I just can’t seem to nail a huge Captains score this year. Merrett was showing 83 then got scaled back to 77 . Has been a bit quiet this qtr with North tagging him now.
So close…..
North let down by a couple of senior players.
However the future looks bright.
Phillips finding his feet.
Wardlaw just never gives up in a contest.
Sheezel all class.
At least the rest of the league is on notice that North are no longer easy beats.
Unlucky today Shaggi, at the game today and watched a bunch of teenagers (and a senior citizen in Goldstein who still doesn’t get enough recognition for what he has done in the game and for his club), destroy us around clearance for 3 quarters.
Still some pain to come but I’m not worried about the Roos list at all. Wardlaw is an absolute beast and Roos will be back in contention in a few years.

Looked at my matches and decided to play safe and take Daicos VC instead of risking Merret.
I thought, even if he does go 140, it’s only 16pts extra
C’mon captain Merrett! I’m still gonna lose due to complete lack of bye planning, but would be nice to nail the C for once..
Reminder to myself to never trade in Stringer again. Been suckered in twice by a few centre bounces, ugh.
What’s frustrating is his role has been fantastic, CW. Read was right, he’s just a bum.

Last time I captained Merrett he was tagged by Shiels in a bye round in 2021 for 93. Looking like he better lift. Such a dud.

Ridley was crap to start the season. Has a concussion so he gets traded by me and then finally starts deciding to do something…….

Issue was Essendon were playing him out of position. He was good at the start. Laverde got injured and they made him accountable (crap scores)
Then after his concussion they moved him back to 3rd tall/HB and he’s back getting points .
He still plays accountable. Alternated between Zurhaar and Larkey today.
He’s just a good player.
