As you would have seen from the post below, the great Motts has decided to move on after more than 15 years of dedicated service to SCT. The replies to the post highlight how much of an impact Motts has had on so many people and their SC journey. What a man he is…
Firstly, I would like to say that it is an absolute honour and privilege to be taking over the CEO role at SCT. It’s the first SC community that I got involved with and it holds a very special place in my heart. I would like to thank Motts and the team for not only creating a place where people can come together to discuss the game they love, but to improve their knowledge and skills and make genuine friendships.
I first joined the SCT community back in 2010 under the alias Daniel’s Riches. At first, I lurked for a while without commenting or interacting with anyone directly. However, when I mustered the courage to post for the first time, I was welcomed with open arms into the community and immediately felt a sense of belonging. It helped me to achieve multiple top 100 rankings and in turn start to produce my own content on YouTube and establish the SuperCoach Swordplay brand.
When I heard the news that SCT was looking to finish up, I sent Motts a message to thank him for everything he has done over the past 15 years and how much the community had helped me. We got chatting, one thing led to another and Motts offered me the opportunity to breathe life into the site again. I couldn’t say no and plans were put in place for me to take over the ownership. I’m someone that never forgets their grass roots and was more than happy to give back to a place that has given me so much.
No one will ever be able to fill Mottsy’s shoes – that’s impossible. But myself and the team will endeavour to continue his legacy and keep the community going strong. It may take some time to get my head around how to properly manage things from an admin point of view and I’m sure mistakes will be made. But I’ll do my best to learn quickly and adapt!
Under new ownership, we are not looking to make wholesale changes to the platform. We will certainly look to make improvements where possible, but are steadfast on ensuring that the site sticks to its core roots and remains the original and the best. SCT will continue to be a community-driven powerhouse that keeps SuperCoach players informed, connected and ahead of the curve.
To all of the writers that will be moving on, I would like to sincerely thank you for your wonderful contribution to SCT. The door is always open if your circumstances change and you can find the time and motivation to get your writing gloves on again!
To those of you who are sticking around for the next phase of our journey, we would like to thank you and are super excited to be working with you in 2026. The site cannot run without you and your work ethic and knowledge is second to none!
We are yet to finalise the writing team for next year and will be looking for expressions of interest in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for an upcoming post with all the info you need!
Thanks again for the warm welcome guys. I’m pumped to be able to keep the site running and look forward to plenty of banter, discussion and engagement next year and beyond!
