LEGEND: Player Name (Other Position) (Club, Price, Average, Ownership)
DEFENDERS
Shannon Hurn (WCE, $475,900, 95, 1.8%)
The balding Eagle has flown right under the radar since returning from injury, despite posting scores of 84, 105, 92, 122, and 104 in that time. Averaging 106 for the season if you take out his injury-affected 6 from back in Round 4.
MIDFIELDERS
Ben Cunnington (NTH, $592,000, 108, 4.1%)
After a quiet start to the year, Cunnington hasn’t been under 110 since Round 8. He does have a history of putting together impressive streaks like this and then dropping off, but I wouldn’t criticize anyone for bringing him on the back of his recent form.
RUCKS
Scott Lycett (PTA, $476,900, 96, 1%)
Has matchups against Gawn (Round 17) and Grundy (Round 19) on the horizon, but Lycett was having a pretty good season before he got suspended earlier in the year, and has picked up right where he left off after coming back.
FORWARDS
Lance Franklin (SYD, $433,500, 87, 1.5%)
Buddy may be old and injury-prone, but he’s still very good, having scored 130, 90, 95, 47, and 130 from Round 10 to present. That 47 is a good reminder of the risk with key forwards (quite apart from the “old and injury-prone” thing), but if you’re looking for an inexpensive option up forward, there are far worse guys you could pick.
