What does Opening Round do for Supercoach?
8 teams playing an extra game before the byes and then having 2 byes a team loaded with the premo players from opening round teams will be the must have start
David….this is SC…….nothing could ever be that easy !!
Could SC simply ignore Opening Round and begin the season proper as normal in R1?
…in effect the OR then becomes a higher level practice match for SC purposes…
…last years rules would then essentially remain in place …
Some players would then play one less game than everyone else for the season as teams have byes during weeks 2-6.
How do you compensate for those weeks? Do they still go with best 22?
If they combine rounds 0 and 1, it might just be a risk on how much you back in for the double week to then lose on the early bye rounds as sideways premos in round 2 would be burning trades.
I’d wonder how pricing would go from all of this
Best 18 for R1 seems simplest option, just like in other bye rounds.
Just load up with pies and swans to start the year….neither has a bye till round 6.

My thoughts, Zero round best 18.
Then unlimited free trades for round 1.
Nobody is disadvantaged and everyone on the same footing.
Too damn sensible Gilly !!!!
Another thought for Zero rd is with 10 Teams having a bye we could have best 16 to count !!!
We have best 18 when only 6 teams with bye.
Lets just sit back and be in awe of SC stupidity in making it as complex as they can !!!
