  1. Currently pending a few rookies so guys like Allan, Erasmus and Hall could easily make way for a Reidy. Would love to try and get FOS in but not sure if it’ll be possible. Any advice or potential modifications are welcome.

Back: Sheezel, Clark, NWM, Perryman, Short, Reid (Allan, Leake)

Mid: N. Daicos, Serong, Rozee, Oliver, NOD, Tsatas, S. Draper, L. Ashcroft (Sheldrick, Knevitt, Hall)

    Ruck: Xerri, TDK (Boyd)

Forward: JHF, Macrae, Smith, Daniel, Kako, Davidson (Hewett, Erasmus)

    Flex: H. Langford

    • Good team Matt. I think FOS is a better option than Langford. Whether you have him as flex or on field is up to you. Also, Erasmus didn’t do much on the weekend, his job security might be questionable. Maybe there is an opportunity there to move a mid/ fwd to Erasmus and open up a mid slot for FOS.
      Good luck….M

  5. After years of prep I think I’ve cracked it, this one’s a keeper.
New approach for 2025, we all know how this thing ends so I thought I would get ahead of the game this year and name the ultimate SC Gods team two weeks out from round zero.
I think we have a good balance here, great midfield, strong defense, potential in the forward line and the flex is a real live wire who may pick up DPP if he ever plays again.
Captain and vice are absolute locks and the SC Gods should guarantee zero coverage for the early byes. I’m a bit concerned about the midseason byes as several key players may return.

    Def = J.Sinclair, C.Mills, K.Coleman, J.Draper, T.Doedee, J.Gibcus (R.Bazzo, J.Nguyen)

    Mids = M.Bontempelli ©, Z.Butters (v), A.Treloar, T.Green, H.Young, D.Parish, T.Mitchell, C.Guthrie (H.DeMattia, Z.Johnson, A.Day-Wicks)

    Rucks = R.Marshall, S.Darcy (V.Visentini)

    Fwd = C.Curnow, K.Pickett, M.Phillipou, M.Lewis, A.Scott, J.Dattoli (C.Cleary, L.Loyd)

    Flex = J.Smith

    Salary left = $42,200

TU: I have dropped all of these players from my starting lineup

TD: Back to the drawing board

Comments: Let me know your thoughts noting new injuries may force their way in at any time in the next seven months. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

  6. I’m sure this team won’t hold after the first Round 0 game, please tear it apart..

    RUC: Gawn, Xerri (Boyd)
FWD: JHF, Macrae, Sanders, Daniel, Garcia, Lynch (Stone, Davidson)
    Flex: TDK

I’m torn with this team. I love having the three ruck set up, but it feels a bit weak in the backs and mids. Gawn can become Neale (love his early run of games).
Garcia is also someone I might try to upgrade. With all these injuries with the Saints, I’m concerned he will lose his job when Sinclair and co. come back.

Moved richards to Rozee as a nice POD well before this weekend and he just went and stuffed that all up hahah 19% owned now.

Not sold on my R2 either. It’s been a revolving door of English, Meek and TDK. I just don’t trust TDK to stay solo ruck for long enough but his ceiling is huge.

Real chance i start 2 of short, Roberts & perryman or even all 3 but that could go bad.

Not thrilled with this side in general to be completely honest.. round 0 will be huge.

I’ll have Reid/Leake to come on if Milera gets injured & I’ve got Jackson F1 to cover for Flynn.

Team is good but a bunch of those rookies aren’t happening, nor are there replacements.

Travaglia, Allan and El Hawli are all no’s. Grab Reid and Bice but personally I’d want them strictly bench only, so another premo could be warranted.

Midfield is excellent, obviously with that big spend. There’s some higher priced rookies who look solid, so maybe thin out then, grab the CG and bolster your DEF line.

FWD rookies bar Davidson (and maybe Hewett) are all also no’s.

Premo selection is fire though. Gw. Anderson, Brayshaw, Dawson, tick, tick, tick.

El Hawli and Trainor won’t play. Grab Reid (bench only) and a premo.

Finlayson also feels far too reactive. Port were swimming in ball.

  14. With the increase in the number of injuries, sides will be looking quite different across the board. It will be more fun this year with more difference between sides.

DEF: Sheezel, Holmes, Roberts, Perryman, Milera, Sinn (Allan, Reid)
I don’t think the first 4 need more explanation than what others have already provided. I don’t love the Milera and Sinn picks – there is very much a lack of def rookies, and given Allan’s performance, I don’t have confidence putting him on the ground. Reid should get games and increase in price.

MID: Daicos, Serong, Merrett, Oliver, O’Sullivan, O’Driscoll, Tsatas, Ashcroft (Langford, Sheldrick, Knevitt)
Very different line to what I had initially, but Daicos, Serong and Merrett all seem quite safe choices. I am not entirely comfortable picking Oliver, but given high ownership it eases it. There are plenty of rookies to select from here – hopefully a couple that I have can increase in price for upgrade season.

