POLL: James Sicily Decisions

Written by JimmyDee on June 14 2023

In a move that has both upset and angered around three quarters of the footy public as well as over a third of the SuperCoach owners club, Hawks skipper, James Sicily, has been rubbed out for three matches.

Over 54,000 coaches, myself included, have enjoyed his recent run of form where he has averaged 144 from the last four games he has played. That’s a rich vein of points scoring, so where do we go from here. Of the top ten trades already this week big Jim has been punted by around 5,00 coaches to various options, mostly premo selections. The largest percentage of these has been to Jack Sinclair and Tom Stewart for obvious reasons. Of the others coaches have gone for the value options of a Tarryn Thomas and even 700 at this stage downgrading to Ryan Maric to fill an upgrade this week and gain a slightly warm body next week.

Check out the polls below and let us all know where you stand in the grand scheme of things, and also make appropriate comments for clarification among all our readers.

Thanks for participating and the very best of SC luck for whatever way you choose to go in making this tough decision.

  1. Trading because 3 weeks is 4 counting the bye and let’s be honest, it’s Sicily – who has been reported twice this season and being the hard at the ball defender that he is, more chance than not that he will be suspended again. Not worth the risk to hold IMO.

  2. Agree with Lisa. He is now on my never again list…its quite a big club now !!!
Only exception would be if its SC Grand Final and you know he is playing.

      1. If you have coverage this week, you could use Maric (cheapest) to facilitate the trade and gain a warmish body next week.

      2. Apparently Sinn still playing this week. Poor scoring and bye to come but Hinkley said last week he wants to get AFL experience into him

  4. What was wrong with the tackle??If he was playing NRL it would have been a cracker of a tackle…all legal and no charge…going backward again AFL.

  5. Still undecided but probably trade. First have to work out the best overall plan for this week as I have Ashcroft on mid bench and no non playing DPPs to switch with him and don’t want to waste a warm body.

If I go with an Ashcroft trade (despite me keeping him for bye cover), it will probs be Ashcroft/Sic to Stewart/Sinc giving me 19 this week. That leaves Ziebell at D6 and either Sheez or Day to become the swinging loops, so possibly not needing to get him back in. Only 10 trades so unlikely.

Was going to use Ashcroft to get Clarry back next week – decisions, decisions !!

  6. I have no idea what to do. Currently holding Darcy and Oliver. Can you afford almost $2m on in premos on the bench? Only playing for leagues..

  8. Is Caleb Daniel worth a look as a replacement. He has been scoring really well recently. Is this likely to continue?
