Game Chat – Geelong v Bulldogs

Where and when: Kardinia Park at 7:50pm (AEST)

Last time they met: Round 14, 2020:  WBD 9.7 (61) DEF BY Geelong 10.12 (72) at Carrara.

Last five: Cats 5-0, WBD 4-1

Match Preview: What a humdinger of a game this is going to be! Geelong did a great job last week against the Power under what could only be called testing conditions while the Dogs had the bye after knocking off Freo the week before. The last time the Dogs were truly tested (against Melbourne in R11) they came up short losing by over 4 goals. That’ll be a huge motivation for them tonight but the way the Cats are playing right now, I don’t think it’ll affect the result.

Mottsy Watch:

Geelong
Stewart, Duncan, Dangerfield

Western Bulldogs
Macrae, Daniel, Bontempelli

Mottsy’s Tip: Cats by 20 points (tipping record 28/38).

      • Evening GD, Who would know what Geelong will do?

Best of luck for the weekend.

This should be a good game. I went for the dogs.

I have 19 playing this round. Fingers crossed for an improvement. I need it.

        • Hey, CT.

I’ve tipped the Cats. Kardinia Park too strong a fortress.

Loving the Dogs this year though. If it’s not us, I want it to be them or the Lions.

      • Will have Bews down there, Tuohy may play bit more in the back half perhaps, I doubt Scott would change tact, O’Connor tagging has helped them

    • Duncan has become very costly for me.
BE of 180 and on 15, he is going to take a massive price drop too if he needs to be traded.

  3. I don’t understand Geelong logic so they wanted to managed Higgins but they made him the medical sub. i assume that they knew someone is going to get injured late in the game but didn’t expect this early.

  4. Duncan must have to go on never again lists as well I think … whilst an injury is not his play / fault … he promises so much each year and then for various reasons just falls off …

  6. Me in this week’s captaincy article: Bont will get tagged, steer clear

    Bont: hold my beer

On 100 at 3QT, fought through attention from Blicavs and Guthrie, wow!

Started him, so don’t mind if he makes me look like an idiot!

  7. Yeh I was thinking bont but changed my VC to Mccrae! 27 touches and only 63 points! If footy doesn’t work out he has a promising career as a butcher lol

  8. WTF is going on with the scores on FF? … just watching Bont get a 8 and then 5 on scores and he hasn’t been near the ball in the last few minutes … he’s gone from 111 to 130 without even touching the ball

  9. Was going to trade in Hall all week, until the speculation of how the inclusion of McDonald might impact his scoring….so traded in Hawkins who hasn’t done much and now on the bench with a neck injury. Should have just written this round off I think and saved my trades.

  10. The CD scorers are having a lend of themselves and everyone else tonight … some BS scores on many players tonight, both plus and minus … some serious favouritism happening with the scoring …

  11. Macca, in all honesty sometimes I get a bit over your complaining of CD, but tonight…. GO YOUR HARDEST!!! Couldn’t believe seeing Bont get mega points when he hadn’t been near the ball and then every time I looked at the footy, Stewart took an intercept mark which are normally scored huge this year…..got bugger all for it!!!!

On another note, bloody cracking game of footy! Absolute ripper

  12. CD , think they know footy, Stewart was so far the most influential player on the field, I’m nearly done with SC if this is acceptable scoring.

  13. Stewart most intercept Marks ever recorded by a Cat’s player……
Just an average 120 odd game. Should have been 150 minimum.

  14. Stewart should have been on 140+.

Most metres gained, 77% disposal efficiency, contested possessions 11 of which 3 would have been marks, 13 marks say 7 intercepts, 3 clangers. Compared to Dangerfield ‘s stats who scored 95 before finalisation. Tight game no reward for effort?
