Vice-Captaincy Candidates
MACRAE v Hawks
- L3 v Hawks: 102, 127, 119 (116 av.)
- L3 @ UTAS: N/A
Entered a really nice patch of form with a three round of average of 144. Hawks, although competing, still leak MID points so pencil Macrae in for another 140.
STEELE v Cats
- L3 v Cats: 116, 86, 120 (107 av.)
- L3 @ GMBHA: 120, 95, 54 (90 av.)
Coming off a fortnight of 150s and just does it all: racks em up, hits the score board, tackles relentlessly. Lock him in for 130, more if the Saints take it to the edge.
LYONS v Pies
- L3 v Pies: 139, 138, 45 (107 av.)
- L3 @ TBA: TBA
Put his feet up last week in a cruisy victory but should get back to business as the Lions try to hold on to 5th. Pies always excellent to VC into, pencil Lyons in for 135. Zorko also a great option here as well.
Captaincy Candidates
SATAN v Crows
- L3 v Crows: 204, 205, 122 (117 av.)
- L3 @ MCG: 144, 139, 87 (123 av.)
Pretty likely the Crows deploy Schoenberg after what Satan’s done to them in their last two outings but managed 21 CPs with a tag against the Eagles the other night. Still solid for 125 with some attention. 150+ if they let him get off the chain.
MILLER v Dons
- L3 v Dons: 65, 134, 89 (96 av.)
- L3 @ TBA: TBA
Notched up 35 touches, 21 kicks, 2 goals and 155 last week while tagged last week – just incredible. Great sign when a MID can break a tag and go large. Won’t get attention from the Dons, Suns trying to see the season out with class, Miller 140.
MERRETT v Suns
- L3 v Suns: 137, 88, 102 (109 av.)
- L3 @ TBA: TBA
Really started to improve his use going I50 and finding that ceiling in recent weeks. A lock for 120, with the Parish an equally good option.
Steer Clear
WALSH v Port
- L3 v Port: 144, 132, 115 (130 av.)
- L3 @ AO: 83 (83 av.)
Coming off an ankle issue, Port very restrictive, just look elsewhere. Best case he plays and a low-ton.
Smoky Pick
GAWN v Crows
- L3 v Crows: 124, 107, 158 (130 av.)
- L3 @ MCG: 125, 95, 100 (107 av.)
Will be rucking against ROB-less Crows so every HO should pretty much be to advantage. Only concern would be how many ruck contests he actually gets, Dees might take the opportunity to let Jackson hone his craft. Maxxy to go 140+ if he gets a serviceable split.
Verdict
A combo of Macrae, Satan and Miller. Just need to see how loops and times shake out.

MaCrae and Satan for me
Any love for Tom Mitchell?
Deciding between him, Steele and Macrae for VC.
Lyons, Gawn or Oliver for C
Steele, Macrae, Satan and Lyons ahead of Titch this week, L&L.
Dogs a tough midfield to score against and Titch with a poor record against them.
MITCHELL v Dogs
L3 v Dogs: 71, 79, 111 (87 av.)
L3 @ UTAS: 132, 131, 114 (126 av.)
VC Satan
C Satan
(Realistically Steele VC)
Will be interesting to see how many people take a VC score this weekend, knowing what Oliver might put up on sunday
TU: Zorko
TD: Gawn
Macrae into Gawn for me. ROB out should see Gawn go large.
Macrae into Steele 125 passmark the usual combo for me
Macrae into Miller for me.
Most likely going to have to use a Gawn or Satan as C to try make up points on my league finals opponents this week.
Who’s the best VC option?
T/U: Macrae
T/U: Steele
Comment: Lyons
T/U here from above comment for Lyons VC
VC Macrae C Steele probably will change last minute cause Geelong has a tagger!
O’Connor to tag Steele?
So thinking a combination of Macrae and Touk.
O’Connor could be in defence due to Tuohy out last time a defender was out (i think it was Hendo) he was playing down back
Realistically its Macrae into Oliver but with players out I am inclined to look at other avenues to attempt to make up points, Bont into Gawn appeals.
Gawn looks appealing to go captain but really don’t want to risk it with the average score that he has been producing.
Vice:
TU: Steele
TD: Bont
In a desperately tight Prelim and need to nail my captaincy choice.
TU: Oliver
TD: Gawn