    RUCK: Xerri, TDK (Boyd)
Pitt being out gives me more confidence picking TDK.

FWD: JHF, Macrae, Smith, Daniel, Kako, Berry (Hewtt, Erasmus)
For me, the ceiling of JHF increased with the news of Butters. Macrae, Smith and Daniel all provide massive value. Rookies are subject to selection.

    FLEX: Lynch
If he plays, and if he can get one or two big scores through a bag of goals, will increase – but the Tigers are gonna be in for a long year.

I wanted not be has cookie-cutter with the defenders (even though I had Holmes in my side previously), but fair call on the amount of rookies.

        Is that a better structure?

  19. Final Version (maybe)

we still have round 0 to sort out a few places, mainly the rookies

A few ‘minor’ changes from last time.

Mills and Bont injuries forced a bit of a re-shuffle. Brayshaw was in and out of my team, so he takes Bont’s place and Mills will go down to a rookie (there seems to be a few defence rookies now)

After watching the Adelaide game, Dawson and Rankine came in and Peatling out. Rankine more midfield time is real, and it was Peatling who was pushed forward and at his price he needed to average 100.

Smith made way for Rankine, even though Smiths sore knee wasn’t his ACL, it is still a concern he won’t be flat chat, plus his bye.

Sanders just gets the nod ahead of Parker and Smith. We didn’t see either over the weekend, but we will see Smith round 0, with Bont getting injured i’m seeing a bump for Sanders.

I didn’t like that Soldo was playing with Sweet, but i did like that TDK was solo with Pitto to miss 6 weeks. Sweet was an easy swap to TDK.

I have faded both Xerri and Sheezel. It will be tough watching North games until i can get them in. North have a tough start to the year, so that is my shark move for the start of the year.

Reidy gets a start in the flex, didn’t like his game yesterday but he was against Gawn. He has a nice start against Geelong round 1, Sydney then West coast, plus 3 of the first 4 at home. Our old mate Flynn looked ok yesterday and there is a chance he gets squeezed in there.

DEF: NWM, Holmes, Sicily, Short, Allan, Leake (Reid, O’Connell)
MID: Daicos, Brayshaw, Dawson, Rozee, Oliver, Sheldrick, Knevitt, Kako (Reid, Hastie, Boxhall)
    RUC: Gawn, TDK (boyd)
FWD: JHF, Rankine, Macrae, Sanders, Daniel, Hewett (Stone, Davidson)
    FLX: Reidy
    $9k itb

the main thing i’m not sure about is these expensive rookies. there seems to be quite a few of them who all look fantastic. Never been a fan to pay up for the expensive rookies if cheaper ones are avaliable.

the arguement is cheaper rookies will always make more cash, but the expensive rookies give better onfield scores. With best 18 for rounds 2, 3 and 4 do we need them?

    thanks fellas

    • Hi Derek, you really need Sims in there at R3 for Reidy to be viable at Flex (or you are stuck between Boyd and Reidy and nobody else until you burn a trade.

Keeping Allan after the -12SC is interesting. Especially in the slim Backline. No Sheez is also ballsy. You are obviously not sold in Roberts/Perryman types. I think Short or Sic could go down to one of them or possibly Sanders to Garcia (but I still don’t know what to think about Garcia – he could do anything good or bad).

Love the reasoning on the Crows players. Yep that was my exact take on it and have done exactly the same.

Thoroughly unconvinced by bench options forward and back but we’ll see what happens. 13K in the bank.
Petracca showed everything he needed to yesterday, v happy to take the punt at that price. Cerra is also a risk but too cheap to ignore. Would love to get Rankine instead of Sanders but don’t got the dollars.

Without the DPP in R3 (Sims, which is annoying also as he is $113k!) you are pretty much locked into playing Flynn without any flexibility (pardon the pun). So I don’t know about that one yet.

Look at this! I think I’ve just talked myself out of picking Flynn as Flex in my team by going through those possibilities with your team 🙂

Understanding what you are trying to do here because you are trying to squeeze Rankine in (and that’s the issue with everyone trying to do that btw). But one more $500k Defender I think personally (even if you have to downgrade a Lashcroft or a Sanders).

  30. I’m tossing up….

    Holmes to May
    Short to Rioli
    Dawson to Trac

    Team would then be

Sheezel May Rioli Travalgia Leake Reid (Allan ???/Rice)

NDaicos Serong Trac Rozee Oliver FOS Tsatas Knevitt (E Hewitt/Erasmus/Boxshall)

    Xerri TDK (Boyd)

JHF Simpkin Macrae Daniel Lynch Kako (J Berry/Davidson)

    Jackson

Reckon May and Rioli good pods. The dees dont have a bye after opening Round till R15 so that is attractive. Simpkin will have to prove he is fit but has plenty of time, and another pod.

    • Absolutely not.

Definitely not the year to go light down back.

Some people are going Prior and Leake at D5/6 but personally I don’t think you can go any shallower than a 5 premium DEF line atm.

