldy to play in the ruck for English (fielding Judson Clarke to avoid a donut) but skip Parker in final team

  4. I have 10 trades left (including 2 boosts) and $177k in bank. I am 1 premo away from full premo but that includes preuss and English.
    Im also 1 game out of the finals in my league atm.
    Tossing up between following:
    T/U Hold preuss and english and upgrade Sam Hayes to Witts and downgrade McCartin to D’Ambrosia or Parnell, which means I cop a donut in the ruck and field a rookie in forward line (either Rosas or Juddy Clarke)

    T/D Use a boost and trade Preuss, Hayes and M Rioli to Witts, Luke Jackson and one of Parnell or D’Ambrosia. Then I dont cop any donuts and have a choice between McCartin, Rosas or Clarke to field as the one rookie till English is back

    1. IMO you still have quite a few trades whilst already being nearly at full premo.

      So given you need to win games to make your league finals, and the trades you mention improve your side, I voted “down thumbs”.

      Unless Sam Hayes is named for Port – and then you may want to consider bringing in Jackson?

  5. need some downgrade targets over the next couple of weeks- massimo looks good for next week, but are their any other potential targets on the horizon? should i jump on judson clarke this week? his DDP is great but what’s his JS like?

  7. Hey folks – a couple of queries from me for anyone that may have some inside knowledge / thoughts:

    What does everyone think of the job security of Parnell? Is he locked in for most of rest of season or covering for someone?

    Also, Mills has a BE of 116 – what does everyone think of his chances of exceeding that and if so, by how much? ie – do we think he beats it by enough that will see his value increase by more than say $7,000 … and if so, what would he need to score below for that?? 130? 135? 140?

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!

    I have all of Preuss ,English, Butters and
    Teakle injured.
    I have 2 options.
    Tu: use one trade Daicos> Jackson to avoid
    a donut in the ruck, play Judson Clarke and Rosas fwd if selected , keeping Butters on the mid bench.
    Td: use two trades Daicos> Jackson and
    Butters > Heeney. With one of Judson
    Clarke or Rosas on the ground.

      I have all of Preuss, English, Butters and
      Teakle injured.
      I have 2 options
      TU: Preuss and Butters to Nank and Bont (no donut) grab steele next week at 550k
      TD: Butters and Mccartin (Hold Preuss) to Mills and Bont (cop donut in ruck this week)
      Comment any other ideas please!

  12. I’m probably going with a decent risk in Butters to Taranto as he has been named into the squad this week.
    He hasn’t scored well in the previous games with his last being round 9, but that was Cameron’s last game as coach. So will he get a better role under McVeigh?

  14. Preuss replacement (but more to avoid a ruck donut with English & Teakle out)

    TU: Jackson
    TD: Goldy

    Both with DPP which is important – if I have the cash, and my team is basically done, should I go the more expensive player?

    Jackson’s a lot cheaper so the extra cash will be handy, and his scores should improve with Gawn out, but pretty sure Goldy will outscore him for the rest of the season, yes?

  16. Like a lot of others dealing with the English, Preuss, Butters and Teakle debacle.

    TU: Preuss to Goldy and Butters to Heeney
    TD: Jeffrey to Jackson and Butters to Heeney

    Goldstein should hopefully score decently and play out the season in R2.
    While Jackson would be R3/R7 cover for the rest of the season with Preuss R2 when he’s back.

    Bit worried about Bonts body been a bit banged up and spending time fwd where as Parker seems to be always be in the midfield.

    1. I’d say Parker, however Bont has the hawks and they’re all about the attacking play this year, so he could run free, especially in a midfield that is stacked.

  23. So my ruck looks like this…
    English, Preuss, Mayes.

    I think I can win this round without a ruck (not playing for overall points). Mayes doesn’t look to be returning, so I’ll downgrade him for the cash.

    My question is, can I trust English and Pruess as my rucks for the remainder of the year? Trades are running low, but I could bring in Blicaves as an R2 for Pruess.

    Thoughts?

    MID: Oliver, Neale, Laird, Parish, Miller, Macrae, Cripps, G.Clark (C.MacDonald, M.Rioli, Owens)
    RUC: English, Gawn (S.Hayes)
    FWD: Dunkley, Brodie, Parker, Cogs, Butters, Jeffery (Durdin, Hollands)
    $61,800 in the bank, 17 trades left, three trade boosts left

    I have already traded Gawn & Clark > Witts and Parnell, using a trade boost to trade out Jeffery but who for? Have $495,100 to spend.

    Hough on the excy side but appears to have the best JS of FWD/MID players under $210K. Already have Clarke.

    Have English on the bench which means i take the scores of McDonald and Martin…7 trades left & fairly well positioned on the ladder in most leagues

    TU: Drop English (BE next match 166 then 122 and pick up later) and Martin -> Parker and Heeney (BE v StK 47) leaving 5 trades

    TD: Sit on it and keep the trades

    Am preferring a donut in the ruck than bring in a ruck I don’t want ie Nank or Darcy.. id have to move Lloyd on to get it done anyway..

    My thoughts are just to trade CStephens > Parnell switch Whitfield to mids covering Parish and field Wehr and cope a donut

        Only way I can do it is trade Lloyd/ Curtis and bring in Parnell/ Darcy -Goldy or Nank

        I think I’ll still win my league match up and should make top 4 not going for overall..

        Was hoping to get Bont in fwd line soon and leave English in the ruck

      Trade Stephens & Lloyd
      Move Rioli > the Mids
      Move English > forwards
      Bring in a Ruck (your choice)
      Rookie Defender (maybe Archer) you have good depth here so doesn’t matter that much if he is playing. Maybe a non player and loophole Wehr and D’Ambrosio.

  34. Need a cheap m9/f7 for the year, can’t afford Hollands this week but who knows if/when he plays. Was hoping one would be named this week but what do you guys think.

    Currently have Oliver, Neale, Macrae, Laird, Miller, Wines, Cripps
    Considering other cheaper options like Brayshaw, Walsh, and Steele (in a few)

    7 trades left. To finish, planning one more trade for D.Cameron to Grundy (when fit), or two with Carrol to DPP rookie and D.Cameron to Gawn

    1. The talk from the club certainly seems to suggest another week for English on the sidelines. I can’t afford the luxury trade now but am putting him in the never again list. IMHO, trade only if you’ve got more than 6 remaining after the trade and your at full-premo.

    What to do?

  54. Also in two minds on whether to take McCombs 59 for butters, not disastrous. I’d Hold the week and reassess when we know more and could grab the Bont in this case he looks so good. thoughts?

    TD: take the 59 and pick up Bont next week

  55. Not sure what’s best to do. 5 trades left, team complete (although have Parish, English and Butters).
    Trade Butters to:
    TU: Blicavs (as a hopeful keeper, will go in ruck and English forward)
    TD: Darcy Cameron fwd dpp in forwards (I like him better but will most likely have to trade him out in 4 weeks and worried about more carnage).
    Can’t afford anyone else without doing a second trade which I don’t want to have to do.
