Carlton

  • Out: Nick Graham (Om.)

Game notes: What more could we ask for on a Sunday afternoon than last place versus second-last in a mano-a-mano fight to determine who will win their first game and crawl out of the cellar and who remain in the dark.

Despite the absence of Sandilands and Mundy, Fremantle showed definite signs of improvement against the Roos last week and will relish the return to Domain Stadium. Fyfe is looking like his old self and will enjoy not having the Simon White tag today after being shut down by him in their last clash.

The Blues are looking far improved on last year but they are still short of the class and experience to challenge most sides. Despite the inclusion of their enforcer, Liam Jones, it’s hard seeing a way they can defeat a Fremantle who will be desperate to notch their first victory.

Thommo’s tip: Fremantle by 36 points.

  5. It was a tough decision to take Goldy’s VC score or roll the dice with Fyfe. Ended up playing it safe and banking the 125. Looking pretty even at this stage with Goldy just in front. Hopefully for all of the Barlow owners that stuck fat, he can pump out a 100+

    1. Another reason why you should always take the pts already scored. For some unknown bloody reason, I ignored it again. Sums up my decision making till now

  7. I reckon we should institute a new rule. Relegation.

AFL Coaches have to drop the bottom 4 sc scorers, and promote the 4 best from their reserves each week.

Would perhaps put a tiny bit of incentive for some of the players.

  9. Has any one seen Motts?
    Perhaps we should be concerned.
10 minutes after the game and no post about Carlton’s best win in a few years
I am fearful for his health.
    Check the hospitals and morgues!!!!

    1. Wow, what a result. So happy I did make the call to bank Goldy’s 125. As earlier posts have said,if the points are already there, just bank them.

  11. Wow, didn’t see that coming!
Fyfe is going to be cheap soon.
If I can pick him up cheap if might help balance my premium forward selection of wingard who is soon to be rookie priced.

    1. Sadly so did I … playing RooBloke in SCWriters league and just matched him when I really should have banked the points. I have a lead (maybe should say had a lead as big Maxy Gawn is going huge and Roo has him!!) and decided not to risk Fyfe going huge against Goldie’s 125 …. hmmm bad move … doesn’t help OA either … oh well, the joys of SC!!

Game Chat – Fremantle v Carlton

Written by Thommo on July 18 2015

Fremantle have struggled to find form for several weeks and were finally found out by the Hawks in Tassie last week. Ross is not happy, swinging the axe and dropping four players, so expect the Dockers to lift this week.

The energy that Carlton exuded following the sacking of Malthouse has shown some signs of waning and it is a big ask for them to defeat the Dockers at home. They will miss Bryce Gibbs who departs for the year with his torn pectoral muscle. Are they any chance of upsetting Fremantle?

Thommo’s tip: Fremantle by 35 points.