  33. Do you really want us to be honest 🙂
Ok Then, Trav – no, maybe Prior
K.Smith and El-Hawli – no, maybe OConnell is a better chance
Bice/Trainor maybe for D8 but don’t expect to play Round 1 but maybe later.
Get yourself a good $400kish D3 (and prob possibly D4 as well).
Mids are a bit overkill. Select one of Neale or Naicos (subject to weather)
Don’t like the Lipinski pick. Seen the pre-season wonder before (besides that Fwds are great really).
Flex: got a NOD, FOS, Sheldrick, Knevitt type instead of Langford or even Flynn is you wish to setup like that.

    Anyway good Luck.

    • Great looking MID, but with C Mills and B Smith not looking good, I’d go Rozee over Dunkley to help upgrade those two and also would make R3 not so slim.

  41. Welcome to my first rendition of my supercoach team (for March that is)

Loaded up the backs due to not feeling it with the rookies, but open to suggestions for D6, as im not confident there either with the awkward pricing

    Defenders
Whitfield, Clark, NVM, Holmes, Short, Freijah (Bice, Reid)

    Midfielders
Serong, Rozee, Oliver, Cerra, NOD, Tsatas, Sheldrick, Knevitt (Langford, Hewett, Camporeale)

    Rucks
    Gawn, TDK (Reidy)

    Forwards
JHF, Jmac, Daniel, Garcia, Lynch, Kako (Berry, Stone)

    Flex
    Davidson

F4/5/6 are all suspect at the moment, ive loaded the defenders so have to expect that i will be lacking somewhere

This could be the best year for midfield rookies we’ve had since GC/GWS entered the competition

    Thoughts and comments appreciated

    • Really like this team. Not sure if you are playing for overall or just leagues.
Daicos, Merrett, Zorko all have early byes (I saw you mentioned that depending if game gets moved to round 3)

Horne Fracis is a must have IMO, FWD + Butter out for 6. Gives him every oppurtunity to start the season strong. Maybe try fit him in. Otherwise rock and roll. Wait for final teams and change rookies as needed.

  45. Long-time SuperCoach enthusiast here! Eager for some feedback on my current squad. I’ve focused on stability and value, with a few calculated risks to maximize points potential.

DEF – Sheezel, Clark, Short, Roberts, Perryman, Prior (Reid, Leake)
MID – Serong, Rozee, Oliver, Cerra, F.O’Sullivan, O’Driscoll, Tsatas, Ashcroft (Sheldrick, Knevitt, Boxshall)
    RUC – Xerri, De Koning
FWD – Horne-Francis, Rankine, Macrae, Daniel, Powell-Pepper, Kako (Stone, Davidson)
    FLEX – Flynn

    Bank – $9,000

    Summary
    Defence:
Core: I’m opting for a strong defensive foundation with Sheezel, Clark, Short, Roberts, and Perryman. Rookie options seem limited, so I’m prioritizing proven performers. Prior and potential rookie cover in Reid and Leake provide depth.”

Clark vs. Others: Choosing Jordan Clark over Sicily, Stewart, and Holmes was strategic. Geelong’s early bye and potential role uncertainty for Sicily swayed me. Clark’s is a POD also and should score well again in Freo’s system.

Stability: Short, Roberts, and Perryman offer reliable roles in their respective teams, providing consistent scoring.

Cleary (Bulldogs): I’m interested in Cleary from the Bulldogs but need to see his role security. He’s a potential swap for Prior if needed.

    Midfield:
Premos: This is where I’ve taken some calculated risks. Missing Daicos and Neale is a tough call, but I’m banking on them drawing extra attention early on. Serong is a safe pick for consistent scores. Rozee benefits from Butters’ absence, and Oliver is a must-have. Cerra’s favourable early fixture is appealing, despite his injury history.”

Rookie Strategy: Four rookie midfielders is a gamble, but I see strong potential and job security in O’Sullivan, O’Driscoll, Tsatas, and Ashcroft. Sheldrick, Knevitt, and Boxshall provide extra cover.”

Potential Changes: “I’d love to bring in Hugo Garcia. To make this happen, I’m considering downgrading Clark to Stewart and upgrading O’Sullivan, or downgrading Flynn and upgrading either O’Sullivan or Powell-Pepper.”

    Rucks:
Strategy: I’m fading Gawn this year. Xerri and De Koning are the standard picks, offering a reliable ruck combination.

    Forwards:
Premiums: Horne-Francis, Rankine, Macrae, and Daniel are my premium forward picks, all expected to finish in the top six. B. Smith’s high price and injury concerns make him a risky proposition, but I’ll reconsider if he starts strong, might just have to burn a trade.

Value Picks: Powell-Pepper and Kako have shown promise and offer good job security. Stone and Davidson provide depth.

    Flex:
Flynn: Flynn is my flex pick, expected to score well and increase in value. I’m open to downgrading him for upgrades in other areas.
