When it comes to cash generation, rookies aren’t the only game in town: there are also cow-like objects, or mid-priced players who are likely to score sufficiently above what they’re priced at to make enough money to be worth your while, without necessarily scoring well enough to be a keeper.
We seem to have some good ones this year – who do you like best?

I’d add in Hind with his BE of 19 and priced at 330k. He has spent a few years at Essendon VFL and played at half back. Didn’t get that at St Kilda and was in the forward pocket so is a forward in SC.
Scores of 77 and 98 and that 77 had 25 disposals at 64% efficiency and then backed it up with 21 disposals at 86% DE against Port.
Now consider the loss of multiple Essendon players and only 100 trades in this week with a total of 2700 owners. Currently 20th in forwards totals.
Caldwell is a great swap to him, so do you feel he is worth the gamble?
I really like this pick Nato.
I think he will, with out a doubt be more consistent than Tex.
Congrats on starting him.
Thanks Freo! I must say I’m surprised he has had real no attention this week after being their 2nd top scoring for the round and then all these trades of Caldwell out.
Good suggestion, added!
Hayden Young $279.000 Def Ave 74.5 BE 15
After a promising 88 first up, last week he only had one kick out for a 61 🙁
If he doesn’t get back in the mix soon, he may be a bust. He stays at D5 for now.
I know Tex will probably win this vote but I’m steering clear.
I have bigger fish to fry.
Good thinking, added!
Any chance you own Bowes Sal ?
$451 300 is pretty steep for a Cow like object.
He looks like he could already be a Steer!
Oops, sorry… I copied a list of players sorted by BE from Footywire, and forgot to take out the $400K+ guy out. My bad!
Paddy Dow $202400 b/e 6 (43% ownership)
Probably wouldnt get a vote but could be included
Thumbs up for could be included. Thumbs down cos he’s ordinary.
been 2 tough games for carlton maybe some easier opposition will see midfield tog and scores increase for dow..
# glass half full
Yeah i thought he was good both games, def made impact and Carlton played their best footy.
Players up to or just over Dow’s price were considered for the rookie poll, and Dow didn’t make the cut. I set the cutoff just over that for this poll, hence no Dow here, either. But at 43% ownership, I think he might be worth a poll in his own right, so watch this space. 😉
Bowes at that price aint a cow like object
