Most Traded R18

Good afternoon coaches, apologies for the late post. Unfortunately, I will not be able to post this article for the next three weeks and I sincerely apologise to those folks who look forward to it each week as much as I enjoy writing it. However, I am going to try and put up mini posts and polls where possible but emphasise where possible as my schedule only has a spare couple of days until July 30th.

MOST TRADED OUT

It’s fairly obvious from the top ten list that people are now deciding it’s time to turf out their rookies to bring in that last premo or two. I realise some of these guys have hung around too long in our teams, and even lost us some cash lately, but circumstances have meant we have had to keep them, unfortunately. The likes of Murdock, Cook and Lombard are all no brainers to exit the building, and Cumming and Lindsay should also be on that whiteboard, but again, circumstances such as where cover was needed and lack of DPP has dictated this as well, and probably still is.

I mention this because some of the players on the list still have some cash build left, and if you are still searching for that last upgrade as late as next week, that extra cash may get you a better premo, or at least a fallen premo. Wade Derkson has a BE of 34 and a game like last week could net you another handy $15k. Hugo Hall Kahan‘s BE is only 30 and if he scores his average so far, he will bring in another $20k. Plus he has that super handy D/M DPP and I would be using him to cover Lachie Whitfield this week, hoping it’s only a one week protocol. Jack Ison is at 14 BE and should be able to bring in $10+k, even against the Hawks. Patrick Retschko is still in the team and if you didn’t get rid of him before he lost that money in R15, he can still make a bit more as his BE suggests another $20k ish this week. These last two are more problematic being Mid only taking some of the flexibility away from you, however.

Lachie Whitfield is more a personal choice this week I feel. If you need the points, or if it gets you a swap to a NAS/Holmes type that you have missed till now then it makes some sense. If it is only a week and trades are a bit scarce I’d be holding awaiting his return against the hapless Bombers where he scored 133 earlier in the season.

MOST TRADED IN

The only thing I’d mention in this section is the large number of coaches leaping on one gamers Francou, Mraz and Hamilton. You all know the caveat here but I think at this stage of the season we all make choices based on the pub test and if a player looks the goods now, we get them. Josh Goater is the more logical choice as a bubble boy, being a bit older and having been in the system for a few years without luck on the injury front. Showed some good signs of growth against Port last week, and has a BE of -54 which could net you upwards of $50k if you are interested in the cash build at this stage of the season.

As for the premos on that list, I can’t make any arguments against any of them, given their recent form lines, it will depend on which one you need most as teams are pretty well set and structured now and we don’t want too much changing them. I don’t have Bailey Dale or Luke Parker but I’m keeping Whitfield so no choice to make at this stage. If I did it would probably be Dale given his recent form and his upcoming draw against West Coast, Gold Coast and Richmond in the next three.

Anyway, I know you have to fill spots where you are able and I wish you luck making those choices and hope they all turn to gold. See you in a few weeks.
