SCTTL : Tech League

Time to introduce the Tech League to any newbies and remind the regulars to whip out their second team (with a second email address of course). To play, you will need a second email address not in your name eg wife, cousin brother, pet frog or even work email if allowed. This is necessary to form a second team and not compromise your classic team which is your assumed priority team.

For the uninitiated, the Tech League (SCTTL) is a themed team with the same supplied players for everyone who joins the open league. It has previously been sent via email to preserve the integrity of the initial team, but we are accepting nominations directly from the site due to time constraints this year. However, all coaches must still only use the team that I provide for round one. You can vary your bench, emergencies, loopholes and VC/C  as you see fit, but must not make trades until after round one. That keeps it fair for all, and keeps the challenge equal. After that, it is free for all in terms of trades and keepers, and the winner is crowned on overall points.

I have named a team adapted from a theme we have not used before and I think it will be a fun team with a combination of elite premos and risky mid pricers, and good rookies, despite being selected from only eight AFL teams. I say eight teams as the THEME this year is only players from teams with ONE BYE with the exception of special invite rookies pending selection for round one. Jagga is at the top of that list, but I am going to try and limit it to the one bye teams to give us the ultimate challenge. Rookies from these teams could be a selection of Josh Lindsay, Finn Macrae, Sam Grlj, Kalarny White, Lachie Dovaston, Bailey Laurie, Chayce Jones, Jacob Farrow, Tom Blamires, Hugh Bond, Todd Marshall, Devon Robertson, Lachlan McAndrew, Liam Reidy, CD-T,  Latrelle Pickett and others may emerge Thursday. If enough do not get named to create good cash generation, then special invites will be extended to the likes of Lachie Jaques and Jai Serong for instance, but the aim is to get a team where they all play.

To play, form your second team using the random team picker, and then once the team is published on the site, replace those from the picker with the exact team as published. As mentioned, you can change captain’s choice, emergencies etc but you cannot trade any players until round two. Sadly any team not containing the original players at the end of round one will be removed from the league.

Apparently, I cannot send league invites to last year’s coaches as it was a group, but I will follow this up with an email to every coach from last year inviting a response to rejoin the league to my

jimmydee at supercoachtalk dot com address. However given the late start it is open slather to join via the site. LEAGUE CODE:  914078

Any newbies wishing to try this unique form of the game should also email me with their details. ie Team Name in classic and SCT moniker for ID purposes, and I will reply with the terms and conditions and answer any questions you may have. If you think you are across it, then just join via the site and league code. Get on board!!

  1. I’m so excited to jump back in and start burning the trades.
To anyone considering it, it’s a different challenge to the main game that can often feel like an holiday from your classic team.
