Where and when: MCG, 1:45pm (AEST)
Last time they met: SF’s 2020: Geelong 15.10 (100) DEF Collingwood 5.2 (32) at The Gabba.
Patrick Dangerfield was the centrepiece of Geelong’s semi-final slaughter of Collingwood, as the Cats booked a preliminary final berth against Brisbane with a 68-point trashing of the listless Pies. The superstar midfielder was stationed deep in attack for the majority of the contest and was supreme in the Cats’ dominant victory. Remarkably, Collingwood was kept to one goal in the opening three quarters, with four late majors clawing them out of record-breaking lows. Mitch Duncan was among the Cats’ best with 30 disposals, including 19 in the first half, while Cam Guthrie and Sam Menegola were also terrific. Defensive pair Tom Stewart and Lachie Henderson were also important in shutting down any chances for the impotent Pies, who had few winners as Geelong’s barrage began early.
Match Preview: It doesn’t get any easier for The Pies as they take on 3rd placed Geelong who have done it easy the last 3 weeks against The Tigers, Saints and Suns. Nathan Buckley will need to find a way to score against one of the better defences going around while stopping the twin towers of Hawkins and Cameron at the other end.

F. Macrae medical sub for Collingwood for those who are looping a VC/Weightman score last night.
Tu; take Gawn
Td; captain grundy
Also off topic but who to trade in for Bergman?
Tu; Heeney
Td; madden (leaves 250k in bank)
TU: Play Robertson or Poulter
TD: Hope Brockman isnt the medical sub to be able to take Jordan’s score
Need to decide by the second game
Will wait for Zorko after his bye.
Powell out. Was thinking Boak but is Jelwood a legit POD?
TWO LATE CHANGES
: Mark Blicavs and Cam Guthrie OUT, Rhys Stanley and Zac Guthrie IN.
Medical subs
Collingwood
: Finlay Macrae
Geelong
: Jordan Clark
Damn it Guthrie XD I’ll be taking McNeil’s score now instead
Ouch Corey.
Your luck has been shocking this year. Hope things turn for you soon.
Only upside is I can loophole him to get Gawn’s VC score quicker
What has Clark done to Scott? Still cant get a game … crazy. Hope he looks for another club. I reckon he would be great running out of half back for the Mighty Bombers!!
TU: Field Poulter
TD: Field Brockman. Emg Poulter. Swap in RCD if Brockman picked.
This Bianco kid has started on fire on debut!
Bianco 9 touches from 68% TOG, wowza.
he got four in the one space of about 10M and 20 seconds – him to pie, pie to him, him to pie and back again and again and again … no impact. Great way to rack up stats though! – all handballs in that play
Early days but J.Crisp looks to be playing a pure mid role for Pies. Potential there for a POD defensive selection.
has been for the last few weeks with their mid injury crisis
1/4 Time – and a goalless one for the Pies. Cats 2.3.15 lead the Pies 0.3.3

Half Time and the Pies still haven’t registered a goal. Last time that happened was 2005, I believe against the Cats!

Grundy my Captain down in rooms with arm injury 🙁
Same here FT, have the C on him. But even more upsetting being a pies supporter, we cant afford to lose him.
Glad I’m not the only one who rolled the dice on Grundy instesd of taking gawns. Hopefully it’s not a long term injury for the big guy!
Grundy down to the rooms. Appears to be shoulder related.
Grundy out for the game..
Grundy is OUT.
Grundy on 70 subbed OUT for Fin Macrae.
How much does he lose with scaling ?
This could be the pivotal point of the entire season as we all have to find a ruck alternative and potentially burn more trades.
Best 18 next 3 weeks means we may have time to assess, before we are likely to cop donuts.
No we don’t.
Byes next 3 weeks.
Best 18.
R12 should be easy to cover
R13 Could be tricky, but Flynn or Reeves may play.
R14 Grundy would miss with the Bye anyway.
Best time for Grundy to miss really, if its less than a month, he should be a hold.
There goes my season better luck next year. Hope Grundy is ok
3/4 Time, and finally a goal to Collingwood, off the boot of Grundy who is now subbed out of the game with a wrist/shoulder issue. Ending the hopes of Collingwood supporters and coaches with him as Captain (me included). Geelong goalless that quarter. GEEL 5.11.41 to the Pies 1.11.17

Grundy sent to hospital for scans for neck injury.
Reported he has referred pain down both arms.
All the best for good test results.
Of the top 5000 Supercoach players 40% have Grundy as captain and 26 people have Finley Macrae.
Grundy non-owners in the top 5000k is only about 150 teams.
8 teams traded him this round, and 5 of them made him Captain .
Got him as captain as didn’t get a chance to change it, thankfully this week’s opposition also has the C on Grundy. Thanks for the scoring updates!
Game over – Cats by 10 points

Thank you Lisa for all the scores.
Loving your work Lisa!! Thanks!
Bianco’s knee iced up post game. Hopefully he’s fine, looks the goods.
