Movers & Shakers – Round 21

Written by The Salamander on August 5 2021

LEGEND: Player Name (Other Position) (Club, Price, Average, 3-Round-Average, 5-Round-Average)

DEFENDERS

Jack Crisp (COL, $552,500, 104, 128, 127)

‘Steak Knives’ has been having a good season in general, but his last five weeks have been particularly good, with just one sub-ton (85 in Round 18) and two 140+ scores coming in that time. Has also not missed a game since 2014, so if you’re low on trades and want someone durable, look no further.

Christian Salem (MEL, $444,700, 95, 63, 82)

Was averaging 100 until a few weeks ago, but has since had a few down games, exemplified by his score of just 40 on the weekend.

MIDFIELDERS

Clayton Oliver (MEL, $642,600, 124.5, 150, 131)

With just three sub-tons for the year (67 in Round 3, 94 in Round 12, and 87 in Round 16), Oliver isn’t the type of player who is ever likely to find himself on the other end of this column: he just doesn’t tend to have streaks of bad games. He does, however, sometimes have particularly good streaks, much like he has for the last month.

Darcy Parish (ESS, $598,800, 117, 98, 116)

Mr. Unobtanium until two weeks ago, a 49 in Round 19 has sent Parish’s price plummeting by almost $100K, and with a BE of 200 this week, he’s set to fall even further. Apart from a 138 against North Melbourne, he hasn’t had a particularly huge score in about a month, but surely still has to be on the shopping lists of of SuperCoaches everywhere at the moment – those who still have trades, anyway.

RUCKS

Rowan Marshall (FWD) (STK, $509,900, 97, 127, 110)

Missing Round 19 due to quarantine requirements would not have been ideal for his owners, but Marshall has been building some good form in his last few games, after a slow, injury-interrupted start to the year.

Scott Lycett (PTA, $467,400, 94, 81, 91)

Hasn’t been over 100 since Round 16, though he did manage an honourable 98 against Max Gawn the following week. The weeks that followed, however, were not so good, with scores of 87, 83, and 72. Faces ROB, De Koning, and English in the run home, so should score a bit better than he has in the last few weeks.

FORWARDS

Jordan De Goey (COL, $516,800, 82, 111, 114)

Started playing as a midfielder in the middle of the season, and started scoring like one. Should keep on playing as one, so still good value at this price.

Dayne Zorko (MID) (BRL, $525,000, 107, 82, 91)

A few down-ish weeks (74, 86, and 86) has seen the popular Lion’s price drop sharply. If you don’t have him but do have trades left, jump on board.

  1. After Sharp’s abysmal 27 last week led to a 2 point demise in my main league im using my last trade to teach him a lesson!

TU express my anger.. bring in C Guthrie

TD show my disdain.. jump on J Lyon

  2. I assume Parish’s recent drop in form is due to Shiel being back in the side? Bombers fans help me out.

Also De Goey’s recent form has me tearing my hair out. I started him this season, based on pre-season midfield time and everything we heard out of the Pies. Then after a couple of games he gets shunted forward, scores crap for most of the season, until finally being put back in the midfield like he should have started. Only 15 weeks too late!!
