Fallen Premiums – Round 18

Defenders

Bailey Dale – 531.1k, (-23.7k), 103 AVG, 65 BE

Dale has been much more consistent this year than years previous, with only 2 sub-tons since Round 6. He feasted off half-back for 151 against the Swans last week and is likely to double the dose this week with a matchup against the Eagles at home. Could be a good replacement for an underperforming premo, or Whitfield if you need to ditch him for a league win. Also has a pretty good run home so he presents as a great option if you’ve got a bit more cash.

Callum Wilkie – 462.2k, (-38.2k), 100 AVG, 53 BE

Wilkie popped up here a few weeks ago after an injury-affected score, he gave some mixed results since then but now the circumstances have changed. Sinclair’s injury means a lot of touches and a lot of points need to be replaced in the saints backline and the ever reliable skipper looks to be one of the beneficiaries of that through 2 games. A cheaper option that could pay off, but the risk is always there with key backs.

Incoming Price Drops

John Noble – 505.6k, 148 BE

Midfielders

Bailey Smith – 586.7k, (-51.6k), 123 AVG, 125 BE

He comes in a bit more expensive than others in the fallen premo category, but if you’ve got some cash and don’t have him its well worth bringing him in. Getting a guy averaging 123 for under 600k at this point in the season is a great prospect to boost that midfield for finals. Geelong will be jockeying for finals position, so hopefully he won’t sporadically miss any more games and he’s every chance to be the #1 mid the rest of the way.

Luke Davies-Uniacke – 509.4k, (-17.5k), 110 AVG, 45 BE

It’s been a good year overall for LDU, averaging 110 and leading the Roos to a much improved year. He does find himself very cheap at the moment due to a random poor score against Richmond of all teams. He is a danger of dropping a stinker with 3 sub-80 scores this year, but he’s also got a pretty good ceiling and won’t be tagged often. A few other guys around this price range too if you prefer them, such as Merrett and Richards. Don’t think you can too wrong with any of them.

Incoming Price Drops

Noah Anderson – 572.8k, 160 BE

Rucks

Rowan Marshall – 433.7k, (-138.7k), 83 AVG, 43 BE

As long as he’s a solo ruck, Marshall looks to be a great pick after scoring 133 against Essendon. The complication comes with TDK’s status on a return. We know by now that will impact his scoring and we have no idea how long De Koning is out for as he’s still listed as TBC on their injury list. Last we heard is he’ll probably be out for another 3-ish weeks. If you need a cheap pick with some handy DPP and you’re okay with the risk of his Ruck partner returning, he’ll be a quick injection of cash and points. I might personally flick an underperformer for him in the flex spot.

Incoming Price Drops

Luke Jackson – 619.8k, 167 BE

Tristan Xerri – 538.1k, 154 BE

Brodie Grundy – 556.3k, 152 BE

Forwards

Sam Durham – 452k, (-36.9k), 82 AVG, 40 BE

Mentioned him a lot, but he’s backed it up so here he is again. Durham has been fantastic since being thrust back into the middle the last few weeks and looks like he will be a top 6 forward the rest of the year. Still very cheap and has DPP, so there’s no obvious reason to doubt this pick. Not technically a fallen premo but Brad Hill is one to watch as it seems he’s moved to half back to help cover for Sinclair in the last couple of weeks. That one has a bit more risk to it though, if you don’t have Durham I’d bring him in.
