    • Im contemplating the same decision, but just whether i take Darcy or boost for Dempsey too.

If you just want to bring in one to generate cash then Darcy. However if you are primarily looking for a decent onfield option as well as cash gen then Dempsey as long as it doesnt screw with future trade plans.

I had dempsey in my starting team but faded last min for Cadman so im probably bringing him in. He could be 2024 version of Humphrey and would be only $6k more then when everyone picked him up last year

      • I am tempted to do both. Would need to trade out H Reid to get Dempsey in, so trying to decide it worth it and using my 2nd boost to do so)

TU: Use boost to do H Reid to Dempsey (he joins Cadman & Sexton – so one of these 3 will be onfield). Dempsey predicted $55K rise this week.
TD: Pass on Dempsey and keep H Reid – he still has money to make & I’ve already missed the 70K price increase of Dempsey last week

    • I’ve run some projections:

      Darcy – 60 AVG = $130k in 3 weeks, $160k in 5 weeks
      Dempsey – 70 AVG = $105k in 3 weeks, 130k in 5 weeks

A spike score, which both seem capable of, would definitely help. I’d rate Darcy over Dempsey if named based on the extra cash and cheaper price

  1. Had just posted this on Part 1 of Trade Talk Rd 4 so forgive me re-posting on this updated post

Building the bank balance (and assuming Sam Darcy is named)

TU: Trade out Fyfe for Darcy (Fyfe BE 45)
TD: Trade out Jordan for Darcy (Jordan bye next week, BE 44)

  2. Holding Dawson last week … mistake #99 this season. Have two options this week …

    T/U
    Out: Dawson & Fisher
    In: Flanders & Heeney

    T/D
    Out: Fisher, Jordan & Fyfe
    In: Heeney/Flanders, McKay & Darcy

    Cheers

  3. Hi coaches, looking for some advice.

Should the issue of using my third boost this week stop me from making three trades I’m bullish about?

TU calm down and preserve my boost
TD go ahead, good trades are good trades and there’s no time like the present

    Thanks all!

      • My strategy is different, huge gains are made in the bye rounds 12,13,14 & 15 if you have the trades + boosts to exploit those short on trades and no boosts.

        • I used to be of that persuasion but with boosts, the midpricer landscape and all the soft tissue injuries you get left for dead playing the long game – or atleast that’s what’s happened to me recently.

Used to kill it in GnR days, rocket up during byes. No longer lol.

            • The trick though is to do that but have no money on the bench at the end, and a couple of trades for emergency use. The last two years I’ve had a hood team but too much on the bench with no trades left and went big time backwards the last 4 rounds or so!

  4. Throwing this one to the group:

Tu: Trade in J. Draper for F6 loophole with Howes, allows Gibcus to be a Captain’s loop for this week

Td: Trade in T. Brown (better JS, $$), can only VC loop with Sheezel (Z. Reid is my only non-playing player atm)

Basing this one around decent captaincy options for this week – looking at you Heeney and Steele…

  5. At this point in time it is looking like:

    OUT: Jordan, Fisher & Billings

    IN: Flanders, dempsey and Darcy.
$280k for next week, Hopefully steele or English.

Jordan’s on the bye next week so happy to move him on. Fisher is being out scored by dempsey so why not bank $160k and have demps make me another $100k, Billings I don’t need to explain. Tried hard to get both steele and Flanders this week but Was 50k short.

  6. Punting Billings this round.
Plus I need a Fyfe or Reid to go to get premium in.

TU-Fyfe could be managed or pump out a 90 playing in a better team. Get $$$ going.
TD-Reid is safe most weeks but scores in the 50-60s in a very ordinary team.

Is he worth using a boost for to swap out Coffield? (Already used one boost)

Not ideal trading out Williams maybe however the funds allow me to bring in 2 keepers. Will have to field Draper for one week too.

MID: Bont, Serong, Butters, LDU, Dawson, Roberts, McKercher, Sanders (Sharp, Clark, Mannagh)

    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Livingstone)

FWDS; Fisher, T.Powell, J.Jordon, Reid, Windsor, Sexton (Wilson , T.Berry)
    $4,200 ITB, 36 trades left, 4 boosts.

Leaning towards a double downgrade due to low $$ currently.

  12. Without the full team for context, who do we think is the better in ?

TU: Heeney – 2 byes remaining but best 18 allows that to be carried. Is a must have FWD and will likely rise another 65k by end of Rd6.

TD: Serong – Red hot and will continue to beat up on non-owners but likely to only rise another 30k or so.

  13. Who to trade out to Green this week

TU: Bonner – BE 34, no bye, could possibly get dropped but I doubt it. Sanders on field if I trade him.

TD: Jordon – BE 44, plays west coast, bye next week but not too worried about that (no Collingwood players) if he goes out I have to field 3 forward rookies (Darcy, Campbell, Reid)

I think Sam Darcy and or Dempsey are trade ins this week.
Maybe Coffield to Draper in def.
Keep in mind that McKercher and Roberts are likely to get def dpp in rd 7 so they can be moved back then. Def rookies are light on at the moment.

Leaves Williams at D6 with Pink and Reid on the bench. Will utilise the best 18 rounds 5+6 and then look to swing Robert’s down back for better defensive coverage and bring in a better mid rookie over the likes of Draper/Browne down back.

Heeney Flanders Jordon Fyfe Cadman Darcy Berry Campbell in the fwd line
Jordon can be flipped at his bye if he doesn’t perform this week and Fyfe has the better scoring potential to kick along his cash gen

Second option (riskier) leaves me with:
Heeney Flanders Cadman Campbell Berry Wilson Sexton Rawlinson in the fwd line
Pretty dire and go could pear shaped limited cash gen
